Reviews for The Ambassador Heathrow Hotel
Review 1:The female on staff was great but the male who answered the phone (or not, in this case, called like 4 times) he could be friendlier, more attentive and less arrogant. Bed's weren't all that comfortable. Needed to be dusted. Said there would be an outdoor area with furniture - turned out to be a patio with crappy plastic chairs. hmmm. They said there would be a DVD player but there wasn't.
Review 2:The place looked amazing, had everything we needed.
Review 3:Just a bit farther from Heathrow than I had thought, but a manageable distance. Rooms were a bit on the warm side, but a crack of the window helped.
Review 4:Owner operator extremely helpful and willing to assist with travel planning. Not being an international hotel chain is one reason I chose The Ambassador.
Review 5:Difficult to find at night,(no external lighting). No hot water to the shower at 6 am. only cold. no water at all to the hot side of the basin tap. Unable to shower and a cold water shave does not make for a happy customer, no one about in the morning to complain to. Will not be staying again or recommending.
Review 6:nice room , good location,
Review 7:Somehow hot water supply stopped second night. I struggled to find the reason a while, and then found the boiler under the staircase had been switched off. After switching it back on, hot water was supplied as normal. I cannot say cleaning standard was highest, but it was comfortable enough. Parking can be on-street parking although it is free. The property is basically a luxury apartment for a couple. A small room probably designed as walk-in wardrobe is used as the second bedroom. The space is plenty for four adults, but do not expect privacy in the main bedroom .
Review 8:The apartment is nicely designed and built. We enjoyed the unusual atmosphere. Plenty of space for four adults and a small kid. All necessary appliances were available. A train station, supermarkets, restaurants and shopping centre are just two to three-minute walk away. Easy access to Heathrow Airport by bus. Unlike other apartments I had stayed, staffs cleaned the facility while we were out during the day.
Review 9:It is not an hotel, it is a guest house. "Free public parking" is on-street parking around the corner where ever you can find it. Bed was very rickety.
Review 10:Chat with one of the other guests in the lounge area. Wifi was good.
Review 11:The beds are not full size, more like 3/4. A decent size double would make a lot of difference
Review 12:The staff were lovely and extremely helpful. Breakfast was very good
Review 13:We liked everything. We had no problems.
Review 14:Friendly staff! Ideal location close to train station and on bus route. Superb freshly cooked English breakfast. Clean and cosy. Ideal for visiting London and staying away from the bustle!
Review 15:Our room was so small that there was barely room to get out of bed !No floor space at all. Added to which the subdued lighting was so subdued it was actually dark, and there was no way to make it any lighter. Would have been nice to have had a kettle and complimentary beverages, but I don't think there was anywhere to have put those! The ensuite was also tiny, and we could not find anywhere to switch on the heated towel rail so it was quite chilly. The staff were cheerful and helpful.
Review 16:We liked being able to access the local amenities, shops, restaurants and the railway station, and the fact that we could ,get into central London , and also to Twickenham quickly and easily . We were lucky to find a parking space in a nearby street, but had it been a busier time of year maybe that could have been a problem as the hotel itself has only three designated spaces.
Review 17:Lack of parking. I don't like parking on the main road and I had ticked the option of a parking space for the hotel on the Booking.com website
Review 18:Comfortable and relaxed atmousphere
Review 19:A small bathroom Breakfast between 7.00 and 9.00 This is very early while having holiday:)
Review 20:Very good and friendly people. We were too late for the breakfast and they made especially a fresh and delicious breakfast just for us!
Review 21:Lovely room. Good breakfast. Pleasant ding area with the option to eat outside weather permitting. Close proximity to station - not so close to be affected by noise
Review 22:Excellent example of how an old house can be transformed into a boutique hotel. Small rooms, but well equipped and tastefully decorated / appointed. Breakfast good value. Ideal location for Twickenham stadium
Review 23:None
Review 24:Used as a base to get to see the Rugby at Twickenham. Just one stop down the line very easy. Hotel was great good nights sleep and a nice big breakfast.
