Reviews for St Tudno Hotel

Review 1:Excellent quality accommodation and service. This is my hotel of choice when visiting Llandudno and am disappointed if I have to go elsewhere. All the rooms are of a high standard. The level of service is exemplary.

Review 2:The special little touches in the room. Delicious home made heart shaped biscuits. The welcoming helpful staff and delicious breakfast so perfectly cooked

Review 3:Only staying one night we didn't have any problems.

Review 4:Staff were very friendly and helpful. The homemade biscuits in the room were lovely. As was having fresh coffee. Restaurant meal excellent value

Review 5:The only thing I didn't like was the parking was tight out the back but the front was perfect

Review 6:Thank you all for a lovely stay, we will return some day, the bath with jets were amazing and a big bed!! Love it, staff were all polite and very welcoming.. Free parking and wifi, Would recommend your hotel.

Review 7:Other residents yappy dogs that growled and barked if we passed by. Could also hear them barking from our room.

Review 8:The rooms were spacious, stylish and very comfortable. Also the breakfast was delicious. Xx

Review 9:Parking and having to move the car around was a bit of a problem, however the staff were very helpful with this issue.

Review 10:The position of hotel was pleasant and convenient to the sea front and the Great Orme. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay in Llandudno. Thank you.

Review 11:This hotel is in a prime location on the front at Llandudno. Staff were warm and welcoming. the rooms, although a little small were beautifully furnished and very warm and comfortable. We had dinner at this hotel and the food was excellent.

Review 12:Lovely hotel, very friendly staff and excellent food, would recommend this hotel to family and friends, the owner even moved a van so we could park our car.

Review 13:Extremely friendly hosts and their staff. From checking-in to service at meal times, everything was very professional and correct. We left it late to book taxi to theatre and were unable to get one. No problem though as owner took us right to the door in his own car. Would not hesitate in booking the St Tudno again

Review 14:would have prefered a shower cubicle bathroom to small to accomodate a bath the toilet was jammed in at the end of the bath with very little room between wall and bath also no spare loo roll apart from this a near perfect experience

Review 15:close to the sea, excellent breakfast staff and very good breakfast, all staff very proffesional and courteous, on site parking, warm room in November very pleasant

Review 16:on this occasion, our room - rather small for a couple and room rate was rather excessive due to the size and location (on the back - first floor/fire exit) the room was lit up with fire exit sign at night time. Noise was a problem also.

Review 17:location, comfortable friendly hotel

Review 18:the room was disgustingly dirty with Pet hair everywhere and the staff just offered an apology. was disappointed. the room was also very small

Review 19:good location

Review 20:small room for the cost , although all comparable accommodation charged similar. car parking awkward but this resort was built for the victorians arriving by train probably!

Review 21:location , staff and food. all excellent.

Review 22:Great location, lovely food, Fantastic service - they made us feel very special and clearly don't take your custom for granted. Happily accommodated our dining and food preferences.

Review 23:Car parking was OK within a garage but was difficult to access the car at all times

Review 24:Friendly staff and excellent service, plus cleanliness throughout the hotel

Review 25:The staffs are lovely and helpful. The room is clean and comfortable (my room is for three people and there is a separate room within it). Decoration in the hotel is nice. The location is perfect (near to both attraction places and town center). Breakfast is good too. It's worth the money. Again the service is excellent!!

Review 26:All the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. Our evening meal was excellent and good value for money. The hearty breakfast really set us up for the day.

Review 27:The attitude of the owner. Fluctuated from friendly to dismissive. Some staff rushing you to make choices from the menu.

Review 28:Location and the room was very comfortable. Some staff were helpful and made you feel welcome.

Review 29:Location was fantastic and we travelled with an older person and a person with limited mobility so it had everything we needed. Parking is a little difficult. We had a problem with two evening meals but could not fault the hotels response they were brilliant and changed the meals without delay.

Review 30:One little thing is that we are used to a buffet breakfast and we had to choose from a menu. Having said that, all the choices you get from a buffet were there and I can't complain about the food.

Review 31:The staff were excellent - very attentive, responsive and polite. The location was perfect and we had a wonderful sea view from our bedroom. Loved Llandudno - a real traditional seaside town with pier. Took a great tram ride to the summit of Great Orme.

