Reviews for Kerry Ocean Lodge

Review 1:The bathroom taps did not have a mixer. During the night the room door would rattle because of the wind if the bathroom window was kept open

Review 2:clean and good facilities good value for money and very warm staff

Review 3:Do not like sleeping on a motorway. You could hear all the traffic all of the time.

Review 4:Room was clean and bathroom also, though shower water spilled onto bathroom floor.

Review 5:The breakfast room was cold, but the breakfast was warm and good.

Review 6:Eugene checked us in and was so hospitable. We were escorted to room with three single beds, as we are usually getting one double bed and one single for three. It worked out just fine and reminded me of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Review 7:Nothing bad to say!

Review 8:We stayed 15 nights. Our hosts, Eugene, Monica, and Kathleen made us feel at home and welcome. We started the day well with a full Irish breakfast and good conversation! Good location on The Ring of Kerry. We will stay again if our travels take us here!

Review 9:Not a luxury B and B! Very basic room, TV not working, surly staff, uncomfortable bed which was also ready to collapse! No ocean view, no hot water, no heating, very small room.

Review 10:Nothing

Review 11:Breakfast of any kind not included even though website shows a continental sitting on bed.It can get noisy as well in the morning, don't stay here if u want a peaceful lie in .

Review 12:The location was very good, just a stroll away from the village.

Review 13:This may not be a negative, depending on what you're looking for but it's not a very busy spot. We drove to the next town - Killorglin, for dinner the night we stayed.

Review 14:Lovely sitting room if you want to spend some time outside your room. Also located right beside a hiking/walking trail, only 20mins walk to stunning views. We were lucky to get a really sunny day :) Great breakfast served by two very nice ladies.

Review 15:Absolutely NOTHING negative!

Review 16:Eugene & Monica, the hosts, were GREAT!!!! We stayed four nights & enjoyed every minute. Breakfast was wonderful & service the best!!! Highly recommend!

Review 17:Reception is not so friendly. Internet is not good and Television program is bad (only 3 channels)

Review 18:This is the best breakfast we had in Ireland, with warm fresh made breakfast, selection of cheeses and salami. We had a family room with 3 beds very spacious and bright with ocean view. Really like the room.

Review 19:Bed was a little hard. No screens on the windows, which let bugs in while open.

Review 20:Very friendly staff, delicious breakfast, good location, lots of parking, lovely view, shower had great pressure and very hot water.

Review 21:WiFi was not available in the rooms which was disappointing but other than that everything else was perfect.

Review 22:This B&B is a little gem in the picturesque Glenbeigh which has now become our little piece of heaven here on earth.

Review 23:THEY SHOULD BE SOME ACTIVEITES FOR CHILDREN OR PLAY AREA OTHER THAN THAT IT WAS REALLY NICE

Review 24:I TAUGHT IT WAS REALLY ,REALLY CLEAN.THE BREAKFAST WAS GOOD AND THE STAFF NICE

Review 25:The wifi wasn't always great but it's not the sort of location to holiday at and sit on your phone all day so that wasn't a massive problem for us.

Review 26:Great location and friendly staff. We had a lovely room with more than enough space and a brilliant shower.

Review 27:Pleasant room and ensuite bathroom. Good location at Glenbeigh village. Short drive to the beach. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Early continental breakfast arranged for us due to early start and was no problem. Pleasant spot for a 1-night stopover. Large car park.

Review 28:they had only 2TV channels in the rooms that we stayed in

Review 29:very well situated outside of Killarny on the ring of Kerry road with lots to see and do for a family . there was a lovely atmosphere about the place and staff were very friendly

Review 30:Some bed should be replaced right now. Please. Nothing to do when bad weather time. No bother. We must back there.

Review 31:Staff really friendly and helpfully. Thanks for coffee and playing cards. Great location. Place quiet enough.

Review 32:Kerry ocean lodge is just perfect all the staff were so welcoming from arrival till we left, beach nearby with a playground and horses my 2yr old loved it..Will be back that's for sure

Review 33:Only 2 channels on the TV in the room, which was positioned very high up.