Review 25:NICE FRIENDLY STAFF, OWNER HELPFUL AND POLITE. CLEAN ROOMS WITH EVERYTHING WE NEEDED. VERY ACCOMMODATING WITH FRIENDS WHO WANTED TO BOOK IN EARLY. NICE NON CORPERATE HOTEL.
Review 26:The young lady who checked us in, served our meal and breakfast the next day was lovely and extremely polite however was not impressed with the ready meal which was served and charged 9.95 for especially when I could hear the microwave ding in the background. Was not offered a drink with our meal and had to ask for a glass of water. When starters arrived I had literally taken one bite when the mains arrived. I had to make it very clear that we were not ready for the mains - this should have been obvious.
Review 27:I wanted something a little quirkier than the chain hotels and this hotel certainly has great features and is very cosy which is what I wanted.
Review 28:Single room was VERY small & noisy ( facing road) Single bed was appalling - sloped down to the pillow end, sheet didn't fit , uncomfortable Kettle & radio provided but unable to use as no plug visible Lack of parking for more than 4 cars is not good and worse - not clearly indicated on website
Review 29:Manager / housekeeper was very helpful ( breakfast provided at 7am by request) Location was good Shower room and accessories fine Breakfast was nice Lounge/dining room very comfortable
Review 30:only one thing - steep narrow stairs, for us it was OK, but for older people or children it could be a small problem
Review 31:It's a small and comfortable hotel built in a classic english style with a beautiful garden. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The train station is a 5 minute walk away which makes it very easy to get into central London.Very good breakfast.
Review 32:Things missing from apartment that were listed in description, no dvd player, could only watch 3/4 channels on the TV, shower holder broken, broken taps, lack of windows to open as it was so hot in there it got unbearable, it was also quite dusty where it had no been thoroughly cleaned. Tried to pay for apartment for 3 days but couldn't due to broken card machine, owner not being there and leaving a girl in charge who clearly had no idea what was going on.
Review 33:Nice, peaceful area with lots of shops, restaurants etc around.
Review 34:Only issue we had was outside patio not properly cleaned and washing machine door handle was broken so we couldn't use it. Otherwise absolutely brilliant! We were very happy with the apartment it was way better than we had expected.
Review 35:A very nice modern spacious apartment with a lovely lounge and open plan kitchen area. Books to read on the bookshelves, an iron and ironing board, nice outside patio. Very good value so close to London. Convenient for Heathrow airport too. Short walk to train station. Free parking right outside. I would definitely stay there again.
Review 36:Shower head holder broken everything else prefect
Review 37:Stayed in the apartment, everything clean an tidy very high standard, ease of check in, parking, pleasant staff
Review 38:The hotel wasn't easy to find walking from Feltham station (although it is quite close to the station) and the hotel does not offer 24 hour assistance at reception. Despite this the hotel offers excellent value for money and I would recommend it for travellers hoping to stay fairly close to Heathrow airport.
Review 39:The hotel was very close to Heathrow airport and there is a 24 hour bus service to Feltham station.
Review 40:Had to ask for bathmat and also for towels as used ones removed and not replaced on day 2. We saw very few staff and telephone doesn't always get answered. Also 4% credit card charge hidden in the booking process so came as a surprise when we paid, which was on arrival rather than on departure.
Review 41:Light, airy and spacious apartment and very well located within 5 minutes walk of Feltham Station and town centre. Eclectic mix of modern and antique and quirky layout with mezzanine bedrooms, although masses of wasted space. Well equipped and comfortable. Bathroom, cloakroom and kitchen particularly well presented.
Review 42:None what so ever and if back in the area will re-book.
Review 43:The hotel was very easy to find - the staff very friendly and helpful all the time with help ie: directions to various places. Very accommodating. The hotel was very cosy and a warm homely feel.
Review 44:location great for Feltham station to Twickenham and the High Street where there are good selection of restaurants and shops. The Garden Room is bright yellow nicely furnished, very comfortable large double bed, good bed linen and a large walkin shower. Cooked breakfast at 10 pds extra is freshly prepared and very good.
