Reviews for The Gulliver's Hotel

Review 1:The environmental unit was not working when I entered the room (very cold) - I went to reception and a very helpful member of staff came and drained the unit. However, the unit did not last the night and it showed the same error when I got up (again very cold).

Review 2:I had a large family room all to myself. It was very spacious (and clean).

Review 3:Room with bath is more ideal with young children. Couldn't bathe them. Early check out, had to get up early and rush about and out. Didn't get told about the book in the room with taxis and buses numbers. If had known would of helped a lot as we didn't come with a car. We had to find bus stop and tax numbers ourselves. Hard with small children.

Review 4:When needed help, staff assisted straight away example travel cot needed. Free breakfast in the morning brilliant! Check in earlier than what was put down. Friendly staff,

Review 5:You could not order snacks would be good to have a snack bar or restaurant there

Review 6:Kids room with movies and toys plus activities put on that kept kids entertained

Review 7:indifferent staff, not acknowledged when arrived, staff relaxing in resident areas, holding their own conversations across the reception area when we were waiting to be helped. Brief exchange with day staff seemed more friendly and focussed.

Review 8:Very comfortable beds, large room, lovely building.

Review 9:The girl who checked us in had appalling customer service skills. She ignored us at first and then very slowly wandered off to check if the room was ready and then wandered back to tell us it was in a way that made us feel she really couldn't be bothered. The room was freezing but there was a heater, which kept starting up. We went out for tea and got back at around 10pm - to see all of the breakfast things already out including the yoghurts! They were on the side, not refrigerated and it was obvious that this is standard practice. The next morning they were still in the same place and so we were completely put off and we left without a meal. The bed was uncomfortable and the room was freezing. We had to turn the heater off because it was so noisy we couldn't sleep but then so cold, even with the big furry brown blanket that was available, that we still didn't sleep. We will never stay here again.

Review 10:The bunk beds in our room were great for kids - even though we don't have them ourselves we could see how much fun they would be for them! It was in a fairly good location for all the local shopping too.

Review 11:Plain and simple the food. The food option was the American diner at the park. I went across and the menu was very limited and it just didn't feel nice in there. Didn't stay for dinner. Breakfast wasn't much better either. They had pancakes but they were dry and I had to ask them for maple syrup. Then the bacon was stone cold. Other people realised that dinner wasn't appealing as I saw at least two people having takeaway delivered.

Review 12:Fantastic rooms. Much better than travelodge type rooms and much bigger. Great staff and lovely feel to the place. The staff were great and really helpful. Couldn't fault them and I'd definitely stay there again.

Review 13:Third stay here, bit disappointed that the kids bed wasnt made up and after arriving late wanted them in bed, was resolved after about 20 mimutes, guy on reception, whos name i didnt get very hrlpful and friendly

Review 14:Although my room was comfortable, it was not the one I ordered. One day my bed was not made up. There were insufficient toiletries (no shampoo or conditioner). There was no outside line on the phone.

Review 15:Excellent value for money and a very friendly staff. The WiFi worked perfectly. Location-wise the property is midway between Manchester and Liverpool, easy access to motorways and Warrington itself had plenty to offer.

Review 16:Amazing hotel. Brilliant facilities for kids. Staff couldn't do enough for us. Not one complaint or grumble. This was our second visit and we will back again and again.

Review 17:No restaurant on site. Only option nearby was to eat in gulliver restaurant across the road which is more designed for families with small children. Breakfast was a bit of a farce, no fruit juice available, no plates or cutlery and only one staff trying to run everuthong

Review 18:Not a lot. Hotel could have been much better if a but more thought was put in

Review 19:Play area in bar ie tv room, was not really child friendly. My grandson fell and hit face on sharp corner of table near door. This room should not have shop corners. However the staff were fert attentive and took note. Also no toiletries in room!!

Review 20:The room was spacious ideal for a family as was the hotel. Ideally located near park. Also Spotlessly clean. Something for every age in the theme park.

Review 21:Room dirty, cold, over crowded, noisy guests (until 3.00 a.m). Breakfast was almost inedible and breakfast room on Sunday was unpleasant, away from accommodation, and foul music blaring out. Signage to hotel parking and reception was almost non existent.

