Reviews for Urban House Copenhagen

Review 1:Lockers in rooms could be a bit bigger. Also corridors are a bit mazy but I get lost easily :)

Review 2:Staff are lovely, food is good and well priced. Location is awesome. Everything looks new and well kept in what seems to be an oldish building.

Review 3:Only thing that I was a bit disappointed in was buying a cup of tea (always a rip off anywhere, as the price mark up on a teabag is absurd) and to be handed a cup of hot water with cold milk already added...and the teabag separately! By the time the teabag is added it doesn't diffuse well into the cooled water. But that is a minor thing & definitely not unique to this hotel.

Review 4:Fab location & facilities...very cool place. There was no check-in desk, but we liked this - very easy & quick to get our room code and head straight up.

Review 5:There was no possibility to store our luggage the day of arruval and departure though that was advertised. They send us to the czntral station to rent a locker. That was an extra cost of 16 euro in total. There was no coffee machine in the kitchen. We had a room not on the streetside and with only one neighbour but still heard some noise. It didn't bother us too much as we were tired when we went to bed but i can imagine that other rooms can be noisy.

Review 6:Close to the central station. Big rooms. Clean. Friendly.

Review 7:- Ice cold water instead of hot water in the morning. It was fixed till noon, but next morning - the same problem. - No storage for luggage. It was offered to go to train station and use locker there. - Music at the bar till late night. Should be very tired to sleep one floor up.

Review 8:- Good location - Cozy environment - Staff

Review 9:The facility is great. Service is good they send you details of your room and passcode even before you arrive. It's super close to the central station.

Review 10:Urban House is one of the best hostels I've stayed in. The location, within 10 mins walk of Copenhagen Central station is excellent. We stayed twice in a month and both times the rooms (bunk beds) were clean and comfortable. The linen, sheets, doona and pillow covers and towels were crisp and clean. The kitchen, living, TV facilities were also very good. There's also a market a short distance from the hostel where you can buy food.

Review 11:Locker room was out of service during our stay - only a minor inconvenience though!

Review 12:Excellent location very close to Kobenhavn H metro station, very good facilities (games room, restaurant, bar etc), friendly and helpful staff

Review 13:It's a hostel, so you share a room. Bring a lock for your room locker if you wish.

Review 14:Amazing location, live music and lively common area, comfy beds and clean bathrooms. Cool place.

Review 15:Very good location for this price, close to train station and within walking distance to the Old Town. Very good place for tourists that spend most of time at visiting. Nice bar at the ground floor.

Review 16:I had a bed in an 8 bed female dorm, with bathroom and lockers in the room. It was good cause our room was not full, otherwise one bath for 8 people is rather little. I didn't see any baths in corridors, only one at the reception area. Not perfectly clean, cause I could smell urine in the bathroom, after the cleaning service was done. And I found the kitchen very small, for so many guests. Actually that's the reason I was disencouraged to use it. And I still do not know if there are any fridges for the guests, as I didn't see any...

Review 17:Even if it is huge, it is a clean, very tidy and well organised hostel. Great value for money, central location just behind Copenhagen's Central Train station, excellent wifi in both rooms and common areas. Lovely and super helpful stuff! They seem to control this gigantic place perfectly nicely and smoothly!

Review 18:A flat TV screen promised in room details + photo when placing order - no such thing!! Missing some towels and out of order shower stand (for the shower handle).

Review 19:Excellent location, friendly staff, nice (no plate) small breakfast. We didn't use the kitchen - but it looked great!

Review 20:The laundry facilities has some problem and can't be fixed for days, the only solution is to carry your dirty clothes to laundry shop about 1 mile away. The introduction said it has lockers for luggage storage but actually it doesn't. I have to store my luggage at train station and it cost me 60kr.

Review 21:It's close to central station, very convenient. Walk about 5minutes you can find at least 3 different supermarket or restaurant. Good location. The room is clean and tidy. The hostel offers linen and tower which already included in your payment which is awesome.