Review 45:It was hard to tell where the hotel was as it looks like a normal house from the outside. However don't let this put you off. The decoration inside is lovely and this boutique hotel has a lot of character. The room was nice and good tv etc. Like the decor in room. Lovely manager and employee.
Review 46:The sound of the shower...overall excellent. Wifi could be stronger however it works well
Review 47:Layout, lounge, bathroom and split areas, close to train and main street
Review 48:Last train coming from London is at 11:30pm. need to take a taxi if you want to get back to the hotel later.
Review 49:nice place. The owner is very friendly and has a done a marvelous job in this small but pleasant hotel. Every room is different but they are relaxing with comfortable beds and bathrooms.
Review 50:Place was closed when we arrive about 12.30. Rang them, there was no onein the property (which is a detached house). Owner said he would ringback, he didn't! We did not get free parking, they only have 4spaces at the front of the house. We had to park in a multi storey carpark down the road. The European girl running the place on her own couldnot get the card machine to work. I had to traipse up and down threeflights of stairs twice trying to accommodate her! Still was not workingwhen we left. They put us in an attic room which was small, butreasonably furnished. However the room temperature was 25c! There was aportable aircon machine taking up a lot of room, but it was not veryefficient and we had to sleep on top of the bed! Very fractious sleep itwas too. It did however fit in well with the ve Day celebrations as thezircon sounded like a flight of Spitfires. Charged over £100 for theprivilege left a sour taste in ones mouth! Will not be staying hereagain, I'm still sweating.
Review 51:Convenient if you are going to Twickenham
Review 52:Nothing
Review 53:Hotel didn't look like much from the outside but those looks were deceiving. We stayed in the apartment and it was Fab. It's Kitchen was well equipped Place was spotless Free Wifi Close to Feltham train station
Review 54:One picture in our bedroom might not be too appropriate for children but we hung it off.
Review 55:Excellent location close to the train-station and shopping/restaurants. A private home turned into a small hotel with a quaint charm. A caring staff and owner makes one's stay comfortable. The bathroom and bedroom are spotless. The carpet has been changed very recently and other improvements are on the way for the entire building as well as for the garden. We've enjoyed the view to the garden and breakfast served in the veranda.
Review 56:Nice to stay in an independent hotel rather than a chain. Comfortable bed, friendly and helpful staff and a lovely freshly cooked breakfast. Quirky and individual.
Review 57:Parking limited to a few cars and a bit difficult to pull out from on a blind corner but would not deter us from staying again.
Review 58:Really excellent breakfast and surprisingly quiet due to its location. Very pretty & cosey inside. Staff very amenable & approachable.
Review 59:The only minor negatives was there was no BBC on the TV? And I couldn't drain the bath of water after a shower for some reason but this wasn't a problem as we were there only one night.
Review 60:lovely quirky contemporary mezzanine apartment in an old school house. Light and airy with a thoughtful mix of contemporary decor with old furniture, that worked well, and a small outside space for drinks or any smokers in your party. good Wifi connection and its free! I only wish I could have stayed longer than one night.
Review 61:Poorly lit bedroom with shabby furniture. Even with all the lights on too dim to read newspaper. Single glazed window meant we could hear all the aircraft noise. Had to rehang curtains. No bath mat.
Review 62:Clean accommodation. Friendly staff.
Review 63:The temperature in the hotel was very uncomfortable. We were in the attic room and yes it was an attic, very small, so small we had lo leave some bags in the car. No hot water I the morning.
Review 64:Great location for Twickenham The Bed was very comfortable Staff were polite and helpful where they could be.
Review 65:Great stay. Film was lovely and clean. Good nights sleep Perfect location for train station to london centre. We loved our stay and cant wait to come back Will matthews
Review 66:Although the trend these days is for dimmed lighting in rooms, our room was a little too dim. Perhaps it is a personal taste thing!
Review 67:Friendly and helpful staff . Close to the railway station. Very good breakfast which filled us up for the day.
Review 68:- The room decorated with the kinky picture from an early XXieth cat-house. Not very suitable for a family room.... - The breakfast : a bit over-priced when you are not on a bacon-eggs & white beans diet. Maybe the owner could consider offering another option/price for those who are just having toasts with margarine-jam & tea/milk, since eggs-bacon-beans require an extra preparation.
