Reviews for House Ivana

Review 1:-

Review 2:We truly enjoyed our stay. The room was beautiful, clean and super cozy. The hostess were very welcoming and helpful. Excellent location, in the center of Rakovica.

Review 3:The owners were fantastic, friendly, helpful and the room itself was extremely clean, the bathroom looked new. Bus literally a minute from the property but we walked to the City which was a very pleasant walk. Highly recommend!

Review 4:A large part of our room had a tilted (low) roof. Especially for tall people this may be a concern. In the off-season it is a challenge to find a restaurant, if you don't have a car.

Review 5:The place has a good location, is easy to find and was very clean. The balcony has a lovely sitting area!

Review 6:The room has a slanted ceiling, so there's a great possibility the person sleeping near the wall might knock their head (I did). Our particular room wasn't really suited for tall people. The bath is quite small, making it a bit of a mission to use and wash hair using the hand shower. You need to rent a car to access this accommodation. It's not within walking distance from the bus stop so if you planning on getting to Plitvice with public transport, it's not necessarily the best option. The accommodation does have sufficient, free parking though which was great.

Review 7:The accommodation was very easy to find and well sign posted. The house is only a few metres away from the grocery store, and about 10 minutes drive from Plitvice Jezeera, so was really convenient in terms of location. The heating in the unit was lovely and toasty, considering it was freezing when we were there, complete with frost on the windscreen. We were given a kettle and supper suggestions upon request. The unit is very clean, and has a lovely stoep area.

Review 8:This is quite close to Plitvice, but just want to point out that you need a car, not exactly at walking distance.

Review 9:Very friendly, very spacious, very comfortable. All you could ask for. There was even a balcony.

Review 10:Due to the refugee crisis our train to Zagreb was canceled and when I tried to cancel our reservation (made only 24 hours prior) - and a whole 48 hours in advance of our arrival - Ivana would not allow us to cancel without penalty! We arrived in Zagreb the next day, stayed overnight and drove to Ivana's in order to not lose more money. We didn't get to see anything of Zagreb. I felt that in this situation there could have been some leniency. Booking.com customer service couldn't reason with her either.

Review 11:Everything was perfect, except for 1 thing - compassion.

Review 12:The accommodation is for a good price, but the dinner and breakfast were really expensive and not worth the money. Both dinner and breakfast were OK, but not what you could expect for such a high price (dinner was 13 Euro per person and breakfast 7 Euro). You could see into our bathroom from outside. The window went in front of the building where all the guests passed to the restaurant.

Review 13:The room was very comfortable, clean, really nice. Everything is new and stylish. We spent a nice evening in the "restaurant" part, it was warm and romantic.

Review 14:When checking out we were told that we didn't pay our second diner (we stayed two nights). We did pay in front when arriving. After a short discussion we found out that she had miscalculated. She excused herself. A bit awkward and with a 'double' feeling.

Review 15:We reserved a normal room but got a full apartment. Which is nice except that the apartment has almost no sunlight. You had dinner for € 13 per person, bottle of wine included and a schnappes. Good but simple food. Not too far from plitvice lakes.

Review 16:Friendly staff. We were 2 couples and just stayed one night. Paid 13 euros per person for a dinner reservation. Dinner was a delicious BBQ with a variety of all-you- could-eat meat, potatoes, risotto, dessert. Included was a couple bottles of wine and the hosts would have provided more food and drink if we desired. The dining room was very inviting with a fireplace, just a few tables, and fabulous hosts. Plitvice Lakes National Park is within close driving distance.

Review 17:The bed was too hard for me and the wifi didn't work in our room but it did work in some of the other rooms.

Review 18:We received a very warm welcome from Ivana and her family. The room was nice and large room- good value for the price. Good breakfast.

Review 19:House Ivana was a lovely guesthouse that captured our hearts. Monika andher family were graciously kind and helped us with everything we needed. It was a clean, cozy, warm oasis on the two cold and misty days westayed while visiting Plitivice Jezera, which by the way is one of themost gorgeous natural wonders on this planet. We had been traveling fortwo weeks so we wanted to cook our own meal and they had a woodfiregrill in the garden that they helped us use. It was fantastic but if youwould love to have a home cooked Croatian meal with lots and lots ofwine they also cook a decadent dinner that the other guests were ravingabout! They even gave us some dessert! Don't be timid, book thisplace right now and fall into the warm hands and hearts of House Ivana.

Review 20:Mother and daughter running the hotel very friendly. We had dinner at the hotel, it was very plentiful and included wine or beer, was pretty much all you could eat.

