Reviews for Hostel City Sleep-In
Review 1:The bathroom was tiny... shower/toilet in one and no counter space.
Review 2:The room was nice and although we didn't use it, the courtyard is really cute. The staff was helpful- thanks to them we found a parking garage nearby that's free overnight.
Review 3:Shower room wasn't clean. Unable to have a shower. Pillows too flat.
Review 4:Good wifi, helpful staff and bonus booking through booking.com with free linen and towels.
Review 5:True hostel style, small and colorful. Rooms were compact and walls thin. Beds were slightly uncomfortable. Linen rental quite expensive and breakfast good but expensive. We stayed 1 night and probably would not want to stay longer than that.
Review 6:The kitchen is a bit dirty.there are some dishes just left and not clean.the stove is a bit dirty. I live in a 3person room.the handrail/frame of the upper bed is not fixed on the bed.It is just loosed and be held by the mattress.i think this maybe a little risk for people falling down.
Review 7:Location is good.
Review 8:The refrigerators in the kitchen were so full we could hardly find space for a carton of milk. They need a good cleaning too.
Review 9:We booked a double but got a triple instead. It was spacious and pretty comfortable for a night's stay. The wifi worked well. The staff were excellent and very helpful.
Review 10:7am road drilling - not, I admit, the hostel's fault.
Review 11:Normally stay in hotels but went for a private double room here due to high price of normal hotels in the city. Absolutely tiny, pretty much had to take it in turns getting dressed - but no complaints, at the end of the day it was a bed and a shower, clean and secure, they even have a couple of actual PC terminals in reception (an absolute lifesaver as I needed to access a non mobile compatible website while away from home and was starting to think it wouldn't be possible).
Review 12:The toilets and showers were atrocious, truly horrible. Asides from that everything was more than enough for affordable accommodation.
Review 13:Pleasant staff and a well organised tidy 'lobby area' kitchen was also in nice condition bar fridges.
Review 14:I think it's a bit expensive, because the room was good but simple.
Review 15:The situation. The room is clean and the views are very beautiful. There's a big window.
Review 16:The rooms are not sound proof, which means any sort of noise can reach your ears while asleep and spoil your night.
Review 17:The hostel is located close to the central train and bus stations, including the walking street.
Review 18:Tiny toilet: you could clean your teeth sitting in the WC, shower looked dirty, rusty water pipes, room not so clean, noisy corridors
Review 19:location and terrace
Review 20:- Place was not clean, either public spaces or the room - Room not ready upon my arrival (no soap in bathroom, burnt light bulb)
Review 21:- Location was very central, next to the Cathedral and old town - Rather cheap compared to other Aarhus options
Review 22:Denmark is expensive place, so 600dkk for a double room with bathroom is a fair price, but we got a room with window on a side with loud car traffic all night and morning. Impossible to sleep. And we couldn't print our paper, atlhough they have public computers and printer behind the reception. We were willing to pay, but there was no way although we really needed that.
Review 23:Close from the canal.
Review 24:It smells quite bad there and the beds are really uncomfortable! Because of the signs outside it was quite bright in the room.
Review 25:Cool interior, walking distance from city centre. Ok breakfast.
Review 26:The bed and pillow is little dirty.
Review 27:Staff is nice.
Review 28:Weird operating hours for the reception!
Review 29:Nice view from the room. Mine had a view of the courtyard and an old clock tower in the horizon.
Review 30:some room mate don't respect others when they see you sleeping they keeps making noises etc
Review 31:the bed the free wifi the lift the calmness
Review 32:Location is very good.
Review 33:The price compering to the facilities. Towels cost extra
Review 34:Location
Review 35:a little bit noisy at night
Review 36:located in a good place, not far from city centre, very helpful staff
Review 37:Nothing to put the towel in a dry place (appart from outside the shower) in the shower.
Review 38:design, good ambiance
Review 39:We had small sweet room with bathroom at 4th floor and kitchen downstairs with all that we needed. Town center is near and view is great.