Review 69:- The location is very convenient : close to the railway station and close to the shops/restaurants. - The room with a view to the garden was small but nicely equipped and very clean. - Both ladies tending the hotel were attentive to their customers' needs.
Review 70:The occasional noise of the overhead plans up to midnight one night, but then I wasn't used to them.
Review 71:I thought the location was super, able to leave the car outside and use public transport. How quite the street was to get a good nights sleep especially seeing that we were on ground level at the front
Review 72:Very limited parking. Shame no plug sockets near head of bed area. Subdued lighting really nice near bed area, but needs to be brighter near the mirror for doing hair/make up. Seats in longe area looking a little tired, would benefit with newer cushions to sit on, as looked a little saggy.
Review 73:Comfortable bed, nice to have cushions to add decoration. Lovely quiet room. Friendly, accomodating staff. Really lovely breakfast-cooked freshly to order. Much better than the typical buffet style that larger hotels offer. Nice to have fridge. Great to have free Wi Fi in our room. Pretty garden with nice seating area. Very enjoyable overnight stay.
Review 74:bus journey to airport.(but to be fair it was frequent and cheap.) dinner was adequate but not good. Room was quite noisy during the night with traffic noise..
Review 75:Friendly helpful and efficient receptionist. Small single room but had everything I needed in it.
Review 76:A great little hotel, and a really characterful alternative to the often more expensive ‘budget' chain hotels in the Heathrow area. Situated in a residential street with free off-street parking outside (a rarity in London). There’s a nice, candle-lit ‘shabby-chic’ style lounge with a dining/breakfast area, and a garden with lots of cool, contemporary seating. I stayed for one night on business, in a ground floor double room (The Last Post) which was comfortable and quiet. The eclectic decor included a huge, gilt-framed mirror and modern art, with crisp linen and nice cushions and throws on the bed. There’s a decent TV, fridge, radio, hairdryer and speedy free wi-fi (I’m a photographer and managed to upload the day’s work to my client with no fuss). The neat bathroom had decent toiletries and a generously-sized shower. Breakfast was good - individually cooked and included a big cafetiere of fresh coffee. The staff were pleasant and helpful too. Overall a great value stay over!
Review 77:there are no two double rooms, because one of them is open to the living area. the double room has a small bed, better for one than two people, therefore is really unconfortable , you feel all springs what it was a surprise because the other one was really confortable. this apartament is not good if you want privacy
Review 78:a design apartament with all you can need, really beautiful apartment in a quiet location
Review 79:After leaving on way home my partner and I were itching realising we had tiny red spots that itched like mad all over our arms and legs. I think the quality of room was poor for amount we paid.
Review 80:Everything, we stayed in the annex around the corner from the main hotel, in a 2 bedroom appartment. It was superb! An ideal alternative to a hotel at Heathrow. We were disapointed only to have one night there! The breakfast was lovely, as were all the staff.
Review 81:Wifi is free , but some time in top floor it may have some connectivity problem. Also you have to inform before if you are travelling with kids, as kids below 1 year are free and above 1 year they will charge 10 pounds per night per kids.
Review 82:Ambassador hotel was very strategicially located in feltham and just 5 min walk from hotel there is very nice feltham market where you can eat and shop and some ATM,s too.its just 5 min walk to feltham bus stop and railway station and from there via waterloo station you can easily reach central London . I guess feltham to waterloo station distance is 25 min by train. Amabassador hotel is a old English house converted in to a hotel., so usually you will not feel like that you are in hotel. it has very nice garden area. for a week stay it is nice place to stay.
