Reviews for The Park Royal - QHotels
Review 1:Menu changed loved the vegetarian menu a few months ago so a little disappointed that I couldn't reorder the gorgeous meal I had then
Review 2:Room layout comfort
Review 3:none
Review 4:The location was spot on for our needs during this visit to the area. The breakfast was superb and despite being very busy the staff managed it well. The sports facilities were excellent - even used the tennis court. Did not use hotel restaurant for evening meal as we found some ace place locally. We have and will recommend this and other Q hotels to friends.
Review 5:On the first night there was no plug for the bath.. (is this a third world hotel? I asked) and no hot water anyway. They gave a sophisticated plumbing arrangement which defies anyone to obtain hot hot water! \i was over the club and on the first night there was music until 1am.
Review 6:The room and he bed were the best. I had to 'hunt' for a cup of coffee which I found in a drawer.
Review 7:Noisy toilet seats when opened they bang against toilets or bang when let go to close, use soft closing ones and insulate behind the back of the toilet. Some of the party were stuck in the lift, there seemed no urgency to get them out, staff did not stay to talk to them whilst they were in there, I had to stay with them, when they were released they were told they had overloaded the lift, however the lift held 8 people and thats how many there were in there. Some of my friends suffered severe panic attacks in the lift. Bar prices too expensive
Review 8:Friendly, comfortable, easygoing hotel
Review 9:Conference facilities were not great, no toilets near the meeting room and it cost £125 to hire a projector after already paying £150 for room hire for 5 people.
Review 10:Hotel was good location and good food served in restaurant.
Review 11:Bar prices were a little expensive but that's usual in hotels..
Review 12:The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The dining and bar area where we had our party was perfect for the occasion. The waiting on staff were very efficient and the food was served hot! :)
Review 13:The room was rediculously hot. Even thou I open all the windows and made sure heater was off. There was a pipe that was red hot running across one of the walls. It was unbearable and difficult to sleep.
Review 14:It was old inside and dated and the continuous noise of the generators was horrendous, no idea how anyone can sleep, I didn't. Very very expensive, very very disappointed.
Review 15:I was disappointed and surprised that the rooms did not have air conditioning, we were in one of the rooms with the small window which felt very Coclaustrophobic. Also not sure about dogs in the hotel!!!
Review 16:We have stayed in the hotel on few occasions and always found the staff to be helpful and friendly, great location for us as our family all live reasonably close by
Review 17:Couldn't find fault with anything in the hotel. The most I could say was the leisure facilities got pretty busy with children but there might have been child free times, we didn't check.
Review 18:Absolutely brilliant. Staff were courteous and the room was really lovely. Clean, comfortable, modern and spacious with a fridge, ironing board and hair dryer. Will definitely return when we get chance. Thank you for a fab stay.
Review 19:The "Greek" salad. £14, and nothing like any Greek salad i ever tasted. Apparently the hotel doesn't hold cucumber, olives, olive oil, or vinegar. I returned it but no refund was offered. "all menus are planned centrally and no variation is allowed by this chain" Breakfast was a mess - Sunday morning and tatty tables. All pretty disappointing for what was billed as a 5 star experience.
Review 20:Location - close to M56 and to the event we were taking part in.
Review 21:Happy with most facilities
Review 22:all staff very helpful, one standouting member of staff was RACHELL in the restaurant she was outstanding attentive and pleasento
Review 23:The only negative thing was the beds. Neither my husband nor myself found them particularly comfortable.
Review 24:Everybody was so friendly and did their very best to help us feel welcome and relaxed. On arrival there was a mix up regarding our room , within 10 mins....problem solved. The staff that managed breakfast were top class ! From the manager who remembered that we liked 2 hot chocolates every morning to the friendly female supervisor who washed my children's bibs and joked about me taking time to enjoy my breakfast once the children had left the table. Also the manager in the spa who although we were misinformed about the times children were permitted to use the pool, seeing the children were all dressed and excited , exercised discretion ,as the pool was empty and allowed the children to swim. Your excellent Customer service has truly made our trip!! Thank you
Review 25:Some tables covered with glasses/dishes but it wa busy and soon cleared away. Limited bar menu.
