Review 1:Fantastic wet room with waterfall shower. The breakfast was fab especially the sausage. The staff were great , friendly and full of local knowledge and tips for our stay.
Review 2:No bottled water to drink which wouldn't have been an issue if the cold tap had not sometimes decided to run hot so had no drinking water.
Review 3:Beautiful room and view! Went out of their way to get us a bottle of bubbly for our honeymoon.
Review 4:Our room had a shop window type window which didn't open.
Review 5:The history of the building, visible in ancient features. The view of the tops of the cathedral towers. The sound of the bells (switched off at night).
Review 6:Unfortunately the ensuite bathroom smelt of sewage throughout the stay - unpleasant!

Review 10:My only suggestion would be to install a light above the bathroom mirror.
Review 11:Very friendly staff but not in your face! Great building with period features and lovely decor. My modern bathroom complimented the authentic old style bedroom.
Review 12:nothing to dislike or quibble over at all
Review 13:everything. Fabulous room. amazing location, vfm. the sound of the Minster bells, the sight of the towers above the opposite roofs. Excellent , helpful friendly but unobtrusive management. Great dining recommendations.
Review 14:I had made a horrible mistake with my check out date. Paul was absolutely amazing and went out of his way to make sure I was taken care off . .
Review 15:I couldn't fault this place!
Review 16:Warm welcome on arrival. Room was spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable. Bathroom lovely and warm with luxurious towels. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff/owners. Great location. Wouldn't hesitate to return.
Review 17:The location cannot be bettered - next to both the Cathedral and Castle - and to have free on-site parking at such a location was a bonus. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and the breakfasts were excellent.
Review 18:The location and friendly staff that looked after us. The breakfast service and quality of food was excellent . we loved the style and decor of the room as well. The character of the rooms and comfort was also very good.
Review 19:Only drawback was the access to the parking area, but that was offset by the superb location.
Review 20:Lovely touches in presentation and decor without being twee. Excellent breakfast scrambled eggs were real rather than powdered.
Review 21:kettle was located on a stone hearth extension, not really suitable. Wish there had been a small piece of furniture to have tea and coffee facilities with kettle at a more safer height.
Review 22:Nothing..
Review 23:Ideally situated, lovely breakfast, one of the tastiest we have had. Comfy bed and free parking. What more can you want? Great value for money
Review 24:The only thing Ì would change would be to be able to open a window, but as we were street level that would be a secuŕity risk.
Review 25:Loved where it was situated, the comfort and fiendliness. Anď being able to park.
Review 26:Nothing to add here - all fine
Review 27:Excellent accommodation, superb fresh cooked breakfast, friendly staff and within 'spitting' distance of the cathedral and castle. perfect.
Review 28:Brilliant location two to three mins walk from the Cathedral, Castle, local shops and several good pubs and restaurants. Located in a grade II listed mediaeval building with off street parking.
Review 29:The hotel was very well located for Lincoln City Centre. Plenty of bars and restaurants close by. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the room was of a high standard and very clean.
Review 30:Cathedral Guest House is a lovely former coaching inn, full of character. The location is excellent - just a few minutes walk from the Cathedral and Castle. The owners and staff were very friendly, the food was delicious and the room was clean and comfortable. Couldn't ask for more.
Review 31:Bedroom lighting could be improved.
Review 32:Being adjacent to the Cathedral and Castle. Surrounded by Tea Rooms, Pubs and Restaurants. Adequate off road car parking facility. Ideal for exploring the Old Town and surrounding areas of Lincoln.
Review 33:We were expecting en suite facilities and although the shower room with WC was for our sole use it was across the landing from our room. Not ideal when having to use the facilities in the middle of the night!
Review 34:Excellent location for exploring old Lincoln. Very friendly couple who worked very hard in providing a comfortable and homely guest house.
Review 35:Parking a bit difficult in hotel car park but owner let us leave car for a few hours after we checked out.
Review 36:Excellent location right next Cathedral and Castle but very quiet.
Review 37:It is in a perfect location for seeing the ancient heart of Lincoln, an old house perfectly preserved and yet with all modern amenities. Comfortable room and bed, friendly, helpful staff, and an excellent breakfast. Hope to return here some time.
Review 38:Lovely room, central and excellent staff. Tracey is great, cheerful and very helpful. Paul, the owner was also very welcoming and helpful. Planning the next trip already.