Review 22:I really enjoyed my stay at the Urban House! The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly and everything ran very efficiently. I look forward to staying there again when I visit CPH in the future.

Review 23:We arrived earlier than the chec in time, but they gave us the code to our room after 15 min, because of the rainy wheater. Thanks guys! :) The serve really tasty hat dogs!

Review 24:We went into the hostel bar and someone who wasn't with our group pulled on the lights from the ceiling and it hit two of my groups heads causing bumps and bruising, the staff didn't even react to the situation and had no intentions of kicking the idiot out until we made a fuss. They shrugged it off with the excuse of only being open since March so they don't have security, accident form or first aiders in site!

Review 25:The location

Review 26:The system of the hostel is a bit stupid that we cannot find our names in the check-in machines. The hostel may want to make it more systematic to use online method for check-in, however, it takes more time than normal methods.

Review 27:The location is nice. Right besides the main station, staffs are really friendly and helpful to help solve our problems

Review 28:Room was cold even with the radiators on all the time, and we also had some random guy come into our private room in the middle of the night, the doors have a 5 digit code to enter rooms, so it must have been a staff member, who left as soon as he knew we were in there, little scary

Review 29:Very good location, easy check in, great bar

Review 30:All systems operated by electronic keys. So no possibility to check in earlier etc.

Review 31:Good location of hotel. Hotel equipped with kitchen, tv room, lounche, billiard etc. all available for guests. Young guests, lot of youth.

Review 32:We were the room above the bar; it was quiet except from the Salsa night where the music was really loud, however the music was switched off 20 minutes before it was due to finish at midnight so it allowed us to get some sleep

Review 33:Comfortable room, friendly staff and great location and facilities

Review 34:They could maybe attach the beds to the walls, if you're in the top shelf it can move a little bit.

Review 35:The common area is just amazing, really nice staff, rooms are clean and beds are nice, bathroom is extraordinarily clean and big for a hostel. The neighborhood is cool, maybe a little rough, but it's like 1 minute from the central station. In one word: Perfect!

Review 36:The check-in time is 3p.m, it is kind of late, some travellers need a short rest after taking early flight. The kitchen is way too small for so many customers, at dinner times I could't find a seat.

Review 37:Comfortable enough, no check-in so you don't have to wait. The bar has good price and is a nice place to hang out. Use code number so no worry about key or card, very convenient. Good facility and very close to the central station.

Review 38:We stayed 6 nights and only on the last day did housekeeping come to clean up.

Review 39:Great location - very convenient to the central station, bars, clubs, supermarket and all you need for a city stay. Heated floors are a bonus especially in winter & good facilities throughout the building including fast internet.

Review 40:We were on the 5th floor with young children. There were no safety catches on the Windows that opened out to a very long drop. We didn't have to open them as it was winter but wouldn't feel at all comfortable in the summer months up there. The hotel should look at this.

Review 41:It's very central and an affordable option for a large family (we were 6). The downstairs area is great, plenty of room and good atmosphere. Also made a good meeting point for family who were staying else where. We didn't use the kitchen or tv area but it all looked good and was well maintained.

Review 42:I really don't like to live with Koreans! They are so noisy, talking all the time. Sleep very late at night and get up really early in the morning. They packed their baggages, which was really noisy!

Review 43:Nice location! And the bed and the room are not bad.

Review 44:Shower room is not good. I mean it is not enough hot water and also water pressure is so weak. The room is not cleaned up every day.( I stayed for 5 nights. But cleaner came only once.)

Review 45:It's very close to centre of city. We could go anywhere on foot.

Review 46:Rude staff, doesn't offer hotel services for private rooms. Too big and impersonal for a hostel, if you're looking for a dorm.

Review 47:Good location near the Central Station, good bars and restaurants. If you don't mind the prostitutes and drug dealers in the surrounding area.

