The hotel was voted by the AA as ‘Scotland's Hotel of the Year’ in 2004 and ‘AA Inspectors’ Choice' Red Star Hotel in 2006. Following a loving restoration, the stunning mansion house offers elegant interiors in a grand setting of manicured borders and lawns.

Review 2：Beautiful hotel in stunning grounds. Dinner and breakfast were excellent and the waiting staff attentive but not over bearing. Great place to relax after a busy festive period.

Review 3：I liked everything about the hotel. What I didn't like was that they had no record of our booking from yourselves even though I had a confirmation email from you. Fortunately they had room for us but if they hadn't I would not have been happy.

Review 6：I can't fault any aspect of our stay. The staff, accommodation,food and ambience were all excellent and we hope to return soon.

Review 7：Too hot at night and the food (Dinner) was very disappointing. Breakfast however was served with a smile and was delicious, especially the full Scottish breakfast. We ordered a steak sandwich for the room one evening. However most of the sandwich was filled with bacon, the bread was hard and the, "Fillet steak" almost broke my teeth. The Dinner at night (four nights) was what we found most disappointing with lack of variety, too many things going on in the plate, like a jackson Pollock of food.

Review 8：Lovely Hotel with beautiful surroundings. Staff were always polite. Beds were comfortable and the room was beautiful with a great view onto the front lawn where the rabbits bounded.

Review 9：Lovely room and service. We got a lovely anniversary decorated dessert plate after mentioning it was our 1st wedding anniversary and a superior room. Great overnight stay. Food was great too.

Review 12：Very little to complain about, the wifi wasn't great, very slow and kept getting thrown off, but I wasn't there to work so it wasn't too much of a problem.

Review 37：Absolutely everything. This hotel has never disappointed. The rooms are splendid, the staff are excellent, and the meals are delicious. We've been regular visitors for many years now, and while the staff changes regularly, the quality of the establishment is always the same. It's a luxury hotel, and while this is reflected in the price, there is nothing about the place that would make a guest feel uncomfortable. One of our most favoured hotels.

Review 38：This was our second visit. We returned because our first visit was excellent. We like the situation as it is under an hour from home, the accomodation is first class, the food is amazing and the staff are so attentive and pleasant.

Review 39：Understandably a popular place for weddings etc. Our original room was above the function room - but the noise was too much for us later on in the evening. Mentioned this to reception and we were moved to a different room without fuss or hassle. A very helpful team.

I did phone reception and they were very apologetic and said they would ask the band to turn the volume down a bit. It made no difference. Review 48：Beautiful setting, wonderful log fire burning in the grate of the impressive entrance hall. And it just got better and better. Superb room with a lovely deep roll top bath just waiting for a long leasurely soak. Huge room with every home comfort and a bed which gave us a really excellent nights sleep. Superb dinner, as always, served by attentive but not intrusive staff and the following morning a lovely breakfast finished off out stay in style.

Review 49：A bathroom cleanliness issue and the fact that we had only 1 single milk carton in the room - I cleaned up the first issue and more cartons were brought to replace the missing ones (although I did ask for a jug of fresh milk which wasn't what we got!). WIFI was rather iffy too.

All that's missing is a bar area to sit during the day but to be fair there was a wedding on that day and I think they were occupying that type of space. Review 107：Very friendly welcome. Spacious, beautifully furnished bedroom with views over the garden towards Royal Troon golf Club. We were moved to another room quite spontaneously when the hotel realised we might be inconvenienced by a major function taking place the following evening. We had dinner on one evening and it was excellent. Genuine fine dining.
