Reviews for Kinmel Hotel

Review 1:Worse hotel I've stayed in in Llandudno. Monday night I got no sleep at all because the room was next to the bar and lift. Someone tried to get in my room twice at 4am. I was given another room. Came back to the hotel after work one afternoon and the front door was locked. Had to wait 45 minutes on the street till the barman turned up for work. The shower was awful. I stay in Llandudno every week in hotels due to work. But I'll never set foot in this one again.

Review 2:Location

Review 3:Shabby room, poor lock, very battered door, bed side lamps didn't even match, one of them had seen better days to say the least, very shabby bathroom, many cracks in wallpaper, bath panel very battered, only one pane of glass, in window, below waistline was toughened, average breakfast.

Review 4:spotless bedding, comfy bed

Review 5:The bathroom light was and remained broken, even when reported. The shower base was filthy and the room was next to the lift shaft.

Review 6:Breakfast was hot, fresh and served with a smile

Review 7:Very disappointed with our room it was very small and limited space to move around the bed etc. It was nothing like the bedrooms advertised on your site. Breakfast was ok. Staff were friendly. Not very accessible if you have walking disabilities.

Review 8:we found the hotel impersonal. No time was given to ask how you were at any time.No key given to the main outside door ?

Review 9:The views from the window were wonderful. We could see the Orme and even better the sea.

Review 10:Very unreliable wifi in room, lady told me it is only for public areas, barely warm bath water at 7.45am, hot later, nobody told me about breakfas time, just two 10ml shampoo per whole stay despite I asked for more, she said they give shsmpoo only at 1st day, 1 nigh there was washing machibe on from 11pm to 3am, duvet is too warm and blanket too cold, many tv programs struggle to operate, squeeky floor wakes up little baby, at 3am receptionist was returning from party with loud male friends, generally I can forgive many things but not lack of wifi in room and no hot water (barely warm)

Review 11:Place, seaview, parking, friendly staff

Review 12:Location & seaview was fab! Hotel is clean and staff is lovely. Free car park too, brilliant! In need of some restoration but price does reflect that.

Review 13:No coathangers, mould growing around shower tray. irratic temprature control to shower. Noisy bathroom extraction fan. bathroom mirror small. No bathroom shelves for toiletries. No vanity Mirror in the bedroom. Sette in the bedroom which took up space but served no real function. Constant humming noise in the bedroom. Breakfast meals cold.

Review 14:The hotel organised a birthday evening meal on our arrival. very good.

Review 15:We got locked out of hotel on first night as got back late and we weren't given an exterior door key despite enquiringly before we left. Very limited amount of parking spaces to tear of building Water not very hot and low Pressure

Review 16:Friendly and chatty staff. Hotel good central location, easy and quick check in, lift to all Floors just slow, bedroom and bathroom pretty much in attic so cramped. Dining room in basement and was well laid out and help yourself breakfast so portion size was pretty much how much you wanted. Bar in hotel was small and served limited amount of drinks.

Review 17:Lovely room with a great sea view. Helpful friendly staff and the cooked breakfast was excellent. We stayed for two nights and left feeling relaxed and fresh.

Review 18:We loved the view, the room was good with window seat and chairs for 'people watching'. Breakfast good but cold plates. Otherwise -can't wait for next time!

Review 19:cant find any fault

Review 20:pleasant room good position even though did not get sea view room as requested at booking , friendly helpful staff good location to shops . Food excellent (breakfast)

Review 21:We were very impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. We also thought the breakfast was excellent and appreciated having real coffee and the hot breakfast arrived very promptly after ordering.

Review 22:No evening meal 1st night not enough guest , meal provided second night choice of two mains ,hotel very tired but beding. and towels immaculate.looks good on Internet but everything looks better when airbrushed paid for a sea view but did not expect such a small room will not return.

Review 23:Such a lovely position on the sea front with views of both the Great and the Little Ormes. Very welcoming staff. Comfortable beds. Plenty of hot water..

Review 24:Shabby hotel, outside hotel to car park were ashtrays loaded with wet cigarette butts and cigarette packets. Sign at front advertised a menu but was told not serving dinner. Would advise people not to stay there.

Review 25:Location. Except even though the hotel didn't semester full, no one in the breakfast room, not that my booking included breakfast, had a very small room on ground floor facing the basement. Shabby room, on,y good thing was had a fire door in my room.

Review 26:The hotel needs a complete refurbishment it is very shabby and dated.

Review 27:The hotel is very well situated on the promenade with a very short walk to the town centre.

