Reviews for Rossmore Hotel

Review 1:Wasn't impressed that it was 10:50 am and one of the staff banging on our door seeing as it's an hour and 10 minutes before we have to check out.

Review 2:To be able to relax

Review 3:The 2 guys who were in the reception in the evening didn't know how to switch the warm shower on, so we took very cold shower, and we asked them to turn on the radiator, but they didn't show up.

Review 4:The woman who was in the reception in the morning was great! Transport by the door.

Review 5:The rooms was tooo hot and the shower was not that power full when taken a shower it was no hot water and when it was it way to hot. The showers had no power hardly any water came out from them.

Review 6:Great location and loved the free parking that comes with the hotel can't fault that. Easy access to west end and Stratford

Review 7:Uncontrolable heating making rooms unbearable hot Sewerage smell from bathroom Basin dirty no temperature control on shower fire doors wedged open with Fife extinguishers windows opening fully on top floor with children in room people smoking in rooms Shall I go on !Complained and had lovely e mail from manager but no mention of compensation.

Review 8:Location good

Review 9:1. INTERNET WIFI TRIPPING-OFF OCCASIONALLY. 2. BREAKFAST IS VERY DRY. LIMITED VARIETIES. NO YOUGHURT, NO CROISSANT, NO PANCAKE e.t.c. 3. SMALL FRIDGE NOT AVAILABLE IN A DOUBLE BED ROOM.

Review 10:FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT

Review 11:Bad internet connection. Not comfortable bed. Very noisy. Bathroom in not good condition. Leaking shower. Lose toilet cover.

Review 12:Good breakfast. Enought parking place. Not bad area.

Review 13:We thought it was a hotel well it was but didn't stay in the hotel we got taken to the next street where there was a bedsit very basic be careful if u stay here

Review 14:Bed was comfey

Review 15:concierge did not want to help with anything and said anything to get you away, asked for a tv control and he said he will get someone to bring it to me, ring him 30 minutes later and he said he had not forgot about me and that they are getting another tv control from "another branch" waited another hour to ring again for them to say just go to the desk and collect it. asked the concierge where i could buy a drink and he told me the bar, he left me there for 20 minutes with no service for him to turn up as the bar man.

Review 16:Dryer in bathroom diddnt work, heating wasnt always on.

Review 17:Stayed there because of work travel so it was near to station and shops, bed was fine, clean and basic.

Review 18:The staff would not allow my 2 brothers into my triple room because he said it was hotel policy. I mean what kind of hotel doesnt allow 3 people into a triple room after i have paid for the room, i was outraged. The heater didnt have a knob so it went on and off as it pleased, i woke up ill. The water coming out the shower was terribly weak, it was basically leaking out. The bar was never open and when it was the staff wouldnt allow me to take my drink to my room. Honestly, the staff didnt make me feel like they valued my custom at all.

Review 19:The price was reasonable

Review 20:The staff were warm and friendly and informative. I felt that the complimentary breakfast was a lovely touch, and great value for money. The room was cosy and tidy and stylish. The bathroom was also clean. We are a young couple of newly weds and Me and my Husband don't have much money! This was a lovely part of celebrating his birthday I had informed the staff of the occasion and they were very kind to us!

Review 21:Staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are clean, breakfast is great, free car park and bus stops right outside with 5 minute ride to tube. Have stayed 3 times.

Review 22:The sink for washing just above the bed, buzzing extractor fan, no secrecy when bathing , receptionists not kind. We were late for breakfast for just 20 minutes and no sympathy was shown to us and we were without breakfast

Review 23:Nothing really

Review 24:Service was not so great, slow check-in, old buidling so you could hear surrounding rooms and hallway movement as if it was in your own room. Breakfast was scarce with not many options specially for non-meat eaters.

Review 25:Available for a good rate during the WTM. However the location is far from the city but close to a tube & train station.

Review 26:Restaurant was very small Shared bathroom is simply terrible, toilets never flush and water temperature was 50/50 in the shower

Review 27:Breakfast was very nice Location is amazing, and very nice Park right next door

Review 28:Breakfast finished too quickly so we missed it. Breakfast should start later on the weekends as most people would be waking up late.

Review 29:Considering the price the overall experience was okay for the amount we paid

Review 30:The kitchen staff were curt in their responses and could be more polite. The breakfast hours should be extended to 10am especially for holiday makers. They should provide bathroom mats in the bathrooms so bathroom floors can be kept dry after use.

