Reviews for Dalziel Park Hotel
Review 1:Green light on smoke alarm too bright disturbs sleep Booking.com passed on wrong details for nights booked and pricing
Review 2:Good staff levels good food comfortable bed
Review 3:No room service - we wanted to have something to eat in our room before going to my friends wedding but the hotel doesn't offer room service
Review 4:Comfort, cleanliness, friendliness, breakfast. Great hotel stay - definitely be back.
Review 5:The outside fire door into the block does tend to bang loudly when it closes which can be a bit disturbing if people come back late and you're in a ground floor room.
Review 6:The food here is fantastic, and the staff are so friendly. The quality decor is a step up from your average bog standard hotel fayre. Some people don't like being in a block across the car park but I think it saves you from any noise disturbance from the bar and restaurant (not that it was a noisy venue! ).
Review 7:No lights outside in the early morning making exit from room 10 (outside) dangerous. I asked for this to be rectified. Staff could have been more helpful with this issue.
Review 8:Very well equipped rooms. Clean Restaurant
Review 9:No bad experiences
Review 10:my friend had her wedding in dalziel Park and I stayed 2 nights. It was absaloutely lovely and the staff Allan and Ross and Sandra who assisted us in our function room were so attentive (was great as was a small wedding as 12 and all staff were constantly in checking we were okay) and very accommodating and also very friendly , also the reception staff were very helpful and always willing to help and chat it was great , I love a bit of patter lol, overall great stay both rooms I stayed in were lovely lots of storage space lovely baths and even although it's not the most practical for public transport if makes up for it in every other way. At night it was all lit up lovely, would defo recommend it. Oh and before I forget the breakfast and meal was gorgeous I had a grilled breakfast both days was delicious the menu was really nice with eggs benedict and eggs royale on the menu, also for dinner first night I had the focaccia and garlic and the peri peri cheese burger and the second day was the wedding I had tomato and basil soup and topside of beef and pavlova but other people had prawn cocktail and chicken and profiteroles, the staff were also attentive enough to ask if anyone was vegetarian. Sorry for the long review guys lol but loved it.
Review 11:The internet is so bad this needs addressing along with the very very very poor insulation from room to room. The people next door may as well been in our room with us really really bad and given they didn't settle down until 2am didn't make for a lot of sleep that night something must be done about this. The breakfast ... If you wanted a typical breakfast that was ok but considering a few items on the menu includes smoked salmon and they had none was quite poor .... Don't put a menu out that you cannot serve !! All in all felt completely ripped off as we paid £120.00 for a family room definitely wasn't worth the money.... Not a pleasant experience at all.... Spoke to reception in the morning relayed all these comments was told a manager would call me to discuss and YES still waiting!!!!!!!
Review 12:The decor and size of the bathroom was really nice, the quality of towels and bedding was of a good standard. The tea/coffee box is a really good idea. We couldn't find the ironing board.
Review 13:The only (very small issues) the shower didn't really have enough force behind it, made it awkward to wash.
Review 14:The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. I was in room 10 that is across the car park so away from any potential noise from the bar.
Review 15:My only small negative comment would be the travel sized hair dryer for a family room but wouldn't put me off another visit!!
Review 16:Beautiful surroundings, great restaurant/brassiere food at reasonable prices, friendly helpful staff. A gorgeous family room finished to high standards, spotless bathroom and a lovely range of toiletries and tea/coffee etc, delicious breakfast too :)
Review 17:The service was great, I was made to feel welcome. I loved the decor, furniture and furnishings of the hotel and my room. The breakfast was gorgeous, it was cooked to perfection.
Review 18:Over priced for tiny rooms Poor food in restaurant Poor attitude of restaurant manager who tried to hurry us out and wasn't concerned about he poor food Bar too expensive for the quality and quantity of wine
Review 19:Position
Review 20:Would have liked a free standing dressing table mirror to get ready in, as only mirrored wardrobe was in the room and although it states free tea/coffee refills with breakfast, we had to call to someone rushing past despite there only being two other tables in use and even thought I got my coffee, my husband who was sat there wasn't offered any - really small issues as we had a really great time and the accommodation was really good
Review 21:Room and bed was was very comfortable and lovely and clean, good breakfast that set us up for the day
Review 22:breakfast, very poor service, did not go down on second day, coffee cold, table not cleaned, had to use left cutlery from previous client. getting to breakfast and hotel got wet as raining stayed in annex
Review 23:nice room
Review 24:Very noisy guests attending a wedding. I suggest you consider letting potential guests know when you have weddings booked.
