Reviews for Monravon Guest House
Review 1:Rude woman when we arrived in from late ferry. Eventhough they received my mail saying we'd be in late. Beds and floor very squeaky.
Review 2:Man at breakfast was nice. Lovely powerful shower.
Review 3:No bedside cabinet to rest cup on. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in room. Signs of mould around window. Cold in room in the morning. Continental breakfast was cereal and toast.
Review 4:Bed was clean - well ironed bedding. Proprietor put themselves out to accommodate my late coming on account of late arrival of ferry.
Review 5:Nice friendly couple who own this establishment. Helpful and courtious. Spartan room with 2 trim beds which were very clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this place.
Review 6:We were not told cooked breakfast should be ordered the day day before at a cost. So we only had continental breakfast. Cold face staff.
Review 7:Very comfortable beds!
Review 8:So many rules and instructions and him standing behind us at breakfast as if we were being supervised.
Review 9:The bed was so very comfortable and snuggly. Dogs to say hello to
Review 10:Our plans to get in early went afoul, so didn't get to see much of Holyhead. Getting in late was easy and gracious.
Review 11:Friendly safe feeling about staying there.
Review 12:Shower not hot. Very complicated and no instructions included. Felt hurried to be leaving prior to check out.
Review 13:Location close to ferry dock. Very comfortable beds with cozy coverings. Very clean.
Review 14:The shower had a rubber non slip mat. These cannot be cleaned fully so there is a risk of foot infections which thrive in the warm humid environment. As a result I felt uncomfortable using the shower.
Review 15:Very friendly and convenient for the ferry. Continental breakfast a great idea for those not wanting to wait a long time.
Review 16:Shower was too small as I have a disability and could not get in the shower. We found the beds very uncomfortable
Review 17:Great location and very clean guest house. Owners very nice people.
Review 18:Only two tight car spaces outside of quest house. A little noise from front door when stayed in front room.
Review 19:Good location if need to connect with Dublin Ferry services. Friendly owner.
Review 20:Only thing was check out 10am would of been great a little later as arrived late, but not mager issue understandable.
Review 21:I found this guest house very convenient as was not to far to travel from port it was great as staff let us check in late as had last ferry. Very basic but everything you need and staff friendly on arrival even if late would recommend and use again Many thanks
Review 22:We stayed en route to the ferry port. The welcome was warm, the room comfortable. We were pleased to find the double room had an en suite which wasn't clear from the website. We only had the continental breakfast which is included but have to say the cooked breakfast, which is extra, looked fantastic value
Review 23:We agreed on arrival that our check out time will be at 10.30am as we did check in quite late, @ 2am. I was surprised when 5 minutes to 10 gentelman was banging on our door shouting that we have to check out @ 10. I had opened the door and explained that we agreed with the lady who checked us in to leave guest house a bit later (10.30am), but he was very persistent and kept saying that she should not say it to us and we need to leave the room now. I think staff should solve this kind of problems in between themself, as I found gentelman very rude telling us to leave the hotel right now. Furthermore, nobody came to see us while we were checking out, no good bye, no explanation how they actually charged us. Housekeeper took the key and said that we are free to go, not pleased with that. We won`t book there again.
Review 24:We stayed there only one night and check in quite late. The lady that check us in was really nice. Wi-Fi is in the rooms and bed was really comfortable.
Review 25:Nothing that we can think of.
Review 26:We tend to stay in travelodge type accommodation when travelling, but this B&B has made us rethink. None of the usual clutter that one associates with B&B.
Review 27:Would prefer larger duvet on the double bed then my wife and I wouldn't have to fight over it!
Review 28:Very helpful and obliging friendly staff. Fairly basic but clean and comfortable.
Review 29:we found that when the front door was closed the door to our room rattled ,this was quiet annoying especially when people were coming in late at night.had to wedge the door. may be a good idea to fit a self closer to front door to prevent slamming.
Review 30:A nice clean friendly place in a nice quiet part of town. joan and john were very nice and helpfull.
Review 31:The owners made us very welcome. and the room was the most comfortable we have stayed in. . They did everything they could to make us feel at home. Hope to go back again one day
Review 32:The only thing I could possibly sight is that the en suite was an add on, and a bit tight, but very clean, and completely adequate.
Review 33:John & Joan were very friendly and welcoming, the place was extremely clean and comfortable. The atmosphere is very quaint, and homey. The location is perfect, and you can walk the entire city Centre with ease. Just a lovely holiday.
