Reviews for Imperial Hotel

Review 1:The heating was a little hard to control in the rooms and it did get a little to warm.

Review 2:Rooms and beds very comfortable. Service was always good . The swimming pool, hot tub and sauna were excellent as something to do when it's not so good outside. Ate in the restaurant and both the breakfast and the evening meal were very good.

Review 3:We would have preffered to us the changing facilities within the spa rather than have to go back up to our room in wet swimming clothes

Review 4:Having breakfast overlooking the bay

Review 5:One sleepless night due to the exceptionally high winds causing a banging noise on the 5th floor. However, the staff were understanding and accommodating.

Review 6:Very friendly, accommodating staff. I requested a change of room from the 5th floor, as the high winds experienced prior to New Year, caused disturbance. The change of room was handled quickly and effectively.

Review 7:Nothing

Review 8:Everything The staff were all very attentive and helpful. I had booked a party of nine to celebrate a diamond wedding anniversary, they couldn't do enough for us it was excellent.

Review 9:Price quoted on Booking.com was not correct and we had to pay the difference.

Review 10:Room was spotless upon arrival a credit to house keeping. We requested a quiet room and the one allocated was just that.

Review 11:Wasn't informed there was no bar food on the Friday night due to the various Christmas party being held in the hotel!

Review 12:Friendly, comfortable Afternoon tea was excellent!! As were the breakfasts. In fact all the food was good.

Review 13:Enjoyed a lovely one night break in November, had a delicious dinner in the restaurant. We were given a standard room on the top floor which was adequate if a little on the small side. The bathroom however was clean modern and had plenty of room.

Review 14:Very dissapointed with room on 5th floor there wasn't room to swing a cat and couldn't control the heating it was like a sauna Did complain to staff

Review 15:Love the location been there numerous times

Review 16:The spa/massage treatments aren't available Sunday's so if you go for the finale of Rally Wales you can't make use of them. Just a minor point the therapist might consider for future Rally weekends.

Review 17:The staff were friendly and helpful and my room was spotless. The swimming pool and jacuzzi were never too busy and were a real selling point for the hotel when the Novemer storm was raging outside! Breakfast was very good and the staff were vey efficient at getting everyone seated and served. I highly recommend the Sunday roast dinner.

Review 18:The room was far too hot. With windows open and the use of a fan borrowed from reception it was still very uncomfortable. Needs air conditioning.

Review 19:The peace and quiet, delicious food, the helpful and friendly staff and the location

Review 20:V windy weather. And our room windows rattled constantly, with wind howling through the extractor fan in the bathroom. Windows vibrated and added to the unnerving, noisy experience. Food mainly average, and Sunday lunch only thing on offer on Sunday evening. Not a patch on last year's stay.

Review 21:Location

Review 22:Limited Parking facilities. Price of food above the average. Visit was in the off season so would not like to try to park during peak holiday period

Review 23:Good facilities and good location. Food very nice although slightly expensive.

Review 24:The room was a bit too hot even though we turned the radiator off it still came on.

Review 25:Everyone was very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant food was very good. In all the whole hotel was top notch

Review 26:The room was immaculate, the bathroom was amazing with a beautiful free standing bath tub. The hotel staff were very friendly especially the bar staff!

Review 27:hanging baskets needed changing!! food was not available to hotel quests in the afternoon altho when I asked on two days for sandwiches they were provided and they were excellent.

Review 28:Car park very small although we were allowed to double park leaving car keys with reception staff to enable them to move our vehicle if necessary to allow other vehicles to leave.

Review 29:Staff very helpful and friendly. Room was very well equipped, clean and with a comfortable bed,the bathroom was very large although the shower lacked power. Good location for the town centre, and beach. Plenty of choices at breakfast which was freshly cooked.

Review 30:Car part was always full. But good that there was no restrictions/parking fee after 6pm to 10am. So was able to park right outside hotel overnight.

Review 31:The health suite was excellent. Breakfast was tasty too.

Review 32:The only concern and maybe the reason we wouldn't return is the lack of private car parking space to the rear of the hotel. It was suggested that we park on the promenade, but there was no room in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.

Review 33:Location, staff, room and food were excellent, really made a nice weekend.

Review 34:Sea front Hotel, very efficient and welcoming staff..everywhere well looked after and spotlessly clean, our twin room was roomy with all the amenities one would expect for a quality hotel, with a clean and comfy bed. The food was well cooked and served by wonderful staff, everything glided along like a well oiled machine. The pool and spa facilities were great too... Would definitely recommend to friends and would definitely stay again. We stayed there with friends for a private birthday party the staff couldn't have been more helpful ! :)

Review 35:A particularly windy night, gale force winds, the hotel was noisy because of this (rattling windows, was concerned a one point they might blow in!) There was no double glazing so made it very loud, but it was a stormy night so I imagine it is usually a lot quieter

Review 36:Friendly and helpful staff, very nice breakfast

Review 37:Nope!

