Reviews for Quality Hotel & Leisure Centre Clonakilty

Review 1:There was a patio area at the rear of the property that had loose rubbish lying around it. Property was overlooked from the rear of the property as well.

Review 2:Accommodation was comfortable and compact, we only needed it for one night so was suitable for the purpose.

Review 3:There were kids running wild around the foyer & corridor at midnight. Really loud. Not sure why this was allowed to go on!! ? Really annoying. Also there was no waiting staff on in the bar area where we and a lot of others were dining. Had to queue at the bar to order. Which isn't ideal if you have small kids. The bar staff are always very pleasant here though. Made up for it.

Review 4:It's a great place for kids. Really clean rooms. Very comfy beds. Great food. Great playroom & outdoor play area. Friendly bar staff & waiting staff.

Review 5:The restaurant was very poor indeed, I ordered steak and was given a normal knife, asked a member of staff to change and he said that was a steak knife, I said no he said yes and then checked with the chef who said it was a steak knife, so not only should he not be cooking food because he,s no good he doesn't even know what a steak knife looks like, very poor indeed. Also there is no section on the website to say there are spa treatments available,I'm a business man and this is poor, lazy and very short sighted, great advantage to the hotel going to waste.

Review 6:The leisure facilities where good.

Review 7:The shower wasn't great - a bit outdated and water pressure was poor. could do with an upgrade

Review 8:very spacious 3 bedroom house with well equipped kitchen - perfect for a family with young children

Review 9:We paid €30 for breakfast. Kids barely ate a rasher. Would like family breakfast deals at €20. We had no choice to stay over storms but would have ventured out if we could

Review 10:Pool great. Lovely coffee shop..kids had a blast. Kids club staff very professional

Review 11:Would've been nice to have been given complimentary swimming caps as I doubt most hotel guests would have them with them.

Review 12:The room was lovely and spacious and the bed very comfortable. Room service was delivered promptly. Reception staff were really helpful and friendly. Pool facilities were great.

Review 13:Babies and small children running around the bar at 11pm when people without kids were trying to have a nice quiet drink. One girl was doing cart wheels in the lobby at 11 and nearly knocked the drinks out of my hand.

Review 14:Very good value for money.staff were lovely.

Review 15:with price paid, it could have included breakfast

Review 16:staff are very friendly and helpful .. weather was fairly bad but plenty to do at hotel with leisure ctr, bar, restaurant and cinema all on site

Review 17:Stayed on the28th Nov for1 night.arrived rd 8 pm n it was a very fast check in. Appartment were really clean. and the receptionist was very nice to order us a taxi with out any hassle even though she seemed busy wit other functions goin on in the hotel. Cinema right nxt door, along with health club n what looks like a kids zone play area from our window of the apt.

Review 18:Very Clean and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was good, everything was supplied. Overall the hotel was a place to relax in, at all the facilities.

Review 19:Booked a room only package through bookings.com which didnt include breakfast. Was asked to pay in full on check in which i did. Shortly after check in i asked the hotel receptionist to include a breakfast with my reservation but he said couldn't as i had already checked in and paid. I was informed the day before when i rang to confirm that i could add a breakfast if i wished. I decided to sort this on arrival. I wasn't prepared to pay €9.95 + €5 for room service so had my breakfast in a coffee shop in the town.

Review 20:The perfect hotel for guests with kids.

Review 21:lots a little bits of maintenance is needed in the rooms, nothing really bad, but needs doing.

Review 22:the swimming pool and gym, the entertainment and the size of the apartment were all excellent

Review 23:Everything location great staff wonderful. Brill place for the kids, fab swimming pool could not find fault with anything. Will be going back again Well done .

Review 24:On the first morning we went to the swimming pool ,our two boys asked to leave as their eyes wer stinging from the chlorine in the pool. They would'nt go to pool again .

Review 25:I liked the facilities ,camps for kids .

Review 26:We regularly visit quality hotel in clon, thought the price increased since last time 198 with no breakfast and no entrance to kids play area?

Review 27:Customer care

Review 28:I don't like that the guests need to pay for the kids play room. Bit much.

Review 29:The staff are amazing here! Front desk could be a little more friendly but everyone else lovely. Facilities are great for kids. Everything you need. Food is very good also.

Review 30:Breakfast a disgrace every hot food greasy deep fried . Egg swimming in grease . Pure grease. Should be grilled food . Scramble egg also needed. A disgrace

Review 31:Clean and comfortable

Review 32:Location,Staff & Value for money were excellent with only a ten minute walk to the town center if so desired but hotel itself has everything required for that rainy day, Pool,Cinema,Restaurant,Bar,Coffee house etc.

Review 33:I thought the beds could be bigger and more comfortable, breakfast was also a big chaotic!