Review 31:The cleanliness and the fact that they have just changed the rug in the building. The beds are fairly comfortable and the location is within two minute walk from the bus stop

Review 32:shower leaked onto the floor from all around it, creating a pool constantly. Kettle had to stay on the carpet in the corner of the room.

Review 33:Lots of room and plenty storage and windows.

Review 34:Perfect location between Gant's Hill and Ilford within walking distance of amenities/facilities and stations at both. Has been nicely refurbed since last I stayed. Helpful staff, great breakfast if you like fry ups.

Review 35:I know I chose a basic bedroom but a small, simple chair in the room would have been a good idea . I could not empty the wash basin - the mechanism seemed broken. These are observations - not complaints.

Review 36:Cleanliness. Dining room and breakfast. Improved decor.

Review 37:Dirty room - broken toilet seat and broken shower no toiletries - carpet badly stained and there was mould growing up the wall in the bathrooom

Review 38:car park facilities and breakfast edible

Review 39:In one of our rooms the plug sockets didn't work which was pretty dangerous. we found someone's dirty ear plug in our room (not ours), & the shower was unpredictable temperature!

Review 40:Staff were helpful

Review 41:1. The Beds are very NARROW

Review 42:1. The Location - good, Internet access, Breakfast to start off the day 2. The Environment - Quiet and not Crowded 3. Walking Distances to Two Train Platforms, Nearness to Bus Stops that could take one any area in the City

Review 43:Room was very small with nowhere to sit except on the bed. Only one teabag was given! How mean is that!

Review 44:The hotel was near where I needed to be next day and opposite a public park.

Review 45:Guessed smoked drugs in room No double glazing When you sleep on ground floor you can hear all guess outside late smoking talking and giggle at all hours Manager rude

Review 46:I like that we could check in at 12 The location across from the park

Review 47:just the location and breakfast

Review 48:the location of the hotel wasn't bad at all. Breakfast was also good, but there was no hot water, therefore I had to wait for minutes before I was given a different bathroom by one of the room attendants. I think this is not very professional, and lack of service quality.

Review 49:Our room was a couple of hundred yards from the main hotel. The room was cold and there was no way of heating it, unlucky it was the first cold night of the 'summer' but it still shouldn't have been like that.

Review 50:Breakfast was excellent. Nice park opposite. Comfy bed. Available parking spaces.

Review 51:Far from tourist areas. Have to make extensive use of public transport. No laundry facility(only an iron available). No airport pickup service. Next to busy road. No dining facilities (except for breakfast). Needs a lot of maintenance (peeling walls, scuffed carpets, etc).

Review 52:Junior suite is spacious with en-suite bathroom. Breakfast is good. Clean room and comfortable bed.

Review 53:Some road noise in road side rooms, and definitely a fair way from London city centre. Not huge gripes though!

Review 54:Beautiful and clean. Comfy beds, 24 hour check in, lovely staff. Felt safe and like a good fresh hotel. Very convenient to the buses and trains in area.

Review 55:Heater not working. Breakfast was too British. No intercom telephone in hotel. Bath too narrow.

Review 56:Hotel Location close to Valentine park make it very attractive for vacation. High quality wifi was ery good for online studies.

Review 57:We spent two days in this hotel. We already noticed a wet stain on the left wall as we got the room. But we were tyred and happy to lay down on the bed. As we came back late on the second night after a extended tour through London we ha a bad surprise. The whole afternoon it was rainy this day. There was fresh water rinsing along the wall and the bedlinen was already wet at one point. We have made photos to document this next morning in a complaint. After discussion the hotel manager promised to pay a refund of 55 sterling. Until now and after a e-mail reminder we haven´t got any refund.

Review 58:The breakfest was okay. Ilford is a nice place to visit London.

Review 59:Broken window latch. Smelly bathroom. Only stay as its close to my in-laws and the nights i stay usually cost £50 or less. No way is it worth anymore to pay than this. In desperate need of redecoration. Maintenance work was going on during my stay had to walk over workmen's work. Very dusty.

Review 60:Good Location.

Review 61:There were some problems with sockets in the room. We received a kettle which was left for us on the table, but the cable was too short, so we were unable to plug it in. Thus, we had to use it on the floor. Also, there was no socket in the bathroom, which can be uncomfortable for ladies. Also, there was no fridge available to customers. The hotel would benefit from letting the visitors use a fridge (e.g. one fridge for several rooms). The hotel was located a 15 minutes walk from the tube station.