Review 39:There are no issues i could flag up.
Review 40:Great location. Pubs and restaurants on your doorstep. The accommodation is excellent. Always a warm welcome from Paul and the staff. Breakfast is first class. There is other accommodation in the vicinity, but i rate this the best of the lot. Will be returning soon hopefully!
Review 41:All was great!
Review 42:Very atmospheric place in an excellent location (right near cathedral) Room lovely. Very clean, spacious room. 800-year old home. Owner very friendly and breakfast was excellent.
Review 43:all good
Review 44:Friendly welcome. Our room with its exposed beams was a novelty. Excellent location to explore the cathedral precinct. Hearty breakfast supplied.
Review 45:The accommodation, food and staff were excellent. This hotel was fabulous. Fantastic full English breakfast. Great value for money. Would highly recommend.
Review 46:Paul & Tracey made us feel very welcome. The room was large & the bed comfortable and the breakfast was great (although the marmalade was a bit sweet for our taste).
Review 47:We thought the location was excellent, the room was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. The B and B is an interesting historical building within an historical precinct.
Review 48:We stayed in room 7 which was full of character and very spacious. The shower was lovely and powerful. Paul and the other staff were friendly and very helpful and the breakfast was delicious. The location was excellent too.
Review 49:Paintwork was a bit tatty in places and room could have done with a chair!
Review 50:The guesthouse was perfectly situated to explore the best of Lincoln - both the Castle and Cathedral were literally just around the corner. So were lots of restaurants and pubs and the Visitor Centre. Paul, the owner of the guesthouse was very friendly and helped us to plan our days out - to summarise, we had a great time....Lincoln is a great place!
Review 51:Well looked after by the lovely, friendly staff. Our room was tastefully decorated which complemented the 12th century building with all it's beams! First class cooked breakfast! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Review 52:Nothing - we enjoyed every moment.
Review 53:We loved the location; so close to all the sights we wished to visit. The owners could not have been more helpful and welcoming; and the room was so comfortable. The walk in wet room fabulous. A wonderful experience..
Review 54:Our room was room 7. This was in the roof space with low beams (I bashed my head 3 times) and with extremely difficult stairs to our room. Being a 6 foot, 74 yr old, I would not recommend this room unless you are quite agile. It was spacious though with a TV at each end.
Review 55:Right in the centre. Good hosts, great breakfast and a very old property with a lot of character and history.
Review 56:Nothing to dislike.
Review 57:Very clean, comfortable accommodation, fantastic location, very helpful owner. Wonderful breakfast which will set you up for the day. Nothing was too much trouble.
Review 58:I didn't realise there was a wifi booster. the main wifi does not cover the room we were in, the booster does, if you know about it.
Review 59:The house really is OLD but comfortable and it had high ceilings! I've been in old houses that were made for very short people, but this one produced no lumps on my head.
Review 60:Pillows a little lumpy and towels thin. All the same this is a real 'nit pick' comment for what was a truly excellent place to stay.
Review 61:Historic building and interiors in prime location, excellent value and standard of service
Review 62:Only one chair in a large ground floor room for two people. Need to keep lower shutters closed for privacy. Bedside lamps switches difficult to locate in the dark. Lack of information regarding essential .services (ie Doctor dentist etc)
Review 63:En suite small but well done Owner pleased to help and personable. Convenient for both Castle and Cathedral
Review 64:No complaints what so ever.
Review 65:Perfect location for restaurants and pubs! First class breakfast, friendly staff , beautiful guest house with first class decor. Look forward to going back in the near future.
Review 66:We didn't like the bacon, but that is just our taste.
Review 67:The location was excellent, close to all historic buildings. The room was well furnished and maintained, we plan to visit again.
Review 68:The parking is a bit tight but wasnt a problem for us aas Paul was always on hand toget you in & out if needed.
Review 69:Paul & Hailey were very friendly & helpfull. Lovely place to stay right on the doorstep to Castle & Cathedral. Plenty of eating places around.Loved BonBonMarche Tea rooms.cakes to die for. Pauls full breakfast was superb. We will be back for sure.
Review 70:Trying to find property, but phoned guest house and they kindly stayed on the phone and directed us.
