Reviews for pentahotel Warrington

Review 1:A bit more expensive than your average hotel chain but you get what you pay for

Review 2:The staff are always very friendly and helpful, bar area is nice and relaxing, food is great but would like more veggie options. The room was adequate, enough space and nice to have a sofa, absolutely love the walk in shower :)

Review 3:Exstorionate prices in the hotel

Review 4:nothing at all for family's ... This is not a family hotel ! Please don't advertise this as one . Even told at reception ' we never really have kids and pets here ' made me feel very uncomfortable .

Review 5:The only complaint was our bedroom was above kitchen area so the fans were very noisy until late at night. Also room was very hot.

Review 6:Hotel on industrial estate, about twenty to thirty minutes from Manchester. Parking £3.00 a day. Hotel clean, staff friendly. Breakfast had good selection. Did not have evening meal so cannot comment. Stayed three nights.

Review 7:The location was in the middle of nowhere, the dining area was open plan with the lounge area.

Review 8:The bar was beautiful, plenty leisure facilities, dinner was cooked well.

Review 9:Very little storage in the room. Had to pay to park our car. Food prices at the hotel very expensive so ate elsewhere including breakfast.

Review 10:Good price modern hotel friendly and helpful staff

Review 11:The rooms were very basic, could do with more luxurious feel

Review 12:The 2 bar staff George and Vito were amazing - so friendly and attentive, really lit the place up. Special thanks for making our stay so welcoming x

Review 13:Nothing at all

Review 14:The bar was lovely, the staff were friendly, the room was beautiful (the bathroom omg) and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful! Will stay again and recommend! Late check out and free WiFi was great too!

Review 15:Since when did a hotel in the middle of a business park, miles outside town charge for parking? The whole restaurant was pre-booked for a coach party and the staff seemed embarrassed that no tables were available for other guests. this hotel needs to get it's act together.

Review 16:Not much

Review 17:food is not great, sent my meal back as it was not fit for purpose. paying for parking for hotel guests is a little unnecessary considering the price of the rooms

Review 18:location is good for the business meeting I had. bed and room both comfortable. breakfast was good.

Review 19:Restaurant staff were very slow, room needed a new (cheap wood laminate) floor, bed was like rock, couch was worn like something from a car boot sale, shower had one nozzle setting, the television was barely operable regardless of staff assistance. Have you guessed my rating was generous and that I will not be coming back? Certainly not value for money.

Review 20:Breakfast

Review 21:Very disappointed with bedroom ... The bed was like a sofa bed .. Little tea and coffee .. No milk had to ask ... The room was way to hot ... Settee in room had seen better days

Review 22:The staff we're fabulous and the bar area was a great place to relax ....

Review 23:Receptionist was trying to put us in a twin room..we r a marroed couple who have a age difference..so dont just presume..we booked a double so we shouldnt of been asked.

Review 24:The room and bar where clean and well presented

Review 25:Tv in bedroom difficult to operate Settee in bedroom was worn on the edges location

Review 26:Comfortable room with choice of pillows Good size bedroom with tea/coffee facitilies and a bottle of water Excellent free Wifi Nice bathroom especially the shower. Very large soft towels and fantastic toileteries Staff were vriendly and efficient Great choice for breakfast Good price £44 p/n room only

Review 27:Worn out couch in the bedroom which spoiled a modern looking room, a few stains on the bed sheets and dust covered the table. Location wise it's a bit far out but if you drive it's only 20 minutes to Manchester. Reception staff could do with cheering up and maybe a smile or two. A bit pricey and that didn't include the £15 they wanted for breakfast

Review 28:Modern room with lots of space. Hotel throughout was mordern and clean. Nice toiletries left and you get a selection of films to watch and music to listen to. £3 to park.

Review 29:£3 to park! And the receptionost forgot to scan our parking ticket into the system. So when we were leaving we could get out and had to go back in! Food is overpriced for what you get.

Review 30:Gorgeous bathrooms and extra touches to the room

Review 31:wifi quality poor, location too remote , not very busy as a result Also I had booked the hotel for the ambiance and the sell of a nice bed. I preferred a double bed but got a call on the morning to say only singles available.. staff not empowered to offer compensation.. price reduction, offer of free breakfast, etc etc ..they offered me a complimentary beer!

