Reviews for Innkeeper's Lodge Glasgow, Strathclyde Park

Review 1:Rooms are comfortable and roomy. Quiet albeit on a busy road traffic island. Food at the carvery is excellent. Staff friendly and the hotel is safe for a lone lady traveller.

Review 2:Roadworks at the hotel were a nightmare trying to get to the hotel. BUT hopefully these will be sorted soon

Review 3:Staff were brilliant - servers at the bar and waiter.

Review 4:All Staff were helpful, welcoming and provided good service. Could not fault them. We stayed with two older children in a family room and buffet breakfast included, the cost per head makes this exceptional value for money.

Review 5:The only thing we could say would be no hand rails for getting into bed for disabled room and bed that moved when transfereing made it quite difficult. But staff helped us move to a twin room on second day so bed was able to go against wall which helped with bed moving.

Review 6:Staff were excellent and could not be more helpful. Food was great and great value for money.

Review 7:They are doing roadworks on the actual roundablout outside. They have created a moonscape in the process and it can take an eon to get round the roundabout at peak times.

Review 8:The hotel is handily located at the link road between the M74 and M8. The rooms are a bit dated, but very comfortable and i have no complaints. The pub is good and give you giant size meals at good prices. Pleasant bar staff as well.

Review 9:Only issue, the grouting in the shower was badly discoloured and needs replacing where the tiles meet the shower tray.

Review 10:Easy to find, comfortable, good breakfast.

Review 11:Not bad but just to comment that the continental breakfast could have had more choice. I cant have milk so I have a yoghurt on my cereal which there was none of

Review 12:friendly welcome lovely staff. food in carvery excellent and great value for money

Review 13:Very poor disgustingly dirty. I felt sick when the corner of the duvet came through the cover!! Bathroom and shower were a disgrace. Lucky there was continental breakfast..I was going to pay but it looked horrible! I wouldn't give those sausages to a dog!Come on owners get it fixed so poor and run down. Got to mention the nice man who let us in very very late and helped with our bags.

Review 14:Staff are nice

Review 15:Breakfast! was undercooked & at one point staff were nowhere to be seen. A little heat in the bathroom would have been nice.

Review 16:Carvery was very good & staff very attentive. The rooms were very clean & comfortable

Review 17:Basic facilities, hasn't had investment for a while. Better options are available at the same price locally

Review 18:Check in was quick, and staff polite & helpful

Review 19:No remote for TV, breakfast service is non existent with very abrupt staff - would have enjoyed the cooked breakfast if offered and the continental offering is poor.

Review 20:The room was clean and tidy for the price. 1st time experience of Inn Keepers.

Review 21:Hotel was a bit run down with lamps broken in the rooms, tired looking decor and old mattresses with springs sticking out. Although not the hotel's fault, the worst thing was the drilling from the nearby motorway roadworks starting at 5am which vibrated the whole hotel and woke everyone up.

Review 22:Staff were very friendly and always helpful. Food was very cheap and the inclusive continental breakfast was more than enough.

Review 23:Disabled bedroom not very good. Beds unexceptabled for anyone with serious health problems you don't expect the bed frame to sink to the floor. If I had beed in my wheelchair you would struggle with the toilet as the sink is too close to the toilet.

Review 24:The carvery

Review 25:Very noisy - couldn't say we had a restful night's sleep really. Motorway noise constant all night. Draughty windows and walls very thin

Review 26:Friendly staff in the Toby

Review 27:we booked march /april time for room only at £52 and was told breakfast was an extra £3.99 each, we recommended hotel to friends who booked august / September they paid £54 for room and cooked breakfast included , our room was a little on the unkept side(decoration mainly) and a had either blood or some other kind of brown /red stuff up the walls and skirting boards ,the sink was cracked and dirty and there was black mould in the shower area ,the tv could not be used as the remote would not work the bedding however was spotless. bit disappointing really.

Review 28:location was great staff were excellent (especially Donald) food was also excellent

Review 29:Disappointed to see the mould marks on silicone in shower. Rest of shower was clean. Spoke to duty manager about it and showed him photographs taken. Advised matter was in hand to be addressed however think it had been like that for a while.

Review 30:Location for our requirements. Selection of food. Comfort of rooms and reasonably priced.

