Reviews for Cranford Hotel

Review 1:The staff were really rude as the reception staff women were really rude if you had to ask a question they would answer you in a very rude way plus when it was time to check out we had a waking up call all we said was five minutes to get ready and they give us a answer of no one minute get out

Review 2:Nothing

Review 3:The receptionist who checked us in, I believe her name was Aieste was the loveliest person we met, finding out all information about any place we wanted to visit, providing us maps and discount cards and making us feel like we were at home away from home. What an attribute to the Cranford

Review 4:nothing

Review 5:very helpful staff, I was allowed to check in at 9AM at no extra cost. I only stayed during the day, 9 AM - 7PM. Cant say anything about the breakfast.

Review 6:No ventilation or exhaust fan.

Review 7:No windows in the room which is fine due to unavailability of room which was quite expensive considering the comfort however there should be some exhaust fan somewhere in the room. We were boiling inside the room and had to manage the bathroom fan all night which wasn't still enough. But I say - why not exhaust fan in all property.

Review 8:Breakfast cooked at 6.30 and knackered when kept heated for 2 hours. The Bacon was rock hard and the Eggs where like rubber..

Review 9:Convenient for travel to city

Review 10:The room was dirty asked to move they was rude, considering it was 10 at night and my other half is 8 months pregnant. When we finally moved which I had to pay extra for there was a condom wrapper on the floor, it was cold the beds were lumpy and uncomfortable so by 6 o'clock in the morning we got up and left camping would of been a better option!!!! Stay well clear of this hotel it's disgusting

Review 11:Close to Ilford station. Room was quite small, but o.k. for a short visit. The shower room had been recently renovated. Staff were friendly, and the self service, full English breakfast was appreciated.

Review 12:The room was not value for money It was damp... I hv never in my life stayed in hotel with room like this.. And wud not stay again and wud never recommend it either

Review 13:Staff was very polite

Review 14:Breakfast cold, the bed in my room sloppy, not enough charging ports for all my devices, bedsheets never changed throughout my stay in the hotel

Review 15:Location close to most amenities, staff were of great help, free parking on request, reception 24hours, early check-in allowed on request with no charge

Review 16:Shower bracket was broken water ran hot and cold light fixture was damaged window curtains have never seen soap and water noise outside room as other guests walk past or talk

Review 17:Nice comfy bed,good breakfast

Review 18:Car park arrangement needs improving no bays marked and poor parking meant less cars could be parked there. Room rather small and no chairs provided in room. No plug in washbasin, although reported - had to waste water by leaving it running to wash.

Review 19:Good situation and good breakfast.

Review 20:Two of three beds need replacing. Fair bit of road noise til late. No iron/ironing board available.

Review 21:Value for money. Decent continental breakfast. Good sized rooms. Free parking.

Review 22:The dirty stuff i.e bedding was on the floor outside my door on my way in I could not get in my room. I had to called a staff to removed it.

Review 23:The Asian staff was very helpful and the room was cleaned.

Review 24:Rooms need updating. Ilford rail station & surrounding area does not feel very safe at night

Review 25:Clean, very good value for London, train takes 15 minutes to Liverpool St, only costs £5.10 even at peak hour. Very friendly and helpful staff

Review 26:1 bulb didnt work in bathroom kettle button had to hold down with finger as it cuts out , remote to telly was tempermental

Review 27:Cosy room lovely bathroom great value for money good night sleep

Review 28:Put in a twin room with no windows a broken fan the room was stupidly hot. Asked reception for new fan was brought a 6in desk fan 'no good'. Spoke with duty manager who was going to ring me back regarding a refund still no call back and we are 4 weeks down the line

Review 29:Breakfast was disappointing. The eggs were overcooked and the whites tough, the bacon was also tough. It may be better if the hotel concentrated on a really nice continental breakfast with a variety of cereals, breads and pastries, as the hot food was not good to eat.

Review 30:Staff were very helpful.

