Reviews for Towers Hotel
Review 1:It was a place with great history. The bar staff was great. Kieran was our waiter and was one of few in Ireland that could speak to me in gaeilge. The restaurant's personnel was great and accommodating. The rooms were great and had a great view. It was just a fantastic experience and I would recommend to anyone
Review 2:Nothing was a problem to the staff, bend over backways for you, food excellent, rooms spacious and very clean, such a difference of a family run hotel, they deserve more recognition. Great value.
Review 3:Nothing - all very good !
Review 4:The staff were just so lovely, really friendly hotel and seemed genuinely happy and appriciative of guests staying at their hotel. Food was excellent and the room with double doors out to the garden was also lovely. Really good value for money in terms of the room, food and drink ! lively bar in the evening too - didn't have to go anywhere else after our delicious dinner.
Review 5:Nothing to dislike, hope to be back there for the races again in 2016 all going well.
Review 6:Staff are all very friendly, the food is excellent and good craic in the bar at night, especially as the races were on. Even manages to steal a pen from Mary in reception !!! Lovely spot to stay, highly recommended.
Review 7:no wifi, which today is important especially for tourist from abroad
Review 8:The position. We liked the position as it sits as a good stop in the Ring of Kerry. But the best thing was to have the best local pub in the area just down the stairs; excellent food, beer and atmosphere just down the room. No stress as far as noise in the rooms, which were very quiet. Very clean, no problem at all
Review 9:We had a huge room which was very clean but had cobwebs in bathroom. It could do with a lick of paint outside.
Review 10:Staff were lovely, meals were delicious, very good entertainment, big room , great location
Review 11:Musty smell in bedroom that stayed on clothes we had brought with us. Staff for breakfast very slow even though both mornings there was only one other couple for breakfast staff weren't anywhere to be found. this hotel could do with a lick of paint in places.Possibly they would gain from having childrens play room ie. pool table or games machine.
Review 12:Kids enjoyed garden area for a run around. Breakfast was plentiful. Staff fast in bar for service with food. family bedroom good size and bathroom modern.
Review 13:Room very smelly with musty, old storage heater smell it put in room when on,heating system out our Window kept us awake, bed very uncomfortable 2 singles push together feel lump between us,tele would not work, complaint no came to fix it,milk was sour in room, went down for meal was given wrong food when ordered, when leaving and paying we were not asked did we like our stay our anything just handed the bill and good bye, would never suggest the place to anyone.
Review 14:Tge ring of kerry that's it
Review 15:The appearance of the bar, particularly in the morning doesn't do justice to the services on offer.
Review 16:I loved the friendliness of the staff, the homeliness of the property, the value for money ,the flexibility around menu choice and the atmosphere engendered by all of the above.
Review 17:The bathroom was ok, could do with modernising. The taps are quite dated. There was some water staining on the tiles which could easily be cleaned. The bathroom itself was clinically clean.
Review 18:The location is outstanding. Glenbeigh is stunning and the hotel is right in the centre. The rooms are very spacious and extremely comfortable. Staff were particularly helpful and professional. I don't think it would take a lot to elevate its status to 4 star.
Review 19:No seperate shower (shower in bath). Small cups for coffee in the morning, several refills required.
Review 20:The staff were very friendly. The pub and food were worth the visit. I though it was a bit over priced.
Review 21:13 inch TV in an unviewable corner, small room worth 50% if that, of the value charged. Slipped and fell getting out of bath/shower because no mat to avoid the towel mat from sliding on slippery tiles. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
Review 22:Nothing was worth a grade of liking
Review 23:Hotel main doors were locked at 1 30 am. there was no night porter on duty and nine of our party had to get in through an open window in one of the hotel bedrooms.my 5 year old child was able to get onto the roof of the hotel from the outside dining area that had an open fire escape staircase. the patio doors in the rooms had no locks or keys so my children could have walked out onto the main road during the night without me knowing so we had to put two chairs up against the doors at night. The owner/ manager told us when we complained that he could have sold the rooms 5 times over and did'nt really need our custom and was under no obligation to have a night porter on duty at nighttime. He said that the staff presumed we were all in bed so this happened three nights in row.He was rude and abrupt and should not be in the hotel trade and i would strongly urge people to stay away from this hotel, as far away as possible.
Review 24:The girl on reception and some of the staff were very polite and tried their best but working in such a poor quality and over priced hotel and for a totally abrupt owner they dont have a lot of options available to them!
Review 25:almost everything about the hotel it is tired and shabby and needs to be updated We booked a "suite" for what we thought was a great price €120 per night but this could be sold as a standard room. Our shower did not work and toiletries were not replenished until I spoke to the person at front of house. No water in rooms no tissues it was a real let down. We had stayed here on several occasions and had lovely memories. the Staff (except for one lady in dining room and one lady in bar area) were obviously inexperienced and when the two older staff members were absent it was chaotic.
