Reviews for Premier Inn Banbury (M40, J11)
Review 1:I think some upgrade of towels .they are very abrasive ..not the nice fluffy towels you would expect from £100 per night.also some tissues standard really ..but not supplied.
Review 2:Great beds and linen ...
Review 3:Staff ignorant of customers. Bathroom dirty. Food not as advertised. Food debris on floor of dining room and ignored. When dinner arrived, plate was dirty from previous use. Staff cleaning practises were less then poor. No apparent management leadership.
Review 4:Slight problem with a leaking tap and no wash basin plug But staff were very sympathetic
Review 5:The whole experience was a pleasure Staff so friendly breakfast amazing room excellent
Review 6:We asked to check in early and did so, not enough blankets or towels so the staff immediately sorted that for us. Loved the fact the bar was open late and locking myself out of the room gaining an extra key immediately. Instant taxi at a press of a button. Excellent value for money.
Review 7:Pre booked breakfast, only to find cooked items had run out , waited for more to be cooked, bubble and squeak was disgusting, no black pudding, no croissants, pancakes were freezing cold. Holiday Inn does fab breakfasts where the pancakes and croissants are HOT. Staff tried very hard to put things right, could not fault them.
Review 8:Great room with good facilities, staff allowed us to book in early. Staff were all excellent throughout.
Review 9:Breakfast time was a shambles, nobody welcomed us for at least 5 minutes. The staff were moody and not attentive. The food was ok but we had no cutlery to eat it with. The guys in kitchen were great though, even though under pressure.
Review 10:Electronic check in is very good. Rooms were great, looked nice also.
Review 11:As I was on my own to start with I arrived around 3pm but room wasn't ready and had to sit around and I was very tired as just driven all the way up from spending Christmas in Devon. Had to actually ask again if room was ready as no one came to tell me after hanging around for an hour. Also couples and families came in after me and every one was able to go straight up to their rooms. Would have liked to have tried restaurant but had never been to a place like this on my own and was told it was probably full as should have booked so just ended up with a sandwich so I would not call it very welcoming.
Review 12:Being able to go to your room whenever you wanted to. Location is very good and easy to find.
Review 13:Once seated for breakfast we had to wait 20mins for the kitchen staff to make the food as we were waiting they ran out of juice and milk and smoothie aswell as running out if pastries. The kitchen staff at that time wasn't wearing a hair cap for his beard and had a grubby apron. For £17 for two people it was unacceptable
Review 14:The comfort of the room
Review 15:I had to keep the curtains closed most of the time because of the draught from the window. The bathroom tap flooded the flat basin surround when in use, soaking my flannel bag, and running onto the floor. The ways into and out of the car park were not clearly sign posted, and most of the outside lights were not working, making the problem even worse in the dark. (I did actually notice another customer make the same mistake in broad daylight in trying to exit the car park, that I had made the previous evening in the pitch dark, so it's not just me!)
Review 16:Comfortable bed and well planned room. Everything needed easily available. Pleasant staff.
Review 17:Toilet was continually running wouldn't flush..reported at 9.00.1.00 cleaner near room I said again my toilet wasn't working she told me the maintenance are not about that day .also the sink plug would not lift to drain water as broken .i was given another room as my stay was two nights,,would you believe Same problem with sink ..kinda tired now so just accepted it..also the towels were a bit course, and small could do with improvement..could easily be a 10 rating but just tweets required..all in all good...
Review 18:Clean .great bed.. Nice breakfast.parking easy and secure..
Review 19:More tea bags needed in room. I know you can get from reception. But once in your PJs who wants to? 1 bag per person appears very stingy. A sheet as well as a duvet would be good for those of us who get hot at night.
Review 20:Good quality of room. Choice of eateries in vicinity. Pleasant experience and my didn't likes are minor but could easily be addressed by premier inns.
Review 21:the staff were very pleasant on arrival, booked in with ease, our room was clean and comfortable,we did not try the breakfast thought it a bit dear so cannot comment on food but will return for another stay
Review 22:No bath, poor water pressure in shower and flimsy shower curtain flapping about all over the shop. Annoying.