Review 62:The greatest advantage of the hotel were the breakfasts (full English breakfast, buffet). The hotel was clean and tidy, and the sales associates were friendly and helpful. The WiFi worked fine.

Review 63:Terrible room dirty carpet electric switch is by the headboard pushchair pram everything in your way I will never never stay at this hotel again not even though it's free. TO use the shower room you have to go upstairs my room is on the ground floor I have to go to TOP floors to have a shower I will be seeking to get my money back was disgusting terrible please

Review 64:Nothing about this hotel is good they need to close it down refurbish and rent it to the public

Review 65:There needed to be a toilet brush. Also the heating made the room too hot. And the fan in the bathroom didn't work that could have stopped it being too hot.

Review 66:The staff were very polite and comforting. Nice breakfast.

Review 67:Very friendly and helpful staff. We have got one of the best rooms! The sound proof walls was very good thing. Great location next to park and options to travel by public transport.

Review 68:Bad smell in bathroom (blocked drains or something..). Noisy neighbours was keep on banging the door till late and from early morning again..

Review 69:TV with lots of channels. Free fast Wifi

Review 70:The shared bathroom is a joke, not enough toilet paper like there are giving you the drips. If you are not a regular stayer they give you the worst room, which I got by the way and it's not among the hotel photos; a loft where I had to bend my neck sideways to walk, same thing with the toilet you can't stand up straight.

Review 71:I only liked the breakfast

Review 72:The whole hotel is hot and unkept.

Review 73:Nothing about the hotel makes sense. The environment is poor and and very old carpet. should be downgraded to a Zero star hotel. Almost asked for my money back but told not possible.

Review 74:The room. Was too hot and stuffy. The shower toilet and sink are all over the room. Not a normal bathroom like most hotels. Didn't feel safe as someone tried to open my door in the night. And a lot of shouts my from outside.

Review 75:The free wifi

Review 76:Most Pathetic staff I have ever seen. 26th Juy, 2015..Sunday morning at 10:30 am a lady from the reception came to my room and started banging my door, I was sleeping as I came to hotel late night after having 15 hours flight, I woke up and asked her as to why is she doing so, she replied that only 30 mins are left in check out, either i pay her GBP 10 to stay for another hour or she will charge complete day.. I paid her GBP 10 and check out within an hour time, I will never forget their unprofessional behavior. Will never stay in this hotel again...:(

Review 77:Only Location,,

Review 78:I stayed in room 49 the heater was on full I asked for it to be turned off. It came on again meaning I couldn't sleep it was like a sauna

Review 79:The breakfast is very good

Review 80:There was only 1 plug socket in a TRIPLE room which one was used for TV, nail sticking out of bed which resulting in a rip in leggings and graze to the leg, blood stains inside curtain, no management around to complain, mould in shower, poor service, and poor payment ( no receipt given or asked how I would like to pay)

Review 81:In all honesty only thing I liked was the bed-

Review 82:The main hotel looked nice. The front door to the annex in which we stayed left a big gap when locked, there was a lot of noise from the street along with other residents, and the shower was poor.

Review 83:Great staff and 24 hour service. Very nice breakfast. The main building looked nice.

Review 84:got back to hotel at 1am could not get in tried ringing no reply another guest had to prise the door open to get in it was a terrible situation with a young family

Review 85:breakfast was very good

Review 86:* Toilet not very clean * when having shower no where to put the soap, you just need to old it until yoy finish * while sleeping during the day, the room was too hot, i have asked for a fan, thanks because i had one but very dury (dust) all around also the plug not very safe to use as it broken and dangerous to use.

Review 87:As normal

Review 88:The room was warm but the window was open, I guess this isn't the hotels fault.

Review 89:Breakfast was great. Fir Allanton hotel I found it very good value for money. Suited me as a single traveler as I bought a single room.

Review 90:Shower not working properly too hot are to cold almost got scolded In the on suit had to use shared bathroom shower and very noisey occupants in room next door till 3:30 am

Review 91:Staff was very good and helpfull Facilities were ok breakfast was good

Review 92:I was initially lodged in the annexe down the road and there was no Wi-Fi or TV reception. Not satisfied with initial explanation it would be fixed the next day. It was not. Nor the next. Transferred to main building after 2 days inconvenience. Did they really have to serve tinned mushrooms and tinned tomatoes? Delete one and serve the real thing please. At no further cost there could have been brown bread as an option. The lounge chairs looked really old and tired - oily patches.