Review 31:The toilet and shower room weren't as clean as they should have been especially the shower. There was a lot of mould round the shower it leaked and was very slow to drain which left lots of scum round the edge which nobody attempted to clean even before we arrived. I am not one to complain so I bought spray bleach and cleaned it myself. It was very noisy at night due to roadworks which i realise is not a fault of the hotel.

Review 32:The beds were clean and comfortable and we liked having clean towels every day. Tea and coffee facilities were good. The staff were helpful and friendly in the dining room.

Review 33:Mattresses old and worn, no support. Need replacing There were no warnings that there are major road road works immediately next to the hotel. Noise went on until midnight and could be heard in the room.

Review 34:Friendly staff. Good location.

Review 35:Wifi incredibly complicated to access -O2 Cloud- Detailed instructions should be left in room. Difficult to find via public transport

Review 36:Comfortable room. Friendly staff. Great breakfast

Review 37:Nothing.

Review 38:Super-clean and very comfortable and unlike other "chains" the lighting in the room was excellent. The staff are exceptional. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Review 39:the room (No 18) had a skylight and the blind was high up and difficult to operate safely and also did not blackout the window. Also some background motorway noise but not to bad.

Review 40:nice bedroom, nice restaurant, continental breakfast include in booking was good

Review 41:A great deal of dust and havoc currently being created out side due to road works and restructuring of the A74(M) Junction. Not your fault but perhaps guests should be made aware?

Review 42:Friendly staff, (especially Ben) more often than not greeted with a smile, and happy to pull tables together for our party of 7<8

Review 43:Room was satisfactory although in need of some, minor, basic maintenance ( a couple of the light fittings were coming away from the wall)

Review 44:It is an excellent location being in the Strathclyde Country Park and next to Junction 5 of the M74. The hotel is on the whole well presented and has a Toby Carvery adjoining.

Review 45:As I travelled by bus I had to walk a long distance to get there and inside the country park there were no signs to help orientate.

Review 46:Spacious room Friendly staff Nice pub with good quality food

Review 47:Only had shower, no bath to bathe children,

Review 48:Good sized room, only had shower no bath, nice help yourself continental breakfast, could not get WI-Fi to work, but that's probably just me

Review 49:the rooms were immaculate and the staff were very friendly. Food was served till late , which was a bonus as we had been travelling a fair bit. The family room we had was clean and warm with comfortable beds, great value. We travel to Scotland frequently as my wife has family there and will be sure to stay again soon !!

Review 50:Condition of bathroom not good, toilet seat not fixed properly and shower coming off wall, a lot of black to grouting in shower and grouting dirty on floor, bathroom door had dirty looking runs and corners looked dark, overall bathroom needed revamping. Noise by air conditioning unit all night long preventing a good sleep and mattress very springy and not comfortable.

Review 51:Location was very good, staff friendly and helpful. Reasonably priced cooked breakfast.

Review 52:There was no tv, the beds are horribly uncomfortable and I pray if you travel with a family you are lucky enough to land the romms with the new sofa beds if you don't then God help you if your child is over a meter long they are an absolute discrace and the bathrooms needs a bit of a spruce up

Review 53:Most of the staff were fantastic

Review 54:On our last night the room-cleaning staff only left us one hand-towel (the other nights there were 2 hand towels), and no shower-room mat (other nights we had a mat). I left a note with the manager reporting this, as we didn't want to be accused of stealing the ones we hadn't got! Also, I had to fiddle my Wifi connection, as I live in France but have a UK mobile phone and I had to use the UK postcode we had before we left the UK 10 years ago! The Wifi should be free-acess to everyone, regardless of where they live.

Review 55:Comfortable beds, quiet room, even though it is not far from motorway roadworks! Good breakfasts.

Review 56:The postcode for the property on the website does not work in the sat nav -(ended up on wrong side of motorway) ignore the postcode and follow signs from the motorway for strathclyde country park.

Review 57:Convenient location close to motorway. Great value clean and comfortable accommodation for overnight stay. Good showers. Toby carvery provided reasonable evening meal after a long day driving. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast and service from Donald. Despite location close to motorway and popularity with families with young children the rooms were quiet.

Review 58:Sat Nav had some difficulty finding the location.

