Reviews for Rotana Hotel
Review 1:room was not that clean, especially the bed. one morning, we were going for breakfast and saw that clean towels for the customers were kept on the floor, without anything underneath it. we were asked to put 10 pounds as deposit for the keys and remote control for the tv, which is not even mentioned on their websites.
Review 2:breakfast was not bad
Review 3:WaWas involved in an accident and hospitalized on what would have been my second night there. They packed up my belongings and put them in storage until I could return. When I did, they remembered me and went well out of their way to ensure that I was comfortable while staying there until my return home.
Review 4:Poor customer service. No car parking as described on booking. Com No wifi poor breakfast. Egg was solid like solid flying sourcers
Review 5:Curteous staff
Review 6:No iron was available. Fire alarm kept goin off in the morning. About 10times or more. Room window was damaged. And also the room was boiling hot. No air conditioning. One of the staff was really nice at the reception (it was her 2nd day working there when i stayed). The other lady cleaning was just ignorant. Tea cups in the room was too too small.
Review 7:Bed was comfy. The hotel was situated in a nice area.
Review 8:The bathroom and the whole room was stinking, bed matrace torn, walls ugly and dirty. No wi-fi!!!
Review 9:Staff at the reception was very nice and willing to help. Bedsheets were clean.
Review 10:There was a horrible smell in bathroom, and room was hot as others have mentioned. Feel it was still value for money though despite this.
Review 11:Room and bathroom were clean and had everything you could need. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 12:The receptionist checked me in then I went out for dinner and she rang me asking when I'm planning on turning up to check in? Don't think she knew what she was doing.
Review 13:Comfy bed, good breakfast.
Review 14:We stayed in the room number 4, in the night we heard a lot of noise from the stairs and in the morning we heard people talking near to the reception, phone ringing and other sounds.
Review 15:The bed, sheets, pillows, shower, the air quality (it was much too warm & there was no way of cooling off except to have the window open at night),the staircase & the construction noise that I wasn't warned about.
Review 16:The free wifi & breakfast.
Review 17:The breakfast room had no cutlery or clean tables. We had to wait 20min to get a piece of toast and when it came it was hard and cold. The coffee was horrible as well as it was old and cold.
Review 18:It was fine for what I paid for.
Review 19:We were given room 4 which is straight across from reception and next to restaurant. Breakfast was from 7am-9am so from them it was very noisy with banging and shouting of people getting breakfast and checking out. The hotel also did not make us aware that construction work was ongoing until you reached the hotel and there was a sign on the door so there was drills going off from 8am on a Sunday!! Breakfast was also a let down as I would have expected fruit or croissants etc however only toast, a poor cereal selection and a fry up as options.
Review 20:Location to the O2 was perfect easy enough to get there using public transport.
Review 21:Could perhaps look at investing in some air con, the room was stifling hot. Had to spend all the time with the window wide open to let what little air there was come through. Please get bigger cups for the tea and coffee facility in the room. Tiny Chinese tea cups means you have to make at least two cups to get a decent drink :-)
Review 22:Room was fairly small, but generally clean and tidy. The staff on the reception were excellent. I work away a lot of the year and most hotels I stay in the reception look like they want to commit suicide and take you with them. The two ladies at this hotel always welcomed me with a smile and I have to say that after a hard day it's really nice to come back to a smiling face.
Review 23:Room very hot and stuffy made sleeping difficult. Only one tiny window. Breakfast no eggs and mushrooms swimming in water are not very nice. Could smell someone was smoking in corridors
Review 24:Room very clean quite at night though we stayed on a Monday night
Review 25:Curtains didn't pull along track and only covered 2/3 of the window. Some sockets had things stuck in them and didn't work. Toilet seat broken. Only small bars of soap in bathroom, no shower gel/shampoo. Very noisy neighbouring hotel, below my window man smoking and listeneing to music on his phone at 05:45!
Review 26:Proximity to my working location and relatively cheap
Review 27:Well all it was the room was just right next to the reception and u can even hear a pin drop so we couldn't sleep all night that room should not be there and the window was cloverd by a wall we had to leave 5 in the morning cuz all night can hear people taking phone ringing
Review 28:Nothing to really like
Review 29:I requested an earlier breakfast than the stated 7am one for that day however there was no provision to provide one. Not even an offer of a continental breakfast. I was not even offered a part refund for joy taking breakfast..
Review 30:The room was very hot and there were no fans or air conditioner. So being in the room (and trying to sleep) was miserable!