Review 40:I slept on the street side and it was heavy car traffic all night. Quality low. Staff hardly speaking English.
Review 41:Location and price
Review 42:For the price I expected sth a little better.
Review 43:Location.
Review 44:The first question was wether I need bed sheets. Seriously? Nobody asked wether I need a towel. Luckily I had one with me. Shampoo, soap? You can buy that at reception. Breakfast? You can find something to eat there.
Review 45:I could sleep there. Probably a good place for a big company. In this case it's a good value for money.
Review 46:Very dirty place, would take a little time to keep it clean as the rooms and bathrooms are very spartan. Travelled a lot in my life and it is more on a par with a very cheap place in some forgotten places in India Århus is in Denmark and I would expect a very high standard even though it is advertised as an hostel the prices are more or less the same as an Hotel. Picture on website do not reflect the real deal. Will never stay in this place again.
Review 47:nothing
Review 48:The hostel has to put up with road works on their door step but no noise inside.
Review 49:Friendliness, tourism details such as maps and directions and proximity to great area of the city.
Review 50:the first night I hadn't the room and facilities I booked, tried to reach somebody, but only got a tape. beds are very basic, the combination of sink, shower and toilet is not very hygienic nor handy
Review 51:nearby the place I needed to be
Review 52:Couldn't connect to Wi-Fi for a couple of hours.
Review 53:Very good location, walking distance from the center of Aarhus and the pub and bard street Åboulevarden.
Review 54:The hostel lobby and stairway smells bad. The room was really small and the beds and pillows are too soft. The bathroom wasn't really clean neither.
Review 55:Good location and one of the staff members was really nice and helpful. He let us check in around 1pm instead of 4pm.
Review 56:When I came back to the hotel at 2:30 my key card did not work so it took about 30 minutes for someone to show up to let me into the front door of the hotel.
Review 57:The room is very small and the bed is narrow and sagged in the middle. No towels provided you had to rent them and you had to make the bed as well.
Review 58:The location
Review 59:Rather noisy due to traffic noise below Wifi was basically unusable in my room, slightly better when you go downstairs, but still very poor.
Review 60:Good location, close to city centre
Review 61:Some of the services provided had some flaws (linens, ...).
Review 62:The position of the hostel, near to the main venues and city centre, and walking/biking distance to the university.
Review 63:---the card machine is old, they cant accept my card (master card)so have to pay in cash. ---a bit of noisy ---far from central station
Review 64:the price is OK, and the deceration is good.
Review 65:i can not use wifi in my rooms. the signal is very low. I have to go to living room or dinning room for working with internet.
Review 66:i like how we could use their kitchen and their simple useful furniture. And it was surprising that they have elevator for that kind of place, which just met my need with my heavy luggage.
Review 67:Very noisy. Too many kids that they will play you dishes if you walk away just for a while. Make many noise even in midnight. And outside traffic make many noise as well. All in all, very noisy at night.....
Review 68:Too many kids in summer. Too naughty.
Review 69:Too much noise during the night in the floor, the position on the traffic road, too small wardrobe in the room, too many bees on the jams, the broom in the shower.
Review 70:The breakfast was very big and the courtyard for bikes.
Review 71:lots of party going on, maybe not the place you should chose when travelling with children no good parking space due to works on the docks
Review 72:uncomplicated hostel, perfect place for young party people very friendly staff very nice little garden
Review 73:The rooms are very small and the location can be noisy. However, the location is in a prime place for nightlife.
Review 74:I really liked the location. I found the people to be nice and respectful--easy to get along with. It was clean and I was able to have wireless internet in my room.
Review 75:Really really really tiny room & bed. Booked room with two single beds, but got one with one 120-140cm wide, uncomfortable bed wich practically filled the whole room.