Review 23:Great location just off the M40, plenty of free car parking, opposite coffee shop and two restaurants, nice modern building, great facilities, comfy beds, soft bedding, particularly liked the hollywood make-up mirror/vanity unit and the flat screen HD TV.
Review 24:Not sure about the new booking in process even the lady on the front desk had problems getting my card accepted. Also why was the room set up for 4 people, not a problem but seemed strange.
Review 25:Good welcome & helpful staff
Review 26:-
Review 27:Very friendly staff without exceptions. Rooms are clean, modern and have everything you need. Good brekfast. Located near the motorway, it is easy to find and with the hotel restaurant and 2 other restaurants just opposite, everything is there for an overnight stay. Banbury is only few minutes away.- All in all, good value for our money
Review 28:Air conditioning did not cool the hot room. After a 5 hour drive to get to this hotel arriving at 19.30 I was told that I could not have a meal in the restaurant as I had not booked in advance ( no mention of that when I booked ) , despite there being empty tables in both the restaurant and bar, I also offered to have the meal in my room. No reason was given and staff attitude was one of disinterest. Other hotel chains are available!!!
Review 29:There were not enough staff in the restaurant. Several people were waiting a very long time to be served. The barman seemed to be training but we had to wait well over 20 mins to receive our drinks. The staff were apologetic but there were just not enough of them to go round.
Review 30:Great for a short stay en route to Legoland. Liked the open plan restaurant and room was clean and comfortable.
Review 31:I booked a double room but found there were only 2 towels in the bathroom (1 small and 1 large). Im sure if I had complained I would have got more but luckily I had a spare one for my partner. Also, I would have preferred a room which wasnt for people with disabilities and it would have been nice for both of the rooms I booked to have been closer rather than on different floors but presume that was not possible.
Review 32:The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very nice with plenty of choice.
Review 33:No Vegan options on menu. Had to adjust vegetarian food.
Review 34:The bed was amazing. Best sleep in two years. Definitely going to buy a premier bed. Staff were lovely and very helpful even though they were short staffed due to two people not showing for work, they remained cheerful.
Review 35:Took 45 mins for food to arrive. When it did arrive it was Luke warm. We were told this was due to short staffing but no refund was offered.
Review 36:I reported a tapping noise coming from air con in my room, problem was dealt with straight away
Review 37:The breakfast was only so so for the price and half the price next door in the pub. There were not enough staff on duty as the hotel was full and we had to wait quite a long time.
Review 38:The bed was amazingly comfortable
Review 39:i stayed 16 nights, my bed was never properly made, just threw the duvet back over the bed, just useless really. i had a breakfast wrapper on the bed, they just threw the duvet over and put the empty wrapper (obviously thrash) back on the bed!! one night i was at the restaurant , ordered a coke, and was brought two pints, i said I only wanted on, the male waiter , in a sarcastic tone said, well its special offer, if you don't want it just don't drink it. What a waste of a drink, cost management done the drain if you ask me!
Review 40:good location just off the motorway. although they do not do ironing boards i the rooms, they left me one for the entire stay.
Review 41:Friendly helpful staff, spotlessly clean reception areas and spacious rooms, good quality beds, good food. Everything was perfect for an overnight stay. You can leave well rested, well fed with a buffet breakfast and the staff treat you like they care that you have a comfortable stay. Great value for money.
Review 42:The only thing, which I know cannot be changed, is that the windows don't open. I do like fresh air but this is the only negative thing I can say. Air con to keep it cool instead!
Review 43:Literally one minute off motorway, so no noise. It had only just been refurbished and everything was spot on. Whilst the breakfast wasn't included in price, we ate there and it was very nice and good value. Staff were lovely. Will definitely use again. My disabled daughter had a brilliant room - thank you. Choice of places to eat just other side of car park (Toby Carvery or Frankie & Benny's + Costa coffee shop)
Review 44:Couple of issues; booking.com didn't pass full details of guests to hotel so only 2 adults where booked in therefore no beds made up in family room for children. Room was too small for the additional 2 beds, we where moved after about half an hour to a bigger room.
Review 45:Good location, nice staff.