Review 22:Nothing

Review 23:No proper heating (a massive and very loud aircon machine that could not be used if you wanted to sleep or hear anything in general). No shampoo in the shower? Seriously? After enquiring at reception I was told that I could buy a bottle of kids shampoo if I wanted. Had to wash with handsoap in the end. Terrible breakfast with no decaf tea or coffee, no jam, no pancakes (but sauces etc for pancakes) and a very limited breakfast selection. One piece of toast also caught fire in the toast machine. Like actually caught fire. Also, for a hotel aimed at children and families there seemed to be a lot of childless people about which was a bit odd. From what I remember the booking site also does not make families aware that the park is closed unless you go hunting for it. Would not be back I am afraid.

Review 24:The staff where friendly enough

Review 25:Cant fault this hotel, second visit now offered free upgrade to the nerf room, which kids loved, staff always friendly, and cant do enough for you, activities for kids and movie night too, highly reccomend, will definetly stay again.

Review 26:Would have been better if hotel room had an iron and reception area had vending machines.

Review 27:I enjoyed the hotel room, the staff and the facilities. Value for money was good and breakfast was yummy.

Review 28:Evening meal in the diner wasn't good could do with a nicer eating area in the hotel, we went out the second night

Review 29:It was close to the park and good facilities for the children

Review 30:The heater / radiator in our room didn't work so we had to move. This meant us losing our bath which was a shame. The staff dealt with it all fairly well though and gave the kids a prezzy for the inconvenience

Review 31:This is a very nice hotel, perfectly situated for a visit to Gulliver's World. The bedrooms are spacious and the breakfast, albeit a 200m walk from the hotel was superb

Review 32:The hotel does not have a kitchen that opens every night - sometimes you have to walk to the theme park to get food which is not ideal if raining.

Review 33:Good value for money

Review 34:Neighbouring room let their door bang around midnight and woke one of our children up and in the morning, the room above us had children running around and you could here them, it woke me up.

Review 35:We stayed here, as we were attending a wedding nearby. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked a large family room, with the tree house beds and the room didn't disappoint. Breakfast was perfect, everything you could want to set you up for the morning. Loved the decore. Pity we didn't stay another day!

Review 36:Our room was next to the dining area and the door was always propped open which was a bit noisy

Review 37:Great sized room with king size bed and kids bunk beds each had their own t.v

Review 38:Room far too hot, towels far too small and no cold water so shower/ bath far to hot. Key card stopped working and had to be reset.

Review 39:Good size room, breakfast good with plenty of options. Liked the playroom and options for evening entertainment although we couldn't use them. Location good.

Review 40:We was given the wrong room with no kids beds and had to wait for another 1 to be sorted out but it was not a long wait.

Review 41:The relaxed atmosphere and comfort of hotel

Review 42:On the second night, there was excessive noise from upstairs with kids running around late at night. We Informed the staff but Noise still happened until after midnight.

Review 43:Kids absolutely loved the Hotel and the Facilities and going into Splash Zone and Nerf Zone

Review 44:There was no body wash in the bathroom. The air conditioning unit was very noisy when on and the room was very cold so we had to have it on.

Review 45:The children's beds in the family suite were excellent, my son really loved the tree house bunk bed and that he had his own tv.

Review 46:Room bland and bare. Hotel caters for families with children and is ideal for them. We are an older couple. Excellent price though so no real complaints.

Review 47:Breakfast was superb. Bit of a wait for scrambled egg, because it had all been taken, but good when it arrived. Cooked well not sloppy. good selection. Staff helpful and friendly. Beds comfortable. Fantastic off peak deal on price. Coffee/tea making facilities in room Large screen TV in good position on wall. Not high up or in corner so no need to bend neck when in bed.

Review 48:Our room had a few dead wasps in and it was cold. The breakfast was very disappointing. No toast and chef was not the friendliest.

Review 49:Hotel staff (majority) where lovely and very helpful. Rooms were very spacious, bright and welcoming. Great value for money.

Review 50:It was not the hotels fault but driving to the east side of Warrington at 0800hrs took almost one hour to travel five miles. The traffic at that rush hour time is horrendous! There was no dinner /bar menu. Reception offered a hot dog or pizza / garlic bread.

Review 51:I got a good room rate and it was great value. Decent size room.