Review 93:Suitable location

Review 94:There appears to be a group of young, single men staying there. They were knocking on doors, slamming doors and talking in a group in the hallway until after 1am. Even when I was leaving at 3.30am there was still a group of 6 men in the hall talking outside a room. It was discomforting.

Review 95:The location is good.

Review 96:Everything - smelly noisy room, poor lighting, only 1 powerpoint to charge phone or boil the kettle on the floor, single glass windows that don't close, banging doors in hallway - poor insulation, renovations done by "dodgy brothers" using what looks like seconds

Review 97:Nothing besides convenient location - 10 minute walk to train. The best thing about this hotel was leaving it after 3 nigjts of putting up with it.

Review 98:We were allocated room 46, the room itself is great for a hobbit couple,I'm only 5"4 and had to duck at the low ceilings, the windowswere a disgrace the bedroom one had no handle to close the window so hadto deal with cold and street noise, the bathroom window had a huge crackin the glass. The shower was a nice temperature but I've had heavierrain fall, only 1 towel each and no shower mat, shower itself is veryslippy and then to step out onto tiled flooring was a danger also thereis no where to hang wet towels. The bed was comfy but only 1 pillow eachso woke up with stiff neck, walls are very thin and can hear peoplemoving around, flushing the chain, even snoring! The stairs leading tothe rooms are very unsteady under the feet and feel like they are heldtogether by the hideous red carpet. The wifi was a nice surprise albeita very slow surprise. The breakfast was ok but the staff are so rudethey didn't greet us or tell us where to find things, but theygreeted foreign guests! At some point during the day our room wascleaned and towels changed I think this should be optional we onlystayed for two nights and made the bed ourselves so don't see thepoint in this at all, not when the rest of the hotel is so shoddy. Uponcheckout the receptionist gave us our deposit back and walked off, didn't wish us a safe trip or thank us for staying!!! I will not bestaying here again

Review 99:We were in the annexe, no chain on bedroom door, no bedside lamp, no telephone, no bathmat, no towel rail or surface to put clothes and no hairdryer. There was an old stained chair in the corner of the room.

Review 100:The beds were very comfortable, it was quiet and the bed linen and towels were clean.

Review 101:I saw two mouses running in the room at two different occasions over one night.

Review 102:The guy at reception was a true gentleman and really professional the reason I didn't make an issue of the below comment.

Review 103:Basic

Review 104:staff very friendly even ordered food for us and brought it to our room. Rooms was basic but clean. Full English breakfast was very good. Would recommend

Review 105:Stay of 4 days. Noisy. Borrowed hair dryer and iron first eve. Iron burnt, hairdryer wrong plug. 2nd day, changed hair dryer which was faulty. Not good value. Got a late cheaper deal not good value,

Review 106:Bed made and changed daily but facilities could be cleaner.

Review 107:Low ceiling in the top floor, small rooms, no air-conditioning.

Review 108:There was very accommodating receptionist who helped us a lot (with everything we needed during our stay and when we had problem with taxi service to the airport in the night). Very good accessibility from the down town (30 minutes by central underground and short walk or 3 stations by bus), silent place, park with foxes across street).

Review 109:Room was small. A small desk and chair would help to make a stay more pleasant. Ther is a serious problem with the lack of prwessure when flushing toilest which needs to be adressed

Review 110:Staff were friendly and professional. Dining area is good value and Valentines Park over the road is a great view and a restful area

Review 111:Problems with obtaining products at the bar i.e. draught beers/lagers

Review 112:Good, quiet location 8 minutes walk from main rail services to central London.

Review 113:Gaps on doors u can hear everything from opposite room and vice versa, no ironing facility and being put in a room with window opening to staff office and no fresh air coming through and was told it can't be changed unless I upgrade and pay more otherwise check out the next day because my first day payment cannot be refunded.

Review 114:, great location to get links to London transport, good breakfast, bed reasonably comfortable

Review 115:There was nothing we didn't like

Review 116:Hotel staff pleasant and helpful and very friendly.breakfast was second to none we had a great stay will definatly go back again

Review 117:The wardrobe was nosie when opening and closing and it did look like its been there for a long time and needs to be taken out for a new one.The stairs was also nosie but to fix than they had two doors in the room so you can't hear people walking up and down.