Review 25:Quality meals and lovely staff.
Review 26:The food is fabulous, second to none. Cleanliness of the room was immaculate. Staff were friendly and personable, not like some hotels where they rattle off a script without making eye contact.
Review 27:Poor wi fi connection in the hotel. Alarm kept going off during the evening up until 11.30 pm accompanied by a red flashing warning light located on bedroom ceiling. Eventually the warning light was turned off due to some fault in the system.
Review 28:Staff were helpful
Review 29:Mobile phone signal in the rooms and main hotel are shocking !!
Review 30:Great, friendly staff and the girl on reception last night 21st July was gorgeous (always a benefit), Filet steak was fantastic as ever.
Review 31:No bad experience but they did not appear to have air conditioning although we were able to open the windows. But mentioning in case this is important for people.
Review 32:Rated 3 star hotel - the room was compact and very clean. Hotel had advised me before that this was their smallest room and queried if I happy with this - I was. Room was small but it had everything you needed so no complaints on that front. Staff friendly. Was staying one night to visit family and have a link to the area so this was all a plus point. There was a small wooden playground area for young children, 9 hole golf course (we did not use), excellent parking and was easy to get to. A lot of TV channels and wifi was free. Good cooked breakfast options.
Review 33:No coffee in room Hotel / bar staff seemed short-staffed as there was a wedding function on
Review 34:Having the golf course located onsite and complementary golf is great. Rooms very comfortable
Review 35:Toilet seat was not fixed properly and electric sockets were not easy to ge to (without having to move or crawl under furniture). Wi-Fi coverage was poor.
Review 36:Friendly and helpful staff with a comfortable room. As I was being picked up early, staff were accomodating at breakfast and at at checkout.
Review 37:Nothing, I couldn't fault it.
Review 38:I stayed in room 6, a well equipped spacious room with an excellent bathroom. Bed was comfortable, wifi good and a great flat screen television. I was able to have a £10 three course dinner simply because I was over 60!! Superb breakfast individually cooked to order.
Review 39:Walls to the rooms were paper thin. Our neighbours bathroom backed on to our main room, as did ours with theirs. As a consequence of the thin walls we could hear everything going on in the bathrooms. With a wedding party staying on our second night they were pretty loud too - no doubt after a few wee drams! Our room was also upstairs in the eves (no 5). The windows here are very tiny and the room decor whilst very smart is dark. Although there were 2 bedside lights, a main ceiling light and a couple of spotlights the room was quite dim in the evening. I was trying to do some work for the next day whilst my partner was reading a book and we both had to give up as we couldn't see clearly enough. Whilst the food was excellent with a great choice, what you choose will determine whether you feel you got value for money and/or a full tummy! Some dishes seemed a little sparse..
Review 40:Over all I would definitely recommend. The rooms were comfortable, clearly fairly recently refurbed, so clean and tidy and with everything you need. the hotel only has 15 rooms (14 excluding no 13) so you don't get the feeling of being in a huge anonymous chain hotel. Public areas of hotel very stylish. Restaurant food very good quality, with lovely outlook over the 9th hole of the golf course. Most staff very pleasant, friendly and chatty.
Review 41:There is no phone signal here whatsoever and the wifi doesn't seem to work very well in the main reception. No room service which would be good to have an option as a solo traveller.
Review 42:Stayed for a wedding liked the cottage rooms which seemed a lot more modern. The food was really good at breakfast with good choice of fresh cooked hot food.
Review 43:In the separate block that I was in, there was a boxed-in feel to the room and the quality/fabric of stairs, doors and corridors is poor. Separate block meant going out in the rain to get breakfast. Hot breakfast well cooked, but all very starch based and no options of fruit - not what you would expect at this price.