Review 52:No Telephone, despite repeated requests No internet in the room, 'cable had been cut'; had to go to the reception area & that had very poor reception. carpet in the room had marks, unpleasant Heater did not work properly Poor breakfast, Monday night no American diner so limited choice of food that night.

Review 53:Good sized room

Review 54:The breakfast and food service isn't great. The rooms really need a good thorough cleaning and freshen up - dirty finger marks and scuff marks on all the walls and some pretty big stains on the carpets.

Review 55:Comfortable bed and very quiet location. Lots of sockets. Good size TV with lots of channels (unusual in this area).

Review 56:Room was excellent and out of season price was a complete bargain. Excellent room. Catering arrangements a bit awkward for evening meal - had to walk across carpark to the diner - which had excellent staff and the food was good.

Review 57:breakfast was cold but that was in the theme park rather than the hotel so a bit out of the hotels hands. Wiifi wa a bit hit and miss.

Review 58:clean room, excellent staff. The little extras like sweets in the room and a movie night with cookies and milk were great. Perfect for a trip to Gullivers World. Had a free upgrade which was lovely.

Review 59:The bed was rock hard :-/ and the free breakfast was terrible! No where to Eat in the hotel had to have pizzas ordered in

Review 60:Lovely clean and modern hotel

Review 61:The breakfast it is normally in the diner which is lovely but we had to ask for more milk there was no eggs and the tables were mucky we had to ask for clean knifes and forks

Review 62:How we were upgraded for free to the superior themed suite beautiful view from our balcony made my child's day thank you

Review 63:'Nerf' styled bilious coloured bedroom ... Great for 8 year olds, but barking for normal travellers ...

Review 64:Cheap room out of season in a kids resort

Review 65:the staff were very friendly and helpful. we were very pleased with our theme room, our little boy was over the moon!! the treasure box inside a box and so on was a lovely touch!! will definately be staying again!

Review 66:When we went for breakfast at diner most of the breakfast had run out and staff were not very friendly

Review 67:Staff were lovely and really helpful. Nice hotel rooms are spacious

Review 68:Unfortunately the breakfast was a real disappointment... we went down for breakfast at least 30mins.before end of serving time only to find most of the food had been cleared....Not good!!!

Review 69:room excellent/ very comfortable/ we could not fault the room at all. Plenty of hot water and lovely white towels.

Review 70:Had to stand and wait for receptionist to appear. No proper bar or restaurant

Review 71:The throw, fridge in room, lovely tv and lighting. clean well light good wifi and car park

Review 72:The negative was no restaurant at the hotel. The big diner was appalling, unorganised, chaotic, wait time for food over an hour. The food was cold when it arrived and overpriced. The staff were also rude. You had to also attend the morning after walking across a cold car park to have breakfast. Not a good feature at all!!

Review 73:The hotel staff were very polite and curtious. The hotel was lovely and very child freindly. Check in and check out was stress free.

Review 74:The breakfast was not good as the plates and cups were a bit smelly and you have to book your breakfast slot one night in advance and there are limited number of slots Also the checkout time is 10:30 which is very early

Review 75:The location of the hotel and how quiet it is in the area with good access to warrington park

Review 76:Nothing at all, except having to leave of course!!

Review 77:We stayed in a themed family suite for a treat for our girls we all totally loved it. We would love to stay for longer we will have to start saving, this has to be our favorite place to stay!

Review 78:Breakfast was horrible at the diner plastic cups for juices and dirty stained teacups

Review 79:Staff at hotel very good and cinema room showing frozen in the evening for children with free milk and biscuits was a nice touch

Review 80:A little unorganised in the American dinner where we had our breakfast. But we weren't in a rush. So didn't really matter. Food was good, and a wide variety for kiddies and us big kids !

Review 81:The whole experience! So child friendly. Film with milk and cookies after dinner. Trees house shaped bunk beds in the family suites. Everything was clean and comfy. Fantastic price. Best hotel we have staying in for a long time. Thanks guys

Review 82:The rude member of staff in the servery at breakfast no need to do what she did !