Review 38:The warm & helpful reception from the moment we arrived. The excellent disabled facilities & great service. A good start to the day with a lovely breakfast served by friendly, courteous staff. Very convenient for Venue Cymru

Review 39:There was a tendancy to rush us at breakfast - waitress was there immediately & we had little time to decide on menu. Hubby had to go back to room fror glasses & she was there straight away when he came back in .

Review 40:Room was nice & comfy. Food was really good.

Review 41:The guests in the room above were very noisy until well after 1am moving furniture and walking heavily around then TVs on loud

Review 42:The location and the facilities of the hotel

Review 43:The staff were helpful, friendly, and most attentive and chatty, the food was excellent with lots of choice. We felt''special'' as guests should feel in a hotel of this quality.

Review 44:Restaurant a little expensive and options for lighter meal on the terrace a bit limited.

Review 45:Excellent staff in every department, really liked the room. Choice at breakfast was good and was nicely cooked and presented. Food in restaurant (dinner) was excellent. Choice of wine good and reasonably priced

Review 46:Everything felt a little crooked, the floor creaked as I walked (I'm not enourmous!) and set all the hangers in the waredrobe to clatter, the furniture set against the outside wall all seemed to lean away from the walls. The socket used for the tv also omited an odd wail/whisteling noise when plugged in and turned on which was worrying, thankfully The hotel has ample wifi so i usec that instead!

Review 47:great location, lovely staff, decor is nice, clean, welcoming, comfy bed and decent bathroom. lovely view of the sea.

Review 48:We paid extra for a room upgrade to a Suite and it was worth it !We were joined by 4 family members in the hotel restaurant ,after which we returned to our spacious suite for coffee.

Review 49:Poor lunch on first day. Ordered about 1.50 pm and thought that the food ( salmon, new potatoes and salad ) had been cooked well before this time. Salmon was dry, potatoes were not freshly cooked and salad was wet and not crunchy as you would expect. Very disappointing.

Review 50:Excellent bedroom containing everything one needed. Public rooms were very well kept and were comfortable. Very good breakfast served by attentive staff.

Review 51:Bar prices were quite expensive. If they had been a bit cheaper we might of lingered longer in the bar - £11.30 for two medium glasses of wine!

Review 52:Very comfortable room and large en suite. Good choice for breakfast and very pleasant friendly staff.

Review 53:The atmosphere of the hotel was that of a very well run business. The staff were always polite and eager to please. Now that we have found it we will be back.

Review 54:Car park small .Bedroom too small . Rather unsafe for older people.

Review 55:Good location and facilities .Nice pool . Food very good.Staff alert , friendly and helpful .

Review 56:we have stayed 3 times this year and had an excellent bedroom each time with good service and very pleasant staff. We will certainly be returning again very soon.

Review 57:nothing to dislike here

Review 58:once again we cannot praise this hotel enough the wonderful and helpful staff, the food , location and comfort cannot be bettered.cant wait till we go again at twixmas

Review 59:Room was incredibly hot all night, even after we opened all the windows. View of carpark from room. Headboard squeaked every time one of us rolled over in the night and kept waking us up. Not a great sleep. Décor could do with updating a tad.

Review 60:Spacious room, swimming pool, excellent breakfast, location

Review 61:The parking situation was less than ideal. One of the reasons we chose this property was because it had parking and we had a car. The parking lot was quite small and we ended up having to park on the street..

Review 62:The staff was very friendly at check-in.

Review 63:did not have a bad experience

Review 64:everthing.friendly staff high level of cleanliness room on fifth floor had a small balcony with table and chairs.very pleasant to sit as weather lovely.highly reccomend a stay.

Review 65:We were allocated room 516 which was sold to us as a Sea View room. We can tell you that it is not it had a balcony with a huge brick wall that ruined any view from the room. The room was very small and hot and ventilation with the wind rain as we were on the roof of the hotel. Obviously roof extensions. There is no way that this is a Sea View room also there was an extra £30.00 charge per day.

Review 66:The staff were very friendly and helpful Both the Bar and Restaurant food were excellent. The Hotel was very clean.

Review 67:We did find rooms to be very hot without any controls/

Review 68:Hotel excellent and very clean. Due to mobility problems we decided to use room service in the evening and found this to be reasonably priced and efficient

Review 69:The restaurant on a Sunday is not to be recommended especially as dinner is basically warmed up leftovers from lunch. The parking is a nightmare. It is a long walk for a 94 yr old to the pier or Great Orme tram and there are no buses or shuttle services; why not in a resort for the elderly?