Review 32:Bedroom not great - to be fair it was the last one available when i booked. No chairs except for a small stool but there was a large vase of artificial flowers taking up valuable space. 4-poster bed so high could not sit on to tie shoelaces. Minibar prices silly - you would have to be drunk or trying to impress someone other than your spouse - or both - if you wanted to buy from the minibar. One of the sash windows was stuck open - fortunately weather was warm enough. Air-conditioning unit filter was choked with dust - not been cleaned in a long time.

Review 33:Friendly staff and good food served most efficiently. An excellent position on the seafront - handy for all the good things Llandudno offers. Good decor throughout with excellent bathroom facilities.

Review 34:On arrival we had drinks they cost £25 for 2 drinks!!! Very overpriced!

Review 35:Location and staff excellent also rooms beautiful and clean! Bath was a jacuzzi lovely surprise. Breakfast was delicious. Would certainly stay here again!

Review 36:Only one word fantastic. We only stopped for one night and was great staff couldn't do enough for you. Cannot get any closer to the centre. Not one bad word to say. Can't wait to book again. Thanks to everyone

Review 37:The hotel was first class from arrival when the staff were very helpful and informant. The bedroom was excellent throughout. The food was first class and the staff very helpful with requirements. The location of the hotel also meant there was very little journey time to the front and shops.

Review 38:We found the seaview room lovely & clean & comfortable. Bathroom was too small.hard to reach to switch bath taps on.toilet would be better where sink is.afternoon tea evening meal & breakfast was exellent.

Review 39:Very helpfull & friendly staff. Very good to have private parking.

Review 40:cold water taps couldn't turn on easy. blind in bathroom didn't work .it stated there was going to be fresh milk every day but we didn't get it .

Review 41:good parking ,good location, quiet at night

Review 42:Room 18 was very small for the price. The window was tiny and gave a slightly claustrophobic feel to the room .

Review 43:Location was excellent, facilities good. staff very pleasant and accommodating .

Review 44:Rooms a little expensive.

Review 45:Very pleasant stay. Fantastic views over the bay. Quiet and relaxing, and a joy to have excellent breakfast served at the table.

Review 46:Was a little disappointed with the location of the room at the back of the hotel and a tad small for what was described as a superior double. We took two small dogs and although the dogs were made welcome there was no provisions what so ever for them, ie mats on which to place their food bowls and water etc, although on our second day a black bin liner bag was put on the floor where we had placed one of our own towels, just lucky we took everything with us, but again overall very good.

Review 47:Very comfortable hotel, staff were very friendly, lovely comfy bed although pillows could be improved, great Spa bath and really good breakfast. Overall very good!!

Review 48:Well presented, tastefully decorated bedroom and ensuite, but there was no air con throughout nor an extractor fan in the bathroom which would have helped as the windows were tricky to open, and my room looked out onto a fire escape so it felt more secure to leave it closed at night. A handrail would have been useful for the bath.

Review 49:Very friendly and accommodating staff who could not do enough for you! The food was of exceptional quality, thoughtfully presented and at very reasonable prices. They clearly have a very talented chef. The dining room & restaurant has beautiful decor and reminded me of my holiday to the Italian Lakes last year. I would definitely eat there again. The rooms are fully equipped with everything you need, from tea and coffee, cafetiere, kettle and even home made shortbread. Lovely toiletries were provided in the beautifully appointed bathroom, though not Molton Brown ones as promised on their website.

Review 50:The hotel is looking a little tired but this is clearly being addressed by the new owners.

Review 51:The staff could not be more friendly, the hotel has changed hands and refurbishment appears to be underway, that said this did not affect our stay in any way.

Review 52:Difficult to turn on taps or shower in the bath (without actually getting in to the bath first) because of glass shower screen. Perhaps ditch the bath and have a shower cubicle?? Dinner menu could be a little more varied for people staying longer than a few days.

Review 53:Helpfulness of staff - couldn't be faulted. Beautiful view from front rooms. Bedrooms tastefully furnished. Homemade shortbread biscuits with complimentary tea etc in-room.

Review 54:Thought the drinks were a little over priced

Review 55:Excellent hotel ,very polite staff, best fish and chips we have ever had in the restaurant ,ideal location

Review 56:room was not ready until 3pm should have been ready at 2pm only enough space for parking for 4 cars difficult to access WIFI had to complete personal details in order to access it room wa a bit small

Review 57:big comfy bed superb breakfast spa bath

Review 58:The location gave us great access to walk along the sea. The staff was very friendly and accomodating.Facilities were extremely clean. The food was amazing! We couldn't have had a more perfect stay!

