Reviews for Bentley Hotel
Review 1:Only negative statement would be that the lack of a lift and a number of stairs would make it difficult for elderly people.
Review 2:Very well situated next to Motherwell Railway station. The staff were friendly, the breakfast was good, the room was enormous. A problem with lack of hot water was quickly sorted.
Review 3:Room 104 had blinds but no curtains. I struggle to sleep when the room is flooded with external light and traffic noise. The staircase carpet is in need of a good hoover.
Review 4:The welcome was good and the breakfast was very good.
Review 5:Water presure weak and bathroom taps so close to sink water nearly unaccessable. Wifi utterly useless and was unable to access email over the two days as a guest.
Review 6:Location good
Review 7:Comfort,good service, close to publuic transport. My recent experience in The Watermill dosshouse almost convinced me never to book with you again but the Bentley has redeemed you in my opinion.I will return to it on my next visit to the area.
Review 8:Although comfortable I had a very annoying squeaky mattress..Lighting in room was a bit dim. Shower was adequate. Extend free WI-FI to all areas.
Review 9:Location and staff. Breakfast was excellent.
Review 10:The bedroom carpet was stained and the bathroom door was very dirty so was the skirting board.
Review 11:The staff where helpful the breakfast was good the room was comfy.
Review 12:No snacks available but did manage to rustle up a sandwich at lunch time. Plenty meals to choose from though No toast with breakfast or offer of a second cup of tea.
Review 13:Location
Review 14:The rooms where basic but it was very comfitable
Review 15:Staff where very friendly and helpfull the train station is a five minute walk round the corner ,easy access to explore will stay there again .
Review 16:Directly behind the train station and still so quiet easy for travel links. Can come and go as you please reception closes at 11pm but the night porter listens out for you coming back
Review 17:wifi didn't work in my room (top floor) you needed to be in th reception/lounge areas.
Review 18:Friendly warm welcome in the late hours. I travelled as alone with two young children and arrived very late (gone midnight). I was greeted warmly and the receptionist could see that all we needed to do was check in and get to sleep. She said we could sort registration in the morning and pointed me on my way. The no fuss approach was much appreciated/
Review 19:I was in a single room which overlooked part of the roof with, presumably, extractor fans from the kitchens. The noise and smell made it impossible to open the windows on a very warm day.
Review 20:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was also very clean.
Review 21:The area was nice and quiet. The staff were polite and helpful. My room was booked as a single but I was given a twin which was much bigger and I had the pleasure of watching a bowls match from my bedroom window. I would definitely stay again.
Review 22:The hotel is in a good location for Motherwell itself, but when we went for a walk around the town centre, there was little to see/do. It was quite rundown with lots of £1 shops.
Review 23:Our room was huge! More like a suite really, complete with a 4 poster bed. The staff were really friendly and the food (we had dinner and breakfast) was lovely.
Review 24:All the stairs, the room utterly stinking of cheap air freshener (I had to wash my pyjamas the next day as the smell was so strong), the filthy remote control and very weak shower pressure.
Review 25:The location to the train station and the breakfast for £60 pre night was decent
Review 26:The nothing is too much trouble for the staff. We were out early each morning for work so they exchanged the breakfast for a packed lunch to take with us.
Review 27:Staff are excellent friendly and welcoming. Rooms are light and airy breakfast is lovely.
Review 28:Friendly Staff. Very clean beds and substantial breakfast. Close to train station and reception open late. Quiet location. An imposing building seen from outside. Inside more modern and rooms much fresher than the pictures on the website suggests. Perfect for travellers.
Review 29:The ill fitting louvre doors to the bathroom with a screw nail as a handle turned a pleasant room into something cheap and tacky.... what a let down!
Review 30:Pleasant and helpful staff.
Review 31:Really not welcoming at reception, then given a room at the back of the hotel up 2 flights of stairs up and down dips and corridors - although hotel half empty damp in shower , very damp smelling towel - all which I did not complain about as I had come for a night out. The next day, although I took out my purse to pay and the receptionist told me that "no payment at this stage" handed me a receipt which said "payment received", she phoned me 10 minutes later on way to station, and said that I had left without paying and my the card details did not work. At which point I burst into tears as I thought something had happened to my card, but gave her my card details again in the street. ...The whole stay experience was made totally unpleasant and was actually avoidable.
Review 32:The breakfast, the young man who served breakfast was polite, the two members of staff who smiled and one who phoned a taxi. The location would be good for someone travelling by train
Review 33:Bathroom small sliding door not secured properly very noisy when opening and closing banging against wall. NO Replenishment of coffee and milk second day off stay. Shower small. No Shampoo or shower gel Street and traffic noise could not leave windows open at night. No Curtains only blinds. We had to go looking for staff to serve us breakfast at 8.40am Work in hospitality ourselves so we do know how difficult and hard work it is.