Review 70:The location, the service, the comfort and the fitness facilities.

Review 71:My friends and I liked everything about the hotel; staff, location, food, rooms and especially the wall-to-wall sunshine you provided for the 48 hours we stayed with you.

Review 72:We liked the room very much lovely and clean, tea making facilities good, Bed was nice and comfortable, the breakfast the next morning was first class,we would stay in this hotel again and we will recommend it to our friends.

Review 73:Room was a little too warm to sleep comfortably.

Review 74:Cleanliness of room and comfortable bed. Breakfast excellent and staff efficient and helpful. A well managed hotel.

Review 75:Parking is a problem, but I dont know what they could do about it. Breakfasts very good but would have liked a wider range of breads.

Review 76:Food excellent, so was the service.

Review 77:Bad art on walls, scruffy displays in lobby, poor charmless welcome, being expected to pay bill up front, poor coffee at breakfast, flavourless fruit, too many breakfast items pre-packaged, limited TV options.

Review 78:Size of the room, bathroom, wifi speed, room service, raspberry cheesecake, perle las salad, breakfast marmalade, milk in China jugs, friendly waitresses.

Review 79:Car park very small but we were lucky to get a space, otherwise it's on street with meters.

Review 80:Room at the top of hotel had a good size bathroom, another room for getting dressed and a reasonable sized bedroom with balcony overlooking the Little Orme. Breakfast in terrace area very nice. Location right on Sea front. Easy to walk up town to shopping and restaurants.

Review 81:Service frantic during breakfast, waited 25 minutes to order breakfast asked twice to be served as forgotten about, when this finally arrived it was dried out. People of a older age group did not wait as long when being observed, first come first served basis for promanade view at breakfast. Going to pool in dressing gowns through Hotel lobby and lift areas as no changing room at pool? Don't think this is appropriate in a 4 star hotel.

Review 82:Pool was nice, but reservations about no changing room facilities. Wifi good.

Review 83:It's not a dislike, more of an observation. Neither my wife or I use the fitness and swimming pool, (we are both poorly sighted and find it difficult), but the high price includes these facilities. It would be nice if there was a price for non users of the fitness area.

Review 84:The location was ideal for us. We were able to walk to all of the places we needed to visit. A weekly bus pass at £17.50 was a wonderful investment. The bus service was excellent and we were able to cover quite a large area.

Review 85:The room was too small and on the 5th floor at the back of the hotel. The sound of the kitchen fans could be heard from the shaft in the corner of the room this noise was continuous until midnight and woke us up at 7am the next day.

Review 86:The breakfast was good and the view from the front of the hotel was lovely.

Review 87:No drop off point for luggage or guests, inadequate parking, which makes life difficult for disabled guests. Not a complaint, but the dinner could have been better for this class of hotel.

Review 88:Brilliant location, really enjoyed dining on the (enclosed) terrace, very good room.

Review 89:Wish we could have upgraded to a. Sea view outlook at back of hotel very dismal .

Review 90:The service in the restaurant ,the food was excellent and the breakfast was cooked to order no buffet which we liked.

Review 91:The fire alarm going off when we were in bed asleep and when we asked the next day the reception said it was a false alarm. Surely a phone call to the room to put us at ease because we were on the 3rd floor and Iam disabled would not have been to difficult.

Review 92:room spacious and clean

Review 93:Limited parking. It was a bit of a nightmare. Two false fire alarms!

Review 94:Swimming pool. The Polish girl who kept our rooms clean and topped up, she was really lovely. Lifts for luggage etc

Review 95:didnt like the fact I asked several times for parking options, no one mentioned the hotel car park my room over looked. I came across pool, spa & beauty fac as they were near my room, no mention of them from staff. 1st morning breakfast had to cajol someone to serve me. Eventually got breakfast, dried wrinkled food obviously had been sitting around a while. Didn't like being seated next to the table where staff dump dirty pots.

Review 96:Hotel & location 2nd morning breakfast quality & service much better, more of what I had expected

Review 97:It's a classic "old style hotel" but with modern facilities and friendly staff. It was a treat for me and my daughter and we'd definitely go back again.....

Review 98:The standard of the bedroom was excellent - we were upgraded to a seaview room and enjoyed the views from the windows. The friendliness and care given by all the staff was excellent. Hotel was well located for both the promenade, pier and town.

Review 99:Something really small - possibly the waitresses could wear a clean apron when they are serving the guests.

Review 100:Lovely Staff, Food Great, we sat in the conservatory for our meals and its was very nice

Review 101:Bedroom was a little smaller than we expected but was well presented and comfortable.

Review 102:Location is wonderful, Breakfast was really good, pool really good.

Review 103:Guests seemed to be having trouble with the bedroom access 'keys' and I had to return twice to have them reprogrammed. Staff were great about it.