Review 32:look and feel , style and ambience

Review 33:The bed was a queen and not a double, also paid £10 extra for comfort seems this doesn't involve any extras? we also had a massive problem with the tv where the control didn't work and two members of staff couldn't solve. Also the food is heavily over priced by £3-£5 per dish it is good food but your paying heavily for it.

Review 34:Facilitators and layout is perfect very clean and fresh and inviting.

Review 35:A modern hotel that successfully combines a cosy bar-lounge-restaurant are with real character. Staff are very friendly and helpful. It is now my regular base when in the area. The hotel is excellently situated for the Birchwood Business Park, and the motorways. But this is a busy area, so allow time for travel, especially into the city!

Review 36:Dinner/Room Service Menu fairly expensive. Is a parking charge (£3) really necessary at weekends ?

Review 37:Room & Hotel Ambience Breakfast deal for myself and my daughter - £11 for both

Review 38:Ellie on reception, was a joy to deal with, from her greeting through dealing with a room swop (dealt with swiftly and with ease) to seeing us leave the following day. Very pleasant and overall a fine experience.

Review 39:laminate flooring in the room - made the room feel colder and wasn't as cosy. We arrived at night and when we got to our room the TV wasn't working properly and the sink in the toilet was blocked, called reception to let them know and they told us they couldn't do anything till tomorrow as the manager wasn't in - I think we should have been offered another room at this point. Next day no one came up to check or ask we had to go back down and tell them to fix the problems , someone then came up and unblocked the sink and fixed the TV. The sink was unblocked however the remote wouldn't connect to the TV, wasn't very happy with that - could have even been offered another room as we were staying three nights. Charged for parking - should be free.

Review 40:My partner and I were on a short break and were in and out of Manchester. The hotel was close to the main motorway which made it easy for us to travel to Manchester and back. The decor of the hotel - quite modern. Enjoyed the pool table.

Review 41:Booked online as standard double, arrived it was twin disabled room!! Smoking room which again was not listed on booking.com, corridor stunk!! Asked to move rooms, no other rooms available On check out I commented that it stated standard double to be told they don't detail specifics so they sell more rooms!! I pointed out that a 'young couple' booking a standard double obviously would not be expecting a twin room and is far from ideal. Coffee training required for staff- don't boil milk!!

Review 42:The bar décor.. That's it!!

Review 43:woken at 5 .30 am by truck unloading - complained and they didnt seem too bothered about it. annoying since I had paid £95 to sleep there!

Review 44:nice bar/ food area

Review 45:We booked this very last minute and didn't arrive until after midnight, but were welcomed very pleasantly by the staff. Followed by a very warm welcome in the bar. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a enjoyable stay.

Review 46:Bed was not very comfy and creeked every time we moved

Review 47:Excellent choice at breakfast although the cooked items looked and tasted like they had been in the warmers a long time. Excellent concept, lovely bar and areas. Great TVs in the rooms

Review 48:Bed was so uncomfortable, given a disabled room with broken tiles on the floor. Bed was 2 inches off the floor loud and creaky, mattress was lumpy and very thin. Walls are ridiculously thin and we got little to no sleep at all. Breakfast was rubbish not worth paying for, half cooked bacon, watery scrambled egg and asking for butter was like an out of the ordinary request. Paying to park in the car park? I doubt very much anybody walked or took public transport to the hotel given its location?

Review 49:Nothing.

Review 50:Room sofa worn to excess. Bathroom door water damage to bottom photos available Breakfast £15! No thanks. Parking £3 for guests. In a business Park near Warrington ridiculous.

Review 51:Nice visually, staff friendly, clean.

Review 52:If I had to be picky the only down side was the bed wasn't very spacious or comfortable but everything else was perfect. Would definitely return here!

Review 53:Hotel was spotless clean, spacious and nicely decorated. Staff were welcoming and very friendly.

Review 54:On arriving there was no clear check in desk. Room ok but has laminate flooring which makes it seem very clinical. I didn't think the room was up to standard for the star rating. I ended up paying over £20 for parking as it wasn't made clear how the car park worked. I went out for dinner and had to pay £9 in parking then when I was leaving I had to pay another £9. On looking at my bill when I got home they had added another fee for resident parking. This is absolutely ridiculous and increased the price of my stay by an unacceptable level. I had stayed in a Hilton a few days before, was cheaper, standard miles apart and had free parking. I wouldn't stay again. Also breakfast cold, items hard as they'd been sat out for so long (this was about 930am) and there was no hot water for tea I wouldn't stay again. I was very disappointed in my stay. I visit Warrington a lot and would've used this as my regular hotel if the standard had been good but I won't stay again due to the above.