Review 31:we had 2 rooms(2 pairs-1older, 1younger)1st was very very small(bed mattress was partly in the entrance doors so you had to push really hard to get in), there was no wardrobe.2nd room was much bigger but missed drawer (it was behind the furniture)

Review 32:location is in 4th zone but 5 minutes from the train which goes every aprox. 5 minutes to the London, travel to tube takes 10 minutes, then to the center another 15. location is very calm and nice. Personnel was very nice and helpful. Room was cleaned daily, bathroom was very small but clean and nice.

Review 33:Although there was free parking, all the space was taken due to the inability of people to park in straight lines close to each other. However free on-street parking til 08:30 was available in adjacent side streets

Review 34:price

Review 35:Rooms were stuffy and bathroom needs better ventilation Double glazing on windows to help block some of noise from outside

Review 36:Easy to find, cheap and ideal as a base camp for a large group.

Review 37:No hot water. Shower that was too pathetic to be useable even if we hadhot water.Luckily I took my own breakfast, but the toast I was offered was stale sliced rubbish. I gather the full breakfast was inedible. I have not yet had a reply to my email complaint - that is very bad manners.

Review 38:Leaving the hotel in the morning, knowing I would never go back!Credit to the night porter he was sympathetic to our problem but incapable of resolving it.

Review 39:No hot water.do not eat breakfast or u will get dieria.they dont make breakfast fresh.mushroom tomato beans everything was yesterdays left over.no bin in toilet.rooms are very very small.

Review 40:Nothing just a parking.

Review 41:A number of niggly bits about the room that made it quite poor: 1 - one window didn't close / lock at the top 2 - carpet was stained 3 - very cheap lock on door. Very easy to break in to room - insecure 4 - bathroom had no hook to hang clothes 5 - shower basin took ages to drain so very difficult to have a shower 6 - very cheap and badly fitted electric sockets in the wall. Difficult to plug in anything as they were badly fitted. 7 - rooms are very small and r suite bathroom is either a converted storage cupboard or a section removed from a very small room to make it ensuite

Review 42:Very good location. Close to local amenities. Easy connection through London Overground / Underground to Stratford.

Review 43:The breakfast was delicious, but even if you didn't like something, there were a big variety of choices of food and drinks. I stayed there with my really old grandma, so I asked them for a floor level room. Even without asking we received the floor room CLOSEST to the entrance which was great!

Review 44:The rooms downstairs face onto the garden,it is not very private as you can't open windows because of guests outside.

Review 45:It is great value for money for overnight stay.

Review 46:Room was quite small. Nice furniture, lovely table, but no chair. It was very hot in the bedroom and the window wouldn't open very far so the heat was unpleasant.

Review 47:Bathroom was pristine. Breakfast was great.

Review 48:They overbooked their double rooms and and tried to put us in a tiny room with a window that led to the hallway but we refused so they accomadated us with something better immediately. Dealt with it well

Review 49:The wifi was not working in my room goes on and off and and a few more vegetarian dishes should be added for breakfast and also telephone lines should be there in the room.

Review 50:The location was good and the place was neat and clean. Enjoyed the stay there.

Review 51:Bad experience. I booked for 7 nights. But cancelled after staying one night. Very small room, not actually double room. They priced for double room, but gave me a box room without window. Even they don't have a fan. Very hot and suffocating in summer time in London

Review 52:night staff not professional at all asking for full payment in advance then refuse to give us the key and insisted to see our id really gave us very hard time me and my 5 years old child we checked in at midnight which mean we were so tired traveling from Scotland and the staff was making it so hard for us and stressed us up in the end he decided to give us the key without looking at our id ! any way the room was a box exactly 2mx2m without window! we supposed to stay there for 3 nights after all what happened we decided to live the hotel in early morning after i booked another hotel in queens park and was less cheaper with very big double clean room .

Review 53:Started up with a rocky start. My confirmed booking done through booking.com couldn't be found. But later a solution came by. The single room was way too small, The floor of the room above made a lot of noise and snoring and noise from other rooms made sleeping for me difficult.