Review 59:Bedroom on the small side and the quilt on the bed was too heavy for summer.

Review 60:First rate location on the seafront. Restaurant and food excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 61:Room was compact and in need of refurbishment which the owners have planned

Review 62:Friendly welcome. On arrival bags were immediately taken to the room. Car parking was arranged. Food was fresh and of high quality. Room very clean.

Review 63:To be picky. A lick of paint would not go a miss. But talking to the owner this is already in the pipeline

Review 64:Staff were kind and genuine people. Lovely breakfast for a good start to the day. Great location.

Review 65:Room was very hot and very small. Air con was not powerful enough to cool down the room

Review 66:Location is great. So close to everything. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 67:The room was a bit shabby, asked for a room on ground level, but was put in a room where I had to climb stairs(difficult when your disabled on crutches)

Review 68:The location, friendly staff, lovely breakfast

Review 69:Free wifi accessed by having to complete a form and provide personal details. Would rather just have a pass word for access.

Review 70:Clean comfortable room. Free parking on a very busy Saturday. Staff very helpful

Review 71:Parking/ pillows/ bedroom small for a family room / no safety catch on window to stop it opening up to high (sash cord window) expecting nicer smell things in the bathroom

Review 72:room 18 was tiny with a queen and single left no room to move. Top floor back Gulls were squawking all night. Bring ear plugs!

Review 73:Outstanding staff. Really made the stay for us. Nice location

Review 74:The reception we received was friendly and helpful. Our room had a panoramic view of the bay. The hotel is very convenient for the pier, tourist buses and The Great Orme,

Review 75:A sunny Sunday meant it was a very popular destination... On arrival a staff member fortited her car park for our benefit. It was going beyond what I would have ever expected. Big thanks Anya.

Review 76:Not the responsibility of the hotel but Llandudno should make better provision for car parking.

Review 77:The service from the owners and staff could not be faulted. The food in the restaurant was excellent - well presented and served.

Review 78:No bad experience whatever.

Review 79:From the first friendly greeting to the end of the break all the staff were excellent. Friendly and helpful, eager to please. Excellent food on offer and most certainly in the right location for our needs. Thanks to owner Sue.

Review 80:One of the bathrobes was heavily blood stained Tricky getting into the carpark at the back, exterior appearance

Review 81:The bedroom view,exterior appearance.Nice staff

Review 82:Numerous stains on wall paper Waste paper bin disgusting. Had not been cleaned Shower door did not open fully due to location of basin. Only opened 1" Hinges on toilet seat were rusty Toilet brush had faeces on it Carpet stained Room had not been cleaned and dust in a lot of places Complimentary toiletries had been part used Bath towel had faeces on it

Review 83:LOCATION

Review 84:We felt the room was very small for the price. The gentleman serving at breakfast was not very friendly.

Review 85:The location was great and so we're most of the staff.

Review 86:The hotel room we were in was shabby the wall paper needed re-doing, we had a ripped duvet cover, broken lamp and broken pedal bin in the bathroom and a hairdryer in the bathroom and the hose was ripped, and a bedside table with very stiff drawer and handle had come off and was in the drawer.

Review 87:The location and views from the hotel was beautiful. Staff were friendly and worked very hard, only to happy to offer to help you before you even asked.

Review 88:What has happened to the fresh milk in the bedrooms? The cooking of the breakfast was not up to the previous standards. Are the new owners trying to cut corners at the expense of good service and customer care?

Review 89:The location is excellent , we love Llandudno.

Review 90:Oddly. That three courses for £20 were being offered for truly excellent meals which made them too cheap. Owners and staff tried very hard to please but seemed a little overawed.

Review 91:Excellent food and comfortable stylish rooms.

Review 92:lack of available sockets in bedroom this our second visit rear bedrooms rather small

Review 93:bathroom and sitting area very good exept the dripping shower head

Review 94:Just little things - Shower leaked onto floor underneath the shower screen in bathroom. No shortbread on the shortbread tin in the room. When we asked for brown sauce at breakfast the waiter just put a dollop of sauce on our plate which I have never experienced before and have stayed in many hotels all around the world. A plant in the walk way from the hotel front door towards reception which you had to brush past and was frankly in the way and could be elsewhere.

Review 95:Friendly ladies on reception who were helpful and very pleasant. Very clean.

Review 96:Room was not particularly spacious - but had all the expected facilities.