Review 55:There wasn't enough shampoo, soap or towels in the room and had to waste time waiting for house keeping to bring some

Review 56:It was a nice warm welcome when we first arrived at reception the staff were really helpful and happy. The seating area behind reception looked really cozy and the lifts were only a few steps away so we didn't have to walk far when our legs were really tired from standing all day

Review 57:I love this hotel..staff are very friendly, rooms are comfortable and clean...love the free wifi and tv facilities they have..and as im a smoker i love how u have a choice for smoking or non smoking room..Excellent!!

Review 58:Incongruous, and antiquated gender stereotypes applied to menu descriptions, and the way the toilets were labelled (men: thinking of football, women: thinking of shopping).

Review 59:Modern, friendly and comfortable. Ideal location for the nearby business park.

Review 60:Disappointed we had to pay £3 for parking. Cost of the breakfast was on the expensive side so we chose to eat elsewhere.

Review 61:Free Wifi, easy check-in process, really large modern TV in the room. Handy location for a stop-off as we travelled from Cornwall up to Scotland.

Review 62:We were looking for a hotel to make an overnight stay on our way back home from Cotswold, and everything considered this looked like a reasonable choice (specially as we made the booking on the morning of our arrival!). The room was clean and as expected. The hotel feels like in the middle of no where (that is, no restaurants or anything nearby) but we knew that already from the previous reviews so were prepared. We thought the breakfast is expensive so opted out. Overall it was a good choice for what we needed.

Review 63:I am dieting so could not justify spending £15 for breakfast just to have a coupe of items. The staff are very efficient but for some reason I was often addressed as "buddy"

Review 64:Very convenient for business. The restaurant is expensive but what I had was good.

Review 65:Value for money was poor - breakfast was extra, parking was extra and wifi was extra. Free wifi was 'unavailable'. Nobody asked whether my stay was satisfactory when I checked out.

Review 66:The location was good for my business visit and most of the staff were friendly.

Review 67:We was in the hotel for 10 minutes on arrival before greeted by any member of staff. Slow service when at the bar 2 members of staff were talking while I was waiting until I had to interrupt them to be served.

Review 68:good decor in the hotel

Review 69:found the labelling of the toilets in bar/restaurant area sexist and off-putting: football for men and shopping for women!!! Especially as I had just been watching the Women's FA Cup on TV

Review 70:clean, comfortable, convenient

Review 71:Bathroom door looks a little tired at the bottom, leather sofa in room looks a little tired as well.

Review 72:Conveniently located off the motorway, friendly staff, clean & spacious room. Room service menu was limited however can order from full menu if you ask. Great facilities, lovely comfy bar area.

Review 73:The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable and you couldn't move a muscle without the bed squeaking

Review 74:The breakfast was wonderful and the staff delightful

Review 75:stayed at this hotel last year and was very impressed and had no hesistation to book again this year . BREAKFAST OUT OF THIS WORLD bucks fizz!!!!!!!

Review 76:On a busy highyway with nothing walking distance. They charged for parking even though you are nowhere near a town. The aircon did not get below 24.5 degrees. Breakfast was 15 pounds.

Review 77:Location was in between Liverpool and Machester, which is great if you are going to both cities. Check in/out was easy and room ready at 11am. Clean and nice big TV, good wifi.

Review 78:the comfort of the beds were not too great and felt like you were sleeping in a travel lodge. the alcohol was rather expensive.

Review 79:the interiors were modern throughout with a great atmosphere. the people and staff were great. pool table and playstation available for entertainment.

Review 80:I would recommend everyone to stay here! Me and my boyfriend stayed here with my 6 month old son. They were very helpful and quick with the travel cot, and brought us blankets for him. Free movies on the tv, and free wifi! The bar downstairs is beautiful and the staff are very friendly!

Review 81:The cocktail prices were too high to charge in a hotel out of London or major city etc. hovever the other drinks were normally priced! The pillows were uncomfortable, but the bed was comfy

Review 82:A great styled hotel with a great bar and lounge area

Review 83:The only dislike was the shower my husband is nearly 6ft and he would of had to bend when taking a shower, couldn't make it higher.