Review 31:The staff was very nice and went out of their way to helpful.
Review 32:Television didn't work, Wi-Fi kept dropping out, hot stuffy room, no bar, limited parking (had to park in sister hotel 5 minute walk away),
Review 33:nothing
Review 34:I asked using booking dot com to pay on arrival. I gave my card detailsless the security number on the back of.my card as we needed to invoicesfor three seperate rooms. The hotel took the payment before I arrivedfor three rooms I dont know how and asked them not to...... Be verycarefull with card details..... Not correct or professional
Review 35:The hotel and staff
Review 36:The reception staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The room was very comfortable and clean, the maids ensured it was immaculate on a daily basis. TV and free Wi-Fi work perfectly. Full english breakfast was a good start of day. I will certainly be staying here again!
Review 37:Wifi had a password could not bother to keep going up and down. Did try to call them from my phone but did not pick up. Water tap was so bad hardly any water came out.
Review 38:Clean, spacious big room. Didn't smell. A fan would been good felt humid even the windows where open but was really nice. Friendly staff.
Review 39:Water pressure in the basin was very low - but the shower was all right.
Review 40:Convenience of the location, room perfectly adequate for tow nights, breakfast good.
Review 41:The hair dryer is fitted in every room unfortunally the one in our room was fall off from the wall but the staff has offer us the key of another room and allow us to go in use the bathroom and the hair dryer
Review 42:The aree of the hotel is quiet which allow us have a good sleep at night and don't need to worry about there will be any drunk people when we go back to the hotel at night. The room we booked is a normal twins room but the room is really big and the bed is really comfortable. The staff is really friendly and helpful. After we have check out they still let us left our baggage over there and pick up later for free.
Review 43:The water pressure in sink was very low and upon enquiry was told that this is the policy of the management. Very strange.
Review 44:The location is close to downtown and very convenient.
Review 45:The staff were friendly and helpful, free wifi and I enjoyed the self service breakfast in the dinning room which was very clean, the kitchen was on show which also looked very clean. For the price the hotel was reasonable and I would not hesitate to book again.
Review 46:Internet was neve working, if you go there you can consider no Wifi.Breakfast disgusting, two days hotel was missing towels! So they justtook those dirty and didn't leave any towel!
Review 47:The Location was not bad, close to Ilforsdstation.
Review 48:The mattress was so old was not comfortable at all and the room was right in front of reception, was awkward whilst entering and leaving the room.
Review 49:Wifi and that had a TV in the room and the price.
Review 50:Quality of mattress was average. Walls are quiet thin as could hear TV or even conversation from next door. P.S. Did not have noisy neighbours or such.
Review 51:Staff was very helpful & friendly. Always smiling, which makes you feel welcome.
Review 52:breakfast didn't go on quite late enough, so accidentally overslept and missed it, check out was slightly earlier than would have wanted
Review 53:lovely comfy bed, very spacious room with a clean ensuite, staff were friendly and the value for money was excellent considering breakfast was included
Review 54:The staff was excellent! very attentive and caring, respectful and great to deal with. The location was close enough to the center of London that it is easy to get to and from while being far enough to be quite and calm, with great pubs and restaurants near by. I would definitely come back if I were to visit London.
Review 55:window was broke in friends room...had to use a bottle to keep it open at all times as room were so hot. showers were broke and trickled out, will not be staying again.
Review 56:the closeness to shops etc.
Review 57:I have hut allergies and for breakfast i thought i was having frosties, however it was crunchy nut, it should have said something to say 'contain nuts'. As well as that my room was right in front of the reception, not very quiet and a lot of phone ringing through the night.
Review 58:nice comfortable stay, shower was nice and hot. Clean and digital TV that shows when in bed.
Review 59:They need to put AC on the second floor - rooms were sweltering and this is in October. Window was tiny and opened about 5 degrees, and was against a wall. It made it difficult to sleep at nights. A shame as everything else I found great.
Review 60:Staff were great Breakfast was nice Good location for getting to the rest of London by train Loved the shower
Review 61:the walls were very thin and sometimes you can overhear the guests in the next room (sometimes to a level that you can't sleep)
Review 62:the staff, the bed, the food, the facilities, the warmth of the rooms
Review 63:I was there in a very hot day and thé room didn't have air conditioning.
Review 64:Friendly and helpful staff at the reception. Free parking. Room was nice and clean. I would definitely stay again there.