Review 28:Not clean, in fact other than the beds/ bedding the rooms were dirty. Good selection at breakfast, but some was not cooked thoroughly

Review 29:Brilliant location and staff

Review 30:My bedroom was furnished in dark 1930s auction style, heavy and space consuming The bed was comfortable, and the lighting adequate (just), but it was not possible to adjust the heating, which was On full stop!

Review 31:Staff were friendly, concerned and interested. The hotel was conveniently situated relative to the Prom and the town, and there was reasonable parking space.

Review 32:The decor and oversize sofa in a small room. In serious need of a refurb in our room and on stair well. The shower was an experience, which could of resulted in flooding the place.

Review 33:The sheets and towels were excellent, as was the breakfast and service. Staff really helpful

Review 34:The room was clean, but a bit tired looking, as was the hotel in general.

Review 35:We had a wonderful view of the Bay from our window. The Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was very good. The Bed in the room was a King sized and very comfortable.

Review 36:Photos on Web Site made it look better than it was in reality. Decor, needed upgrading especially reception area and entrance from rear car park, bar and lounge areas looked run down. We had a twin room on 3rd floor, which was small, you could say cosy which was fine but the bathroom was the smallest area you could possibly squeeze in a wash bowl, wc, and shower, you virtually had to squeeze yourself against the shower to close the door as you could not shave or wash in there with the door open. A larger shelf for guests own toiletries Male and Female would be useful and easily accomplished. I think that Management should seriously consider changing the way the bathroom door opens so it opens into the bedroom rather than the bathroom because if anybody collapsed or taken ill there is no way you could open the door to get them out, very serious comment.

Review 37:Had a Car Park, first come first served. Staff really friendly, especially Ashley who was wonderful nice welcome smile and very helpful and as well as reception served on table for breakfast. Breakfast was excellent with the best scrambled egg I have had in a hotel. Bedroom with sea view, beds comfortable. Heating worked well and controllable.

Review 38:Terrible smell in the bathroom (stagnant water from the shower) and the shower was as powerful and a dripping tap. Dreadful smell spoilt our stay. Car park tiny and had to ask owner to move her car so we could get out.

Review 39:The hotel is situated in a great place right on the front.

Review 40:Put next to the lift, hearing people coming and going. Lift to noisy. Went to breakfast on Sat at 9.15am food was cold. Went on Sun at 8.30 no where to sit. Places were reserved? Not enough parking spaces, doesn't state when booking so had to pay for parking!!!

Review 41:Twin room when booked double ,sloping floors, poorly furnished.no evening meal available, when stated on your website.

Review 42:Sea view and staff breakfast not bad

Review 43:The room was a little old fashioned and dusty. But overall the hotel was comfortable and cozy.

Review 44:All the staff were delightful. Very helpful, kind and willing. Particularly the reception staff. The breakfast was very good.

Review 45:Hotel is a little dated, along with a lot of struggling hotels in uk could do with a little T.L.C. struggled to find car park, also not able to offer evening meal ( lack of guests), late check in (3.p.m.) early Check out ( 10 a.m.

Review 46:The location of the hotel is very good, for our short stay (one night) was o.k.

Review 47:They never cleaned the room whilst our stay And the TV is smaller than the size of my laptop. The sound of the TV was so annoying and squeaky

Review 48:The location is excellent situated on the main stretch promenade. It has a car park in the rear

Review 49:You aren't guaranteed a parking space so we had to find alternative parking

Review 50:Located on the sea front near to shops. Everywhere looked clean. Adequate breakfast and comfy bed.

Review 51:Nothing bad happened but I found the bed springs were very uncomfortable and used a blanket to sleep on but that is probably just me. and there were no shelves in the shower to put shower gel ect. on.

Review 52:All the staff were very nice and the owner was very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were more than we could manage but good. and the place was very clean. we enjoyed our stay.

Review 53:It's unfair of us to comment as we only where able to stay one night due to family reasons and had to leave after only one night although we had 2 nights booking. There where many faults with this hotel but we didn't complain to the owners, we felt it is unlikely that we would return. We do however feel after reading other reviews, complaints don't appear to be dealt with and things like spindles on the stair case not replaced and the terrible sewerage smell from the ensuite appears to be an ongoing problem. I will be a little more careful looking through reviews of hotels next time.

Review 54:Location was excellent

Review 55:The toilet would not flush. We reported it but nothing was done. It was fortunate we had two rooms so we could use the facilities in the other room. The shower was dangerous as the temperature suddenly went extremely hot to extremely cold. The evening bar was not good at all.

Review 56:The location was good with sea view.