Review 26:Great location, breakfast excellent, pool and leisure facilities great.
Review 27:Bar food is overpriced, and they add a service charge to every bill automatically... And also have a space for you to add a tip as well. I wonder how many people tip twice without knowing?
Review 28:Service during breakfast. Nobody asked me during my breakfast 20 minuts to order cafee or tea. It seems that reservation from booking. com gives you the worsest room Your window is over industrial aircondition, noisy and not nice view. Breakfast veery stadard nothing plus related to price.
Review 29:Location. It should have to be a luxurious hotel.
Review 30:The room we were allocated was termed as a ground floor room where in fact it was down below the ground level and as such we had no view of the pleasant surroundings. The view we had was a solid brick wall some 6 feet from our window. The other problem we had was that we had to climb a set of 15 stairs, and as i suffer from pulmonary fibrosis it was extremely difficult to leave the room,in fact as there was no lift available it was a struggle.
Review 31:Dirty room with ripped curtains. Breakfast of very poor quality and cold. Noisy room and we asked for a quiet room. Our room wasn't serviced! This hotel is very dated and needs an upgrade throughout. We paid £250.50 for two nights at the end of August, we have paid less in London for a clean room with a good breakfast. How this chain was awarded AA stars I will never know. We won't be stopping with them again! We were ripped off!!
Review 32:Comfortable bed and the wifi worked but that was it, other than our stay was awful!
Review 33:Bed was not comfortable, tried to get a taxi to creamfields and advised to get the shuttle bus instead which wasted more time as ended up having to get a taxi eventually once shuttle bus did not show for well over half an hour and there was still a group of people waiting before us to get on it
Review 34:Food was good, hotel was clean, staff very friendly and professional
Review 35:The hotel door was very heavy! Fridge would be useful.
Review 36:Really friendly staff at reception and in the restraint. Breakfast had plenty of choice and was good quality. Bed was very comfy and everywhere was spotless.
Review 37:The Park Royal is always busy during the week. But this does not impinge on our visits. Some areas could do with refurbishment but the room we stayed in had recently been completed
Review 38:Restricted where we could sit for a drink if we had the dog with us at the time
Review 39:Good that we could take the dog with us - and we made use of room service which was excellent
Review 40:Meal in the bar was poor and cold. Standing next to someone at the reception who was paying considerably less than me for a room 2 doors away!
Review 41:Good location clean and comfortable
Review 42:Cleanliness of bedroom corridors was poor and problems with shower in bathroom overalls very pleasant stay at a great location for our needs
Review 43:Bedroom and leisure facilities and good breakfast
Review 44:Gym is great but has no free weights area (actual machines though are fantastic and top end)
Review 45:Well run hotel with everything that the travelling business client would need.
Review 46:They took £100 off my card, when I checked in, even though my room wad already paid for in advance. It has taken days of phoning the hotel and the bank to resolve getting my money back.
Review 47:The gym looked good. The swimming pool worth a visit. Also the Spa was good, had my nails done.
Review 48:The hotel atmosphere was very welcoming. The dining room was very well laid out with a good choice of meals on the evening menu. The breakfast was excellent in terms of quality and choice.
Review 49:being told I would have to pay a lot more for walk in shower for my mother(to be fair I did not request at time of booking but apparently only suites have them?)
Review 50:Lovely spacious room free wi fi large TV beautiful breakfast
Review 51:The "old" wing of the hotel where my room was located is very noisy; I could hear the guest staying in the room above me every time he/she walked around - VERY noisy/creaky floors. I requested a room change but apparently the hotel was fully booked.
Review 52:I feel as though the hotel would benefit from having more choice on the lounge menu. We enjoyed eating in the lounge bar as it was a relaxed atmosphere. However, I feel as though there was not much to choose from.
