Reviews for Llandudno Bay Hotel

Review 1:The bed was uncomfortable, plus all night the light from the hall shone under the door. I'm light sensitive so this could just be me.

Review 2:It was well presented bright and clean

Review 3:This is the second time we have stayed, last time we paid £100, this time it was £135 for exactly the same room! Its not worth the extra £35 in our opinion. Parking is a bit of a nightmare as the hotel doesn't offer parking. Bathroom a bit on the small side .

Review 4:Really nice and clean hotel, comfy beds. Lovely breakfast. Staff friendly.

Review 5:The staff were excellent, the Christmas jumpers were a great touch. Breakfast cooked to order and was the perfect start to the day. Can't fault them. This hotel is everything The Grand could and should be. Best in Llandudno.

Review 6:Breakfast service a little slow even though most tables empty. Narrow beds!!!!

Review 7:Location was excellent. Lovely sea views- although somewhat spoilt by the terrible weather! Bar staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

Review 8:The only things I didn't like were that the bathroom was very small and the hot water took forever to run hot.

Review 9:I loved the décor, the location and the food was excellent.

Review 10:the slamming of bedroom doors late at night by unsociable guests, and waiting for the lift in the mornings while cleaning staff used it.

Review 11:The choice of 2 lounge areas, the service, the staff, the choice on the breakfast buffet.

Review 12:extra cost for breakfast additions e.g smoked salmon, pancakes and so. most hotels include this service as alternatives. road side parking a pain

Review 13:breakfast very good. rooms well kitted out. dressing gown spot on.

Review 14:There are still some teehing problems relating to recent refurb, for example the bedroom curtains don't close easily (they are too heavy for the curtain track) The rather small mirror in the room is badly positioned.

Review 15:Location, Staff

Review 16:N/a

Review 17:Lovely room and great location with sea views and great facilities, great staff and atmosphere they even gave me the remote for the tv in the bar so I was happy 10/10

Review 18:Single bed was slightly listing to starboard, no idea how or why, but very comfortable otherwise if you hung on! Am sure it was an anomaly

Review 19:Spotless and stylish. Great breakfast. Great staff.

Review 20:Room was very small for a twin, it was on the third floor and hard for my 88 year mother. I did inform the staff of her age.

Review 21:Customer Service and the magnifcaient views. The hotel was newly decorated which gave a feeling of cleanliness.

Review 22:Bedroom too small and was cluttered with too much in a small room. Wardrobe wouldn't open easily in its position. Bathroom very small, shower cubicle far too small. Corridors in hotel very narrow. You had to squeeze by cleaners trolley. Expected more for 4 * new hotel. Seemed to be trying to cram too much into available space.

Review 23:Food excellent. Dinner and breakfast. Great location overlooking bay.

Review 24:I organised a birthday treat for my partner and they delivered it to perfection. It was perfectly timed. The hotel has been finished to a very high standard.

Review 25:I wasn't keen on the narrow single beds. would have preferred a 3ft.

Review 26:the staff were exceptionally friendly and very kind to my disabled husband and myself.

Review 27:The showers was fine but if you're a bit bigger make sure you have a big bathroom or you'll find it a squeeze.

Review 28:Very friendly staff, lovely rooms. Breakfast and evening meal were very tasty. Great views from the seaview rooms. Can't wait to return when the spa opens.

Review 29:Staff were condescending as I was a young person travelling on my own. Disapproving looks and condescension was not what I paid for. Only real downside for me.

Review 30:Great location right by the sea with lovely facilities & great food.

Review 31:Only one tiny thing the bathroom was far too small. Shower tiny and toilet cramped. All very clean

Review 32:Everything about the trip was great, the food in the restaurant for both breakfast and evening meal was lovely first class

Review 33:We found the room on the top floor very small and had problems getting in & out of the bathroom however after pointing out my concerns at reception we were moved to the second floor were the room was excellent ,We found all staff very pleasant and helpful.