Review 21:Two very small things: shower head needs to be fixed, and coffee was not so good,

Review 22:Very nice stay, completely renovated in 2015, nice staff(ivana and her family I guess) breakfast was way better than normally in those kind of apartments.

Review 23:No complaints

Review 24:Lovely owners - Monica especially was fantastic and really went out of her way to help. (Thanks!) Breakfast was excellent. The room was clean and spacious. Short distance from the Lakes. Would happily go back :)

Review 25:we were a little concerned about what this property would be like considering low cost but it was fabulous. Ivan's is a delicious get full host rooms were clean, beds comfortable. Some low ceilings as we were on top floor but didn't matter. Best breakfast we have had in Croatia capped off by home grown tomatoes. All in all a delightful experience.

Review 26:Wifi and TV didn´t work. The hello was like 1 min this is your room and that´s it.

Review 27:Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is good and worth the money.

Review 28:It was on the main road, so it was very busy and quite noisy. Ask for a room at the back. The internet connection didn't work that well. There aren't many good restaurants around so bring your own food.

Review 29:It was close to the national park, so it was very convenient.

Review 30:We arrived late at night and Monika was waiting us. She was really friendly and helpful. She made us sandwiches because all the restaurants were closed. The apartment was very clean, comfortable and nice. For 7 E we had coffee or tea and rich breakfast. There was free parking and the House Ivana is on the main street. The Lakes are really close - 5 min by car.

Review 31:It was a little bit further from the Plitvice National Park entry than I thought, but still on a 10/15 minute drive

Review 32:The beds were soft and the rooms quite spacious. Ivana and her daughter organised a lovely breakfast and recommended places for dinner.

Review 33:Perfect apartament for family with Young children. Excelent host!! If you can choose no4 apartament. Nice view, generos terace, nice and clean. Thank you Jozo!!

Review 34:Located on a very busy road with lorries driving past the house day and night. There is also no air-conditioning in the flat but due to noise level you can't sleep with opened windows either.

Review 35:Modern recently renovated apartment.

Review 36:Nothing

Review 37:Monica and staff were amazing! The Bfast was filling and delicious ( for an additional 7€ pp. ) and the location was great! Would definetly stay here again!!!

Review 38:Not recommendable if you don't have a car. No restaurant in the village . There are buses going to plitvica national park but they are hard to fetch. But the surrounding is lovely

Review 39:The room that we received was near by the cleaning room where the housekeeper was sleeping and laundry making, so the noise from there was permanent. She needed to enter in the cleaning room every time she needed something to clean and, of course she needed to open/ close the door often. Unfortunately the balcony is common with the every one's balcony and every one can have acces on it. Also the house keeper can stand the washed loundery on the balcony when she needed. The room is not so clean as should be and the contain from the bathroom is unwashed for a long time.

Review 40:- shower without fixation for the brush - we had to pay the same evening of our stay - only cash, no credit card - Complete exposure of bathroom during the night (no blinds) - only a few croatian tv channels (no internationals) - checkout aready at 10 am - loads of little flies on the walls

Review 41:- free parking

Review 42:There is no airconditioning but for one night not really a problem.

Review 43:Very nice welcome by Monica, who is very polite and helpfull. We stayed with 3 families and the rooms were nice and spacious. Bathroom facilities also good. Nice playground for children and free WiFi. We had bbq toghether and it all was allowed and Monica keeps on asking if we need anything, very nice.

Review 44:The cost of breakfast was far much hogher compared with local costs. A wonderful breakfast was available in a cafe not far from this place and a much lower price and in a wonderful location with professional staff

Review 45:its location is very far from the lake area so you should take a bus for 10-15 minutes to go there and it is on the main road so it not quiet

Review 46:the house is very cute designed and clean but the photos on the booking.com are very overwaited. it is that big and good.

Review 47:Not a big fan of the coffee they served for breakfast.

Review 48:We had a lovely stay at House Ivana, the staff is very polite, the rooms look very good and are very clean, breakfast was delicious and diversified. I particularly enjoyed the terrace, which was big enough for a large group and also comfy. Everybody there is trying hard to make guests feel good.

Review 49:not every room has AC. coffe in the morning could taste better.

Review 50:very nice rooms, clean and with very comfy beds, comfy pillows and nice towels. Parking was free and spacious, nice terase to hang out till late in the night. Good location near to a store. Breakfast cots 7 euro/pers, was planty and with good varaiety. Would definitly visit again. I give 10/10

Review 51:We did not like the fact that the price of the room on booking is higher than the one on site.