Review 59:Breakfast was all you can eat for a very affordable price, and quite tasty. The location was excellent, right inside the park with a lovely play park just down the road for the children to enjoy.

Review 60:The staff were rude and incompetent and tried to move us out of our room after a couple of days. I complained to Head Office and got a poor response. We never had our room serviced properly - took our towels away and never gave us clean ones. Wi-Fi does not work in the room.

Review 61:The location.

Review 62:Beds were the most uncomfortable We had ever slept in. Shower was great, but soaked the carpet outside the toilet every time it was used. When we complained they said , we know everyone complains about it, but nothing gets done. I had a long dress and no place to hang it up, yet their was an appropriate place inside the door not getting used for anything.

Review 63:Staff were excellent, very helpful. Food was good.

Review 64:The beds were horrendous. They were lumpy and I could feel the springs digging into me. Returned back home in pain and suffering a great lack of sleep from the beds

Review 65:Was local to where we needed to be. Location was quite nice

Review 66:There was nothing I didn't like.

Review 67:I liked the warm welcome that was given to us, the bedroom was big for a family of four and the facilities were excellent. I also did not expect the free continental breakfast which was greatly appreciated. Very good value for money. I would stay here again.

Review 68:Free Break fast was pretty dull, were not flexible to allow eggs for extra money. Only if you buy full English breakfast.

Review 69:Excellent accommodation with very helpful staff, good clean location in outskirts of Glasgow, value for money.

Review 70:The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Located away from the hustle and bustle of the city in a beautiful park. M & D's theme park a short walk away again very reasonably priced. Travelled with a 9 and 12 year old they loved it

Review 71:Quite noisy as next to roadworks and extremely busy road.

Review 72:Excellent price for the room and a free continental breakfast. Very good value carvery at the Toby Carvery.

Review 73:Hotel rooms in need of refurb, first thing needed is better quality mattresses. No reception on TV which we were told was being sorted out but was not rectified. On a rainy evening, children were not happy!

Review 74:Helpfulness of staff. Location would normally be good but major roadworks on adjacent road caused noise and delay problems. Obviously not the fault of the hotel but did impact on stay - would think this would be the same in adjacent hotel as well. Breakfast was ok for price paid.

Review 75:The room was comfortable but we were given a twin room rather than a double room and the bedside lamp between the beds was broken. There was no bulb in the lamp and the fitting was broken. It would be been better if the lamp had been removed completely rather than leave a broken lamp in the room.

Review 76:When we arrived in the restaurant for the continental breakfast, the waiter (can't remember his name - maybe Donald) explained where everything was and told us that if there was anything we needed to let him know. He was very friendly and went out of his way for the guests.

Review 77:Noise from nearby roadworks. One of the beds was sloping to the side so that you almost fell out of bed.

Review 78:Continental breakfast was included in the price and cooked breakfast was good value and delicious. Staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome.

Review 79:The bathroom covered in mould, bedroom main light flashing constantly, having to check in at the bar alongside people waiting for their drinks and then having to carry luggage through queue of people lined up at the carvery. Gents toilet in bar/restaurant didn't even have a lock on door also not clean. Carvery food out on display for hours at a time. Wouldn't dream of eating here - ate elsewhere every night! General cleanliness of all areas was very poor. No drawer storage space in rooms, only 4 hangers for two people staying 3 nights. Lack of staff serving behind bar.

Review 80:Room was above a freezer or plant room and there was a constant drone. Supposed to be a free continental breakfast but you had to pay £1.99 for tea or coffee.

Review 81:Poor It was so bad I left early! I will never stay again

Review 82:Loo flush broken and seat not fixed on one side. A known problem with cleaning staff who repaired it for us to use. Reported it to Steve who we are sure will get it permanently fixed.

Review 83:Staff namely, Steve, Kirsty and the weekday breakfast waitress. Excellent approach to customer needs and satisfaction. Prepared to go that extra mile! Very impressed!

Review 84:No bad experience at all

Review 85:Room was clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly. Had a meal at the Toby Carvery which was amazing value for money. No complaints whatsoever

Review 86:The hotel had a bad day when we where here. Internet (And VISA-card machine broke down). The restaurant Toby Carvery (which is good and popular) ran out of food so we where one of few last people that got the left over roast. It´s a bit worn down, but you get what you pay for and I guess most people don´t stay here for many nights or the atmosphere. Only continental breakfast if you don´t pay extra which was okay for us, but if you wan´t cooked breakfast it´s an observandum.