Review 34:Staff were very friendly, good location, good facilities (even though I didn't use them)

Review 35:Only negative comment I can say is breakfast was extremely busy had finished breakfast by time we got tea and toast

Review 36:Lots for kids to do, child friendly hotel! Pirate play shop fabulous for kids my boys loved it!

Review 37:Nothing bad

Review 38:Very enjoyable weekend . Very central to town . Excellent hotel for families as great playground . Restaurant and food excellent . Waitress Fiona couldn't have been nicer .

Review 39:Excellent facilities ie. Leisure centre bar and restaurant a cinema on-site,brilliant for families with young kids, we travelled as a couple and will definitely be back with the kids.

Review 40:Extra cost for breakfast - should be in the price of the room.

Review 41:Rooms were a good size, very comfortable bed (makes a change in my experience!) and the breakfast was great. Would stay again.

Review 42:We were given a room with 4 beds, 3 single & 1 double when we had requested a double room which was a little odd and a bit of a waste. There was a lot of children around aswell which put us off using the pool as it looked a bit loud.

Review 43:Only a few minutes walk away from the town. The staff were lovely and the food in the restaraunt was great.

Review 44:The bar was not being cleaned between customers .the table where we ate had food under it from previous customers . . Felt more like a canteen and the food was very ordinary.

Review 45:The entertainer in the bar was great with the children and they were dancing half the night :)

Review 46:The decor was old and needs to be replaced. the foyer look dirty and furniture wore out. My room was cold the windows were left open and there was a lot of flies in the room and on the curtains. The tea making facilities the spoons and the cups were dirty. In the bathroom the toilet seat was broken. Overall was not a great hotel. would not return.

Review 47:I liked the location of the hotel. I liked the breakfast

Review 48:Excellent for children our baby is only 8 and a half months old she loved the swimming pool the play area and the outside playground! We ate in the bar food was amazing we will be back in the near future

Review 49:The WiFi just wouldn't work for us at all

Review 50:That there was so much facilities there for the children that there was no need to leave the hotel at all

Review 51:we were a couple without children & ended up with a room overlooking the children's play area it was okay because of the time of year but if it had to be a couple of weeks earlier it would have been very noisy

Review 52:staff extremely friendly & helpful

Review 53:We stayed here as part of my hen weekend - we stayed in one of the apartments. They were small but perfect for a short weekend! Central and staff were very lovely and couldn't do enough for us

Review 54:On arrival the reception staff were not overly friendly and where the same on departure. Our room was right next to reception and we were woke by screaming children on the corridor at 8am. I thought the room was quite expensive for what it was and also the fact that there was no breakfast included.

Review 55:Free WiFi which was very good quality.

Review 56:Room was very run down could do with a makeover. Was in an executive suite with torn wallpaper, a hole in the wall nd double bed was very small.

Review 57:Staff were very nice

Review 58:Very noisy hotel. Loud conversation and shouting from both kids and adults in the hallways for several nights. Staff did not care. Crowded and very noisy hotel bar, no alternative within walking distance. Breakfast quality average.

Review 59:Short distances if you want to explore both Cork City and West Cork.

Review 60:food was dire for adults and insulting when it came to the kids food . I would advise people to eat away from the hotel . Pool was dirty and smelled really bad .

Review 61:Beds were nice . dvd player was very handy .

Review 62:Not a lot to do outside the hotel

Review 63:Leisure centre great, staff really friendly, couldn't do enough for kids, the guy that entertained the kids on Sunday night was far better than the guy the following Monday and Tuesday.

Review 64:twice we tried we couldnt get anywhere to eat or sit and have a drink comfortably in the hotel bar and lobby.

Review 65:Friendly staff, ideal location for kids, reasonable.

Review 66:The fridge was not working so our baby's dinners and yogurts and milk went off and depending on staff prices changed in play area and breakfast

Review 67:Had a enjoyable stay overall was clean good for family with small children

Review 68:Nothing!

Review 69:Kids loved summer camp, and we loved that we could slot them in with no difficulty as to when they wanted to go. Within walking distance to town was a huge added bonus for us.

Review 70:I just found the self-catering units so loveless. I was saddened that families were actually holidaying here. No cheer, no thoughtful touches, a weedy square of cement out back.

Review 71:No light in lift had to travel up to room in darkness made staff aware of situation / no soap in bathroom and light not working at bedside locker

Review 72:Nice staff quiet room

Review 73:No hooks for hanging coats. The menu has not changed for several years. No towel rails in bathroom. Pillows a little hard.