Review 71:Everything. Will definitely stay here again when in lincoln. Room so steeped in history. We was in room 1. This used to be the bar in the 17th century when it was a coaching house. Had a great big open fireplace. Breakfast excellent and comes to order. Couldn't get any nearer to the cathederal , castle and old world shops. BRILLIANT
Review 72:Great to be so central, easy to pop in and out if we felt like a rest. A warm and cosy refuge as it was cold out. Lovely external bathroom, we were in room three.
Review 73:Car parking horrendous, nowhere near big enough to park anything largerthan a small car. My car was damaged on the first day of my stay, whenthe damage was noticed the following morning we decided to leave as wedid not want further damage. We reported to the staff on duty who thenphoned the manager to let him know what had happened. The manager showedno interest, did not ask to speak to us and did not even get the memberof staff to have a look at my car.We were still charged our secondnights stay at the full price and offered no compensation or gesture ofgood will. So we would not stay in this hotel again.
Review 74:Room very nice, breakfast ok.
Review 75:Car parking could be a little tight but really welcome to have off-road facilities in this restricted part of the town.
Review 76:Friendly owners and staff Lovely full English breakfast Central position for the old town Clean, comfortable room with excellent en-suite
Review 77:External bathroom, it was private and right opposite the room but im pregnant and need to pee a lot in the night haha. But it was explained to us why the room didn't have ensuite and it was a valid reason!
Review 78:Hosts, room decor, location, history of the guest house, amazing bed. Lovely breakfast.
Review 79:Very large comfortable room- although at the front of the building, noise not a problem. Staff very friendly and helpful with a wonderful breakfast. Private car parking on site, a must for my 'Audi' partner.
Review 80:We had the room in the attic and kept banging our heads, although we are not particularly tall. The roof beams are scenic but just too low.
Review 81:excellent location, lovely breakfast, beautiful breakfast room, attentive hosts.
Review 82:Although the guest house advertised 'Free Wi-Fi' it was limited to the lounge area and could not be picked up in the room.
Review 83:The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The ground floor room was a good size but lacked an easy chair. The breakfast was excellent.
Review 84:We stayed on ground floor and it was a little noisy at times with people coming in and out.
Review 85:Location excellent for bars and restaurants, rooms very bright and spacious.
Review 86:The staff were there to welcome us and were helpful with planning our stay. The location of the Guest House was perfect to visit all Lincoln's attraction without using the car.Bonus
Review 87:Leaving and not knowing how soon we can go back!
Review 88:Grade II listed building means you get to stay in a beautifully renovated environment with all the character and history of Lincoln.
Review 89:Cathedral View is centred almost next to the Cathedral itself. With the local shops nearby and the best of the restaurants and history within short walking distance, it's the perfect place to be situated when coming to Lincoln. Breakfasts were excellent and it was also extremely helpful to have parking facilities given the difficulty there is in parking in general in the city.
Review 90:Ideal location in the historical part of Lincoln. The room we had at the top of the house was spacious, low oak beams and with a view of the Cathdral spires. A warm welcome. Breakfast was plentiful and very nice.
Review 91:I couldn't get a mobile phone connection or access the free wifi. However this didn't spoil my stay in the slightest.
Review 92:This is a fantastic guest house with very comfortable facilities in a great location. Lovely shops, bars and restaurant close by and in the shadow on the stunning Lincoln cathedral. The breakfast was lovely and the host Paul was very nice and helpful.
Review 93:Breakfast room lovely....nice little touches here and there. Food excellent. Pleasant "waiter!". Location perfect. very close to cathedral. We had Room 4 which was nicely furnished and did indeed have a view of the cathedral....its towers anyway! Would happily stay again.
Review 94:Bit of a tight squeeze in the car park if you have a large car.
Review 95:The Cathedral quarter us a great place to stay. The magnificent cathedral a stones throw away from Cathedral view and bars restaraunt s just round the corner. Stayed in room 3 which is not en-suite but shower/toilet is right across the landing so wasn't a problem. Welcoming helpful staff and a good choice for breakfast. Would recommend to anyone.
Review 96:Wifi didn't seem to reach the bedroom but ok downstairs. Shower door faulty.
Review 97:Staff very friendly and helpful. Let us lexve the car in car park for a few hours after checkout. Superb location for shopping and sight seeing. Room clean and bed comfortable. Breakfast was great. Would definitely recommend.
Review 98:Building work going on next door and traffic noise from the road. Breakfast was adequate but not as varied or plentiful as previous reviews indicated. We could not get wifi in our bedroom.