Review 87:It was the closest hotel to M&D Park, be sure to not miss the drive-way (Holiday Inn) or you will be sent on a long roundtrip on the Highway and have to go around the lake at reaaally low speed. It´s a worn down road motel with a good price tag and restaurant. Close to Highyway too (M9?) Kid really Liked the dessert 1.99 pound "build your own ice-cream with much different candy".

Review 88:Just needed a bit more vegetarian options, only had 2 available from the 5/6 on the menu.

Review 89:The hotel is near the lake and other facilties as we were there for british rowing championships being held over the weekend, able to get back and relax before competing.

Review 90:we had a air con or refrigeration unit under our room running all night going off at 6.30 in morn and coming back on at 5ish in the afternoon. We did notify management who seemed uninterested!!!

Review 91:good location

Review 92:Not a bad experience, but I couldn't get the Wi-Fi to work. This may have been my phone, and I'm sure someone would have helped if I'd asked. Also the pillows were very thin and hard - the only criticism I have.

Review 93:I came to watch my sons rowing on the lake, and I absolutely loved the convenience of walking from the hotel. It was beautifully quiet, easy to find, and the room was pretty spacious. I would definitely stay here again!

Review 94:Staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant towards us, especially my 4 year old grandson. Complimentary light breakfast was enough for us, but at £3.99 for an all you can eat cooked breakfast, is great value, and carvery at £5.99 was perfect. Bar prices not bad either.

Review 95:Meal choices for children very poor. We were slightly late for breakfast and I practically had to beg to get cereal for the children. We weren't offered cereal, only today. Sorry but wouldn't stay there again.

Review 96:shower cubicle and tiles were very grubby giving a dirty appearance and décor of room was not clean looking.

Review 97:location, car parking . eating and drinking facilities

Review 98:Reported 4 issues in the room requiring immediate attention within anhour of arrival and nothing done after 5 night stay. Not good. No wifi.Charged for coffee by a member of staff.

Review 99:Comfort ,location ,price.

Review 100:No socket next to the bed Shower could have done with bleaching

Review 101:The bed was super comfy Hotel is nxt to a busy roundabout & motorway but is so peaceful and quiet the tea and coffee were refilled daily Shower was powerful doesn't deserve the 3*'s it deserves 4!

Review 102:There was nothing I didn't like everything was perfect.

Review 103:This place was fantastic to stay at. All staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. A free complimentary breakfast was also included. Will definitely be booking this hotel again.

Review 104:There wasn't anything to dislike on this visit

Review 105:Came up for a wedding excellent facilities carvery next door lovely breakfasts all very well priced.close to motorway. Beautiful scenery with the loch up the road

Review 106:The staff was very friendly I asked for a iron at 10.30 at night and was given one straight away very good service room was clean beds we're comfortable overall all was good breakfast was good Donald who was on the breakfast duty was extremely helpful and very cheerful I would stay there again

Review 107:Very friendly staff.Short taxi ride to Bellshill Railway Station for easy access to Glasgow.Recommend A1 taxis as very reliable and cheaper than others .Rooms comfortable and clean.Near motorway but could not hear traffic in room.Would stay here again.Food good.

Review 108:The inside of the draw wasn't cleaned from previous stay and they did forget the cot, but staff more than made up for it.

Review 109:They really did help and go extra mile, they cleaned Lias bottles, out her special allergy free food in their freezer and fridge for us etc and put a high chair in bedroom for us. Note they could not heat food in their microwave due to health and safety. But it was pre cooked and we put it in a bag and in a bowl of boiling water.

Review 110:There are no bad comments to be made.

Review 111:We were going to the Yorkshire Dales but were unable to leave until after 6pm It was far enough to travel that evening and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Review 112:The main air conditioning units for the kitchen on the flat roof outside window was on all night and kept me awake all night with constant running noise, not good

Review 113:Food

Review 114:It would be good if their was more to do in the park in doors on a cold wet day.

Review 115:Inn keeper room was lovely, clean, easy parking, friendly helpful staff and good food.