Review 26:location
Review 27:This is a perfect location for the outdoor enthusiast...mountain/hill climbing, fishing, horseriding, beaches, scenery etc. The nice weather was a great help too.
Review 28:The hotel room was a bit dated, bed was okay could do with investing in a few new mattresses . But it was lovely for what we wanted and it was quint and you end up warming to it . If you are looking for luxury this ain't it but somewhere that is clean and quiet it's perfect. And that was us. Thank you.
Review 29:The food was really good, the seafood selection was such a treat for fish lovers. The staff were really nice and helpful.
Review 30:The weather, very wet for hill walking, but my pal knew a route with a track.
Review 31:The people working in the Hotel were friendly, down to earth Kerry people! The atmosphere was relaxed and the craic was good.
Review 32:Unfortunately this Hotel has lost some charm with the addition of flat screen tv's. We expected some local musicians to give us some real Irish entertainment but the football was showing instead. We checked out the night before departure as we had to catch an early flight. We explained that we would be leaving at 7 in the morning. However, we went to reception at around 6.45 to find that we were locked in! Totally. Tried every door, rang the bell, called the reception no. Ended up fleeing out of the fire escape on the first floor ! No night Porter and in fact we were woken twice in the night with fire alarms. Won't return. Sorry. A bit disappointed.
Review 33:Relaxed atmosphere. A hotel with history. Staff fantastic. Room not in our opinion worth superior status and charge.
Review 34:Just excellent

Review 66:Hotel has not been properly cleaned in a long time. Foul smell in the lobby as you go upstairs. Common areas very dirty. I would not eat here.

Review 68:The people were very friendly.
Review 69:No wifi in the rooms and hard to get into after 12am No one on reception.
Review 70:Central to Glenbeigh and ammienities
Review 71:Small Room with too much furniture
Review 72:Location .lovely village Food Excellent
Review 73:The next visit I will take my little jack russel dog, which is a great facility. 100% all round
Review 74:Hotel is on a main road and very noisy we stayed in an annex that was very tired and dated, bathroom had mouldy grouting and the shower rail was rusty there were no bin bags in the waste bins and no loo roll holder. The bed was a standard double even though there was room for a larger one, it was impossible to turn off an electric fire even though it was June! There was a seating area with two old uncomfortable chairs even though there was room for a sofa, we were very glad that we only stayed for one night,it was the worst hotel that we stayed in for our holiday. We ate in the bar and they concentrate on quantity not quality! Breakfast was served my a woman wearing a stained black shirt who was quite unfriendly, menu disappointing no sign of local produce, a very poor establishment.
Review 75:Nothing!
Review 76:General area power cut on first night lasted for over 1 hr.Not hotels fault, however, no engagement from hotel ensued as to cause and so forth. Bedroom windows dirty. Weeds and growth in bay window gutters require attention. Cold water tap in WHB leaks when on.
Review 77:Pleasant and friendly staff. Room with a good view Breakfast good but percolated coffee not so. Overall, would visit again.
Review 78:Had to leave before breakfast started, but staff made breakfast early for us :-) and was gorgeous too :-) ps I took key by mistake will post or drop to reception when passing soon :-)
Review 79:the bathroom probably need updating, I understand costs etc, but it would make a big difference, that's all everything else fine
Review 80:The Hotel is brillant, the room was lovely, the staff were realy nice and could'nt be nicer , it's just a lovely place to stay, im sorry I could not stay longer, Thank's to all the staff best wishes Pat,
Review 81:The hotel is very dated and a bit tired looking - the corridors, rooms and particularly the bathroom could do with a revamp. There was a glazed door in the corridor that was broken. The place does need some care and attention but it is a great place to stay.
Review 82:The hotel is in a lovely location. It was nice to stay in a traditional hotel. The bar is really cute. The staff at reception and in the restaurant were really good. The evening meal in the restaurant was very good and enjoyable.
Review 83:Not really a problem as i wasnt in the hotel to watch tv but as far as i could make out the tv only had 2 channels and i dont think the remote worked. Its no reflection obviously just a note
Review 84:The menu was fab and really good value esp the table d'hote. Food was delicious. The staff were all lovely and pleasant, from reception to waiting staff to bar.
Review 85:The room in which we stayed smelled musty and damp. The chair in the room had clear water marks on it and was also quite worn. The television in the room was small 1980s portable television style. The room lacked character.
Review 86:The location was superb.
Review 87:The location, meals and service were more than adequate for my needs andthe staff were pleasant and helpful throughout. No complaints!
Review 88:I can.t say that anything was bad about the Towers. It was value for money and comfortable.
Review 89:Staying at the Towers Hotel was a real old world experience - the hotel served our purpose - a stop off to visit some friends who live locally. The hotel needs a revamp - it is badly in need of redecoration.Staff were friendly but things were generally 'tired'.
Review 90:Hotel is clean and comfortable, but old and tired. Needs comprehensive refurbishment as soon as possible.