Review 65:the wifi was too slow. The bathroom was a smaller then expected.
Review 66:Staff was friendly.Cleanliness was appropriate. Great value for the price you pay. Recommended.
Review 67:always call to confirm your booking cos i got one booking cancelled for coming 30 mins later than i said i would.
Review 68:i was re booked in another hotel by the staff.
Review 69:As a disabled person, having to use a room on the first floor when there is no lift. Space for only 4 vehicles parking off-road. Not knowing in advance that the hotel is on a one-way street. Bathroom door limited by radiator. No bulb in bedside light.
Review 70:For a disabled person, having a compact room is an advantage. Convenient location being fairly central but off the main road. Staff very helpful with luggage. Staff concerned about parking difficulty.
Review 71:I was put in room four which was one step from reception so all night I could hear the door bell and guest coming and going all hours . To add insult in my room next to the bed was a soil pipe every time someone used the toilet or a shower I would now about it.i was so tired the next day for work
Review 72:Staff friendly and helpful.
Review 73:Although a good choice, the cooked breakfast was cold, the warmers were not doing their job. Also not enough tables in the breakfast room.
Review 74:The hotel is very well placed for the shops and restaurants of Ilford. Only 10 minutes to the station. The family room we booked was quite roomy, but had nowhere to hang clothes.
Review 75:Windows cannot be fully opened, therefore too warm inside while sunny (no air conditioner), quite thin walls
Review 76:bathroom was not too bad, bed was ok, too, nice English breakfast (though no variation), nice park near, good connection to Stratford
Review 77:I paid in advance in cash and did not receive any receipt. The explanation was that this is owner procedure. I don't think this is compliant with British regulations. In my country, this is called hiding incomes.
Review 78:The commitment of the staff. A nice girl was acting as a one man show - on the reception, cleaning rooms and in the kitchen. Very friendly attitude.
Review 79:Close to public transport. In a very ethnic diverse area: get the true London melting pot experience Cheap eating places near by Won't cost you a fortune (unlike staying in central London)
Review 80:Leaving
Review 81:The hotel staff went above and beyond to make me comfortable and feel welcome. Never was there a hesitation to offer excellent customer service.
Review 82:Smell smoke in the room Very small room Breakfast not excellent Need to take train+subway to get to London center (£9, 1hour)
Review 83:Low price for London in August Wifi Comfortable bed Train station 5min away by foot Supermarkets and cheap restaurants around the hotel
Review 84:浴室设施不是很好;酒店位置有点远。The facilities in the bathroom are not very good;the hotel is a little far away from the city center.
Review 85:房间比较大,而且安静舒适; 英式早餐很不错; wifi很好用;工作人员态度较好。The room is quite big, and it's quiet and comfortable; the English breakfast is good; wifi is working well; the staffs are rather helpful.
Review 86:The mattresses could have been a little bit harder
Review 87:The Staff were very kind. They didn't hesitate to help us, letting us to leave our luggage an extra day without charging extra money. I see an offer of a family room, it has 3 bedroom, one for a couple and two single ones. I asked for pay only for one room to accommodate my parents and me (I'm an adult), and they didn't have any problem. Definitely I recommend this hotel. The only cons it's that is on Ilford, Ilford is Zone 4, however the Train station is 5 minutes walking and paying a 8.9Pounds you have a travel card to travel throughout all London without caring about extra costs.
Review 88:No A/C and the 2nd floor room was incredibly hot and impossible to sleep in. The window could only tilt open by a few inches and the hotel staff couldn't provide electric fans or any alternative solution to the problem. It was a horrible experience.
Review 89:Premises were clean; complimentary breakfast was provided every morning.
Review 90:THE ROOM WE WERE IN WAS BAKING HOT AS IF THE RADIATOR WAS ON (IT WAS'NT) MY WIFE AND I COULD'NT SLEEP ALL NIGHT JUST WANTED TO GET OUT OF THERE A.S.A.P
Review 91:OK FOR A CHEAP B&B MORE LIKE A HOSTEL FOR YOUNGER PEOPLE.
Review 92:Water is not available in room. Inter-comm facility not available.
Review 93:Everything is on better side. For people travelling to central London, instead of going to Gants Hill, go via Ilford Rail --> Stratford --> Central London, This will take 35 mins and will cost GBP 1-2 extra.
Review 94:This is a nice and clean hotel located near good transport links, shops and restaurants Staff was pleasant and helpful. Highly recommended, thanks