Review 34:nothing

Review 35:The location and views are superb, the whole place is in an ideal spot and the staff are so attentive and friendly it was a pleasure to stay here

Review 36:Very narrow hard single beds. Very bright lights in the restaurant in the evening ...no atmosphere. Receptionist Not very welcoming

Review 37:Good location. Good breakfast

Review 38:My partner and I stayed here for one night in a double room with sea view on a Saturday night in early October. You can instantly see the hotel has recently been renovated to a very high standard. There is a real feel of class and elegance about the hotel. Checking in is very quick, the forms are already printed out and just require a signature. The hotel is about a twenty minute walk from the pier and affords some great sea views. The double room is just large enough, the bathroom is perhaps ever so slightly too small. The toilet was right against the bath with a small gap on the other side before the wall. Although this is not a big problem at all. I imagine the deluxe double room affords more space if that is what you need. The dining area for breakfast is stunning with great views of the promenade and sea with relaxing background music. The breakfast is superb with cereals available and you can choose what you want on your welsh breakfast fro the menu. We were the first to arrive for breakfast and so the service was very quick. The dining restaurant is a good size but I can imagine from 08:00 - 09:30 on a weekend it gets very busy. I did not dine at the hotel but I can imagine it is of a very high standard. The staff are very friendly, polite, professional and responsive. Overall, I would have no hesitation in returning to the Llandudno Bay Hotel and can recommend it. If you plan on spending more time in your room and like more space then book a deluxe double room. The sea views are stunning so I recommend booking a room with one.

Review 39:Not made aware of the limit on the cost of evening meal as we had gone for a inclusive rate,so presented with extra charges . Twin room beds very small and hard . Shower cubicle very small and the size of the sink in the bathroom is ridiculous, impossible to use to clean teeth.

Review 40:Great friendly staff, fantastic food. Very clean modern hotel.

Review 41:There were no tissues in the room. The position of the lavatory paper holder required a contortionist. The curtains would not close or open properly. At dinner staff seemed too preoccupied with their own conversations, so the service was slow.

Review 42:The location on the sea front was brilliant with the view from our room. The room was very well appointed and comfortable. On the whole the staff were very efficient and helpful. Room service was good.

Review 43:Very long waits for breakfast on both days of my stay.

Review 44:Everything as above - beautifully restored hotel, modern and elegant and retaining lots of the old character. Great staff. Great food. Lovely public rooms with plenty of sofas and arm chairs to enjoy sea views.

Review 45:There was no heating on around the hotel, it was very cool especially the restaurant! Menu quite limited & service was slow! Breakfast we had to wait to be seated.

Review 46:Decor was lovely.

Review 47:Every thing was perfect for us. Beautiful room. Little extras like slippers and lovely fluffy dressing gown provided.. Breakfast was superb. Parking on roadside

Review 48:Mum was in a wheelchair, no access to the hotel, had to be carried in my porters, which worked well but would have been easier with a ramp. No disabled toilet(one is under construction).....small room(208), couldn't move around in the wheelchair, impossible to get to the toilet without carry Mum in there, very difficult.

Review 49:The outside look of the hotel was very inviting, clean and tidy. Staff helpful and very welcoming, easy check in.

Review 50:Down to earth very accommodating and friendly. I've stayed here twice now on business and have recommended it to my business partners should they need somewhere with easy access to North Wales. I will be back time a and time again. Many thanks to all the staff. I can compare this hotel to many as I stay away a lot the week before my first stay I had stayed in a 5star hotel in Bath @ £400 a night not including breakfast. On the eve of my engagement to my girlfriend. I only wish I had received the same degree of hospitality as I do in Llandudno Bay at that prestigious Hotel.

Review 51:My room key would not work on three occasions and had to be changed. This was done promptly by the staff.

Review 52:Friendly staff; cleanliness was first class; room was well appointed and equipped.

Review 53:Tiny tiny bathroom and even smaller shower cubicle, couldn't shower without constantly banging your arms and elbows. real shame as the bedroom was very comfortable.

Review 54:Perfect location - right on sea front with lovely views. Good breakfasts, friendly staff and nicely decorated.

Review 55:Very small bathroom. the shower cubicle was way too small and cramped! Also, the wifi was a hit and miss. Sometimes it connected, sometimes it just wouldn't!

Review 56:Lovely views! Very comfortable bed. Very friendly staff.

Review 57:The beds were hard so difficult to get comfortable.

Review 58:The hotel was fresh, new and contemporary. The food was fantastic and the staff were so helpful and lovely. Nothing was to much trouble. Will be going back when the Spa is built.

Review 59:The staff are all wonderful, the room Was very very good clean and comfy Thank you so much, we run a golfclub, and a busy inn, the break was wonderful

Review 60:Overall we found the hotel to be excellent if a little drafty. The staff were good but needed a bit of motivation and to interact with the residents a bit more. I am sure as the hotel is new that it will gain an atmosphere as the time goes buy.