Review 34:Clean Room Close to Train Station good public transport
Review 35:Room 201.TV didn't work and the door lock was fitted backwoulds.so you had to lock the door to keep it shut.
Review 36:Food and staff realy good.location good.
Review 37:Room was very shabby. A very tired and old fashioned hotel. I was in a single attic room. Mattress was very soft and the whole bed moved. I didn't use the shower as it was mouldy.
Review 38:It was close to the train station
Review 39:Comfortable room, could do with some modest refurbishment. We were attending a cat show and the situation was ideal Staff were all very helpful. Breakfast was fine and stated early, which is what we needed.
Review 40:Shower didn't get hot, radiators need bleeding as they only get hot 1/4 way up so room was cold. No wifi in room so couldn't Skype. Food was average
Review 41:Tried hotel as an alternative to big chain hotels and found staff friendly helpful staff, comfy bed,
Review 42:Draughty windows and front of drawers on dressing table coming away.
Review 43:This was my second visit and I will certainly come back again. The staff were friendly and very helpful. As the hotel did not have many guests I was up graded to a double room which was much appreciated.
Review 44:Bedroom very cramped. Very little space on one side of the bed, which made it awkward to get into and out of. Bathroom very small with little room to move.
Review 45:Staff very friendly and helpful and welcoming. Excellent breakfast. Hotel situated very handily for reaching town centre. and railway station. Very clean and tastefully decorated. Plenty of hat water.
Review 46:Shower room was not very clean due to timber facing boards on base of shower. This should be made of PVC so it is easy maintained when cleaning. This would also transform the look of the shower room.
Review 47:Overall a very enjoyable stay . Warm welcome and caring staff start to finish. Food was first class bar area friendy and cosy.
Review 48:Nothing, it was great!
Review 49:The location was ideal for my trip, a short walk from both the train station and the venue for the party I was attending. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. The staff were all very friendly!
Review 50:Very noisy cistern in cupboard through wall. Had little sleep 1st night.(though remedied for 2nd night.) Expelair in bathroom not working. Light on headboard not working. Layout of single room awkward - because an old building.
Review 51:Excellent location : Very friendly staff : excellent choice for breakfast.
Review 52:Not there long enough to offer an opinion
Review 53:Staff were very friendly check in went very smoothly, the location was great for my business appointment a very nice stay.
Review 54:We had a brill time as myself and new hubbie just got married didn't make a fuss as what we wanted staff were excellent couldn't fault food or room and thank you card will be sent after our honey moon x x
Review 55:Room was clean and perfectly adequate for what we wanted as we were visiting the Ryder Cup. Food was very good with an excellent breakfast. The staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. Providing a breakfast at 4.30am in the morning was very much appreciated. Value for money was exceptional.
Review 56:Less impressed by the bathroom. Plasterboard was falling off the ceiling. Cracks in the side skirts did not help either. Refurbishment of bathrooms needed. The curtain did not stretch all the way across which let some street light in.
Review 57:The staff were friendly and very helpful. The food was good and served quickly. The location was ideal as it was very close to the station - very handy if you have a early train to catch! The room was largely fine. The bed was comfortable. The shower was fine as well.
Review 58:It was not the hotels fault but was woken by a couple arguing in next door room.
Review 59:Staff were very good at helping with requests and it was a very good location for going to the Heritage Centre and using the trains.
Review 60:Not allowed any guests in the room whether they stayed overnight or not, check out time at 10am, the tv remote had the back missing, piecies of the wallpaper missing from the wall. It wasn't a terrible place over all, just was definitely not worth the money they're charging, its more like an overpriced bed and breakfast than a hotel
Review 61:It was comfortable and the staff were very friendly
Review 62:Enjoyed our stay at the Bentley.Close to railway station but no noise and convenient for Glasgow. Staff very helpful.Nice large room. VFM as they did not increase prices for . Commonwealth Games
Review 63:Breakfast rather basic would have preferred more items with bacon, eggs, sausage and tomatoes
Review 64:We liked the quietness and comfort of our room plus it was no problem us arriving late
Review 65:We had a spacious attic room but it this envolved a lot of stairs.
Review 66:The position of the hotel near the railway station meant it was easy to get to the Games.
Review 67:Lack of pride to exterior fagbutts strewn out side of main entrance. Poor maintenance of front area gardens/shrubbery. Very tired bits added here and there. Worn carpets dated decor. They have a chance to be an outstanding hotel if only they closed down for three months and transform the place.
Review 68:Price location to Glasgow
Review 69:Noisy people in room upstairs. Not many food options on high street.
Review 70:Very helpful staff. Good breakfast. Nice room. Staff went out of way to provide iron and board.
Review 71:Poor waitress service at breakfast - staff remote and unenthusuastic. Is it fair to complain about a free breakfast though?
Review 72:Rooms clean, spacious and comfortable - more of a suite than a room.