Review 53:Bar and reception staff were very friendly, the rooms were comfortable and the Spa facilities were great. It was a good location and the breakfast that was included within the price was superb value for money.
Review 54:the courtesy and friendliness of all the staff. especially the reception and restaurant personnel who made us feel very welcome. we would like to thank everyone concerned for making our stay a very comfortable one. keep up the good work and we hope to get another excellent deal from you soon, once again thank you.
Review 55:We took children who wanted to use the pool after tea but only managed twenty minutes as they were told to get out of the pool at seven, didn't see an apparent sign any where to tell us this
Review 56:I booked 2 rooms. One executive with king size bed and large room.Other standard with twin beds.Viewed both rooms and exactly the same.Charged £60.00 more for one than the other Rip off. Will find it hard to visit other hotels in group.
Review 57:Staff very friendly.nice breakfast.Good evening meal.Rooms very clean.
Review 58:Noise all night from adjacent room and no one on reception to take complaint General areas poor and food in bar poor- what we ordered was not delivered
Review 59:Comfy beds and spacious bedrooms
Review 60:Have sent email to hotel regarding bad service, re fridge in room, and awful service and time waiting at dinner in evening, 1st night only 12 dinning in restaurant, I was ignored, second night given wrong meal, had to send my sons main meal back, disgusing service foe a 4 star hotel, should have stayed in a premier inn.
Review 61:quiet room, nice breakfast
Review 62:Although it was busy at breakfast, several items eg bread for toast was only at 1 of the two rather inefficient toasters and the milk container was empty. Both were rectified quickly though
Review 63:Very comfortable with good service. Good food & helpful staff
Review 64:No air conditioning - it was a very hot day (3rd July) so room was hot too. There was only a ceiling fan and windows only opened a couple of inches. This made it difficult to sleep because of the temperature
Review 65:Rooms were comfortable and nicely furnished Breakfast was good with a good selection
Review 66:The beds. Also there was no air conditioning in the bedrooms and at this time of the year it is an essential. For this one reason I would not stay here again in the summer months.
Review 67:Surprisingly good evening meal
Review 68:Very busy hotel but thats only to be expected when staying on a Saturday night! The bar food was a bit out dated in terms of choice but otherwise good.
Review 69:Helpful, happy and polite staff and comfortable clean rooms. The breakfast was also good.
Review 70:Knocking noises all night which kept me awake...I would suggest the noises were coming from the airconditioning plant situated next door to my room - room number 259 Breakfast was quite nice apart from scambled eggs (or should i say scrambled soggy mush) and it took me almost 15 minutes to geta cup of tea at breakfast.
Review 71:Location, friendly staff, ample parking, spacious rooms, overall pretty good experience, value for money
Review 72:The breakfast start time of 07:30 at the weekend was a little too late
Review 73:The staff were great. The room was really lovely and the pool/gym was excellent.
Review 74:The price of the swimming costumes because we forgot ours but that's about it!!
Review 75:I loved the all you can eat breakfast with a wide selection of choice. Really friendly staff and great facilities!!
Review 76:Had to request a refrigerator for the room. Expected this to be standard
Review 77:Friendly staff, comfortable room and excellent gym and pool area. The breakfast facilities are better than superb !
Review 78:The rooms are a bit dated. They could do with a bit of a touch up. The wallpaper was peeling next to the bed which was a bit off putting. We booked a superior room to make the most of our weekend. It was a good size but the view was awful. It looked out onto a sma piece of grass that belonged to the hotel that had massive sheets of wood just thrown out there. It also looked out onto someone else's back garden. A little off putting as the bed was right next to the window so we had the curtains closed all weekend as we felt people would be able to see in. I think if you are paying the extra money for a superior room it would be nice to have a nice view aswell. The room isn't everything
Review 79:location is brilliant. Out the way but not far from Stockton Heath and Warrington where there are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from. The breakfast was good. Good variety of continental and traditional breakfast foods. Rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. Staff friendly on reception and nothing seemed too much trouble for them.