Review 48:none

Review 49:they emailed me a code to use as my key before I even arrived. I didn't have to speak to a single person my entire stay, but they were easily accessible had i needed them. I was on the top floor so it was very quiet, but i imagine if you were on a lower floor it could be noisy.

Review 50:Late check in time Lockers without locks

Review 51:Perfect location, atmosphere, personnel. Towels/linen are included into the price. There is no feeling that they try to save money on everything (like a lot of other hostels): furniture, linen, bathroom have quite high quality.

Review 52:Many people line in reception.Bed and floor were make wood ,thats make loud noise

Review 53:the music in hall and corridor is great. Therer are many facilities in this hostel. The location is nice

Review 54:Breakfast is not included. Kitchen gets reeeally crowded between 6-9PM (not the staff's fault obviously). Common areas close at midnight. Check out is at 11AM, you just need to leave the room when the time comes, but a staff will enter your room in the morning to wake you up (they woke me up around 9AM) and that annoyed me a bit. Lockers are paid apart as well.

Review 55:It's near the central station, lots of buses nearby, the tourist info center (get free maps and free wifi there), Tivoli (MUST GO) and Lidl (supermarket) are very close too. The city hall and commercial street (Stroget) are within walking distance. The checkin is really simple, after 12:00 you'll receive an email with your password, room number and bed number, so you can enter your room anytime after 3PM. There are lots of common areas: the tv room, the game room, the hangover room, the kitchen, the bar and an open area outside. Chill out there if you're waiting to go up to your room or after a day walking around the city, you get to know lots of people too. The kitchen has many small refrigerators so you can leave your food there. There's also a box with free stuff other travelers left there, so check it out before going to the supermarket, it might spare you a few DKK.

Review 56:Prices in the cafe and restaurant are slightly higher

Review 57:Perfect place if you are travelling alone. Staff is very friendly, young and dynamic. I was lucky to see christmas performance which was amazing!! Clean and nice rooms and bathrooms as well. I highly recommend this place and I will not hesitate to come again in the future! :)

Review 58:Squeaky floors and beds wake you up anytime anybody moves around the room. The tiniest shower I have ever seen. Very small lockers (impossible to store even a hand luggage)

Review 59:Perfect location- 3 min from main train station, 5 min from Tivoli and from Stoget. Good atmosphere. Nice, busy bar downstairs.

Review 60:There wasn't a TV even though the booking I'd made included one, there wasn't a reception at all, there weren't any small lights in the room just the big one on the ceiling, the distance from the elevator to the room was about 5 min walk (endless corridor)! The inner matress was dirty and the towels weren't changed in 2 whole days. No room service, no telephone. No shower gel or shampoo! No shower cover so the bathroom filled with water. You had to pay an extreme price for the luggage lockers. You had to pay 10 euros for 5 games on the pool (pool not free!). In general you had to pay for everything.

Review 61:Breakfast good enough, location pretty good.

Review 62:Not enough staff and many were very rude especially to guests who had limited English. No oven in kitchen and no tv in our room when stated. Should definitely be an R 18 hostel, not right having kids run round inside and throughout the bar!!!!

Review 63:Very well equipped hostel with great facilities and amazing location, 1 min walk to central station. Great space and many places to sit and wind down. Free wifi everywhere and keyless entry was convenient. Would definitely recommend. Had food and drink available at all times.

Review 64:Please add shampoo and conditioner as well as change the towels!

Review 65:The bar was so relaxed and perfect for all ages! Staff members were awesome and very welcoming. Outside garden was adorable and amazing location!

Review 66:Can only check-in after 3pm even though the rooms are vacant. No free left luggage service. We arrived early in the morning, and had to rent lockers at 30 DKK per 6h. Our flight departure time was late at night. So we had to rent the lockers again after checking out at 11am. Poor sound proofing. We could hear heavy footsteps from outside and above our room. For 75 DKK breakfast, we had a much better spread and quality food from D-hostel than Urban. Environmentally unfriendly - use of disposable cutlery and crockery. We were each given a tray lined with a piece of paper with prints. That's our "plate"! We find this rather unhygienic. Mac or BK don't serve their burgers on the tray, do they? Neither do they wrap their burgers on the printed side of the paper.