Review 44:Quite large room. Not too hot and easy to ventilate.
Review 45:Hotel let down by bar staff and service in the restaurant. Could do with highlighting local areas of interest rather than national.
Review 46:Excellent food and very quiet accommodation. Welcome at check in was exceptional, very friendly staff.
Review 47:I had a cold room which had a radiator on the window wall (which is normal) but fully lined black out curtains that reached the floor blocking out heat. Outside door did not close properly letting in cold air to corridor no one on reception to help get me a blanket.
Review 48:No heating in room, hot water was barely Luke warm. Very poor - if there are problems with the heating system they should not be selling rooms
Review 49:Clean well presented rooms
Review 50:Could do with a blind in the bathroom...it did have one in the same room last time I stayed in this room.
Review 51:Food is fabulous and prices very reasonable. Rooms very stylish.
Review 52:No footpath to walk out of hotel grounds.. - there should be a designated / covered walkway from accommodation block to main reception building, both as a cover from rain or to safe guard from cars in car-park to make it more Kid friendly
Review 53:Big Bed and Food, Staff both excellent .
Review 54:The room was cold and the heating wasn't working. But the young duty manager sorted us out with a portable heater that done the job.
Review 55:The huge bed and the lovely room, good cocktails and friendly staff.
Review 56:Bar prices very expensive. We were part of a wedding party and the whole event was excellent from start to finish. The only negative point I would comment on was the cost of a round of drinks. Carling draught lager was very poor quality. Changed to bottled lagers.
Review 57:Loved the room and the grounds. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Dinner was lovely too.
Review 58:was not great location.
Review 59:room was excellent, quiet at night due to being in a mini complex. food was superb and varied. price was excellent due to late booking.
Review 60:Having to go outside to our room on slippy pathway, which would benefit from being covered
Review 61:Food in resturant was excellent, bed comfortable & shower was great also staff very helpfull
Review 62:I stayed at the daziel park in December and enjoyed my stay very much, the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and have very comfortable beds + wifi flat screen tv and good facilities. The restaurant is modern and serves a good selection of meals with a friendly smile. I would definitely recommend.
Review 63:The receptionist almost ran me over in her car when i was walking across the parking lot to enter the main building, she apologized, but that didn't take away from the fact if i hadn't jumped out of the way she would have hit me. That same receptionist was asked if she could put the company name and address on the bill, the information was given to her and she gave me my receipt in an closed envelope assuring me the changes were made, unfortunately i trusted her and didn't check until i arrived home and she had not done what was promised, very disappointing. Lastly the wifi only worked in the main building not in the room, again disappointing!!!
Review 64:I have to say my stay was pleasant overall except for my experience with the receptionist and the wifi.
Review 65:I ate my evening meal in the bar/bistro. It was quite dark, with black table and seating and black serviettes. Meal was then served on a slate which was also nearly black. This was not terribly attractive. The waiter asked if I would like to see the desert menu - it took 10 minutes to arrive, a further 10 minutes for the waiter to take my order of desert and coffee and then 30 minutes for the desert to arrive with no coffee. I couldn't find a waiter when I went looking for my bill, as only one behind the bar who was watching the football (on very loud) in the bar. The fire alarm went off early morning. I followed the instructions and went into the car park. There were a few staff running round trying to turn it off. I was given no expalnation, apology, or told that it was safe to return to my room and people were generally just wandering back into the building. I'm so glad this wasn't an actual fire.......
Review 66:Room and bathroom were clean, modern and comfortable
Review 67:Nothing
Review 68:Very friendly and welcoming staff both at reception and throughout the hotel. Excellent service. The food was exceptional. Would definitely recommend this hotel as either over night stay or for a weekend.
Review 69:Room (we were in the treehouse area) somewhat tired. Door was sticky for some reason and it was difficult to locate key in lock and open. Furnishing needed updating, although the bathroom was excelltn.