Review 83:Excellent hotel great for families kids loved it kept them busy with the playroom and movie night , breakfast was great until a member of staff (female foreign ) grabbed my 10 year old daughters pancakes off the toaster (it self serve) as I was about to get them as they were not to be cooked in the toaster they were only on the rack! The member of staff grabbed them and threw them into the bin said no cooking in there walked off ! Daughter was cryin all she had to do was take them off the toaster rack back Onto her plate as I was about to do it not throw them three metres into a bin and walked off huffing , then she avoided us and other guests who wanted there pancakes cooked we got a polite man instead who was only happy to help everything was great apart from this member of staff throwing food away

Review 84:The children's play area inside could do with a lack of paint and new toys etc inside. Many were broken and there was graffiti all over the walls in there which was a shame.

Review 85:Lovely room for the price that we paid, helpful staff and lots of parking available. Very comfortable night and clean room.

Review 86:Thought there may have been more eating area facilities in hotel itself. Had to go accross car park back to theme park at night.

Review 87:We where impressed with our overall stay. Staff where friendly and put birthday banners in room. Facilities where nice and room did enough. Next stay i will be upgrading to balcony room. Overall excellent stay and very happy.

Review 88:The breakfast set up is a little unorthodox in that you walk across the car park to a restaurant in the Gullivers Theme Park. On arrival at the restaurant we were told we could sit at one of two tables, we chose the more comfortable booth. After 5 minutes, breakfast going well, we were asked to move as there were a larger group needing our booth. We had to move all of our plates, cups, fruit to another table - spilling juice and breakfast enroute. We were not assisted by staff, nor was there an offer to clear up spillages. We sat eating for a further 30 minutes, no larger group arrived and the original table was not even reset. We reported our dissatisfaction to reception and were told to email the manager. We did so, but did not receive a response. The breakfast incident took the shine off of our stay.....

Review 89:Friendly staff, comfortable bed and location...

Review 90:The restaurant wasn't attached to hotel building, luckily it was dry to walk across to. The food in the diner was awful, breakfast was slightly better.

Review 91:Child friendly

Review 92:They put up their prices in school holidays.

Review 93:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The whole hotel is geared towards children. There is a play room inside, slides outside and in the evenings they put on a children's film. The rooms were extremely clean and inviting.

Review 94:Staff - despite having booked a late check-out (because of my 2am check-in), the receptionist was banging on my door at 10.45am shouting that I needed to get out, waking me up in the process. When I called out that I had a late check-out booked, she just called out "right, ok", when I should have received an unreserved apology! Rude and unhelpful

Review 95:Not much

Review 96:Unfortunately the shower in room 132 was terrible. it was scolding hot or freezing cold. took me 10mins to attempt to work it out before I gave up. due to needing to check out by 10.30 am I notified hotel staff on check out. but was a bit disappointed.

Review 97:Booked a standard double and got given a themed room. made my day :-) 6ft bed. didn't expect much for breakfast as it said light breakfast, but there were cereals, fruit, yoghurts, toast and hot cooked breakfast. (sausages, bacon, beans, scrambled egg, hash browns etc). Our room was also very quiet :-)

Review 98:Childrens play room was pretty dirty the carpets and toys were needing renewed completely. Our room in general was clean but was also a little tired.

Review 99:Staff were pleasant and helpful. Our room was a good size. The children's entertain in the hotel was perfect.

Review 100:Brilliant for the kids, even a movie with cookies and milk, room spotless and comfortable with sweets and drinks for the kids too, breakfast spot on, rebooked already

Review 101:The lack of night time children's entertainment. There was supposed to be an entertainer arriving. We went into the area to meet him but was told he had family issues and couldn't attend. Rather than replacing the entertainment (dancing etc) the children decorated biscuits and were told to come back for the movie night.

Review 102:The room. Especially the tree house bunk beds. The children loved them!

Review 103:Rooms could do with a touch up of paint but other than that everything was fine.

Review 104:Hotel is set in a quiet location but still close enough to various amenities and quick access to the motorway. The hotel is geared up for families and excellent value for money.

Review 105:Staff very helpful and pleasant..Room comfortable and clean..Brilliant breakfast..Children totally enjoyed themselves!! Looking forward to our next visit..

Review 106:the shower was broken, the aircon in the room was so noisy you could not sleep when you turned it on, turn it off and it was too hot to sleep. I also didnt like the fact i was charged an extra ammount on my bill for the accomodation. It wasnt the price of the extra but the principle. I thought i had payed up. The person behind the counter didnt seen to able able to explain at all.