Review 34:Spacious communal rooms. Nice garden. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, bright room. Good size private off road carpark.

Review 35:The floor underneath the beds was very dusty so dusty that our luggage was white .The beds were made daily but poorly and the sheet that was stained with fruit juice was left on the bed.The ensuite was not cleaned for the duration of our stay . The shower handbasin toilet or floor was never attended to this was a disappointment as there was a copious amount of cleaning products on display each morning in the hallway. The TV stations were very poor also and the crockery used for the coffee making facilities was not changed daily even after obvious usage.

Review 36:The family room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The shower was excellent and the breakfast was also excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 37:It would have been nice if the rooms had a fridge, as the hotel is not in a town.

Review 38:The Jacuzzi and the view from our window was really nice. The room was spacious. The place was nice and peaceful.

Review 39:Great little place to stay. We're met by the most helpful family. Food was brill kids loved it. We felt very well looked after while there. Don't pay much attention to the bad reviews as we feel people who stayed here expect way to much it's a lodge not a 5 star hotel but the service we got was 5 stars we will defo return.

Review 40:Wi-Fi wasn’t accessible in a room, only 2 TV channels.

Review 41:Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, wooden flooring, great water pressure in a shower, amazing view from windows, great night sleep, amazing hosts, delicious and superfast breakfast, ideal location, plenty of parking.

Review 42:There is no transparency regarding charges and brake fast is too dear and no free B/F as common in B&B and not willing to give an invoice/Bill feel like not regulated under hotel & restaurant or vat licence category .

Review 43:View and location

Review 44:No where to put your bags. Could do with a few more channels on tv. Other than that no complaints

Review 45:The Ocean lodge was very clean, nice friendly people, excellent breakfast. Big bathroom

Review 46:I couldn't connect to the wifi but I am glad because it stopped me from using my iPhone and had good chat with my friends instead!

Review 47:The manager was very helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious, clean, warm and comfortable. Very quiet location too. The power shower was amazing!

Review 48:A bit noisy from the road and the water pump. But still good value for what you paid.

Review 49:The room is very clean and the location is good as well. Also warm in the room which is essential for Ireland travel.

Review 50:The bed, it made noise just getting in or sitting on it, woke us during the night.

Review 51:Clean, friendly staff, quiet and good location with good breakfast.

Review 52:wooden floorboards as they lead to a lot of noise from above rooms

Review 53:This is a great B&B! I would highly recommend. We were heading down to Glenbeigh for a christening and needed somewhere to stay. This B&B and recommended by some locals we knew and we got a great deal online for 1 night B&B for myself and my girlfriend for a total of €55. Location was great, nice and close to everything. Check-in was nice and quick and we were told there was no need to pay until checkout which was nice. We also were given our own key to the front door to leave ourselves in later that night. There are plenty of rooms and all of the rooms are a great size, with a large double bed, bed side lockers, plenty of plug sockets, a wardrobe and set of drawers. Each room also has an ensuite which is small but has everything you need with a great power shower. The only thing we didn't like about the rooms were the wooden floorboards as we could hear the residents upstairs walking around the whole time and it sounded like they were Irish Dancing at times with all of the running around. Breakfast was served until 10am and was very tastey. They had a full continenal option with a nice range of fruit, cheese, cold meat, etc, but they also had a full Irish breakfast option which was great. In total we were very happy with the service, room, space, etc and I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone, but as I mentioned the wooden floorboards can be a little annoying at times.

Review 54:We had booked a room with "spa tub", which turned out to be a dirty, small bathtub (did not use it). The photos on the booking.com page do not represent the actual standards and atmosphere of the B&B and therefore, we were slightly disappointed with the place.

Review 55:okay B&B, nothing particular great or bad about it.

