Reviews for Shelbourne Hotel
Review 1:dirty filthy room, poor breakfast cheap bacon & sausage . 1 out of three light bulbs worked in bathroom and none of the bed lights worked above headboard , the bedroom light was thick in dust and between the radiator was even worse I thought it was a dead cat .
Review 2:going home !
Review 3:Nothing
Review 4:The owners were really friendly and advised us of a lovely restaurant to go for tea. The location was great, it was on the sea front and if u went out the back door it was about a minute walk to the shopping complex
Review 5:Attended an event at Venue Cyumu so location was perfect. Also therewere sachets of hot chocolate in the room ..as I'm not a coffee ortea drinker I loved this little extra!
Review 6:The room was old Cool very unkept and was a restless night. Everything was poor so much so I booked the empire hotel for next year before I left so I didn't get this place ever again.
Review 7:The staff are ok and it had a car park
Review 8:Old fashioned furniture and size of room very small the prices for food in the hotel was very expensive £5.50 for a portion of chips and £9.50 for a toasted sandwich
Review 9:The location
Review 10:Hotel needs some updating the breakfast was awful and it cost an extra £6:25 per person. Bathroom was very dusty shower didn't work very well unable to regulate the temperature.
Review 11:Good location, close to town centre and nice walk down promenade.
Review 12:Great location, great price, friendly people, comfortable room, very clean, yes it's an old fashioned kind of place but that's not a criticism.
Review 13:There was not a lot of room to get around the beds and the room was very hot. The last negative, was the bathroom was a little tired and the shower took an age to get hot. These are all minor points though.
Review 14:Good location, amenable staff and the price was good. Overall the room was suitable for our stay and the breakfast was very good, if a little too much!
Review 15:The lift was broken all 3 days, no one offered to carry our luggage tothe 2nd floor, Booking.com describes the room as having a bath itdidn't!
Review 16:On the front ,sea view.
Review 17:As they say in Yorkshire " Nowt"
Review 18:Excellent location, warm and friendly staff, good amenities, very quiet during the day and very, very quiet through the night, excellent breakfast with great table service (nothing was too much trouble) car parking was available and we had no trouble parking at the rear of the hotel with access to the lobby area via a rear door. The hotel was very pleasant with a bar and lounge (we didn't try what was on offer due to being on our trike and we weren't drinking but it did appear to have a good selection of alcoholic beverages), would we stay here again ? Most definitely, we have already booked our next stay. Thanks to all the staff for making our short weekend stay a memorable experience. Martin & Janet
Review 19:Lovely little guest house, staff so helfpul and friendly.. very welcoming and wanted to ensure we were looked after. Breakfasy was gorgeous - freshly cooked and only £6.25pp .. lovely sea views.. free wifi and free parking Will defo go back!!
Review 20:Friendly reception made to feel very welcome with my dog. Travelling alone can be difficult but I was made to feel completely at ease. Lovely clean room and dining room.
Review 21:everything is just spot on...John and Maddie are wonderful hosts nothing is too much trouble for them and if its your birthday ...be prepared for a surprise hahaha x
Review 22:Bed not that comfortable and sofa in living area of flat very uncomfortable to sit on.
Review 23:Good value for money and good location for sea front and shops. Nice lounge area which has sea view.
Review 24:Couldn't get a signal for all the TV channels but this really is a minor thing as we didn't come on holiday to watch TV
Review 25:Welcoming attentive staff, great breakfast, perfect location, I took my little boy for his first holiday and we both can't wait to be back and stay at the Sherbourne and the free wifi is a definite plus
Review 26:The hotel is in an excellent position on the promenade. It was clean and comfortable with helpful and friendly staff. We are likely to book to stay here again in the future.
Review 27:to have to walk to the top as the lift was out of order.breakfast was nice but was cold on the first morning.bar snack prices were outrageous .
Review 28:Location was very good .staff were friendly.
Review 29:Paid a supplement for a seaview, on arrival, were told the hotel had made an error and given the room away a few days previously to a couple who were staying for a week. This being the case, we should have been advised of this before setting off, instead of being informed on arrival. On questioning this, I was quite obviously lied to.
Review 30:Didnt like table in middle of dinning room felt like a fish in goldfish bowl ok if two of you sitting there ,Didnt feel comfortable
Review 31:Lovely friendly staff
Review 32:The shower was not the best, and the pipes were starting to come away from the wall.
Review 33:Good wifi connection and free (not expected, from the description). Ample parking, great seafront location. Optional breakfast suited us fine as we don't always want a big breakfast every day.
Review 34:Wallpaper hanging from ceiling....... Make sure you read up on how to get to car park at rear before you rurn up! Go past hotel on left then turn left and 1st left again. Then turn left as you reach blue house!
Review 35:Room Very Clean
Review 36:Check in and check out was easy with no fuss at all. Room was more than adequate with plenty of tea/coffee etc and bed was comfy too. Ideal place for an overnight stay.
Review 37:Nothing , everything was great
Review 38:Very accommodating and made us feel very welcome. We booked on the actual morning of going. Everything was spot on. We took our dog and she was made to feel very welcome too, even the other guests made a fuss of her...and sausages were cooked for her for her breakfast, these were waiting for us wrapped in foil at our breakfast table ...lovely touch... thank you . Great location right opposite the sea. Complimentary toiletries along with fresh white fluffy towels. We had a lovely drinks in the hotel bar. Had a lovely time... will definitely go again
Review 39:Very friendly & helpful staff, very good service at breakfast & first class Full English. Small bar but good selection of drinks & draught Beer good, comfortable lounge sea facing. Tea,Coffee making facilities in rooms.