Review 99:Location with exclusive shops and restaurants close by. Room tastefully decorated and full of character.
Review 100:access to car park is very tight, so bring a small car and not the roller. old houses also have low beams, which isn't ideal for my 6 foot 2. (these are outside the proprietors control!)
Review 101:easy to drive to from the A46. on site parking. character house built between 1213 and 1220. very close to cathedral and castle. modern bathroom, spotlessly clean. very helpful and welcoming proprietor and staff. nice breakfast room and breakfast. lots of eating places within easy walking distance. Lincoln is well worth visiting--we particularly enjoyed the Usher collection and museum. would go back very happily
Review 102:being a mature couple we felt that there should have been grab rails in the shower, it was quite slippery and great care had to be taken. Apart from that everything was fine.
Review 103:the staff were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very nice, and the whole place was very comfortable.
Review 104:Nothing really but some advice for others. It is a very old building which has retained its quirkiness and stairs. If that's a problem then ask for a ground floor room and not a lift!
Review 105:We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful owner - Paul, who made sure we knew about the city and what it had to offer as well as the features of the guest house. All the staff we met were very friendly and they made our stay a pleasure. The room was a good size and we could see the top of the cathedral. The guest house was well decorated and spotless and though we partly chose it for the free wifi, we were far to busy enjoying Lincoln to use it. Sausages were yummy :)
Review 106:Could not find any real fault, everything was excellent. Room was comfortable & clean, only slight drawback - the shower room was a bit on the small size, a bit awkward to get to and use the wash basin if you didn't want to have a shower.
Review 107:The guest house was clean and comfortable and in an ideal location. Tracey and Paul were both great hosts and Tracey makes an excellent cooked breakfast.
Review 108:This isn't a dislike just an observation room no 3 could do with a little update on the décor so it is in line with other rooms on the website.
Review 109:We enjoyed our stay immensely. Staff very welcoming and helpful, especially when we got a little lost, we had our own personal satnav via the telephone! Thank you for that. We will definitely stay again.
Review 110:Shower not very hot
Review 111:Warm and friendly guest house. Good size bedroom with ensuite wet room. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Parking is a bonus. Location is excellent. Free wifi but not in our room, used the lounge area though.
Review 112:No negatives
Review 113:*excellent location, practically next door to cathedral and castle *staff very helpful and accommodating *very clean *room comfortable and good size *very nice breakfast *parking at the back of property *modern bathroom with powerful shower *we stayed in December and room was plenty warm enough
Review 114:Nothing. Any criticism would be petty.
Review 115:When we finally made our way there we were delighted at the location. There are lovely pubs, restaurants and independent boutiques on the doorstep. Our car didn't move all weekend. Breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked. We loved the character of the building and our cosy, comfortable room.
Review 116:Paul the owner was very friendly and helpful. Nothing was to much trouble for him. Superb home cooked breakfast. Good location. I would defiantly return.
Review 117:Welcome was very personal and professional; bathroom was perfectly appointed - and beautifully warm! The breakfast was wonderful, with an amazing choice. They were even kind when I disovered I'd gone off with the room key!
Review 118:The location was excellent. The welcome and service was also excellent and very friendly. The building had a wonderful sense of history and the room was really comfortable and beautifully put together.
Review 119:Only thing i didn't like was the parking .but what do u expect . when this place was built there were no cars .the owner would get anyones car out for them so no problem at all .
Review 120:I took my granddaughter . for a one night stay and we had a lovely time .great location . large room so much space .everything u need is at your door step .perfect location . would go back again for the Christmas market
Review 121:Breakfast was disappointing for a 7 room B and B although, to be fair, the smoked haddock was great. The only fruit on day one was 2 green bananas and on day 2 (having asked for fruit) there was the addition of an apple! Smaller B and Bs have a choice of fresh fruit, often including a few summer fruits, melon, pineapple etc. Not difficult to organise and this would have made breakfast a more enjoyable occasion and our rating 10/10. Also, TV in the breakfast room was not necessary (we felt) and unfortunately there was one extremely annoying woman who, although she came with her partner, spent the whole of breakfast (loudly) on her mobile phone. Very annoying, although I don't know how a B and B owner can tactfully deal with it….maybe a polite notice on the door….?
Review 122:The lovely old building, steeped in history on 'Steep Hill'! The very friendly and helpful staff.