Review 61:The room size was very small and the ensuite was tiny. Access to the shower was very limited as the door would not fully open (taps in way). The shower was only 650mm!

Review 62:Potentially a quality hotel but no spa as the name implies.

Review 63:The service from the staff in the restaurant and breakfast wasn't very good, we got forgotten about quite a lot and had to chase up staff. The shower was small and the door way to shower was very tight for me being 6 months pregnant. Room was very small and we had a view of a house and skip.

Review 64:Sadly there is no car park, however, there was street parking close by. Should the local authority place future restictions on parking,it would reduce the attraction to return.

Review 65:Superb service from all staff with good attention to detail. Dinner and breakfast was top class.

Review 66:Shower kept over spilling, reported twice and still didn't seem to be fixed, not a big problem though as didn't have any real impact on our stay or overall experience

Review 67:Decor and quality of fixtures/fittings Friendliness of staff Great food, nice settings

Review 68:We went to Llandudno for the first time last week on holiday and fell in love with the town. And what made it extra special was the Llandudno Bay Hotel. All the staff were very helpful and so polite, and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was excellent, from the snacks to the al a carte, just perfect. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. We've travelled to many places around the world, and been on many cruises, and the Llandudno Bay Hotel compares with the best of them. Thanks to you all. John and Margaret.

Review 69:No parking as promised.Bedroom small and floor on a slant. Bathroom small and only a small towel rail.mountain view as promised did not materialise.Same menu on two consecutive nights and burnt cherry tomatoes on one meal.Staff helpful but needed direction. Not good value for money. Table too small for size of plates.

Review 70:Lovely dinning room and lounge

Review 71:my only negative would be the size of the single beds being 2ft 6 instead of 3ft almost impossible to turn around with out falling out of bed.

Review 72:nice contemporary décor. good location.

Review 73:Staff efficient but not as "friendly" as a seaside holiday hotel might be. I think that this is because the Llandudno Bay attempts to cater for both business and holiday clients and the two usually have different expectations.

Review 74:Room and hotel décor. Sea view. Excellent food. Impeccable cleanliness.

Review 75:Parking outside appears to be a problem. Would benefit from having parking lines painted on the street as watched several people parking inconsiderately, taking up two parks, including a member of your staff who refused to move her car forward when asked by a member of the public which I thought was incredibly selfish.

Review 76:Walkable distance to the shopping centre but far enough away to not have problems parking. Good location . Nice outlook. Nice bar facilities and lovely dining room. Good menu and lovely staff on the whole.

Review 77:lift was slow and small. a lot of new staff not up to speed sure that would change, evening meal was a disaster people leaving early after very long wait for meals, Signage was poor

Review 78:Room was lovely and breakfast was excellent drinks were good

Review 79:Helpfull staff in beautifully renovated hotel. Sparkling clean rooms with crisp linen and fluffy towels, bath robes and slippers. A very comfortable stay.

Review 80:The bathroom was rather small but, in a listed building, there are restrictions on what can be moved. The shower worked very well.

Review 81:The staff were always courteous and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable and had a view of the sea. although there was no car park at the front of the hotel it was just a short walk round to the back and our car stayed there for two days and nights safely. It was good to be able to walk along the promenade to the busier end of the town and to the Great Orme.

Review 82:For people on there own, i think if they have booked bed and breakfast i dont think there should be an additional charge of £5 if they choose to eat in there room, as it can be quite daunting sitting in a large restaraunt on youre own, when everyone has company.

Review 83:The friendly and helpful staff, the cleanliness of the hotel, the rooms are furnished very tasteful, and you have everything you need, even down to the iron and ironing board, slippers and fluffy dressing gown lovely.. would be a good idea to have a box of tissues in the rooms.

Review 84:Breakfast staff a but dysfunctional. Didn't seem to be aware of customers needs. First morning waited 10 minutes to get milk for tea. Second morning you could see people getting annoyed because they were having to ask for milk, butter etc. lots of new staff so maybe that is the issue. Would not stop me going back though. Hopefully they are all trained up in my next visit.

Review 85:Everything. Rooms spotless. Food excellent. Wonderful breakfast.