Review 104:When checking in, our grandson was given a lovely bucket set for the beach, what a lovely suprise.

Review 105:There are over 90 rooms apparently and only 25 car parking spaces, this was a problem, if you don't want to pay for using your car you have to be on your toes to get a place. if you are dining in the menu is small and the the meals are expensive but the they are really good and they will go out of their way to oblige.

Review 106:The hotel in beautiful, it is very wheelchair friendly, we asked for an accessible room and they obliged, the room was spacious and comfortable with a walk in shower, the room was at the rear so the view wasn't brilliant.

Review 107:The staff could have been a bit friendlier but it's not a major issue to me.

Review 108:I've stayed at this hotel ever since I was a child, it is a big part of my family history and I love the fact that it hasn't lost its spark. The location is perfect, right on the promenade and close to the shops and other attractions.

Review 109:Parking is a problem! Although we used the facilities - Mint Condition, we both felt that it could do with a bit of a spruce up, especially in the pool/jacuzzi area and the steam room.

Review 110:I went with my daughter for a birthday treat, we had twin room which was really comfortable and had a lovely bathroom with everything provided. The restaurant is very nice, the food is exceptional. We used the sauna and pool and had a few treatments with Amanda in The Beauty Lounge, absolutely delightful weekend.

Review 111:There wasn't any entertainment or enough music.that there wasn't enough milk and sugar in the rooms.

Review 112:The cleanliness of the hotel and our room.

Review 113:The Wifi was a little on and off at the time of our stay but did not spoil the visit.

Review 114:Very good breakfast and friendly staff. good quality food and served hot.

Review 115:The meal on the Sunday night, it was cold and not very appetizing, we didn't think we got value for money, we have had better in a pub (we had the Sunday Roast) we told the waitress but she said she would speak to the chef, but no apology .We had the Crème Brulee for dessert that was fantastic.

Review 116:First night , food was delicious, our waiters were very friendly and attentive.

Review 117:Thank you for a great stay. The staff were very helpful although we had little cause to ask for their help in anything. The evening musical entertainment was great we loved the harp music on the Friday and the piano/saxophone on Saturday. Will try and stay with you next time we visit Llandudno

Review 118:we loved everything about this hotel room on top floor lovely, quiet, clean modern, with very comfy bed, excellent breakfast so much choice, perfect location, what more could you ask for.

Review 119:Room overlooked car park and a noisy ventilator outside. Far too hot in the room and all over the hotel.

Review 120:Location was perfect. Even though it was a standard double room it was spacious and a fabulous bathroom. Even got a parking space. Only had breakfast but the food was very good.

Review 121:Nothing read above.

Review 122:The staff were very efficient friendly and nothing was a problem. Rooms ,Facilities and Food were to very high standard considering amount of people/traffic Imperial Hotel standard of attention to cleanliness very high indeed, other hotels could learn and take heed/lessons from standards set by Imperial Hotel.

Review 123:Some of the staff were a bit snotty and there were not any young people staying other than ourselves

Review 124:The facilities were great and the room was well equipped

Review 125:Parking..given room where we could hear ventilation shaft..room adequate but overpriced..different story if we had had a better room for price paid.

Review 126:Excellent location

Review 127:SERIOUSLY FAR TOO HOT IN OUR ROOM. It was very, very uncomfortable. The double bed was uncomfortable too. our 4yr old grandson slept on floor as he didn't hav a bed to sleep in.we paid £215 for room just 1night b/b.

Review 128:The room was great and bathroom was great.

Review 129:The only issue we had was the toast with the breakfast was cold A few mucky looks from the older ladies using the swimming pool when myself and my 8 year old daughter got in the pool even tho we was very respectful and stayed at the opposite end of the pool while they where lane swimming.

Review 130:The location was excellent could do with more onsite parking spaces. Made to feel very welcome

Review 131:Noisy extract fan in bathroom (room 119). Congested parking - though I know you can't really do anything about that> The delays in getting out were not all that long as you arranged to move doubled parked cars out of the way. I had to do some quite interesting reversing manoeuvers but I needed the practice!

Review 132:Friendly staff, good food and accommodation.

Review 133:seagulls !!!! but there you are can't be helped !!

Review 134:excellent location staff very cheerful and helpful, we felt that the rooms were quite warm possible air con needed

Review 135:Very, very small bathroom it was disproportionate to size of the rest of the room. Bar, restaurant much too hot - air conditioning would be useful - surprised it's not already installed especially with regard to the star rating the hotel holds. Parking at rear of hotel very limited.

Review 136:Location, room

The Fine Print

The only animals the hotel accepts are guide dogs. There is some free parking available on site. However, this is on a first-come, first-served basis.