Review 52:We loved the rooms they were great. The rooms are nicely furnished. They are big. Everything is very clean and the hosts are willing to go the extra mile for you.

Review 53:Wifi was not working. Shower was leaking pretty badly.

Review 54:The room was renovated really nicely. Good little balcony to enjoy a wine out the back. About 15kms from Plitvice National Park.

Review 55:Location near busy road, which made it a bit noisy at night, especially if the front door was left open.

Review 56:Very friendly hosts, very clean house and facilities, good breakfast. Less than a 10 minute drive from both entrances to the plitvice lakes. Not all rooms have air conditioning but we knew this in advance and it wasn't that hot at night, so it was no problem for us.

Review 57:Very small hot room, window opened over the bed so not comfortable when in the bed. Dark bathroom. Few power sockets ( had to choose between a lamp or Charged cellphone). Not that friendly host, difficulties communicating. Picture shown does not even resemble the room, host blamed booking for this. We considered leaving after the first night but just came back very late the next night so we did not had to be in the room. Left early als Well.

Review 58:Location close to plitvice national park and barac caves (but so are lots of other guesthouses in the neighbourhood)

Review 59:No air conditioning (we had 38 °C during our stay)

Review 60:Very nice and helpful family, great breakfast, nice rooms with lots of natural light, shared balcony for sitting outside in the evening is very nice, plenty of parking space, very close to the Plitvicer Lakes and the stalactite caves, the restaurant recommendation was great

Review 61:The village has only a burger spot, but there is a close by village with local restaurants open till late.

Review 62:Service ws very courteous and hotel was easily reachable. Breakfast was homey and needed for the lakes walks

Review 63:There is no air conditioning as it was in the description. By the way there is no hairdryer. it was dump and no heating. They do not accept credit card. Breakfast is not worth it's money

Review 64:Very nice welcom. Nice owner and daughter. Perfect, clean room Breakfast was good. Ver close to Plitvice app. 11 km. Restaurant closeby with great food

Review 65:Monica is very nice. We had a very long tired day as we could not rent a car. So, we took a bus and we was very frustrated to figure out how to go to Plitvice lake as the bus did not run early in the morning. So, she drove us to the park for 7 euro each person at 7 am. She also prepared the breakfast for us earlier which is very nice of her.

Review 66:No A/C (warm in summer), Kitchen with very less utensils and weak wifi

Review 67:very near to Plitvice lakes, spacious apartment, supermarket very near by. parking in the front.

Review 68:Despite the "deluxe room" we didn't had enough space for our luggage (only 2 pieces baggage)

Review 69:Very kind people, they have giving us good touristique advise to visit the neightbourhood. we had a good breakfast.

Review 70:Very nice apartament for family, very clean. Kittchen with all stuff. Owner very friendly and helps us with all info what need to visit around. Play gardend for kids.Good parking place. Not so far from Plitvice lakes. Market, post and bar are near. Was excellent. kindly i recommend for family with small kids, but also for young couples House Ivana. For sure we will comeback for vacation in Plitvice and we will stay again on House Ivana.

Review 71:We were welcomed by Monica and her grandmother who offered us Pear liquer before we had even checked in. We had a choice of a few rooms, all of which were spotless and nicely decorated. Monica spoke excellent English and directed us to the National Park advising us to park inLot 2 and begin our tour from there and then giving us the name of a restaurant for dinner. It was all excellent. We enjoyed the outdoor fireplace and communal patio at the back of the house. A lovely spot!

Review 72:Rooms are nice, modern, well equipped, very clean and comfortable. You have everything you need for few days stay.Great hosts are ready to help and make your stay pleasant and memorable. We had very nice time at House Ivana. Good value for the money.

Review 73:Egy főút mellett fekszik, ami miatt elég nagy a zaj napközben,de vannak belső udvar felőli apartmanok is,amik sokkal csendesebbek!

Review 74:Nagyon kedves háziak!Gyönyörű apartmanok!A Plitvicei tavak közelsége!

Review 75:Monica was a very welcoming and helpful host with obvious talent for hotel business and customer service. Cosy, new, modern room. Location in idyllic counrtyside near enough to the Plitvice National Park.

Review 76:Had a bit of a problem with hot water not being that hot. Had to drive to nearest restaurant.

Review 77:Convenient for national park, clean, modern and comfortable.

Review 78:- Bath shower was not fitted properly, very often water sprayed out of closet. (But, its not a big deal)

Review 79:- Cleaniness of the room - Hospitality - Location

Review 80:everything was great!