Review 86:Rooms are a bit small, bathrooms even tighter including the bath tub. Only one day when we had issues with breakfast but staff were brilliant, very apologetic and they had to make it up for us which was fantastic. we are happy to use the hotel again in future.

Review 87:the location was fab and the sea view was just what we wanted. Staff were brilliant and the rooms were kept smart and clean.

Review 88:Smoking in the steps outside the main entrance by guests. Suggestion to allocate a smoking area. Being a non smoker I found it unpleasant having to walk through the smoke being shared by the smokers, passive smoking.

Review 89:We felt relaxed and at ease in the hotel with all our needs being met with a polite friendly and helpful staff. We would return also recommend to friends.

Review 90:Rooms a little snug. Key card didn't work the whole weekend but staff very helpful and deducted drinks for our inconvenience

Review 91:Very friendly staff and very helpful

Review 92:Unfortunately every went very well until our last day. We had to wait 50 MINUTES for our breakfast and eventually had to leave without having any!! When I asked had we been forgotten I was told sharply that no-one had been forgotten! I am sorry that this did spoil what had so far been a very pleasant stay.

Review 93:The hotel was clean and the decor was very good. Our bedroom was on the small side. On the whole the staff where friendly and helpful. Breakfast was freshly cooked.

Review 94:1. Prior to my arrival I had booked a parking space online,Wrong, it turned out that the only `parking` spaces were on the main road outside this hotel, which meant that I had to drive round looking for none existent spaces as cars were parked nose to tail along the sea front. We were told by the receptionist that it was booking dot coms fault for this and that they have been asking b.d.c. to remove this off there website... 2.Room on the third floor too small. 3.Shower too small,I am a 17 stone male. 4.Lift kept breaking down, couldnt use the stairs as I am partially disabled. My request to move to a lower floor was refused I was treated with indifference by the person in charge at the time. 5. The information that a Spar was located at the hotel was wrong, there will be a Spar eventually but during my stay it was still under construction in the hotel basement.

Review 95:The Sea View. The `front line` staff were very helpful however breakfast was quite chaotic ,usually involving, receiving, another persons breakfast most mornings. there wasn't any evidence of table numbering or colour coding even, this may have helped, the keen and friendly but seemingly ,inexperienced, staff operate more efficiently.

Review 96:Very small room- it's just very cramped. Wi-Fi was very very poor Other then that you pay for what you get

Review 97:Great location, really clean hotel and attentive staff. We had a sea view room and it was exactly that- room decor matched the sea colours and it was extremely pleasing to the eye The rooms were very contemporary and up to a very high standard. Very posh hotel in reality. Breakfast is to order and to a v high standard

Review 98:No parking, door key didn't work on numerous times, rooms are small, dinner was expensive, toilet is hard to get on because of the small bathroom, shower was small, door was hard to close

Review 99:Staff were friendly, breakfast was excellent,

Review 100:nothing,,,,,,,

Review 101:The hotel was spotless modern and cutting edge, with lots of lovely touches in the room with flufey robes and slippers the staff were great and the breakfast was gorgeous and cooked to order....... will be back!!thank you all

Review 102:We stayed in a standard double room with sea view but the shower was far too small, bit claustrophobic couldn't even bend down to pick up the soap! Better to pay extra for deluxe room. Had an issue with flies on the food which wasn't covered at the breakfast buffet table, did make the restaurant manager aware who promptly dealt with it. No disabled access as is listed building so no good for the infirm. Spa is not open until December 2015 but we weren't worried as this was stated on the website.

Review 103:Very helpful, obliging and friendly staff, style of hotel is beautiful and all areas of the hotel are spotlessly clean. We had a beautiful view of the Bay from our room. Breakfast was excellent.

Review 104:Would be nice to see a fish and chips on the menu. Something simple . Ordered a meal and asked for no garlic and the meal had garlic on it . Was a shame . Everything else was lovely and beautiful

Review 105:Cooked breakfast took too long to come. Kitchen swing doors are dangerous for staff needs to be one standard swing door into kitchen.

Review 106:The staff were very helpful and friendly. Only been open 5 weeks so everything was clean and fresh.

Review 107:Breakfast was slow, but probably teething problems as it's new and we went at the busiest time.

Review 108:Lovely new hotel in a ideal location, very tastefully decorated. Reasonably priced for the standard of it.

Review 109:It was a very special occasion for us. We were booked into a twin room. The room overlooked the hotels noisy kitchen extraction unit on the roof. Room tiny, bathroom awkward, the door couldn't be opened fully because it hit the sink. Very very upset.