Review 116:The rooms were spacious and clean with everything you needed for a short stay. You can have the complimentary breakfast or pay £3.99 for a full cooked breakfast. Would recommend this hotel.

Review 117:The staff couldn't be more helpful, My sisters taxi never turned up and one of the bar staff took her to the train station. Rooms are very clean. And Donald couldn't be more cheerful.

Review 118:My room 11. Lights all worked from one switch so over bright. Walls were patched where plug socket / light switches were removed. Shower curtain smelled a little musty. Found previous guest shower gel in shower and pair of socks on shelf.

Review 119:Price. Rooms large and adequate. Clean and comfortable in general (see what I didn't like comments). Food at the Toby Carvery very good value and of good quality.

Review 120:Nothing

Review 121:Handily placed off the M74 at Strathclyde Park. Good value for money, decent sized room and bed , tv in room , kettle and selection of tea coffee. Breakfast is continental buffet and good selection of cereals croissants, jam , toast , yogurts , breakfast bars , juice tea and coffee. There is an unlimited buffet cooked breakfast which I think cost £4 but we never had this although it looked nice. Also as it adjoins the Toby Carvery its handy if you want a meal later on. Plenty parking outdoors.

Review 122:The outside noise. We had the rattle of an air con unit/fan directly outside the room. Housekeeping were knocking at the door very early despite a Do Not Disturb sign on the handle. Wi-Fi wouldn't connect.

Review 123:Friendly accommodating staff. Location. Nice room. Reasonably priced.

Review 124:The staff are so friendly, can't do enough for you. Karalyn remembered me from my last stay which is nice. The rooms are comfortable and as a women travelling on my own I feel safe.

Review 125:The only negatives i will say is there was no easy way at all to get into Motherwell. The other thing is there was NO drawers or anything to store our clothes, there were four coathangers between us, and we weren't offered a room with a bath instead of a shower even though we had a young child. All very minor things in comparison to the good, just some things to consider in the future.

Review 126:The place was set in the middle of a lovely country park, the room was lovely and clean and had two double beds which was great for us. The breakfast was great and very cheap too and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a lovely family atmosphere that felt comfortable and welcoming.

Review 127:Noisy other guests when returning to the hotel after midnight. Some peeling paint in bathroom could do with a touch up (Room 29) and also bedside light did not work. I had to leave before 6am the following day so did not have time to notify the hotel that the light was not working.

Review 128:Easy to find from the M74, ample free parking available. Staff allowed me to check in early, which was ideal after an early start. Great prices for food and drinks in the adjacent Toby Carvery.

Review 129:The beds were too soft (spongy) as I do prefer a firmer bed.

Review 130:I specifically booked a twin room with disabled access and the facilities provided were exactly what I needed: a ground floor room with a walk-in shower and disabled toilet. The staff were very friendly and accommodated all our special requests.

Review 131:Nothing at all bad to say. Warm, comfortable room, very good facilities.

Review 132:I informed the hotel (via email) I may not be arriving until about 1 00am. When I got there (12 45am)the hotel & Toby Inn were closed. I need not have worried. One of the hotel employees (Steve?) had sat in his car waiting for me after his shift had ended. He called the night porter (Terry?) on his phone to let me in. Excellent service & I was very grateful. Thank you.

Review 133:Only a small Milan would not stop another visit No separate reception, the bar restaurant was very busy, had to leave my partner with our luggage etc outside while I checked in

Review 134:Clean, spacious, just off the motorway Excellent breakfast options, all you can eat for £3.99 or free continental Nice bar, restaurant

Review 135:Huge roadworks on island next to hotel, noisy hgvs at all times of day and night, causing vibrations on walls in room, first room next to noisy air handling units, second room, bed was terrible, springs gone, laid on mattress! Third room ok but walls vibrated due to traffic. Will not be staying again

Review 136:Stayed here many times before, set in Strathclyde country park. Staff friendly and helpful.

Review 137:The fire alarm went off we had to get out of bed and left the building. We waited out side no information from staff telling what was happening, some of the guests were still in the building looking out, some of the guests decided to back in. We stayed out, then we went looking for members of staff, we were then told, they think it was a false alarm.

Review 138:Food was good and plentiful
