Reviews for The Black Bull inn
Review 1:This particular room was a bit too cold, and there was no shower. The bath ran hopelessly slow. We stay here regularly, and usually get a better room than that for the same money.
Review 2:We like the location and the Staff are good. We like the general atmosphere.
Review 3:Evidence of appalling hygiene in our bathroom. Dirt and grime (that could be wiped with a toilet tissue so not difficult to do) around shower and toilet. That's bad enough but then we realised the shower had the water pressure of a damp squid!!!! meaning you literally had to rinse one body part at a time. This room should not be let until these problems are addressed and without some major plumbing work it's highly unlikely the water pressure can be improved. The owners know this but still decide to let it. Beware!!!
Review 4:Very friendly staff, great location
Review 5:We were delighted with our spacious room and very comfortable bed. all the staff greeted us warmly and were very helpful. The breakfast was of a high standard and very delicous. Thank you very much.
Review 6:Not the fault of the Black Bull but one customer did make a remark about me having a dog. I wouldn't mind but my dog is far better looking than the person who commented.
Review 7:Comfy, value for money and quiet.
Review 8:The shower was either scalding hot or ice cold with no happy medium. Plan on taking a bath in the tub...
Review 9:Nicely located in a quaint little town that has several nice antique stores within walking distance. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was delicious. Dinner and drinks in the on-site pub/restaurant was a nice way to finish a long day of traveling. The building is very old but well kept.
Review 10:Despite the good food and friendly staff the experience was spoilt by the lack of cleanliness. Examples, ---hairs under the table mats which were almost stuck to the table....sticky surfaces and dirt in the bedrooms. Shabbiness, due to the age of the property, is fine but no excuse.
Review 11:Friendly staff. Interesting old building. Very good breakfast with wide choice.
Review 12:We had to climb 2 flights of stairs to our bedroom.
Review 13:The Black Bull was situated in a convenient place. The room had plenty selection of hot drinks offering fresh milk if desired. Lots of character.

Review 29:made to feel unwelcome and details of the parking staff did not worry if we parked or not. location of our room was told just to go up 2 flights of stairs. breakfast was at a set time so no surprise but we waited for 30 mins before we recd our breakfast. room was in need of various forms of repair. bathroom fitments falling off wall. overcharges at bar for drinks/meals got a refund back when challenged. felt we should not be there very unwelcome visit. room view of car park and small bus station with youths making a lot of noise. also nothing in village. would not recommend.
Review 30:The meals served in the pub was excellent and very good value.
Review 31:The shower hanging off the wall , shower hardly worked , broken stool in room , very old and grotty pub/hotel/b&b , staff when 1st arrived made us feel like we dont belong by blanking us for 10 mins on arrival , to busy talking with locals
Review 32:Woman at breakfast , lovely lady with a nice breakfast , very friendly
Review 33:It was good to be near the centre of Wooler and there was a nice buzz in the pub.Lovely staff, very good breakfasts and the pub meals were excellent. I had salad one evening and it was beautifully fresh, and I am used to picking my own from the garden! The Milan was also excellent, very food and service. Great holiday
Review 34:The decor and demeanour of the Black Bull is somewhat dated and in need of renovation. There was a bit of noise at night from young people hanging around the car park/bus pull-in next to the building. The car parking spaces were a bit of a lottery if returning early evening as sometimes they were taken by people visiting the restaurant next door.
Review 35:The staff were all really helpful and friendly. The food was good and the portions generous. The location was great for visiting Northumberland
Review 36:My wife is coeliac, which we had advised the hotel about. We have found in the past that many hotels do not understand what that entails. The Black Bull, however, laid on gluten-free sausages and gluten free bread which they toasted in a dedicated toaster.