Review 84:Loved the breakfast loads to choose from a*****, the staff are very helpful and friendly couldn't ask for better. Relaxing when your at the bar or sitting area . Would recommend this hotel to friends. Definitely booking again

Review 85:Chris, was wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble and he was informative and kind and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was very nice and as it was all you can eat...I did. Great selection for different tastes. I was just sad I didn't leave enough room for pancakes. This is not a luxury hotel with spa obviously but if you are looking for a good nights sleep, great service and good food then this is what it offers. I was very pleased.

Review 86:Check in was not performed well, resulting in me having to recheck into the hotel when ordering a drink at the bar. The food was disappointing, having stayed at a sister hotel I was expecting better.

Review 87:Cleanliness throughout the hotel and the decoration of the main areas gives the hotel a comfortable relaxed atmosphere. Staff were attentive and provided the hotel with character.

Review 88:The breakfast was expensive. £11 if booked the night before and £15 if on the morning. I didn't have breakfast as I thought it was quite steep.

Review 89:It was clean and welcoming which is what you would expect from a 4* hotel. I paid a lower price which I think was more reasonable than the usual full price which I wouldn't have paid and probably would've been slightly disappointed if I did

Review 90:Horrible budget mattress with dirty duvet. The worst pillow iv slept on so lumpy. Hardly slept a wink

Review 91:Nice lobby bar area Nice Tv Generally clean room

Review 92:Wouldn't say 'bad' but the musak in the bar was irritating especially when trying to have conversation. More significantly, the room - comfortable but spartan (chair and settee poor) ... the bed was poor - low and creaky, pillows lumpy.

Review 93:Cleaning staff, polite and approachable

Review 94:Food menu was limited and overpriced. Nachos blatantly microwaved (came as one large lump stuck together). Fish was tasteless and greasy. Cheeseburger was also flavourless. Alcoholic drinks were also expensive and this hotel obviously caters for the business client claiming on expenses.

Review 95:Superb bar area and relaxed atmosphere, Lovely décor and comfortable leather sofas. Rooms are generously fitted with large flat screen TV, free sky sports and music channels. Very modern bathroom facilities and a great wetroom shower.

Review 96:We stayed twice in the last 2 months and as always the stay was very pleasent and the staff were all very polite, room was really clean bed was very comfy and food was great

Review 97:Staff were abrupt Staff seemed cold and uninterested. Took money without my permission using card I provided on check in and didn't even offer a receipt back.

Review 98:Free movies Wifi Comfortable rooms Spotless

Review 99:Having to check in at the bar is not good as you're fighting against people trying to get served for drinks at the bar! The barman that checked me in was really unhelpful not even telling me where the rooms were. After I asked a got a grumble and then 'yeah yeah yeah just up there mate'.

Review 100:The food was good, although the prawns that were served up to me tasted funky. They did give me free ice cream though which was a plus

Review 101:Good location for weary travellers, just off the motorway. Clean, simple hotel - nothing too flash but a good place to get a good night's sleep.

Review 102:Beds low and uncomfortable. Had arranged with the hotel for one of the booked rooms to be availible for an early check in so guests could shower and change, this did not happen they had to use a bathroom that had not been cleaned although the previous night the hotel was less than half full. Night desk staff slow and also work the bar it seems with no training on how the bartend or fix drinks. Reservation call center inept

Review 103:Rooms are modern well set out . Bar area is a nice place

Review 104:Very poor bed, too small and not that comfortable. Staff were friendly but clueless when it came to ordering drinks. The wine list has dozens of wines listed but only 2 available. Staff said this was due to xmas parties. Utter nonsense. Breakfast quality very poor indeed.

Review 105:the decor of the lounge and bar area, funky and cool

Review 106:as per the booking, breakfast was £15 extra and car parking another £3. Booking.com should stop this practise as it distorts searching for properties and sorting by price. More seriously, the property claims to have wifi but in fact they offer a speed limited service at 256k which takes minutes to load a webpage or email. This falls below a satisfactory quality and is clearly not fit for purpose. Needless to say, a full speed connection can be purchased at another £10.

