Review 1：We were looking for a perfect place for our first sea holidays as a family - for me, my husband and our 1,5 year old son and we found it indeed here. We stayed in the first half of September for 10 days, where the weather is still great, but the very peak season is over. While reading this, consider it might be different in July :-) If you seek for luxurious accommodation with high dining restaurant and busy night life, this is not for you :-) Hotel is very quit, small and with a family and friendly atmosphere. Pool has perfect size, with kids section, just few steps from the beach. By the pool and on the beach you will always have unoccupied sunbed and umbrella, there is no proper restaurant in the house, just a pool bar so the menu is simple, offering salads, burgers, pizza, pasta etc. Breakfast we had just once, cause we are more lunch/dinner people. During our stay there were some theme dinners which were always great. Barbara who is taking care of the cooking, is always helpful to prepare something special if you wish (eg. for kid, which we did not required) and you will just love her desserts. Thea is the one helping all the time with organization of everything and you can always ask her for help. Both ladies speak German which is very comfortable if you prefer this language (as I do) The location is very calm and relaxing, with just few hotels around, while there is lots of supermarkets in walking distance with all supplies you might need (food, drinks, beach equipment, postcards, souvenirs) and you will find also few taverns around if you need "better" dining. (we did not tried any, as we were satisfied) I have no idea about public transportation as we hired a car for our whole stay and were travelling on the island almost every day - which I definitely recommend to do. Parking, WiFi (not working very well directly in the room), deposit box, air-con, sunbeds and umbrellas are free of charge!

Review 2：The hotel should perhaps consider getting a sign up on the main road as it is quite difficult to find the first time.

Review 3：Great, little hotel right on the beach with a decent sized pool area. Everything was well-kept and clean, the staff very friendly and hospitable. The location is quite secluded, which we found relaxing and ideal when travelling with younger children. Platanias is just a short cab ride away (approx. 8 euros) for more nightlife, shops, bars and restaurants. The beach location was great, with a life guard on duty, and the beach itself was not overcrowded.

Review 4：The self-catering kitchenettes are quite Spartan but very clean and serviceable. We cooked some great meals to enjoy on our little balcony, watching the sun set!

Review 5：Barbara and Thea absolutely made our stay the most wonderful vacation, ever! Right from the moment we were greeted as we stepped out of the taxi (thoughtfully arranged by the hotel) we were treated like royalty! The beach and pool were delightful, the food was great (OMG, can Barbara cook!) and the arrangements Thea made for our trips to Samaria Gorge and Balos were perfect. We would ABSOLUTELY stay here again.

Review 6：Hard to find on arrival (how difficult is it to put a sign on the road??). Rooms are nice but the main room was the only one with efficient aircon, the other room/living room/kitchen had a very old device that produces more noise than anything else. The design of the pool is nice but it's rather small and unfortunately having it against the bar wall reduces the space available around it by half, which leaves just enough room for maybe 18 or 19 sunbeds (for 19 apartments). Fills up quickly! Also the bar is on the western side of the pool which means its shadow covers the pool from 4-5pm.

Review 7：Friendly staff, very efficient in helping you organize tours/visits/... Location near Platanias is great, it's a quick drive to Platanias' main street and its entertainment. Can't comment on food as we didn't use the restaurant.

Review 10：Apartment would need some improvements…first of all – air condition – only in sleeping bedroom and works only while hotel card is putted on. Kitchen corner below expectation – you won’t find an equipment like frying pan, nifes, bowl, even kettle to prepare coffe or tea… Beds were for us too far too hard but it depends what you like.. Few nights were very loudly due to parties in neighbor hotels but in Carreta always was very quiet.

Review 11：Location – perfect. Nice beach, mostly with sand, you can rent a set of sunbeds and umbrella for a small fee. Not many people on the beach, mainly families, due to Hotel is placed on suburbs of Gerani which assure you that even in high season you will find a peace here and will enjoy relaxing. What I really appreciated was a fact that I didn’t have to “fight” for sunbeds by pool. There was even a days that we could enjoy swimming completely alone and I guess all because that quests can choose between pool and sea. Fresh orange juice, frappe – pool bar can provide you all you want:-) Hotel staff – extremely nice, friendly, willing for assistance, except cleaning staff who don’t speak English at all. Cleanliness in general on very high level. Really nice welcome. Food – reasonable prices comparing to restaurants in Platanias and quite good. Apartment with sea view was lovely. Basically all was great.

Review 18：Location of place, peaceful and good beach. Hotel staff were very kindly and helpful. Location at Gerani village (just next after Platani) is great, for example ac bus to Chania cost only 2 eur/pp and still if you want to get shopping or other kind of restaurants it takes only 20 min walk to Platanias

Review 23：The road down to the hotel is not easy to find without a map, there are no signs. The kitchen matches te style of the hotel, the 'special of the day' is a good meal and good value for money. But don't expect an haute cuisine meal.

Review 26：We liked this hotel very much. Our apartment was comfortable, spacious for 3 of us (incl. child) and had everything we needed (large bed, sofa, kitchen, air-conditioning, safe, hair-drier, etc.). It was cleaned every day, towels and sheets were changed every 2 and 3 days. There are different variants of breakfast at the bar at the maximum price of 8 EUR. And with your meal you get a wonderful sea view. They also serve dinner, but you should order main dish in advance. As we were traveling around the region and didn't plan were to eat, we had dinner at the hotel only twice, and it was tasty. There are other restaurants nearby, one of them at the hotel next to this. The location was perfect for us. We were traveling by car, and National road was easily accessible. The hotel isn't large, it is situated in a quiet place at the beach. There is a supermarket quite close. If you want to reach the places were many bars, restaurants or supermarkets are, you can walk 10-15 min or drive couple of minutes. When you go to the hotel for the first time you'd better use navigator or keep the contact phone number with you, because the front of the hotel isn't seen from the road, and there are no signs showing how to find it. What we liked most in this hotel were people working there. Thea and Barbara are wonderful, we really were welcomed there, and they were ready to help anytime. And Thea has a great knowledge of different places on Crete, we learned much from her about were to go, what to see, and also about traditions and history. If some day we come to this region, we'll no doubt stay at this hotel again.

Review 27：This is a beautiful, pristine seaside hotel. The managers are fantastic and completely at your service, making for a truly comfortable and relaxing stay. This was a great place to bring my family for our holiday, and I would eagerly stay there again..