Review 110:First impressions a Lovely looking hotel, overlooking the bay in Llandudno.

Review 111:I wasn't to happy with the fact that no offered to help us with our luggage. I would expect that from a four star and especially as we had two very small children.

Review 112:We liked the decor and the freshness of the hotel. Staff was really friendly and always smiled when waking past. We loved our sea view room, great treat to wake up to...

Review 113:Nothing

Review 114:Great location, high quality rooms. Staff will Provide fresh milk on request and ice bucket which are nice touches. Breakfast is a good and manageable size and not a spot of grease - best hotel breakfast I've had for ages, and little wasted which is if usually case with cooked breakfast as there's often far far too much in plate. Beautifully presented. We had a lovely time and will def return. Special mention to super fluffy dressing gowns and products in bathroom - all luxury which we all enjoyed.

Review 115:The room washing facilities were bad, not enough room to use adequately. The wi- fi did not work nor did the tv. The lift also was not working.

Review 116:Only the view

Review 117:Bathroom far too small, shower cubicle minute and water didn't drain away quickly enough meaning you either had to keep turning the water off to avoid it spilling over, or spend 10 minutes mopping the floor!

Review 118:A great location and lovely new décor. The staff are friendly enough but still learning as this hotel is newly opened.

Review 119:paid for deluxe room but thought it on the small side for the extra money. booked DBB for 3 nights and found the table d'hote boring as it didnt change during our stay.

Review 120:Great location very clean hotel with very friendly staff

Review 121:Was advertised as spa hotel butonly told when asked that it was not ready for a couple of months I would not have booked this hotel if I was told before booking

Review 122:Beautiful hotel

Review 123:Staff not ready for 7am breakfast service, still table-setting. Poached eggs arrived uncooked, coffee very weak. Requires more attention to customer satisfaction.

Review 124:Good location.

Review 125:our room was stuffy and too much crammed into the tiny room.noisy as we were at the back over the kitchen vents.we had to wait an hour for our brekfast. waiting on staff not at all organised.

Review 126:clean modern tidy staff friendly.

Review 127:Wifi was hit and miss and plenty of dead spots. Advertise a spa but hasnot yet been completed. The hotel ask if you would like to request a carpark space but this turns out to be hit or miss street parking.

Review 128:Location was perfect to enjoy the facilities. Staff were very helpfuland made our stay enjoyable. The food was well prepared and wellpresented.

Review 129:It was the first weekend after re-opening from the refurbishment it's had. So every where was clean and tidy we were made welcome through out our stay, Breakfast was a bit manic but been it's first weekend we were willing to give them the time they needed to catch up after all we were on a relaxing weekend away and this hotel gave us that relaxation we needed we will definitely be returning for another chill out weekend maybe stretch it to a week

Review 130:Everything about the hotel was lovely and welcoming also chic and modern. I was upgraded without asking at no further cost. I enjoyed being there so I stayed a second night, again at the same cost in the same room. Lovely bathrobes and toiletries.

Review 131:Shops are a bit of a distance from the hotel, but this is okay if you're after a getaway from the city life. Can be a bit overpriced, but understandable as this is inline with the hotels standard. We also did at times feel uncomfortable wearing tracksuit bottoms and casual tshirts, it seemed at times the staff expected formal wear, which for us we do on a daily basis- last thing we wanted to do on a getaway. but again this was in line with the hotels standards.

Review 132:Food was great, bit pricey but happy to pay as the bar staff and waiters were excellent service, probably the best we've had so far. We originally booked a room facing the mountain, tbh the room didn't have a mountain view at all, all we could see was an opposite building which wasn't very pleasant, but the staff were kind enough to move us to a sea view, which was spectacular. Amazing view and great hospitality. Except for a few minor things, which can certainly be overlooked, this place is a definite must visit, by far the best in this area.

Review 133:Beautiful hotel, lovely room ,wonderful staff , made us very relaxed, nothing to much trouble, excellent weeks holiday,we would return to this hotel,as pensioners, and very flexible dates etc, would welcome any last minute deals etc

Review 134:Waiting nearly one hour to be served breakfast on both days asked for hard boiled eggs came think the hen had just laid them

Review 135:Location rooms good staff friendly

The Fine Print

The spa is due to open in early 2016.