Review 40:staff not polite and next day asking us to pay again for our stay...ridiculous!...and the lady at the reception very rude...great location but hotel conditions (3 stars !!!) very poor and staff not polite
Review 41:only location
Review 42:Would have liked to have had a tub and shower but that is the only drawback and a minimal one at that.
Review 43:The Shelbourne is located on the promenade in Llandudno, right across from the beach. Excellent location for exploring the seaside area and local attractions. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order in a comfortable dining room. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very well-priced for the area. Off-street parking and free wifi were lovely extras. A splendid value.
Review 44:The hotel was just to warm which made me uncomfortable. Dining room at breakfast was to warm to bare and I had to actually leave to cool down outside.
Review 45:The location was perfect for our visit to the Theatre and the Orm. Pleasant, friendly staff. Great views from our room.
Review 46:small room with everything you needed which made it a bit cramped but only there for 1 night.
Review 47:Location and sea view. comfy bed and Free wifi. Helpfull staff. Car parking on site.
Review 48:Unfortunately we did not get a sea view, but that did not detract from a wonderful hotel and stay!
Review 49:Liked that their was car parking available. The staff helped us in everyway.
Review 50:No hot water, no cold water, no working shower in our room. Heating was on full too. Although we were offered the use of another room, we just opted for the use of the shower instead.
Review 51:It was comfy and basic which is all we wanted for the price.
Review 52:I went with my daughter in a twin room which was between lounge and dining room. Luckily it was out of season but I can imagine it would have not been the best. The floors were really squeaky both inside and outside the room. Not a very good shower and hot water tap in sink didn't produce any water at all.
Review 53:Bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good although we weren't asked if we wanted white or brown bread
Review 54:Not much .... wee bit of difficulty getting in but I would not say it spoiled my visit .... I liked this hotel
Review 55:I liked ... location .. cleanliness.... breakfast. ... standard of room ... free wifi and parking ...
Review 56:I don't eat breakfast in the hotel. There was a creaky ceiling in the bathroom of my room. There were 2 out of 3 lightbulbs out in my room ( makes it feel a bit uncared for) but maybe I'm just being a bit fussy!
Review 57:Room 18 is my favourite. This was the 4th time I'd stayed at the Shelbourne. It's convenient for my Christmas shopping weekend. Everything within walking distance. The parking is great. No need to worry. Handy free wi-fi The beds are comfy and clean
Review 58:Very noisy guests. Loud talking, dog barking and doors repeatedly banging until 12.30 and started again at 6.30 am! Not young people!
Review 59:Room, breakfast, position, staff
Review 60:Staff really friendly, free parking, breakfast excellent and service, location was the best. The room was really comfy with tea, coffee and biscuits. Would definitely recommend. Sat in bar at night overlooking sea front.
Review 61:The staff couldn't be more helpful, with directions and general inquiries as well as a welcoming smile at breakfast. Rooms were nice and clean and overall it was a really nice place.
Review 62:The customer service wasn't very pleasant. Just because we were a young couple we were put in the flat & were told that fact on arrival which made us feel unwelcome. Bed in flat was hard as nails, shower was intermittent, parking was terrible. We came bk one Friday evening to find NO PARKING spaces. Whilst struggling to get into the available & very tight space, male manager of hotel just watched out reception window. Price of room expensive with no inclusive breakfast. On arrival at 2.30pm also, room wasn't ready when it states check in 2pm.
Review 63:I liked the flat that we were in & the location of the hotel was great. Really enjoyed the shopping, arcades and sea front in the area.
Review 64:The room was a little tired looking and at the back of the hotel on the third floor. But clean and comfortable. Had a bit of a problem getting the shower to work, but as we were only there for one night it did not mater too much.
Review 65:Food, staff, public rooms.
Review 66:The bedroom was pokey and not very clean. The shower also not very clean and was so very small. I am only a size 16 so only a medium size but getting in and out through the extremely narrow door was incredibly difficult and I am fairly nimble.
Review 67:The sea view was beautiful
Review 68:Room advertising said it had a bath , only reason booked here, when arrived was told single rooms never have baths, the door to the room had to be lifted to open or shut it, as it had swollen . there was no privacy in the bathroom , which overlooked the street, just a net curtain on the window, the bin was still full of rubbish, and the staff weren't very helpful when told , will not be coming back
Review 69:The bed was comfortable and clean
Review 70:Ensuite was tiny My sister's room =couldn't move in it and it wasn't a double. Too much furniture in it Bed side lamp was ripped Toilet wouldn't flush paper Ask to see room first and that you have the space to move
Review 71:Bed was comfortable Loved the cotton sheets Shower was good Breakfast was ok Parking was handy Good location
Review 72:Being locked out on our arrival, both front, and back doors. Tired from the hot long day, we just couldn't get in, as the receptionist was too busy. Had to sit outside for a while waiting for another hotel user to leave the building so we could make our entrance.
Review 73:Close proximity to the town and beach. Breakfast food, and service. Comfort of room, and bed. Towels were numerous, and covered all our needs for a family of 3. No late-night distractions from all night revelers, or their banging of room doors..
Review 74:A little disconcerting finding a locked door on arrival around 4pm. Once it was pointed out that there was a sign to ring the bell we saw it but this was obscured by flowers from a hanging basket.
Review 75:Very clean, quiet room with a comfy bed and good shower. Good supply of tea and coffee in the room. Friendly staff. Great breakfast.
Review 76:This hotel had a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The room was bright and airy and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast option was well worth the money and had a full English breakfast with cereal and fruit juice. The location of the shelbourne is perfect for the beach and so close to the pier and the lido. The view from the lounge window at night with the sun setting over the pier was beautiful. It had a lovely family run feel and we can't wait to return there soon. A lovely peaceful place.