Review 76:Nice and big common areas + kitchen, awesome staff. Good location. Clean. Loved the backyard garden!!! Free wi-fi. Everything worked the way they should.
Review 77:There was a party when i arrived late in the night, and they did not stop until 6 am. While they were partying there was no opportunity to contact any staff, as there was no night guard in the reception.
Review 78:The courtyard was nice
Review 79:Very basic facilities, backs on to an all-night bar/club so is verynoisy, curtains were far too short for the window, drain in the ensuitebathroom smelt strongly of eggs, wi-fi didn't work, reception isonly open during certain hours so we had to hang around on arrival.
Review 80:Location, price compared to other hotels in the area.
Review 81:The rooms were very old and when you get a room on the road side you can hardly sleep because of the noice. The furniture of the common kitchen was cleaner and more modern than the ones in the rooms. The Internet connection was not very stable in the rooms.
Review 82:The Reception is friendly but also sleepy. Bed linen were clean.
Review 83:I couldn't sleep, because noise from traffic was very loud and I could hear it as clear as I would have been sleeping beside the road outside. My room was 32.
Review 84:Excellent location!
Review 85:The fitted sheet was dirty - something brown (in best case - chocolade). Better take your own. While changing it, we've recognized a tiny insect / bug on the bed. The night wasn't relaxing for the mattress was bad for two. You can't sleep with windows opened, because there's a big road and a building lot right in front of the hostel. Ask for rooms directing to the backyard. The bathroom was dark, tiny and dirty - but functionable.
Review 86:The hostel is pretty cheap, though it is located close to the heart of the city. Its staff is friendly. They serve a breakfast buffet (not included in the price) - it's tasty an organic. You can use free internet on two counters in the lobby, play billard or watch TV.
Review 87:The kitchen could have been cleaner but it was still acceptable. Theopening hours of the reception are disappointing though - if you arrivebefore 4 pm do expect sitting in the tiny lobby until 4 when thereception opens. It might also be problematic if you need somethingoutside of reception opening hours (some early morning till 11 am, then4 pm till 7 pm and 7.30 pm till 9pm, as far as I remember). The bathroomwas very dark and had nowhere to hang our towels. One more negsativeimpression - the luggage storage room is always open so that anybody(theoretically even from the street) can walk in. Given a couple ofcreepy people we met in the hostel halls, we decided to store ourluggage at the train station instead.
Review 88:The kitchen was surprisingly big which was useful given the Danishprices. We liked the view from our windows - trains and sea so close by.The location is superb as a walk to the city centre (E.G. the mainshopping street Stroeget and the train station) takes less than 5minutes; Den gamle by which is a bit far off is also within walkingreach. There is an abundance of eateries and bars in the vicinity. Ifyou are staying in Aarhus for just a couple of nights this place maywell be your choice.
Review 89:- Bad smell in the bathroom- the shower is over the toilet, the wash basin is the size of an iPad. - cigarette smell in corridors - 3 bars on the inner side, playing TOO loud music until early morning and no one to complain - they charge for linen despite it is stated that it's included in the booking price - they charge for towels In overall, poor value for money, unpleasant stay and this is what you would expect in a third world country, but not in Europe! There's a hotel around the corner for the same price but much better experience. Ребята! Не портите себе отпуск! Советую резервировать отель за углом от известной датской сети за ту же цену или дешевле!!!
Review 90:- 2 computers in the lounge- 2 vending machines (one wasn't working) - no cockroaches - has hot water - was allowed to check in 2 hours earlier (2 o'clock, normal checking at 16:00) - some staff is very helpful
Review 91:Terrible breakfast. It's not suitable for a family trip.
Review 92:The location is good.
Review 93:also is that chicken, i think that can be much cleaner :)
Review 94:that chicken is sooo nice and all the visitors are friendly.
Review 95:Too noisy.
Review 96:not much beside one of the staff was very helpful
Review 97:everything
Review 98:Very poor beds and tiny room

Review 100:the staff and the noise