Review 54:The friendly staff

Review 55:first bedroom was the SMALLEST ever, hot, shower door won't close, only 1 towel per person per room, curtains do not open or close, window broken..... They change us to another room a little better.

Review 56:location close to train

Review 57:Only one pillow each and quite hard.

Review 58:Easy access to train station - into London in 15 minutes. Very clean room although small. Breakfast was basic but adequate.

Review 59:Room was smelling from cigarettes, there was no light above the bed, because there was no bulb, furniture rather in poor condition, very small room.

Review 60:Staff tried to be helpful, service was good

Review 61:There were so many white vans there was no room to park my car at the hotel. The hotel has a sister hotel around the corner so I had to park there. There was nowhere to hang my towel/clothes in the shower room. Hook need

Review 62:The bed linen and towels were spotless.

Review 63:I had friends that were staying in rooms, and we had all paid a fair amount of money for those rooms. Yet the guy that was serving would only let us stay at the front of the hotel for maybe 30 to 45 mins. It was my friends birthday and this man made her quite upset. He then threatened to call the police if we didn't go back to our rooms. Worst hotel I've stayed in for a long time.

Review 64:Paper thin walls that let in all the noise from surrounding rooms.. Second night was awful due to partying in neighbouring room til 2.30am. Local area left a lot to be desired.

Review 65:The buffet breakfast was excellent, great quality food presented very nicely, Left with a full and happy belly both days :) Comfortable bed, very clean room. Basic facilities but met our needs. Staff were all helpful and polite.

Review 66:It was very hot no air conditioning what's so ever only one window , not suitable for week stay . The draws where rusty

Review 67:I loved the breakfast and the comfort of the Bed .

Review 68:I was really embarrsad In front of my guest while I took my guest into the hotel. Its wont seems to be a family hotel but instead good for one night stand :)

Review 69:When tap became loose, it was difficult to close. Shower dial did not adjust to temperatures hot or cold. Water kept becoming hotter that any longer in there.... I would have been scalded. They're should be more vegetarian option for breakfast.

Review 70:Location and staff were friendly

Review 71:Water Pressure for shower terrible only a trickle. Only 1 Power point and it was behind the bed head.

Review 72:Extremely friendly, helpful staff and the breakfast was amazing.

Review 73:The collegue I was staying with was unable to sleep due to noisy guests that night I slept with ear plugs in.

Review 74:Close to the centre of ilford which includes various shops and a local wetherspoons pub

Review 75:Noisey guests in my location, WiFi didn't work in my room very well, shower head needed replacing, and a broken toilet seer.

Review 76:Room was cleaned every day,

Review 77:The room was so small very tatty furniture all worn all wires hanging down from the tv and the noise from breakfast clearing in the morning was really loud not everyone wants to be awake at 7 on a Sunday

Review 78:The location is pretty good and near to the tube

Review 79:Wifi was very poor. Sheets did not get changed for 3 nights. Walls were really thin.

Review 80:Front desk staff did a good job helping us with the cancellation of the last evening booking, asking our neighbours to be quiet and letting us park our car for awhile on the last day after check-out. Cafeteria staff made good coffee and served us well. Room was pretty clean and there was no moisure or fungus problem on the window.

Review 81:We wanted to drink water so I asked to member of staff for purchase of drinking water that from where could I bought ? But see told me we don't sell bottle of water and she told me u have to drink from toilet basins so I can't believe there r no drinking water.

Review 82:don`t stay in room 22 this room has got a window in the passageway with a thin curtain so it is like sleeping with the light switched on all night, breakfast was cold

Review 83:The other reviews were right. The shower was not working WiFi did not connect. Very hard and uncomfortable bed.breakfast was cold and not good. No variety at all. It wouldn't have been that bad if I wouldn't have paid so much. For the amount paid for one night was exorbitant compared to the services received. Not worth it at all.

Review 84:Location and staff

Review 85:Shower not working, no cold water from tap, only a couple of channels on tv had a signal, room stank of stale cigarette smoke,no window in room so was very stuffy and quality of furniture and decor in poor condition. Pay an extra £10 a night and stay at the Best Western over the road (AS I HAVE! )

Review 86:Breakfast was fine. Proximity to train station.