Review 56:The staff friendly and welcoming, fine lodge plenty of comfy areas inside and outside to chill and enjoy the vista, our room was a superior which was nice. Some dated features but this is well reflected in the price. The breakfast was excellent. No complaints a good base to explore from

Review 57:No wifi The bed Squeezed a lot The matrasses were not so comfortable

Review 58:The stuff was super nice and helpful I would recommend to stay there for a night

Review 59:Squeaky bed though perhaps just ours but rather irritating

Review 60:A great holiday couldn't fault it really nice people nice clean room. good breakfast spent a week there. Awesome power shower

Review 61:Kerry Ocean Lodge offers clean, comfortable rooms at affordable prices. Although just a few minutes' walk from beautiful, lively Glenbeigh town, the Lodge also offers homely common rooms, books and board games for a queit night in.The staff are friendly and professional. We slept well and our breakfast was delicious. Overall, our stay was exceptional.

Review 62:A little bit noisy , since is located very close to the Ring Of Kerry way (street)

Review 63:Location: 10 min walk to the town center, you can find there 3 pubs. Another pub is much closer, 2 min walk, in a hotel.

Review 64:There was no path part of the way to the village and the road was narrow at this part, but just outside lovely village of glenbeigh

Review 65:very good value for the money, parking great. I have stayed a couple of times and would stay again.

Review 66:HARD TO GET WI-FI IN OUR BEDROOM ON LAPTOP HOWEVER WI-FI WAS AVAILABLE ELSEWHERE IN LODGE BUT POOR QUALITY

Review 67:GOOD BREAKFAST CHOICE COMFORTABLE ROOM QUIET LOCATION WITHIN EASY REACH BY CAR TO MANY DIFFERENT PLACES AND TOWNS OF INTEREST IN KERRY REGION

Review 68:The cleanliness of the room could be improved. Rooms could be provided with WI-FI connection.

Review 69:The room was very big (and good value for money for a family with two children). The location was perfect to visit the ring of kerry and dingle pensinsula.

Review 70:We booked a double room for us and a twin room for our 16yr old daughter and 11yr old son, we got two doubles, which was highly inappropriate and inconvenient. Upon enquiry, a twin was not available, so we did not get what we had booked. One of the bath towels was dirty but this was quickly resolved. The accommodation was a little basic and the bed quite hard.

Review 71:Kerry Ocean Lodge was easy to find, had ample parking, spacious rooms and was very clean (and the water pressure in the shower was fabulous!). They were wonderfully amenable to well behaved dogs and even had a nice large garden area to exercise them. It was in an excellent location being within easy walking distance to traditional Irish pubs and restaurants, and was ideally located for exploring the beautiful Ring of Kerry and Dingle peninsula.

Review 72:Had a vegetarian breakfast cooked but it wasn't nice, maybe it something they should think about!! Also brown blankets on bed very dated!

Review 73:Rooms & bathroom were really clean and not fussy! Breakfast was good with a nice choice! Cooked Breakfast mum had looked great, location super, couldn't fault this B&B well worth the money,

Review 74:*bed and pillows were hard

Review 75:*helpfulness of manager and wife in planning a needed change to our tour of Ring of Kerry due to a bike charity event * lovely breakfast *good sized room

Review 76:Monica and her husband greeted us warmly from the moment we arrived. Their granddaughter and our daughter played together the entire time we were there; Monica set them up with crayons and paper in the sitting room while my husband and I sat on the outside terrace watching the incredible view of the sun setting on Summer Solstice. The Lodge was just what we were looking for: clean, comfortable beds, good breakfast at a reasonable price. Laundry facilities on site were much appreciated. Good location at the start (or end, depending which way you go) of the Ring of Kerry. The village is literally a 2-minute walk down the road. We had intended to stay in Dingle, but everything was full. We drove out to Dingle the next day, but decided to come back to the Lodge for a second night because of the great hospitality and all around experience. Would definitely recommend.

Review 77:Cat hair on floor when checked into the room which once told staff member cleaned- it was clearly evident and should have been cleaned prior. Also once we arrived back in room later that evening when staff members were no longer at reception we discovered that there was also cat hairs all over the white sheets and pillows at the top of the bed as the hair was black this is clearly unacceptable and should be a basic level o cleanliness.