Review 118:Firstly lovely staff also attentive and the bathroom was very nice and beds was nicely done too. The small flat screen tv like or just a little bigger than a pc had more channels than I expected which was really good. The wifi was good I was able to do my work and watch a couple of movies to pass the night. The smell of the hotel and the room was desent. I did not get to try out the breakfast so no comment about that. Conner shop was in walking distance and more shops are a few bus stops away or drive for somthing heavier. Overall the hotel was a desent stay and I had a good sleep. Ps make sure you have photo id for them to photo copy for theirrecords and £10 for deposit for room key which they will give bank to you once you check out.

Review 119:Had to walk from hotel to end of road to the annex which looked a bit dodgy, The front door was not very secure, The room locks were poor quality 3 lever deadlocks. The room smelt damp and stale. The furniture was broken with missing drawers, Bathroom door was very difficult to lock, No bedside lamps/switches.

Review 120:Cheap, easy to find, Good breakfast. Beds comfortable and clean. Plenty of parking.

Review 121:Very slow check in. Check out, was informed there is no smoking in therooms. I explained we dont smoke so was not from our room although I wasmade to feel like I was lying about this. My partner and I are nonsmokers. I booked once before planning on arriving at 2am as arrivingfrom Turkey, whilst away my phone broke so as hotel could not contact mythey cancelled my booking on day of arrival, leaving my friend and Iexhaused after long travelling with nowhere to stay at 2.30am!!!!Luckily I knew another hotel (Park) who found us a room.

Review 122:Location.

Review 123:Not enough tables for breakfast, had to carry it through into the bar area as there were no tables or seats and obviously couldn't take it up to our room!

Review 124:-Shower was broken -Toilet was broken & made noise all night -Pillows were like big sand bags -Walls are so thin you can hear what everyone else is doing -constant noise from other 'guests' -kettle didn't work

Review 125:Nothing

Review 126:Breakfast starts too late an finishes too early. Shower didn't work properly. Hotel is noisy, squeaky floors and doors banging. Walls are paper thin. No clean towels supplied daily. Decoration is depressive. Parking is difficult. Front door to building is exhausting to open and would be dangerous in a fire.

Review 127:Leaving.

Review 128:The fact that I was asked for £10 refundable key deposit that was not specified anywhere prior to booking. What if I didn't have it would they chuck me out. No bulb in the bedside lamp reception couldn't help me with this. My double room was small. Hard to get into because small doorway and my door was touching the bed on entrance had to move it abit.

Review 129:The receptionist guy was helpful and came up to my room when the shower did not heat up straight away. My room and bathroom was clean. Breakfast was good different choices cooked or cereal tea coffee and juice. Enjoyed my stay.

Review 130:The room wasn't very nice atall. It also wasn't cleaned very well I had found cigarette ends under the table behind the sink in the bathroom could have been cleaned properly but they didn't take the time to do so.

Review 131:The rooms were so small had to move sideways to get round the room and hallways! Poor dark decor the bed was leaning to the side the carpet was covered in stains and the smell well I can't even describe!! Had to sit sideways on the toilet as couldn't fit my legs in front of me as it was so cramped! Would never go here again it was terrible !!!!

Review 132:No functioning lock on the door. Smelled of damp and the toilet worse. Water pressure in shower so bad I had to kneel to get a dribble out of it. The road was noisy as the windows were single glazed and need replacing. The 'free' wi-if was intermittent. Worst of all I am covered in bites from some sort of infestation. The worst hotel hotel I have stayed in in any country in the world. Seems to be a doss house for road workers and the like.

Review 133:The only thing going for this 'hotel' was the cheap price relative for Lobdon.

Review 134:booked for a hotel room. Was given a room in a terraced house opposite the hotel. Damp smell in room and furniture falling to pieces.

Review 135:proximity to work

Review 136:lounge area no staff not much bar stock. chairs dirty, rubbish left on floor by guest. had to wait 10 minutes for reception guy to come in to serve us. Didn't see a lift, was difficult getting up stairs because of arthritis. only one electric socket in room .

Review 137:quiet room, breakfast excellent.

Review 138:Everything it's not a hotel more like a half way house for vagrants & Eastern Europeans. The shower has no pressure the furniture is very tatty would put my clothes in the wardrobe if u paid me. Sleeping of a night isn't too bad up until bout 4am when locals decide to have a party of sorts all in all not a good place to stay please just go else where.

Review 139:The bed was comfortable that's bout it

Review 140:There was only hot water in the shower at the beggining for like 5 minutes, it was a challenge! Then it was good water for 10 m and again only hot :(

Review 141:Breakfast was superb! Everything so fresh and yam yam!