Review 67:Near the train station. Huge lobby/lounge. It is necessary because all travellers who arrived early needed a place to sit and wait for 3pm checked-in. It was already quite packed in winter. I wonder how would it be in summer. Room is spacious, as compared to the other D-hostel we have stayed in. Place is well decorated.

Review 68:-I booked a room with the possibility to change or delete my booking but they completed the payment after two days!

Review 69:-Full of young people -Near the train station -Nice pub open in the evening -They send the room number and the door code by email so it is not necessary to check in

Review 70:You have to get the locker really early as it tends to get full. The really late check in and the room that we get smelt like toilets..as we saw there's the toilet pipe from the floor above on our ceiling.

Review 71:The location is amazing and the facilities

Review 72:It is too late for check-in! 16:00... Wifi is not working in the room.

Review 73:Location is very good! near station. it is the most clean hostel I have ever seen and very comfortable even in 6people room. I would like to stay again.

Review 74:close to centre train station close to city centre no reception - self check in and out - all things could do online in advance clean ensuite room many common room with different function - nice!

Review 75:The kitchen was to little for so many people, and sometimes no well organized (no little spoons for exemple, induction kitchen, so some of the materiel didn't work, ...) The room was little.

Review 76:The place is great, clean, the location is good, and the room was quiet, even a saturday night.

Review 77:Intet :)

Review 78:Amazing place to stay. Hip, young vibe with a wonderful, international clientele and staff. Just brilliant. Special shout out to Camilla and Katrine: beautiful, kind people. I cannot implore you enough to stay here.

Review 79:After getting in to Hotel at 8 am I was unable to get a room until I complained to staffat 1pm. Staff just let me sit there. I had told them both via email and in person that I was just coming off a 20 hour flight . The place felt like a prison with a code for the W/C , the hallway then your room

Review 80:Position

Review 81:Wifi dropped out a lot so you had to keep reconnecting to it. Wifi is great downstairs in the bar though it would play up a bit in the room, but still worked.

Review 82:Great staff, excellent location, amazing bar downstairs. Spacious kitchen! This hostel has everything you could possibly need. Great lounge and common area. Laundry has its own tv inside. The bathrooms in the rooms are huge and if it's being used by someone, you can use the public bathrooms in the hallway which are very very clean!

Review 83:Very clean and modern hostel, has a great bar where you can hang out. We had a lot of luggage so location near the train station was ideal. Very good breakfast if you are up to paying quite a bit for it

Review 84:Apparently we paid for a design hotel/hostel, but all the rooms had horrible white stains on the wall in front of beds. They told us it was because of tv was being removing. In a first moment, they offered us free breakfast for the inconveniences, but we did not have it (I still don´t know why, it wasn´t serious). Rooms were very cold and the heating didn´t work very well (for my is the most important thing in a hotel in this city, feeling confortable in room).

Review 85:lockers are not enough, we take our luggage from train station to there, and all lockers are full already, even it is in the morning, then we have to take our luggage back to the station again.

Review 86:everyone is friendy and helpful, feeling warm

Review 87:Not having any shelf on the second/upper bunk made it difficult for me to come in and out of the room without disturbing my fellow bunkmates. A nice convenience, if Urban House could add them to the rooms.

Review 88:I think the staff made my stay incredibly easy and comfortable. They always had the adapter I needed to charge my phone or the map to the restaurant I was looking for. Also let me open a bottle of my own champagne in their lobby since it was my birthday - not usually allowed. Very, very nice staff. These facilities were recently remodeled and were in excellent condition/clean.

Review 89:Room had a drain smell and bedroom could do with a deep clean - felt 'grubby'.

Review 90:Stayed 4 nights in Copenhagen. Cool place to stay, great location and lovely staff.