Review 97:Location of the hotel - very convenient for the prom, pier, town centre, Orme. Parking facilities available - very handy on a busy bank holiday weekend. Staff very friendly and helpful. Super breakfast - good choice and all very well cooked and presented.

Review 98:Staff were extremely obliging, nothing was too much trouble. Comfortable, clean, quiet hotel in a fantastic location and excellent food, what more could you want.

Review 99:The bedroom was very small the bed a narrow double and a horrible view of two fire escapesdirectly outside out of the windows maybe good in case of a fire but not for view or a feeling of se a small friendly hotel curity if you opened the windos

Review 100:Location and the staff

Review 101:Service for food was very slow and inefficient. Some of the food was of mediocre quality. The new owners need to urgently get on with their plans to bring the hotel back to the luxury, boutique status it once had

Review 102:Fantastic location opposite the pier. Parking at the rear of the hotel. The staff were very friendly. Hotel's new owner dealt with complaints promptly and honestly

Review 103:The staff are excellent, both front of house and restaurant very polite professional and always very helpful. Our room was very nice and clean with a large comfortable bed. Hot shower or bath whenever needed. The food excellent along with the service in the restaurant.

Review 104:The first impression of the hotel on arriving was not good there was nowhere for us to park our car and we ended up at the rear of the kitchen area,

Review 105:we enjoyed the town and the view from our room,we also liked the location to explore the local attractions.

Review 106:Helpful and cheerful staff, Petra in particular. Comfortable bed Excellent breakfast and dinner Splendid view from room Excellent facilities. Parking facilities

Review 107:In terms of value for money it was ok but no more. At times it was really quite cold in the bedroom and communal areas.

Review 108:The owners and staff were polite and helpful.

Review 109:I wouldn't say it was bad but the rooms at the back just need a little updating in comparison to the amazing Rhoda Junior Suite at the front. The hotel is now under new management so I'm sure this will happen soon.

Review 110:Outstanding customer service. We were made to feel very welcome by all members of staff (particularly the receptionist Petra) from the moment we arrived ( all 7 of us from age 1 to 75) nothing was too much trouble. superb location and delicious food make the St.Tudnos hotel a perfect and luxury getaway. We loved the connection of Alice in Wonderland and Lewis Carroll to the hotel it made the stay a little more special.

Review 111:Bed was very soft. The windows were a little draughty, however it was very windy.

Review 112:Food was very nice and piping hot. Lovely bath. Good attention to detail.

Review 113:The rear room with no view in a hotel which was only sparsely occupied, so that a sea-view room ought to have been available. The room was noisy. Even though there was a lift, it was necessary to use stairs, which caused my wife some discomfort.

Review 114:The food. The friendly and helpful nature of the staff.

Review 115:Bed was too soft, but that is a personal preference.

Review 116:Superb location. Staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. We didn't have evening meal, but breakfast was very good.

Review 117:The friendliness and politeness. Wonderful views, so clean, comfortable, nothing to much trouble and situated in a lovely and convenient area. My daughter's dog loved it too. Cannot wait to go again.

Review 118:Although breakfast was tasty, a bit dry, missing maybe beans, tomatoes in juice as on a full English breakfast. Shower very poor, no power at all.

Review 119:Location, staff very polite and helpful.

Review 120:Felt I was judge by the owner as I'm a young lad with a scar on my head and was pushed to the back of the breakfast hall and not spoken to by the owner like the rest of the people staying

Review 121:The advertised swimming pool was no longer available.

Review 122:Friendly staff, hotel position, superb breakfast and fresh coffe and home-made shortbread in room.

Review 123:The kind and considerate staff throughout stay, making feel most welcome. And REALLY high standard of a clean and tidy hotel. Their restaurant meals amazing! And breakfast too!

Review 124:Only down side when we booked it was advertised with a swimming pool back in 2014, but the pool was not up to standard of the new owner and he closed it.

Review 125:Friendly staff plus the owners where around all the time asking if every thing was ok 1st class service cannot fault the hotel.

Review 126:Awful smell of old peoples home, very expensive for no luxury. Wallpaper hanging of ceiling. Dusty. Very hot room, I almost passed out. Good was terrible.

Review 127:the location was nice and the staff were fantastic but that really is all.

Review 128:The staff were really nice and the new owners were lovely, very friendly and always happy to help. Our room was spacious with a great view of the sea and the spa bath was fab! We've stayed in a few hotels in Llandudno in the past but this is our favourite with the best breakfast by far, can't wait to return!