Review 81:The host and her grandmother were warm, kind and hospitable! She gave us a free upgrade to a deluxe room although we booked a standard double! The room was very clean and neat, everything was BRAND NEW! It also had a nice balcony attached with a view of her garden. The apartment had pretty flowers all around (we would say the best flower landscape in the whole village!), her grandmother did a really great job! We loved the place!

Review 82:everything was perfect, and the house will surely look amazing once finished

Review 83:The house was under heavy construction but Ivana managed to make us feel like home, having our room perfectly clean and ready. The location was perfect, just 15 minutes away from the Plitvice Lakes. The breakfast was super. And Ivana recommended us an excellent restaurant 5 minutes away, which was our favourite meal of our entire trip. If you go to Ivana's, follow her indications!

Review 84:The room was perfect. Clean, comfy, had everything we needed for our stay. Ivana was very welcoming and kind. She waited for us to arrive which was a bit late but she didn't mind.

Review 85:Everything was fine, honestly the whole experience would be better if only some basic toiletries would be provided (shampoo, soap,...), not a big fault :)

Review 86:The owner was friendly, the room was clean, modern, fully equipped with tv, comfortable and well decorated. parking is right next to the road and house. Breakfast is served downstairs, but make sure to specify your wishes ahead of time (eggs and cold cuts are standard fare - order muesli or something you want specifically)

Review 87:While we were sleeping, in some reason the heating system and hot water stopped. It was freezing in wintertime. We tried to ask but the owner was not answer so we couldn't have hot shower. It was accident but so terrible in wintertime.

Review 88:The room was clean, sofa bed is enough comfortable, wifi was perfect.

Review 89:Ivona&her grand mother are very friendly for us!! Location&Apartment is perfect to get to the Plitvice. They provided us everything what we needed to. We will definitely be stay here again. Point 10 is not enough.

Review 90:Shower was impossible! Ceiling above shower was slanted, making it impossible to shower standing up. Very difficult for 6 ft man to sit in tub to shower.

Review 91:Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 92:Everything was fantastic. Ivana, the owner was brilliant- accommodated us in every way possible including the best breakfast in Croatia! Her home-made relish (avar) was the best I had ever eaten.

Review 93:My friend and I stayed there for two nights and I must say I love this place! Ivana, Monica and her Boyfriend are really really nice and we talked a lot. Since we are the first time in Croatia and we don't have a car, they drove us to the Barac's Cave and Plitvice Lakes with reasonable price. We had dinner and Breakfast there, Ivana cooked well. This House looked very cute and the room was clean. Everything was just perfect! We'll come back again!

Review 94:Bad points - Restaurants were not within walking distance - Would have been nice to have some sun loungers at the top part of the house that is a bit of a sun trap - Road is very noisy - Would have liked a small fridge in the room

Review 95:Good points - Clean - Modern - Hosts welcoming - Not sure why everyone is complaining about the level of English. We had no issues - Nice outside seating area - Room was small but good value for money - Wifi -Close to Barac caves - Close to supermarket - Convenient for the lakes - Parking

Review 96:No cattle to use but you can borrow from owner. No shower carten.

Review 97:Clean,modern room, nice location, nice and friendly family owner!!!! If you have a car nothing to say but Even if you don't have a car like us,it's still fine!! Only 5mins walking from bus stop (Rakovica)which takes you to Zagreb, Zadar and you can also take the same bus to the national park! it cost only 14kn by bus. The house can drive you to there but they charge 20€. There is a super market nearby as well. And there are very adorable 3 puppies!!!

Review 98:To get to the shower, that belongs to our apartment we had to cross the common corridor. Bath tub didn't have a curtain and enough space to put toilettries for two people. Real size of the room does not match pictures. No kettle in the kitchen.

Review 99:Lovely exterior, free parking. Thankfully, we made a reservation for the apartment which consists of the bedroom and living room so there was enough space for our suitcases.

Review 100:The non English speaking grandma , greated us with friendly smile and guestures, which we understood. The owner Ivana and her daughter were very helpful and friendly. The room was very fresh and comfortable.Breakfast was excellent. It was only a short drive to the Plitvice lakes and to some good restaurants.

Review 101:There's nothing I would not like

Review 102:The owner and the daughter were very nice, helpful and friendly. We chose to stay one more night because we had very good rest in the appartment. The nature surrounding is beautiful. The house is a brand new building, very nice. The room + bathroom is cozy and clean. I also recommend their breakfast it was a good and tasty start of our day, the daughter served us and was very kind. Ve were overall satisfied.