Review 91:need dedicated 'front desk' staff; hotel staff seemed 'borrowed' from restaurant (just because room access is software-driven, does not mean hotel support is not needed); bad location? - at nearest street corner, I was asked if I was looking for 'something good', but did not feel endangered.

Review 92:location, PIN-assigned room access

Review 93:Minus: check-in at 16h is beyond lame (with no possibilities at all for an early check-in), hostel is too big (over 900 rooms) so bar and common areas are way too small for all the guests, lack of atmosphere, kids allowed (running around, playing in common rooms), bar is open until midnight and at midnight you HAVE to leave (people are not even allowed to sit there), they close common areas too. Finally, the entire hispter-wannabe-design/vibe is pretty annoying.

Review 94:Plus: comfy beds, use of kitchen, great bathrooms, it is clean, location is awesome

Review 95:The price is a little bit high for backpackers

Review 96:1. Urban house located in great spot-very convenient 2. They offered variety of service- a hostel includes a very good bar, laundry,WiFi,movie show, lockers, free local tour...

Review 97:Urban House made my trip to Copenhagen much more enjoyable. They have a pub on the ground floor, perfect to have a drink and meet new people from all over the world. Also the staff was superfriendly and helpful. And I didn't expect to have such good conditions for that money:very clean, the rooms, the furniture, the bathroom were in a very good shape, exactly like on their photos, also a good central location. Very satisfied with everything.

Review 98:At 3am during the night, two males entered our room and said they worked at the hostel and were checking to see if there were free beds available.

Review 99:Very convenient location. Efficient check in where I was e-mailed a code to access my room and there was no need to check in at reception upon arrival.

Review 100:The cleaner took our bottles we wanted to return for the tax back we had them collected in a bag beside our suitcase and they where taken

Review 101:The room was spacious the space down stairs was great

Review 102:Cleanliness was a big problem! We stayed for 4 nights and not once were the bins changed or bathroom given a quick clean. With 4 adults in a tiny room and bathroom it would have been nice if the bins were changed daily and toilet roll replaced.

Review 103:Location and staff were excellent.

Review 104:when I arrived in the early morning around 6:30, I rang the door bell but no one answered. It seemed that there was no staffs in the reception desk but there were some staffs cleaning the lobby. I don't know if they aware that someone standing just outside the glass door for awhile and keeping the bell rang, I couldn't get into the hostel until the other early check out guests found me and open the door for me.

Review 105:The location is great, very closed to the central station. The room space and bunk bed is ok. The check in process went well.

Review 106:I had a nice stay at the hostel. Stayed for 2 nights / 3 days without any significant issue. The codes to unlock stuff just don’t work for me since i hate memorizing numbers (Tip- write the code on a paper or ink it to your skin and carry it always, saving it on your phone is good but not 100% reliable since it might get lost or battery might get drained after partying/taking hundreds of selfies around the city). The bunk beds are a bit squeaky so make sure you have earplugs at hand.

Review 107:Didn't recieve our room code until after we had started travelling, but the staff were great on arrival, and booked us in.

Review 108:Fantastic location, surrounded by various good eateries. Room spotless and even had a hair dryer. Friendly staff, welcoming bar downstairs.

Review 109:When I asked whether there was a hair dryer the answer was yes, if it was not in my room it could be picked up at the reception. When I asked the reception there were no hair dryers available and I had to leave my ID for it. It was crucial to let me know that the hair dryers are available but cannot be guaranteed.

Review 110:Very quick and kind receptionists. Great ambiance. Nice WiFi. Good breakfast.

Review 111:Urban House is ideally situated in Copenhagen! It is very easy to find from the main railway station, near the city center, everything is very well organised and the bar is really cool! I recommend this place!

Review 112:It's quite close the the red light district, strip clubs and lots of prostitutes as we discovered on our first night, we ended up in the wrong place!!!!!