Review 87:The whole experience was terrible. Firstly upon arrival it took the reception staff 30 mins to find his booking, resulting in him being late for work. There was also no parking, you state on your website there is free onsite parking. It got worse as he went up to his room. The toilet was leaking, the bed was smelly and dirty and the windows was filthy & disgusting. The duvet cover was not clean, the duvet was paper thin resulting in our engineer freezing & the shower was terrible. The toilet door handle was broken & the noise was terrible. As stated above the engineer was doing a night shift & didn’t get back to the hotel till 1am-2am. This was so bad that at 3am the engineer was so fed up he left & went to sleep in his van.

Review 88:this hotel is very noisy. I could not sleep well for 3 days and at the end I cancelled my booking and moved to another hotel . people talk and laugh all the night and you can hear that clearly. doors of other rooms shut loudly

Review 89:the morning staff is nice, she is helpful unlike the one in the night shift

Review 90:Unhelpful and rude staff with no manners of customer services. Staff argues with customer instead of helping out. Their straight answer is "we can't do anything" in other words they mean to say suffer what you are suffering through. Cold water in shower and wash basin but staff still argues at least warm water is coming which is not good for shower at all. Refurbishment work was going on while staying next room and staff's answer about that is you will have to bear that. A lot of noise and jumping in other room and staff says they will fine in a min. Can't imagine to stay in such kind of hotel with pregnant wife.

Review 91:There is nothing such thing that I could say Yes I like that.

Review 92:Staff welcoming and so friendly Nothing was too much trouble for them. Carpets fresh and clean. Room was cleaned daily giving us fresh towels. 6 item Buffet Breakfast was well cooked and kept reasonably hot in heated tureens. Fruit juices and cereals also provided. Liked 24 hour reception.

Review 93:Not much we didn't like but there was a chair in our room that looked dirty and had a hole in the middle, and the shower wasn't that great, the water was either boiling hot or freezing cold and it was almost impossible to get the right temperature.

Review 94:We only stayed at this hotel for one night, it's in a good location around 8mins from the station and local shopping centre. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was good.

Review 95:Staff was rude. The Asian man. I had 2 friends come visit me. I asked the staff member for help with tv. He came in and saw 3 people in a double room. He was really rude and said that only maximum 2 people allowed in the room. One person left and then he came in again searching the room, toilet, shower again being really rude.

Review 96:No complimentary bottled water to make the tea provided in the room. There was no power socket located near the electric kettle. The size of the room was the smallest I had ever seen.

Review 97:The location and the staff were excellent.

Review 98:I had some issues with the room. When we checked in the room was not ready (I had to go back to reception and report it). After a day I found out that the heater was not working. When it was fixed the window broke and could not close. Everything was fixed by the maintenance stuff within a day (I was offered another room for the time of the rapair) but it was still an inconvenience. Wifi was so-so - most of the time I could connect but not always.

Review 99:Good location, breakfast, friendly staff.

Review 100:Bed wasn't made on arrival, fan in room made horrendous noise so couldn't use, asked for a glass as had bought water and was given a child size plastic throw-away.

Review 101:Tv signal was good.

Review 102:I rang twice prior to arrival to ensure my partner could check in,gave his details, was assured this would be fine. No message was conveyed & he had to wait for me in reception. Receptionist was dismissive & swiped my reservation debit card without asking me my preferred method of payment. Unprofessional service.

Review 103:Cleanliness of room and bathroom was very good, hot drink facility in the room, breakfast included & parking spaces.

Review 104:The heating wasn't working and when it eventually worked it was just for about 1hr or 2, there was no hot water in the shower was cold as icewater, had to be put in another room to shower with the soap lather on my body.....it was miserable.

Review 105:Nothing really to be fair, maybe the hotel is fairly clean I guess.

Review 106:Sausages for breakfast were rank as were the eggs

Review 107:Cheap, warm, clean and located in an ideal position close to ilford town centre. Very comfortable bed and underfloor heating in shower room.