Review 34:The bathroom was small but we knew that before we booked and it was perfectly adequate.
Review 35:We felt very welcome and although we weren't arriving really late or early it is nice how flexible the owners are with arrival times. Breakfast was lovely, continental breakfast was good quality, fresh, food and we especially appreciated a full pot of tea and pot of coffee each.
Review 36:Breakfast was the only negative. Good choice of cereals, roast and tea or coffee but no cooked breakfast
Review 37:Very near to Ferry port. Very clean and comfortable. Dogs very welcome.
Review 38:Had trouble finding it. Thomas st is the street you follow from town if you are walking.
Review 39:Pretty place run by a sweet couple. Holyhead is very friendly.
Review 40:We used Monravon for an overnight stay, to catch the early Dublin ferry. Great accommodation & breakfast. Handy for a stroll down to the seafront to get an evening meal.
Review 41:This was our first stay but won't be our last. Very clean throughout and welcoming tv lounge. Loved the idea of tea/coffee in the lounge rather than in your room.
Review 42:No tea/coffee facilities in the room. Arrived down for breakfast slightly later than scheduled time. Dining room locked. Was not expecting a breakfast but an offer of a cup of tea/coffee would have been appreciated. Nothing offered although £87 already been deducted from securing credit card although cash was offered before departure.
Review 43:Good location. Clean room.
Review 44:The room was clean and comfortable. and the continental breakfast was good. An ideal place to stay after a long road and ferry journey from Ireland. I will stay there again.
Review 45:Would have liked a double bed.
Review 46:Location perfect for Holyhead boat, phoned in advance to tell them we'd be late and they waited up for us. Very accommodating hosts, very clean rooms. Breakfast was fully operational from 06:30.
Review 47:A bigger TV would have been better as it was extremely small. Apart from this minor detail an excellent experience.
Review 48:Owners very friendly and chatty. Nice sized room and en suite bathroom with good shower.
Review 49:Blinds and around the windows were desperately needing a good clean. As a single traveller, I had to pay the same amount as two people would have done staying for B & B (but I did know that when I booked).
Review 50:Friendly, welcoming host and hostess, good breakfast and, importantly, could stay in the lounge for as long as I wanted to after vacating my room while waiting for the afternoon ferry.
Review 51:Nothing
Review 52:Small friendly clean B&B where we enjoyed a comfortable nights stay before embarking on a cycle tour of North Wales. Owner was accommodating and made us feel welcomed. Value for money compared to other similar guest houses in Holyhead.
Review 53:There is nothing to dislike here.
Review 54:The friendliness and helpfulness of the proprietors. The room was well worth the cost of £50.00. Cleanliness excellent as was the breakfast.
Review 55:Booked a room for 3 but when arrived was told it was a room for 3. Only a continental breakfast served and from 7am so had to skip it to get the early 8am ferry.
Review 56:Location was great and room clean and comfortable.
Review 57:Great location, proper b&b ran by a couple who really know what they're doing and it shows. Spotlessly clean, 2 minutes from the ferry and late night arrival no problem
Review 58:John and Joan were extremely welcoming and accommodating. Very clean and comfortable, good facilities. Good continental breakfast with lots of choice. We needed urgent accommodation on our return journey and John and Joan provided this even though they only had a family room left. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel for a comfortable stay and hospitality. All on suite, showers hot and lovely soft fluffy towels and toiletries.
Review 59:Missed being able to have a coffee when I got up. Coffee facilities were only in the lounge.
Review 60:Lovely comfortable lounge to relax in with a cuppa. A tradition style guest house.
Review 61:It stated parking but when you arrive there is only room for two cars. Plenty of on road parking but I can imagine in the height of the season you will struggle to find a parking space.
Review 62:The room was very pleasant, spotless! The facilities very good and the owners very pleasant, informative and friendly.
Review 63:Shower stall was really small. Other than that, all was great. Continental breakfast was inadequate for our tastes. I regret we didn't order the full breakfast, but the order had to be placed the prior evening, so that was our fault.
Review 64:Had to find a hotel last minute as when we arrived from Dublin via ferry, the rental car desk was closed. Small double room right off the main door. Great as we didn't have to manage the stairs with our luggage. The bed was adequate, but the bedding was great! Soft, cozy down duvet and pillows. Slept great. No noise from the hotel or street.
Review 65:No complaints