Review 46:sealed bedroom windows and air con that didn't seem to want to play ball when trying to select a suitable temp. Also last morning was spoilt by cooked breakfast not being available on time so we had to miss out on hot breakfast due to our planned event opening times and traffic considerations, also just a thought for the hotel, they could maybe have taken into account the Silverstone event times and brought forward the breakfast time to their usual mon_fri 06:30 instead of 07:00 (even if just for the sunday race day) as there were quite a number of hotel guests going to the same event? On a smaller note I did mention in passing ref the missed breakfast when checking out but my comment seemed to go over the receptionist head as she still replied along the lines of "thanks anyway"? maybe listen a bit more could be called for.
Review 47:Great location just off the motorway but far enough that noise wasn't an issue, plenty of food choice either at the hotel or right beside, toby tavern Frankie & bennys and large costa.
Review 48:First room very small for a family room, staff not wonderful and can't hear the tv.
Review 49:Good breakfast, beautifully clean, plenty of eating choices nearby and very comfy beds.
Review 50:Sounds wrong but staff way over the top, Don't want a cheat when eating my tea after a 6 hour drive. Then all the confusion over if I paid for breakfast so had to go get my phone from my room and show email , Just felt to uncomfortable.
Review 51:Comfort of the room.very clean, but would like more then 2 teabags.
Review 52:Staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great value and the bonus was under 15's ate for free!!
Review 53:Having to wait for breakfast as there was a big crowd in the Hotel, we had to wait for the food to be cooked. Also the room was very warm and the A.C. was useless
Review 54:The bed was very comfortable.
Review 55:The reception area seemed nice, we weren't allowed any further on account that a member of staff had cancelled our booking. We were offered a tent in the children's playing area but we declined as it was clearly a 1 man sized and there was 2 of us (also I don't imagine it being waterproof or double skinned). Lenny Henry never mentioned this in the advert.
Review 56:Really well run, all the staff we met were really helpful, professional and welcoming. Breakfast was really good, great value as it's as much as you can eat !
Review 57:poor booking in by machine ,unable to get into room with swipe card. Friday evening meal was not up to standard ,was not charged for the meal. but did not eat in dinning room for rest of stay.
Review 58:The staff were very helpful and could not fault them.
Review 59:Hate the unnecessary electronic reception...WHY !!! Slow free wi fi. No heat in bed room only cold air con. It was freezing . Instructions did not relate to our system
Review 60:Clean .Comfortable .Nice staff and great breakfast. Good Value.
Review 61:It was very squashed with 4 of us in and I was a little concerned we couldn't open a window, especially in the case of a fire.
Review 62:The comfort of beds.
Review 63:The staff member on the desk had no customer service skills what so ever
Review 64:The bedrooms are a decent size, the bathroom had a separate toilet cubicle which was great.
Review 65:Not informed about the change to Premier. The Holiday sign removed, trouble when trying to locate the htl in the dark. Also, our booking was incorrect at the reception, money asked for.
Review 66:Staff, room very good
Review 67:Room allocated turned out to be occupied. Could've been akward had they been in. Teething problems with re-branding I guess. Noisey throughout the night which travelled throughout our room. Meant neither of us slept particularly well.
Review 68:Intelligent bathroom layout to make use of space Comfortable bed Decent size room
Review 69:Nothing bad to report..
Review 70:Even though the hotel is changing to a Premier inn, the staff were most helpful. They even discounted the room rate :) Because of the change I had been informed by the manager earlier in the week that breakfast and beverages would not be available, but no matter as the pub next door served carvery breakfast. Yippee
Review 71:The fact that we were told at last minutes about breakfast and that we were not told where to collect what breakfast was offered so never saw it until we were checking out by which time we had made other arrangement and having to young children had to do something.
Review 72:It was close to our friends
Review 73:Holiday Inn ceased trading in Banbury and apparently transitioning into a Premier Inn (July 2015) No breakfast contrary to initial booking, no bar and no restaurant. Worst of all no communication re this prior to my arrival...not good with no amendment of room rate.
Review 74:Bed comfortable, staff friendly and professional
Review 75:We wasn't iinformed there was no facility to get overselves a drink or a meal due to the hotel being taken over my premier inn and wasn't informed until we got to the front desk. No phone call prior. Due to this meant we spent more money on going to restuarnts for food and drink which was a pain and costly. The shower was very poor and didnt get hot.