Review 57:It's a sad hotel that needs someone to up date it and bring back to life, my son and my I were greeted by the barman/receptionist/handyman on arrival with what sounded like a grunt from this man, trying to book in was very confusing for him as he was on the phone for five minutes with as much as a hello personally I've seen more personality in a dead cat ! The next night we asked at the bar as no one on reception for the wifi password which was pulled from under the bar and thrown on to the bar with out a word, it felt like we were asking for The money out of the till !! Also the room was not cleaned on the second day no fresh towels there was no teaspoon to make your tea with ! Keep away from this hotel as very poor all round ! To me I could put up with the hotel because it is what it is , but it's the people that normally make a good holiday and If this guy is the owner shame on you and if he works there you need to get a job at a funeral parlour.

Review 58:I cant find anything negative to say ........

Review 59:We stayed in room 16 which has a sea view. The bed linen is crisp and the white towels are lovely and fluffy. There are comfortable recliners and a large en-suite bathroom. The buffet style breakfast had a good range of cereals followed by a full English and all washed down with ample tea or coffee. We had a wonderful stay and wish it could of been longer.

Review 60:Nothing

Review 61:Lovely location right opposite the beach Staff very friendly Especially the Barman Breakfast was superb, good quality produce, served nice and hot.Comfy bed, excellent shower

Review 62:Upon arrival we were greeted by an inappropriately dressed and illmannered hostess - extemely rude.Bed sheets splattered in blood and not changed the first time when requested! OUTRAGEOUS! No offer of refund. There were holes in the hotel room walls (inc bathroom) and the noise from the elevator was a persistent irritation. The parking was off the road but spaces were small and in high demand (1st come basis).

Review 63:The location was the only positive!

Review 64:Hard bed, and showers took time to set temperature to correct heat due to red hot water , I think a proper shower unit rather than bath pipes from taps would work better.

Review 65:Convinient to local area and beach, generally good I feel I got what I payed for.

Review 66:Norhing

Review 67:Lovely hotel right On the sea front had really good view of the bay from our twin room, ample parking and a lift, staff very friendly we will defiantly be back

Review 68:Some furnishings and fittings would be improved with updating; for example, the electric shower itself was good quality, modern and powerful in an old cubicle/en-suite that has seen better days. The breakfast could be a little 'hit or miss' on what was available.

Review 69:Comfortable room, upgrade from what I was expecting. Hotel in good place on seafront - midway between pier and theatre. Handily placed for shops. Staff pleasant. Some on-site car parking.

Review 70:Rooms in the eaves, low windows therefore restricted view of bay (one room particularly dark), showers were poor (water either scalding hot or freezing cold - no in between, poor controls / taps). All else ok.

Review 71:Warmth and friendliness of staff

Review 72:No bad experience or things I didn't like.

Review 73:The hotel is in a great position on the sea front and the staff were helpful. We had a back room and I would recommend asking for a front room (obviously not always possible) to take advantage of the views. The breakfast is good and the dining area is also excellent and value for money. Pay the small fee to guarantee a car park space as it gets full quickly and there are only limited spaces. I didn't, but the staff were most helpful helpful in giving me a space as it became available. Really handy for all the sites in Llandudno.

Review 74:For a family room the window sills were really low and when we walked in the windows were open and not on the catch, excited children could easily fall through them.although it's clear that the rooms were being done up ours was definitely in need of a new carpet just to finish the room off. On the last night when we turned the bedside lamp on we found a tablet down the side of the bed between the bedside table. Breakfast was very nice but lacked a little organisation, maybe someone taking room numbers and showing people to tables. That way tea and coffee order could be taken straight away and would speed things up a bit as well. Car park space are at a premium and can get double parked, that being said cars are happily moved if needed.

Review 75:It's definitely a hotel with potential, first impressions ( from the car park) were oh dear what is this. But once inside the reception area and bar were lovey and comfortable as were the garden at the front. Our room (38) was of a good size with amazing views from the front of the hotel, the bathroom was of a good size and the beds consisted of an average size double and bunk beds, these had a removable ladder which helped. Breakfast in the morning was hot, tasty with a good choice of cereals if that was what you preferred. Coffee and tea were broufhtvto our table promptly and were really tasty to.

Review 76:Parking is not guaranteed and this for me was a priority. Luckily I found parking outside, on the promenade, which is free from 4pm till 10 am. Also my mother does not go in lifts and instead of allowing my mother to go through the restaurant to go up the stairs she only gave her the option of waiting or walking around which was I found unnecessary and bad manners.

Review 77:Bartender was really friendly.