Review 108:One of the female front desk assistant is not friendly. She always carries a frown face which not too good for the hotel. Poor reception

Review 109:The restaurant services was very good

Review 110:I like the price & location free parking free buffet conti breakfast & free wifi kettle coffee tea , the down sides cheap mattress, doors windows only 1 towel no wardrobe no hangers for towel clothes very small prison room but on the whole i would go back for a no frills quick snooze hotel i wouldnt bring my wife here on a honeymoon just the drunk lads

Review 111:As i arrived the staff were extremly rude and i instantly felt unwelcome. Also he showed me various rooms which looked nothing like the photos they advertised online. I am dissapounted with the service and the room and it wasn't worth the money at all i wish i found somewhere else to stay.

Review 112:The only thing i can say i enjoyed was the breakfast in the mornings besides that i think ive paid way too much to stay for two days.

Review 113:Services was more than poor hotel was dirty lices and rodents was everywhere

Review 114:I will like booking l.com to check hotels and rate hotel that has booking.com name attached to it

Review 115:Window in room to corridor, well lit flimsy curtains..noisy fan on wall needed to keep room cool, as was too small extractor fan..bed hard hugely unimpressed for price

Review 116:Staff great, breakfast good

Review 117:Decor very shabby. The advertised lively bar consisted of me alone. Not even any bar staff! Didn't stay there. Doubt I will stay there again.

Review 118:The reception staff were friendly and professional and the breakfast wasn't too bad at all considering it was a buffet breakfast.

Review 119:single rooms are rabitt cage size, card board walls between rooms (expect to hear every word from your neighbor), no shampoo or shower gel (only soap), only one towel per person, only 2 hangers and no closet in room, no place to put luggage on, okay as a budget option (1 to 2 stars), but highy overrated with 3 stars

Review 120:quiet street, fairly good breakfast for this category, newly renovated rooms with good matresses, friendly staff, well working heater

Review 121:The bathroom was unbelievable small. The heating was on downstairs and being upstairs it was very hot, making you feel ill. The breakfast time is a bit too early 7-9am.

Review 122:The hotel was a good location for the train station for the Ilford. There was a reasonable good breakfast.

Review 123:Lack of facilities- no phone, no variety of tv programmes Not comfortable No noise buffering in rooms, could hear conversations from next room,

Review 124:Location, close to Ilford station Cheap Price included English breakfast

Review 125:Broken staircase, the fact that they tried to charge my card before I booked in, hard beds, even harder pillows and only one for each bed, freezing cold shower, or no water at all, no frosting on bathroom window so across the road had a full view, dirty curtains and nets, burn marks on the carpet, having to move the kettle to the floor to plug it in, huge gap under the door.

Review 126:Location, free parking, price, breakfast included, prompt check in

Review 127:I didnt sleep much because i could hear lots of different conversation going on both within the corridor and outside. Each time i felt somebody was gonna open the door because you can hear footsteps. Other things was the staff weren't interactive. The breakfast time wasn't good either as there's not enough room.had to share table and the lady staff just dumped toasted bread in the middle of the table, didnt know if it was for sharing or for me. It was not value for money to me.

Review 128:But the rooms looks clean and good location

Review 129:Very dirty rooms with toilet smell noisy and we spent all the stay without hot water

Review 130:I gave my complain to their mansgment with no binifit or response it was really turible

Review 131:The rooms are very small Ensuite Bathroom is very small The Internet dont work most of the time I could get a better room in the same value in Premier Inn

Review 132:Location Take Away Shops close by

Review 133:Rooms were small and bathrooms were unbelievably small. Couldn't move properly in the bathroom. Shower had manual mixer so either hot or cold water. Struggled to get the mixer.

Review 134:Very close from Ilford Railway station and very close to shops and restaurants. Nice and friendly staff, decent breakfast. Hotel was very clean and neat. House keeping was spot on. Nice place to stay. Beds were comfy for a good nights sleep.