Review 80:All staff extremely friendly, helpful, and efficient. A high quality hotel with excellent facilities and good food. Spotlessly clean with comfortable rooms.
Review 81:Stayed in Room 226 and the wifi was virtually non existent. When booking I would request a room that guaranteed good wifi. Everywhere else in the hotel wifi was very good.
Review 82:Facilities and everything else were superb. Selection and quality of the food combined with the service staff was excellent.
Review 83:I didn't like the view from our room which was a brick wall with about eight air conditioning units facing us!
Review 84:I liked the location of the hotel, facilities, lovely food and the friendly and helpful staff.
Review 85:had to que at breakfast time as the breakfast area was jam packed and an overflow had been created with eating in the bar area
Review 86:The friendly welcoming smile after a long drive and the fast check in, with a no hassle attitude.....breath of fresh air
Review 87:Room was large and we'll set out. Health club was lovely, nice swimming pool and spa facilities. Bar food was fab, really recommend the banana and peanut butter dessert :) Breakfast was quality with plenty of choice.
Review 88:The checking receptionist did not tell me of all the available facilities during checking. So I was not able to use them :(( Also, at one point, I rang the reception from my room several times and no answer
Review 89:nice environment Room service was good English Breakfast was nice Enough free parking Several taxis are available and not too costly Not far from good restaurants and bards
Review 90:The waitress that we had for breakfast was very false and we could tell she really didn't want to be there. My fiancée ordered a pot of tea to which she put one bag in and it was so weak,it was very unpleasant.
Review 91:Great welcome,comfortable room.
Review 92:Water for shower could have been hotter...but I am being picky.
Review 93:We stayed here after a function at the hotel and this is the 2nd time. The BEST breakfast. Great rooms and great leisure facilities .
Review 94:New spa pool a bit small
Review 95:Staff very attentive, receptionist put us in a quieter area of the hotel upon my request - can recommend room 362 if you want quiet time. Staff at breakfast very helpful and provided me with gluten free toast. Spa nice
Review 96:Staff service not the best because there wasn't enough. We stayed because we were attending a wedding nearby and when we got in around 1am one poor girl was managing reception on her own, soley responsible for room service (inc making the food) and other duries. Therefore couldn't get through on the room phone to the point where I had to walk back down to reception to order. We had to wait to be seated for breakfast for a considerable amount of time too again because of lack of staff. Room was extreamly basic for the price. Drink making facilities tucked away in a cupboard that all had to be set up by yourself before you could use. Shower extreamly basic with poor water pressure. Rooms are poorly insulated, we could here everything next door. Good location for motorway and nearby Arley Hall but hotel rooms in need of a refurb, understaffed, and very expensive for what you get.
Review 97:Room was very cold heating was only lukewarm but was on full. Would not pay that kind of money to stay again
Review 98:The room was nice and the cooked breakfast.
Review 99:The room was stiflingly hot, with no way to control the temperature except a ceiling fan. So i had a choice of either heat or a noisy wind!
Review 100:Plenty of parking, good sized room, pleasant communal areas.
Review 101:The reception staff were not helpful at all, they did not make us aware what time tea and breakfast was so we therefore missed breakfast. I thought this was very unprofessional
Review 102:My 84 year old mother would have preferred a walk in shower. Hotel did offer shower facilities in the leisure part so problem was resolved but this additional facility is worth considering for elderly/disabled visitors.
Review 103:Hospitality was excellent
Review 104:I stay at the Park Royal quite regularly and the quality of sleep is a bit of lottery depending upon the location of the room, some of them are so noisy it is impossible to get a reasonable nights sleep.
Review 105:Good location, great and friendly staff and good food.