Review 83:rather cold at first but it was supposed to be summer heating was put on for us thank you
Review 84:very helpful and friendly staff allowing us to change room helping us to move thank you all
Review 85:More lighting and shower needed to b better but minor things
Review 86:Small cosy hotel comfortable bed friendly staff unfortunately i was ill and owner very kindly let me stay in the room until my travel party returned later in the afternoon at no extra charge. Also lovely seating area in garden if weather is fine
Review 87:Was not value for money. Shower not fixed properly, shower door unsafe, did not open properly. Electrical leads taped together, only one light worked, kettle lead was a bit short, stair case was uneven to walk on
Review 88:Location, staff were friendly, room was clean
Review 89:Some basic amenities missing eg other similar properties we've stayed at provided drying towels for kitchenette (yes actually do wash dishes)... Proprietor not the friendliest butp sorts a decent cooked breakfast.
Review 90:Facility itself is lovely, quite well appointed.
Review 91:My room was a little small, but adequate for one night for a solo traveller.
Review 92:The friendliness of the staff and the general appointment of the building and facilities. This small hotel was a lovely surprise behind an ordinary facade.
Review 93:Two double beds, would have been better to have twin beds in bedroom. Travelled with two 16 yr olds (unrelated) and a 9 yr old, so had to utilise the living area to gain privacy at bedtime. Would have been much better with a couple of room dividers for the open plan bedroom. On-line description differs somewhat to the actual. No DVD player or computer; Ironing board but no iron! I m sure however that if I had required anything the manager would have obliged.
Review 94:We stayed at the apartment not the Hotel. Spacious accommodation and very light and modern. Integrated Kitchen appliances. The two bathrooms were exceptional, towels supplied and cleaning materials; very comfortable large living area. Proprietor was courteous. Overall we enjoyed our one night stay, Location was a little tricky to find but thanks to mobile phone technology! we got there in the end. Excellent facilities, shops, pubs, good transport links into central London - about 25mins. Took the kids to Thorpe Park, driving time took just over half hour. Would happily stay again, providing they get some room dividers!!
Review 95:Some confusion about where the designated smoking area was, ie., ashtrays in all outdoor areas.
Review 96:Short walk to National Rail station, and bus transportation to Heathrow right outside door.
Review 97:More expensive than last time and with breakfast not included. This lead a big improvement in term of price.
Review 98:Not so close to the center but with the train 30 minutes far in the end. Quiet place, big and clean rooms.
Review 99:We didn't sleep very well as it was very hot during our stay. The ventilation was exceptionally limited with only a couple of windows and a roof hatch that opens in the second bedroom (no air conditioning, which is somewhat standard in many area hotels). Apartment is located next door to a school which became very noisy during the morning drop-off. Only one tiny trash can that we could find. Note: Not an issue for us, but there are a few breakables in the apartment, so you must keep a close eye on small children.
Review 100:Luxury Apartment was spacious and well kept. Plenty of room to spread out. Open floor plan with a loft and lots of nice and practical things. Comfortable beds. Nice neighborhood. Convenient to Heathrow and to the Southwest Train into London Waterloo. Easy parking along the street. All in all a nice place to stay for the money, particularly if the weather is mild.
Review 101:Cold bathroom No heating in daughter's bedroom.
Review 102:Breakfast.
Review 103:friendly staff, very comfortable room, great breakfast.
Review 104:The heating would not turn down, it was too warm
Review 105:It was a very nice room
Review 106:Stear very bad.
Review 107:Excellent room and breakfast
Review 108:Great hotel, very relaxing. Excellent Breakfast
Review 109:Very hot and noisy room
Review 110:Generous, fresh, tasty, excellent breakfast
Review 111:The open plan was great and the noises we make can be heard throughout
Review 112:Just eveything
Review 113:Trouser press not working crack 8n tiled bathroom floor then charged an extra £4 for paying on a visa
Review 114:People was friendy and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfy. Thank you soooo much!!
Review 115:Too many cushions on the bed.
Review 116:Clean and comfortable room. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast.
Review 117:Very helpful night staff Large room Quick transfer
Review 118:staff was rude :(
Review 119:Lack of parking
Review 120:Breakfast
Review 121:Staff
Review 122:Location relative to train station for the Rugby, comfortable bed
Review 123:Near to airport
Review 124:Location for rugby and breakfast
Review 125:Great little Hotel older furniture but nice and homely
Review 126:Great Personal Hotel
Review 127:Very comfortable. The ensuite in the honeymoon room was fantastic