Review 74:The friendliness of the staff

Review 75:Room had everything you might need, such as fridge, iron/ironing board, dvd player, pull out clothes line onto bath, tea/coffee facilities, facecloth(which was great). Staff were very friendly and play area for kids looked great

Review 76:---Ignorant staff; especially the ladies on reception and the girl in the Coffee Dock. Every time we asked a question, we were looked at as an inconvenience. It seems like too much effort for these girls to do anything. ---We arrived at 12am on Friday night and our key cards werent working properly ---Sheets on the double bed where ripped open ---Shower didn't work - When I went down the next morning to tell them this; no apology, they said they would fix it - Never did. ---Our room was right beside the front door (208) so we heard every bang of the door when it was closed, kids running around everywhere, late nighters coming in and smokers. ---Walls are paper thin so could hear the room beside us ---Very expensive for a hotel in Clonakity ---On Sunday morning, a young lad knocked on the door at 10am. He asked had we checked out yet; when I said no, he said "oh the system has said you did".... and just stood looking at me. I politely reminded him that check out is at 12pm and I wont be moving until then ---Fridge wasn't working ---Suppose to be "free" Wifi but no wifi at all. Disconnected straight away

Review 77:Nothing

Review 78:Food was only ok. Was great for children's meals but for the parents the choice was limited and of average standard. However, was good value for money.

Review 79:The facilities for families and children were excellent. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Plenty of parking and location is also excellent!

Review 80:The location and facilities are just amazing. The staff could not be more helpful, I would recommend a stay here, also amazing for families with a mixed age of children, there is something for everyone

Review 81:No cooker or hob in apartments so not really suitable for self catering

Review 82:Check in very efficient receptionist very friendly and helpful . Apartment spotless and spacious. Pool and cinema on site so plenty for kids to do

Review 83:Lack of variety on evening menu

Review 84:Good size rooms Large swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam and sauna. Good bar area Comfortable lounge area Children's play area away from main lounge. Good self service breakfast.

Review 85:Bin in our bathroom had not been emptied from the people before us. disgusting.webs on the light fittings and curtins

Review 86:Great pool great for young kids and friendly staff

Review 87:I liked everything about this hotel. Very friendly staff. Bedroom amazingly comfortable. Bed sleep I've had in a long time. Very quiet and dark. Rooms and ensuite spotless. Lots to do for kids and teens. Play room great. Lovely young man working here really friendly & good with kids. Bit surprised that we had to pay for playroom though! Nice cafe near playroom for adults. Dinner in evening was good. A bit expensive but tasty. Bar food was also an option. Breakfast was good but it was very busy so service could have been better. Swimming pool desk area wasn't great and could be tidied up. Pool was enjoyed by all. Overall a lovely place. We will be going back.

Review 88:Checked in, went grand. Got into the room, looked fine, basic but fine. I went into the bathroom only to find the toilet was stinking, foul. but it seemed to go after a while so no big deal. We then went down to the bar where my partner was given a glass which looked like there was vomit on it and when she asked for a clean glass the bar man was less than friendly. I had asked for a vodka and red bull which came to nine euro, which is a ridicules price for one drink and the red bull was not even real red bull, it was cheap lidil energy drink. I got tobacco from the vending machine which written on the box was 4 euro they charged me 5:10 for the box of tobacco. Rip off!!!!!!!!!

Review 89:The bed was very comfortable.

Review 90:Had to change rooms the first day, Unpack, pack ,move and unpack again. We could hear everything in our room from an ajoining room where the door was locked. When I asked to be changed receptionist not a bit considerate or nice about it, no apology we had to move all ourselves.

Review 91:Swimming pool good ,location of hotel great. Breakfast very good. Staff in breakfast room friendly and efficient.

Review 92:service in restaurant was of very poor quality. food was below average and cooked breakfast in the morning was cold.

Review 93:facilities for toddlers/young children were excellent.

Review 94:Inconsistent rules re swimming hats in the pool (just before they sold hats to us!)

Review 95:Enjoyed the pool. Self catering accomm layout works really well for the family

Review 96:The Windows in Apartments very dangerous for kids - really should have locks on them especially when bed under the window making them accessible for kids who love to explore ! More Comfy Chairs for Parents in Jungle Gym

Review 97:Kids just loved the Pirate Playgound & Jungle Gym & Pool was also so child friendly - we will definitely be back,, soon !

Review 98:Stayed here for a wedding that was on in another hotel, came in late and unfortunately sleep in 20 minutes checkout, woke up to a man standing at the bottom of my bed telling me to check out!! Luckily I was fully clothed but it's very inappropriate for a man to enter the room!!! Very very unhappy!!!

Review 99:Service in bar was slow at times, they could do with an extra staff member.

Review 100:Visiting family in Clonakilty was made easy by the location. Staff were friendly and helpful when asked for assistance. Food was very nice.

Review 101:Very old fashioned Bathroom wasn't clean on arrival toilet wasn't flushed from who ever used it last . Crack tiles , hairs in the bath .

Review 102:Price was ok for double room with breakfast 98€ for 2 . Facilities which I didn't get a chance to use looked great especially if traveling with kids.