Review 106:DO NOT agree to have have room 112. It is like a factory unbeneath it. Trucks driving in and out, roll on/ roll of all night, diesel (power) engine turning until 02:00AM. Never had worse room before
Review 107:Bar and restaurants facilities, however rather expensive
Review 108:It was friendly and welcoming hotel, would stay again anytime. The indoor pool area was lovely nice time to relax, staff were helpful and food was lovely. Enjoyable stay!
Review 109:The hotel was brilliant the bar staff were excellent, would like to mention callum who was lovely very chatty always making sure we were alright he is a great member to have on your team.
Review 110:Nothing
Review 111:Nothing was too much for the staff. Very accommodating, cleanliness spot on, food excellent. Rooms excellent and comfy beds. Definatly stay again
Review 112:The tacky Christmas tree in the reception area in September!
Review 113:The pool long enough for lengths. The massive sized room The country location The wonderful pub, the Stretton Fox, for lunch a short walk away down a country road. Great wifi, instant connection.
Review 114:There were clearly functions on at the hotel including a wedding so on arrival we asked if our room would be affected by music. We were told our room was situated away from any noise. This was not the case. The first band/disco finished after midnight and the second sometime later. We were too tired to ask for a quieter room so just waited until the noise finished. This was a pity because otherwise it is a great hotel.
Review 115:Great bed - good night's sleep when music finished. Decent if not sumptuous breakfast.
Review 116:Found it stuffy in room as had to have window closed because I didn't want to listen to traffic roaring past all night. Air con which was a slow fan was insufficient. Went to Holiday Inn following night which was much better and cheaper.
Review 117:Handy situation but very close to motorway so noise an issue. Air con was a feeble fan. Breakfast good, staff nice.
Review 118:Early check out, thin walls
Review 119:The bed was comfy, the pool was nice, the breakfast was tasty, spacious rooms, wifi was great, gym was posh, lots of space for parking
Review 120:The wifi connection kept cutting on and off and the cleaners kept coming into my room even when I said I didn't need it cleaned. I had to ask to have my iPad kept in the safe as I was kind of afraid to leave it in my room when I went out that's the whole point of the sign on the door to request it to be cleaned.
Review 121:I arrived at the Hotel about 2 hours before the check in time and was able to check in. All the staff in the hotel were very helpful and very well presented at all times and when I went to the festival i was able to leave my iPad in the safe in the reception. I will highly recommended this hotel to my friends and family and will defiantly will be staying in the same hotel in the future.
Review 122:If anything (but being really picky!) - ensure changing rooms are cleared regularly e.g. used towels on floor beside overfilled basket
Review 123:Ideal for short stay visiting family, excellent breakfast choices
Review 124:Nothing I liked everything.
Review 125:Loved the location as I was attending a wedding in the church opposite. Also within walking distance to a salon called The Salon to get my hair done morning of the wedding. Food was fine in the bar and breakfast was plentiful. Staff were very friendly polite and professional.
Review 126:Large group of middle aged revellers sat on island outside reception having a picnic, drinking and playing loud music lowered the tone a bit... :) !
Review 127:Location perfect, really comfortable spacious room. Enjoyed the spa facilities. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good food.
Review 128:Outside tables in patio area require renovation. The area could also be smartened by weeding the area and possibly adding some hanging baskets. Staff slow to clear used dishes in dining room. Decent selection at breakfast
Review 129:Staff helpful at reception. Good parking facilities
Review 130:- very warm in the rooms in summer - rooms facing reception can get very loud - the shower in the bathroom had no pressure and water was very hot - location is very remote, only accessible by taxi - breakfast quite modest and ame every day, don't try the coffee!!
Review 131:- big room with all needed services - location nice in the middle of nature - great pool
Review 132:Fire doors wedged up and not correctly maintained Door keys failing at least once a day for each room we booked Slow service in restaurant in the evening
Review 133:The location The leisure facilities Good free WIFI
Review 134:Double bed wasnt big enough for a family of 3
Review 135:Facilities are great