Review 113:I stayed here for a little weekend away with the girls in December, perfect location for the train station, shops and restaurants!!! Lovely clean, friendly and lively atmosphere and felt very safe with all the door codes!!!! Would DEFINATELY stay again

Review 114:Only one problem was a plug socked removed with wires sticking out

Review 115:Location next to the central station was good, the bar down next to reception was also great, the fact they text and email you your room number and entrance codes avoids any faffing with checking in - I liked that!

Review 116:Late check-in time meant having to store luggage, which cost money.

Review 117:The staff were friendly and the place had a really good vibe. It was right next to the train station.

Review 118:Room could be a little too warm - had window open all night

Review 119:Great location, easy to find. Facilities clean and fresh. Staff great - friendly and helpful

Review 120:The only thing I regret is, that my stay was way too short :)

Review 121:Just Perfect. A two minute stroll from Copenhagen main station, perfect clean and modern facilities, included restaurant & bar with DJ's providing you with music on weekends... what do you want more?

Review 122:Because it is self check in, it can be a touch disorganized; when I arrived someone was sleeping in my bed already, but a pretty easy fix. Also despite the centralized location and dozens of reputable hotels around, there were two erotic shops and gentlemens clubs very near by, easy to avoid but something to keep in mind.

Review 123:Fantastic location, two minutes walk from the København H station (Central train station), can essentially take you anywhere in the city. Also had a lot of great attractions very near by including Tivoli gardens and the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek. The pictures are of the view from the front door, the room I stayed in, and out my window.

Review 124:Cleaning of the room could improve. The floor and toilet were no so clean (like 7 points out of 10), and with 6 people in a room it should be better. I did not get a new towel during my 4 nights stay. Also I missed a general extra towel for the shower, as some water was leaking on the floor outside the shower area. You could order a nice burger & fries in the cafe, only it was not clear when/how it could be picked up. So my burger was not really hot any more when I started eating. I noticed other guests had similar issues. At bike rental the staff member was very surprised and reluctant I asked for lights on the bike. It was dark already at 16.00, so for safety it was really necessary. It was around 3C outside. Every time the front door opened, there was a lot of cold air coming into the nice cafe area. This was not so comfortable.

Review 125:Great location, overall friendly and helpful staff, comfortable bed, easy without the normal check in/out, nice cafe area, great you can rent a bike on location. Overall a great stay!

Review 126:Our tv in our room didn't switch channels which was frustrating. As the hallways were not carpeted, noise was loud when people walked past the room.

Review 127:Loved the location and the amenities. The bar was great, as was the tv room!

Review 128:Good location, close to the central station and meatpacking district. Nice atmosphere and great design. Very clean and comfy beds! Despite it being November, nice and cosy.

Review 129:No such thing.

Review 130:Very clean, excellent location, nice atmosphere. I liked a lot that you recieve your room number and password at the day of arrival. The staff is very kind and everything is made to feel yourself covenient like you are at home with friends. The price was the best, because this city is a little expensive.

Review 131:A bit noisy, children running around the hallway and people being inconsiderate of others. I know it's a hostel, but you don't have to behave like you're on a spring break.

Review 132:Close to the train station, a lot of groceries stores around, restaurants and bars, clean room, good wifi.

Review 133:Nothing negative for me but not for someone who likes the comforts of things such as tvs, shampoo, etc.

Review 134:Fantastic location (although it is near some 'gentlemens clubs, but I never had any trouble walking past at night), walls are thin but I slept like a baby, everyone was very friendly.

Review 135:Hostel had a great atmosphere and top notch facilities. Our private room was clean and just what we were expecting. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to friends or stay again if we came back ?

Review 136:Bar closed at midnight even on Friday night. You cannot drink your own alcohol in common parts. As the hostel is in the red light district it is very very noisy at night - hostel should consider upgrading glazing to minimise noise. My 8 bed room was nearly fully occupied and toilets get dirty quick. A lot of dust.

Review 137:Modern hostel, centrally located. Busy and so easy to meet others.