Review 103:Beautifull house close to Plitvice National Park, very clean and maintaned to high standards.Host was more than welcoming and couldn't ask for more.Very plesant stay and would come back again...Soon i hope :)

Review 104:The breakfast was not bad but not sure it was worth 6euros each.

Review 105:Very friendly and not a long drive from the national park and lakes. Hint go early (be at the car park gate 2 by around 7.30 to get the 8.00 train (first train) then do upper lakes followed by lunch then do lower lakes . You will miss most crowds

Review 106:We loved our stay at Ivana. Great location to the lakes. Lovely clean apartment, minimal kitchen facilities but Ivana was extremely helpful and gave us anything we needed. We also gave her our washing and she returned it clean and folded. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. I would definately recommend staying here :)

Review 107:no aircondition; the walls are rather thin so you could hear your neighborhoods

Review 108:The room was very nice, comfortable and clean, with great balcony. It's located just 10 min ride by car from the lakes. The owners are very friendly and helpful and we had no problem with late check-in.

Review 109:The owner was EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. The place is super clean and the house is nicely renovated. The owner invited us for a lunch free of charge simply because they were nice. Plitvice nature resort is 15 min drive away. Superb value for money, highly recommended.

Review 110:Absolutely renovated apartment, very clean, one of the friendliest hosts during our visit of Croatia! It's not far from entrance 1 of the lakes, which we recommend to use. We can absolutely recommend House Ivana! If you are coming from the south, make a stop at Fortuna restaurant - we did it twice for both dinner and "Kaffeepause" :-)

Review 111:The lady was very nice and she couldn’t do enough for us. The place was spotless, very, very clean and the room was very nice to. Nice view and balcony behind the house, close to the lakes and caves in the area. I really enjoyed my stay there and it was extremely cheap for the quality that it offered. I would definitely recommend it to anyone travelling in the area.

Review 112:The double deluxe room are very small and cramped, expecially the bathroom. The kitchen had a pungent smell and the dishes are not very clean.

Review 113:Clean, confortable bed, air conditioning.

Review 114:I booked the Deluxe apartment (their most expensive one) for one night for my family and me with a terrace overlooking the nature and a big bathroom. When we came, we were given an apartment with a shared terrace overlooking a loud street and a small bathroom that was in the hall of the house. Since I didn't have booking conformation with me and I was planning this vacation 6 months ago I gave the owner benefit of the doubt and just assumed that maybe I have made a mistake and booked the wrong room. However, next morning at the breakfast, owner Ivana was telling us about some guests that were staying here and came a few days earlier. They booked the cheapest room but upon arrival threw a tantrum about wanting a better room so she gave them their most expensive one. We put 2 and 2 together and figured she gave them ours and put us in their worst apartment. When we tried to confront her about it she started making the most ridiculous and contradictory excuses, finally settling at "we put our guests that stay one night in the worst rooms because it's just one night". At that point we saw that it was pointless arguing with her, she didn't want to admit to what she had done. Not wanting it to ruin the rest of the vacation for us, we let it go. If you still decide to go be careful not to pay the most expensive apartment and get the worst.

Review 115:- Pleasant breakfast in the garden; - Comfortable bed;

Review 116:There are unfortunately a few negative points: It was not very clean. Spots on the blanket, toothpaste on the glass in the bathroom. You have to sit in the bath to take a shower as its not possible to stand. No hooks for the towels. There is a lot of noise from all the trucks from and to Bosnia.

Review 117:In general we are quite postive about the room. The bed was comfortable and it was great to have airco. Its a couple of km drive to good restaurants and the Plitvice lakes.

Review 118:nothing

Review 119:A charming house with a really warming and helpful host. The room was nearly new, modern, clean and well decorated. Additional breakfast is good and great on outdoor terrace. Plivitce lakes is a really stunning area. Should recommend both !

Review 120:Ivana & her daughter Monica are amazing - such lovely people and wonderful hosts. They were very accommodating even though we arrived in the middle of the night way past our estimated arrival time. We chose to have breakfast at House Ivana as well & they prepared such a lovely spread of fresh breakfast food including hot eggs & sausage, fresh jam, juice, coffee, & tea. Great location 15 -20 min drive to Plitvice park

Review 121:Shower did not have a shower curtain, but easily overlooked considering the long list of pros.

Review 122:Clean, spacious rooms with large, soft towels. Good proximity to the lakes. But best of all, an exceptional host family - Monika and family were friendly and accommodating to our every need. They welcomed us with small glasses of local liquor and gave us great advice on how to maximize our limited time in Plitvice. Strongly recommend House Ivana.