Review 103:No plug sockets available for kettle or phone charger, small hard beds and old fashioned rooms and lounge

Review 104:Young blonde staff member Sheena was extremely helpful and kind excellent staff member

Review 105:The bathroom in our apartment was not properly cleaned i.e. the toilet. The appearence of the seating area in the leisure centre was very poor. Sofas are in urgent need of replacement as the faux leather is peeling off and looks awful, and the glass wall dividing the pool from reception was filthy. I could barely see my daughter through it.

Review 106:Staff, facilities and location were excellent. I can see why it is known as a family friendly place to stay.

Review 107:Initially my wife and I sent to a room with one skylight, 5 single beds and a pull out soda bed. It was hideous. Room service food the worst I've ever encountered, anywhere, in any country. Cold, hard, not fresh. Really foul.

Review 108:Younger St aff very attentive and helpful. Although one lady when I asked the simple question as to whether breakfast was included in my rate as I couldn't remember, answered by telling me that I was getting a very cheap room rate I was getting on Booking.com. This was the reason I sought the other staff who were excellent.

Review 109:Only thing that I could fault was the cot for my baby. It was a travel cot and he's not used to sleeping in one so next time I'll ask for a propper cot If available.

Review 110:There was loads for kids to do. I have a 6,3,and 8 month old. Older kids cannot wait to go back again!

Review 111:This was our 1st time staying here having it been recommended by friends and it didn't dissapoint! Plenty for the kids to do and be entertained and so close to Inchadoney beach too! Will definitely be going back again!

Review 112:Although clean the hotel is a little tired and worn in terms of interior and furnishings but is reflected in the price and expectations of a family orientated hotel. It didn't take away from our stay. I was a little unhappy that the table we had found in the bar to eat dinner wasn't cleared and cleaned from the last guests despite bringing it to the bar staffs attention. The table was cleared as our food was served and wasn't actually cleaned at all. The outdoor play area was closed for work improvement during our stay, but the weather was abysmal so we didn't actually miss it and plenty indoor activities.

Review 113:Staff welcoming and helpful. Great activity options for children. Excellent breakfast buffet!

Review 114:Merely just a minor observation. The lobby could be freshened up, updated. It looks like it wasn't done in a while.

Review 115:I couldn't fault this hotel. Staff were great. Facilities were excellent for small kids & all on site.

Review 116:We stayed in the apartments. They were cramped and uncomfortable. The only hot water was the electric shower. They were noisy you could hear every word from the adjoining apt.

Review 117:Hotel was easy to find, close to the town of clonakilty. The breakfast was excellent.

Review 118:None whatsoever.

Review 119:We requested a spacious and quiet. We got it all 100%. Great Hotel. Cant wait to go back. Food served in the bar was lovely too. Well done to all involved.

Review 120:Loud noise coming from building works on the hotel grounds started at 9.30 am Saturday morning, right outside our window. We were not advised of works taking place in hotel at time of booking or check in. We informed reception at time of check out, he said he was not aware of building works either!

Review 121:Too much noise from water storage and possible boiler house... woken numerous from the noise, this being drink and a heavy sleeper.

Review 122:Staff were good. Hotel and facilities seemed clean

Review 123:We cannot fault the hotel

Review 124:Close proximity of the pool, kids zone and restaurant to the houses. The availability of boardgames and DVD's from reception was an added bonus!

Review 125:Desk clerk told me leisure centre opened at a particular time and when I went down in the morning discovered it was open earlier which would have suited me better. Suggest they open at the same time each week day morning - this is not the case

Review 126:I needed peace and quiet, some food and leisure centre - all fabulous - great food in bar, porridge for breakfast - perfect!

Review 127:As always this is a fine hotel, it's facilities for kids are great..it's like home from home - this stay was a group of friends after a wedding, it was comfortable, easy going, friendly staff, I love it there!!

Review 128:Unfortunaly the quality can't control the whether, and even at that we had a great time.

Review 129:Good food, reasonable prices, children had a ball never board, happy children happy parents! :)

Review 130:I truly enjoyed the facilities and being able to relax in the hot tub while my son played in the kids zone. We watched a movie, had dinner and enjoyed our two night stay.

Review 131:One thing i would say rooms were so warm at all times maybe put in termistats in each room. Other then that was fantastic

Review 132:Hotel was fab staff were lovely. Very family friendly seen kids of all ages. Love the way everything u need is in the hotel u dont have to leave for anything ☺

Review 133:The bed was the hard and had an awful nights sleep. The walls were paper thin and we were woken up in the mddle of the night by the people in the next room by just talking and early in the morning by kids running up and down the hall outside. 1 night away ruined

The Fine Print

Please note that there is an additional charge for supervised children's activities.
