Reviews for Best Western Plus Wroxton House Hotel
Review 1:There wasn't anything to dislike.
Review 2:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bar was very comfortable and warm to sit in. We soon learnt that the bar food portions were very generous and the food in the restaurant was delicious.
Review 3:Bed with lumpy mattress and pillow, not very comfortable or relaxing
Review 4:Nice room with every necessity, thank you for putting me as far from the Christmas party as you could! lovely hot bath water.
Review 5:There was also a wedding going on the same night we were there which rather dominated the communal areas
Review 6:Restaurant food was excellent. I'm always suspicious of hotel restaurants that claim to have stars etc but this one was really good. My dessert (treacle tart) was really special and service was excellent through out. The whole hotel had a lovely country house feel with fires going
Review 7:The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were incredibly polite and helpful. The restaurant and food was outstanding and we enjoyed eating there both nights of our stay. All set in one of the most picturesque villages I have ever seen!
Review 8:I could not believe the hotel is just three stars! Superb room, everything new, tidy and in perfect working order. But the gem of this place is the staff, we needed bottle sterilising and a few other requests to accommodate our baby. All were met with a smile. The staff made us feel at home. Thank you!
Review 9:The whole team running the hotel were superb. They also catered extremely well for me as I'm Coeliac - the best I have encountered in any hotel so far. Also the food in the restaurant was excellent - served by some lovely staff.
Review 10:The hotel looked pretty and was clean and comfortable inside. Breakfast was enjoyable and my gluten free needs were fully taken into account. Wroxton village is across the road and we enjoyed a walk around it in the early evening sun. Do visit the Blinking Owl pub a five minute drive away - very friendly hosts who provided a delicious Sunday roast.
Review 11:Nothing whatsoever
Review 12:Everything from the moment you walk in the door the hotel staff were all over it, totally on top of their game. Super friendly and efficient, every single staff member made a big effort to make my trip just superb.
Review 13:We loved the relaxing atmosphere of this hotel. Just the right size - some hotels are so large that they are just the same as any other. Here you have a family run hotel with excellent facilities found in bigger hotels. Staff were attentive and went out of their way to make sure that our daughter, who is gluten-free, didn't eat any foods that contained gluten. They substituted any food that wasn't suitable. Even down to checking if the after dinner mints were ok! Our breakfast and dinner was delicious and worthy of the 3 star rating (and more). Decor was lovely. Really can't fault it.
Review 14:Hotel & room were comfortable, clean, nicely decorated. Staff welcoming & friendly. Food very good. Enjoyed the whole experience. Thank you all.
Review 15:It would be lovely to have Wi Fi in the rooms, as well as public areas.
Review 16:We liked the friendly and helpful staff and the very comfortable bed. Despite being close to the road. It is very quiet at night.
Review 17:Only being there one night
Review 18:As I was only there for one night it is difficult to give a full review, however, this hotel is in a fantastic area of the country. If you are into shopping, then Banbury is only 5 minutes away. Historical sites such as Edgehill and Stratford are with a stones throw. If I get another customer visit in the area I would definitely us the Wroxton House again
Review 19:No local ales on draft, I had to go into the village to sample some.
Review 20:Lovely bedrooms. Quality furniture and fittings. It had the feel of a higher class hotel but at a relatively budget price, but I guess this depends on when you stay. Staff friendly and professional. A great hotel to explore the area or when on business. The pub across the way is nice too.
Review 21:Only complaint is the double bed was made of two singles so dipped a little in the middle. Maybe picking at straws here though.
Review 22:The evening meal in the '1642' restaurant was the unquestionable highlight with incredible food and outstanding service. This restaurant definitely deserves a second AA Rosette.
Review 23:There was a strong smell of bleach from the towels in the bathroom - this was obvious from when I initially entered the room. Would suggest less bleach or airing more.
Review 24:Ideally, wifi could do with a stronger signal and higher speed, but still quite useable.