Review 107:location

Review 108:1. Waited 20mins to get checked in.2. Receptionist could not find my booking. 3. Another 20mins lost ....!!! 4. Room messy bins not cleaned 5. Bathroom not cleaned properly had to flush the toilet grrrrrr 6.tea coffee facilities other side of the room compared to were the bin was and desk no logic. 7. Only one set of towels in the room had to call reception 3 times to get some then got fed up waiting and went to reception to get towels. 8. Small beds and so squeaky cheap to say the least 9. Bar prices more than london hotels. 11. Party in reception bar area so loud and noise for guest staying at the hotel 10. Had to pay to park in the hotel car park outrageous we are staying in bloody Warrington not the city centre of either liverpool or manchester.......!!!!

Review 109:1. Lovely looking hotel for sure.2. Nice bar area 3. Nice big tv in the room 4. That's were all the nice stuff stop .....!!!!

Review 110:drink prices high for a traveller hotel

Review 111:the room and the breakfast which was really unusual for a mid range hotel. fantastic choice and really good quality

Review 112:I used my credit card to pay for the deposit. They promised to refund my money upon check out. They wouldn't give it to me. It is over a month. . As of yet, I am missing hundreds in a deposit. I never used internet or room service.

Review 113:price of food was too expensive. £3.00 to park your car per day. bed was too small for two adults. not enough storage for clothes.

Review 114:comfort, very clean, chilling, free pool, very relaxing.

Review 115:Being charged twice for car park once thru booking.com then hotel despite being shown receipt still took fee from credit card again after we left..pentahotel ignored all emails about this also paid for a king size bed got a double..very disappointing

Review 116:Room shower bathroom accessories bar staff free wifi

Review 117:the location was a bit far out.

Review 118:the decor was amazing, creative and modern. there was a large tv in the room with the latest film, which we thought we would definitely have to pay for but it came free. The final icing was the bed, which was beyond comfortable. the cherry was the cost, we made the booking day before and we got the room for a very reasonable rate, considering it was the weekend.

Review 119:This hotel is ideal for it's location on a business park, but too far and remote from any town for tourist use.

Review 120:Quirky reception area Informak dining room Comfortable bed

Review 121:1/ blocked sink in room 2/ tired décor in rooms(sofa's well worn and curtains dirty) 3/ very small pillows 4/ toe nail clippings on floor beside bed.

Review 122:1/ friendly & helpful staff 2/ good value for money 3/ plenty of choice for breakfast 4/ hotel easy to find 5/ room changed no quibble when sink was found to be blocked.

Review 123:No trouser press

Review 124:Staff helpful, hotel lovely and clean. Bathroom superb. Breakfast time was flexible and food was plentiful. We booked 4 rooms for a family party and we'd book again.

Review 125:The only thing I would say needs improving is the beds. They weren't very comfy way too hard

Review 126:Only stayed for 1 night but my partner and myself loved it. Staff were brilliant the food was excellent. The room was small but suited us as we weren't there for long and was very clean.

Review 127:Nothing

Review 128:Everything was great. I got lost on the way there, and the guy on the other end of the phone was great. He gave me another postal address and I found it. Booked me a taxi and spoke with me until it arrived. The best!!!

Review 129:Location a bit out of the way away from anything but was fab anyway .

Review 130:Lovely relaxed ambience in the bar area. Great food. Good value for money. Staff are always really helpful . Stayed a couple of times now and can highly recommend it .

Review 131:the only thing i would have liked was a larger more comfy bed although it was ok

Review 132:we liked the staff service was excellant decor in hotel trendy clean felt comftable and homely

Review 133:The room was a poor size for a comfort double and the bed was the most uncomfortable thing I've slept in.

Review 134:Modern, comfortable bar area. Food good, especially breakfast.

Review 135:On arrival there is no sign for reception - reception is at the bar. This could be clearer. The room was very basic - no problem for an overnight stay though. That said the hair dryer is fixed to the wall next to the mirror and over the kettle and cups. This means drying your hair , doing make up over the kettle and cups and explains why this area was covered in glitter from a previous resident. If you are visiting for pleasure be aware that this business park is out of town and that taxis need to be booked in advance - we waited for more than an hour on a Saturday evening.

Review 136:The hotel and room were clean. The price was excellent value at £39. The staff were helpful and friendly. The food in the bar and breakfast were good.

Review 137:Restaurant is pricey and there is no swimming pool

Review 138:It was a clean and fresh hotel. The rooms were nice. The shower was excellent. The check in is also unusual and great!