Review 107:it was off the beaten track and i needed quite

Review 108:As a family with young children , hotel is ideal . Kids are entertained plenty for them to do in the hotel , and the rooms are fab with the bunk bed area just for them !

Review 109:Loved every minute so nothing to complain about.

Review 110:How much there is for our 5 and 4 year old and how friendly and enthusiastic the childrens entertainer was at the night.

Review 111:The man on reception was confused by our arrival, we were offered a room at £54. He then charged us £50. After some explaining he realised we had already booked, this time our room was £52 so we were to pay £2 more. All very confusing!

Review 112:I booked a room with beds for the children, we were given a sofa bed. After a conversation with reception we got an upgrade to a bedroom with really quirky bunk beds which pleased our little travellers. The hotel was well equipped for children.

Review 113:Some bits of room cleaning could be better, cobweb in corner of bedroom and a handmark on a bathroom surface which was not mine

Review 114:Friendly staff - very relaxed stay

Review 115:A couple of noisy families coming back to rooms after 11pm and children running down corridors early in morning. Only a few and not the hotel's fault, but did disturb us as we were already asleep.

Review 116:Room very clean and bed extremely comfortable. Staff at reception very helpful and friendly.

Review 117:Lift not working breakfast cold and having to walk over to another building for breakfast. Manager of hotel was very good.

Review 118:Movie for son with milk and cookie which he loved.

Review 119:Nothing at all.

Review 120:Couldn't have been happier with the place. Staff were fab, so welcoming and accomodating. So safe for the little ones. We will defiantly be back!

Review 121:The rooms were nice, staff were Welcoming and friendly and there was an evening movie for the kids with milk and biscuits which I thought was a great!!!I would recommend to others.

Review 122:Gullivers world theme park - have to have a child to enter the park but not told this when buying tickets

Review 123:Hotel was lovely and included breakfast in the rate which was also amazing

Review 124:I use You Tube a lot yo view trainig sessions and tech info and it was blocked. Could have more comfortable chairs. Just one (quite rickety) chair.

Review 125:Friendly. Huge comfortable room and just a bit different from your regular hotels.

Review 126:There isn't anything to moan about !!

Review 127:Fab place. Staff are amazing and very friendly. Rooms are big and always clean. There are lots of nice touches too especially the sweetie jar!!!

Review 128:N/a

Review 129:Stayed on 18th Sept till 20th Sept fabulous hotel staff very friendly hotel was clean and soooo comfortable this was our 2nd stay and would definitely stay again

Review 130:customer service was not up to standard at the breakfast area. There were no one in hand to direct you where to sit and plates for serving breakfast were not on display. A member of the reception has eventually helped which was good. Food presentation was not very attractive. Also limited offering for example there is no fruit available or even no juices of any kind were on offer. The scrambled eggs were very rubbery!

Review 131:The comfort, location and customer service

Review 132:Remote from any restaurants. Bed short - two singles put together. Geared up for children and families. Breakfast was grim - cheap and nasty sausages, dried scrambled egg, ghastly hash-browns. Expensive for what it offers, especially compared to other hotels

Review 133:Spacious room with balcony. Quiet whilst I was there, but wouldn't be in holiday times

Review 134:there was nothing I did not like

Review 135:I liked the friendly staff, the cleanliness of the room and over all hotel appearance, the location was great and easy to find, and I will be recommending to family and friends

Review 136:Me and a group of friends went to the reminiscence festival 9 miles away and stayed in gullivers world hotel staff were lovely Sharon the manageress in the hotel lovely and I think her name was shanice was lovely all so helpful defiantly recommend thanks the Stevens party

Review 137:The only restaurant there was to eat was very poor food and poor service . Took 1.5hrs to get food but this point children were too tired as. Food was not very good

Review 138:The hotel the children loved theme. Excitement of adventure

Review 139:Major let down for this hotel is availability of food. Food not served till 8 o'clock which is too late for children. No lunch options either. We didn't go to the park till our second day so the only option for lunch was at the parks diner. Pizza and pasta all you can eat was the only Childrens option. My daughter doesn't like either. Both days we had to drive to local harvester. If they served food all day then the hotel would be perfect. The hotel is busy enough.

Review 140:Clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Family suite really spacious. Upgraded for free.