Review 70:Food - both breakfast and dinner were first-rate. Staff were all very nice
Review 71:I could hear the guests in other room using the toilet which did wake me. The room was situated away from the main hotel and even though there is an entry door before you come to the bedroom which was lockable, was left open which as a female traveller on their own, left me feeling uncomfortable
Review 72:The room was large and very comfortable. The food both dinner and breakfast was excellent. Staff were friendly and efficient. Would certainly recommend.
Review 73:Helpful and pleasant staff. Good food. Another person had suggested the windows had no blinds1 Rubbish. All windows have curtains or integral blinds if roof windows. Complete privacy.
Review 74:The boiler had broke and unfortunately the shower was faulty due to this but I could see that they were getting repairs done asap
Review 75:Food was great. Price was great staff very helpful.
Review 76:When leaving my car was covered in wasps, but it didn't spoil our stay.
Review 77:Staff friendly helpful, hotel clean and tidy, and food was excellent. All in all well satisfied .
Review 78:I gave poor for comfort and sleep as at 6am we were kept awake with golf course tractors going back and forth, our room14 was next to area where tractors parked, but to start at 6am was very annoying. Additionally, there was a green LED light on a ceiling white box above bed which was very bright, more than you would expect. We dod bring this to the attention of front desk. This spoilt what was a very good stay and hotel.
Review 79:The hotel was very clean and good, breakfast was excellent? The staff excellent and other than the problems below, I would have given the hotel ten out of ten
Review 80:Changed rooms as all twins upstairs and some accessed via external spiral staircase not suitable for people with mobility issues.
Review 81:Convenient location for an overnight stop on the way to the Highlands. Food excellent and the coach trip arriving as we had breakfast were very entertaining!!
Review 82:Excellent food served in a lovely restaurant with excellent service. The parking very convenient and the golf look very pleasant although I didn't play. Great to sit in the bar and have fast service. Lovely find and highly recommended.
Review 83:I was travelling on my own and was allocated a single room in the tree house which was lovely and extremely adequate for my needs. Cleanliness, friendliness of the staff and the excellent customer service made such a difference. I felt safe on my own which was my biggest concern. Loved the place - ideal spot.
Review 84:Our room was on the ground floor next to the entrance door, the door bangs really loud, I thought someone was coming into our room so it was a bit hard to get to sleep.
Review 85:The lady on reception when we arrived was lovely! The room was great.
Review 86:Unable to open curtains as golfers and staff right outside the window so no privacy. Room quite small
Review 87:Excellent shower. New fittings, very clean and comfortable bed. Very good breakfasts and excellent dinner options
Review 88:Room was located up a spiral staircase which is not easy with cases. Also was an eaves room so, although large, seems claustrophobic. Don't know what ground floor rooms are like but would suggest you ask for one of these.
Review 89:Nice restaurant and facilities.
Review 90:As a woman on her own having to check into the hotel and then walk across a car park and enter another unmanned building didn't put security at a high priority. Thankfully a nice evening. No fruit and only toffee ( or similar) favoured yogurts available at 8.30 in morning was disappointing if only wanting a continental however scrambled eggs were brill.
Review 91:Friendly welcome with offer of assistance with luggage and great spacious room. Food was excellent with variety and budgets in mind and again staff were friendly and very efficient.
Review 92:Overall there was nothing to report.
Review 93:The tranquillity of the location. Easy to commute by train to Glasgow city centre, avoiding the stress of traveling and expensive multi storage car parks. The breakfast and dinner were excellent. Free car parking at the hotel.
Review 94:As a single traveller and also being a female it can often be intimidating dining and spending time anywhere other than your room..... The staff at the Dalziel were very welcoming and friendly and the whole atmosphere in the hotel was warm and relaxed. There was even a deb's prom on the evening of my stay which was lovely to see but even with large groups of school leavers at a disco there was no noise that I could hear.
Review 95:Staff fruendly
Review 96:Friendly helpful staff - kindly printed our return flight boarding passes too!
Review 97:Having to walk to the room from the hotel, specially when it's raining hard

Review 101:Nice place
Review 102:A bit of green space in a largely built up area. Very luxurious without being stifling. Great staff, welcoming, nothing too much trouble.
Review 103:Food was excellent and good value. Staff friendly and situated in a quiet semi rural area
Review 104:None
