Reviews for Balyett Bed And Breakfast
Review 1:nothing
Review 2:Very helpful and friendly staff. Fantastic views over the bay. Beautiful large house and private. Comfortable well equipped rooms and attention to detail.
Review 3:It is sad to see how little is done by the (national?) authorities to compensate for the loss of the ferry harbour.
Review 4:A fine place to stay before taking the ferry to Ireland. Good dood available on walking distance.
Review 5:Helpful and welcoming host Pat. We usually stay in hotels and have not used a B&B for years, however if they were of this standard we would consider them more often.
Review 6:Pat & Bill are brilliant hosts looking after us exceptionally well. Very friendly and Pat made a superb breakfast. We all agree that we would stay with Bill & Pat again and highly recommend them
Review 7:Everything was great at the guest house. Lovely and clean, brill breakfast, great sitting room ,friendly and helpful staff, nothing too much trouble.
Review 8:Leaving in the morning.
Review 9:Very friendly and accommodating owners.Beautiful views over the bay and a bedroom that was a delight to sleep in.Gave us the perfect start to our motorcycle tour.Perfect for a visit to the Galloway area.
Review 10:We were on motorbikes and undercover parking was provided as well as a lift into town, very biker friendly. Everything about our stay was exceptional, even the view, and we both thought it probably our best B & B ever
Review 11:Beautiful farm house B&B, just five minutes drive from the port of Cairnryan. Excellent seafood restaurant nearby. Very friendly & very clean, great breakfast. Highly recommended.
Review 12:Lovely comfortable room in a lovely house. Owner very welcoming. Small pleasant touches such as a decanter of sherry in the room.Owner booked a local restaurant for us, otherwise we would not have got a table walking in off the street.
Review 13:From the time we got there to the time we left, we couldn't have been made more welcome. And breakfast was a dream, fresh duck eggs and Even the Haggis which was a first for us, nothing not to like, our room was perfect, and added bonus was a decanter of sherry for a night cap. Delightful place to stay. We are so glad we had booked a room on our return journey.
Review 14:Pat, the proprietor, could not do enough to assist us, even dropping us off in Stranrar to have an evening meal. With stunning views and a substantial breakfast, vegetarian option available, I wholeheartedly recommend Balyett Bed and Breakfast and it is totally motorcycle friendly.
Review 15:Nothing
Review 16:The owners work towards your stay being a.good experience, and nothing is any trouble...their standards are high and they have it all under control.it is immaculate.
Review 17:Delightful amities - heavy glass water glasses, wine glasses, sherry and choclates, cloth napkins! excellent breakfast, quiet site away from road, nice view
Review 18:Short stay but very pleasant and perfect for ferry, kindly had a packed breakfast/brunch made up for us as we were heading off early before breakfast.
Review 19:The room was rather cluttered, hence there was little space to manoeuvre. A desk, or somewhere to set up and use a laptop would have been useful.
Review 20:The hospitality was excellent. The hostess for very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Breakfast was magnificent. Location very close to town and the ferries. There were some lovely architectural features in the house.
Review 21:we didn't find the executive lounge the downstairs rooms had the owners in. the room was not exactly kingsize, the seating area was a single armchair so only for one person.as the owner said the rooms needed updating but it was fine.
Review 22:the accommodation was comfortable and breakfast lovely. the landlady was very friendly.
Review 23:The bed was not hard enough for our taste - sagged, and squeaked.
Review 24:Very friendly and happy hosts; great for the Cairnryan ferry; pleasant views of loch Ryan, and of farmland behind. Excellent breakfast - even the haggis. Fine house; warm.
Review 25:Nothing ! Don't hesitate to book this guest house.
Review 26:Really friendly reception and could not have been more helpful. Great packed breakfast because we were leaving early. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable.

Review 30:Wash basin was outside of the en suite!
Review 31:Comfy room, good quiet position, excellent vegetarian breakfast if requested, warm welcome, complimentary sherry !
Review 32:Pat our hostess was very welcoming. The bedroom was very comfortable. The situation was excellent - far from the main road so no traffic noise. Also her husband provided an impromptu taxi service for us.
Review 33:Big welcome from Pat. She and husband made us feel at home. Room comfy & bed good. Shower hot, breakfast exceptional. Ticked our boxes. Recommendation for dinner was good. Great location for ferry to Ireland
Review 34:When we arrived we were shown a room that we occupied. On checking out the following morning we were accused in a rude and aggressive manner of taking a different room from the one we were shown ( something we would never do).It was obvious that the landlady had put us in the wrong room and was trying to put the blame on us to save face with the guests she should have put in that room. We are both 100% certain we occupied the room we were shown.I would not recommend this property to anyone because of her manner.
Review 35:We booked an ensuite room but it was not what we expected as washbasin was in the bedroom and not the bathroom! If you wanted to use the loo during the night you would need to put on the bedroom light to see to wash your hands! Undoubtedly waking your partner.
Review 36:Excellent breakfast and lovely host.
Review 37:Warm welcome from hostess. Helpful information regarding the facilities and area. Lovely outlook from the room and super selection for breakfast. Will definitely return
Review 38:Nothing.
Review 39:A very warm, friendly welcome. Comfortable, large room with plenty of tea and coffee making supplies. A beautiful view of the Loch with the hills beyond. A generous, well presented and tasty breakfast. Less than 5 minutes drive to the ferry port.
Review 40:It was a bit hard to work out the location of the front of the property - the sign was a little small, and the back entrance was actually easier to access by car. Also the gates to the driveway were rather narrow, requiring care in entering.
Review 41:Friendly landlady. View from our very nice room of the water through one window and a field of corn through the other. A welcoming cup of tea in the residents' sitting room. Handy to the ferries and the town of Stranraer by car.
Review 42:Warm and friendly welcome with offer of fresh milk for a cup of tea despite having all facilities in the room with UHT cartons; excellent breakfast, spacious room with lots of little extra's. Really enjoyed the complimentary sherry and bathrobe. A real find, we will use again if we ever need the ferry to Ireland again.

Review 45:En suite bathroom is a bit small, bit still fine for a night or two.