Review 25:Staff are exceptionally good. Room was very comfortable. Food was very good. Will be using this hotel again.
Review 26:No 'bad' experience but the usual flabby croissants/Danish pastries at breakfast. Why can't British hotels make them crispy? During our 2 days stay, breakfast cooked to order once and hot buffet next day. Not the same thing at all. Given the preponderance of local breweries, a sad selection of 'ale' if you didn't want wine with dinner.
Review 27:Room very comfy and clean, though small (and small bed). Staff delightful. Good menu , both restaurant and bar.
Review 28:As used to, good Best Western quality. Great dinner. Good price. Very attentive restaurant staff Breakfast was one of the bests of hotels in the UK We stayed in. Very cosy hotel.
Review 29:I often stay at the Wroxton. Whilst everything is always very good its the outstanding and friendly service that makes such a treat to go there. Mind you the cooked breakfast is also lovely!!!
Review 30:Beware, I have an agreed company rate with the hotel that didn't apply because I booked through booking.com and didn't realise that it didn't include breakfast, until I went to pay
Review 31:Everything about it
Review 32:Breakfast ok but food otherwise very average. Woken up by fire alarm at 02:30 am (false alarm) one out of two nights. Noise that sounded like an aeroplane, which I think was the main water heater started at about 07.00 am intermittantly until about 12:00 at night.
Review 33:Staff very helpfull
Review 34:Nothing.
Review 35:Everything was just brilliant, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel was very clean and comfortable. We could not fault it at all.
Review 36:This is the tiniest of 'niggles' - I really appreciate that vegetarian sausages are available at breakfast time but did without after the first day as I find Linda M's veggie range to be practically inedible.
Review 37:Every member of staff was welcoming and polite. The hotel was spotlessly clean throughout. Plenty of car parking spaces.
Review 38:That breakfast is not included in the price for the room.
Review 39:The room was very comfortable, staff very friendly and hotel itself very nice- i.e. well presented and maintained inside and out with well groomed gardens.
Review 40:we stayed in the original building which had a very low ceiling, my partner is 6"5 so for him this was uncomfortable so if this will be a problem for you then request the newer building. The room was lovely, very spacious with a flatscreen tv supplying many channels. we were supplied with a variety of tea, coffee and chocolate drinks and biscuits, also a bottle of water each. the bed is very high and big which we liked. the bathroom was splendid, very spacious and clean, with a bath and shower. There was a walk in wardrobe with a safe, iron, ironing board and fan. the hotel was fantastic!
Review 41:Great staff who were attentive and friendly. We ate in the restaurant and it is great food well above the normal hotel expectations. Steak was wonderful. This hotel could not be faulted. I have stayed in some average best Western and this is certainly not average and has the atmosphere of a good family run hotel
Review 42:Leaving!
Review 43:The staff were very helpful and friendly. I have stayed in many hotels and this is one of the best for a relaxing break in the countryside. Beautiful surroundings very comfortable and welcoming.
Review 44:The surroundings were very nice, the hotel was well appointed and the breakfast really nice too, but the thing that made the difference was the staff. From arrival we were shown to our room. Food was provided even though the restaurant had closed. The service at breakfast was good. It shows how a few key individuals in an organisation can really make a difference. We did have some issues with the plumbing in our room but I feel sure this would be attended to as we raised it with the reception. For the location, the size and type of hotel, 10/10
Review 45:Absolutely nothing!!
Review 46:Welcoming staff, excellent car parking, lovely clean & well appointed room (quiet, as requested). Delicious restaurant standard evening meal. Would definitely stay again if in the area & recommend to friends. This hotel deserves to have 5 stars!!
Review 47:Slight road noise, easily hear noise from person above room, a little expensive for 2 nights but maybe due to F1 happening nearby, confusion with payment; all card details taken and confirmation email sent, but no actual payment had been made
Review 48:Attentive staff, really clean, comfy bed, amazing location, nice food with interesting desserts.
