Reviews for Crossroads
Review 1:Nothing bad to report. I thought the little signs explaining what things are were entertaining, a bit eccentric, kinda liked it.
Review 2:Crossroads was extremely convenient, a great stepping stone on my journey to London, and I slept like a log. They have a private car port which is secure, and I even left my luggage (camera equipment) in the back of the car overnight. Flawless. They have a ton of breakfast stuff, self-service in the room, which is great for getting fuelled up and hitting the road.
Review 3:Our ferry from Dublin was delayed so we needed somewhere to stay near the port. We found the crossroads guesthouse on booking.com and it suited our purposes perfectly. Len is lovely and looks after the place very well.
Review 4:Nothing to complain about!
Review 5:The room was very tidy and well tended. Len is highly considerate of your safety and schedule to insure a good experience. The grounds are clean, beautiful and secure. Highly recommend.
Review 6:Warm and little place where stay for a while. Near center and not far to the Lighthouse by car. Len is kind and polite. Place clean, warm and with everything we needed
Review 7:The breakfast was DIY with the majority of packeted 'breakfast foods' sugar laden! A toaster and marmalade would have been preferable.
Review 8:Immaculately clean and convenient for the ferry
Review 9:Not much choice of restaurants in Holyhead.
Review 10:Breakfast in room is a great idea; close to Holyhead mountain hiking trails; beautiful room with good view and sitting area.
Review 11:There were no taxis about so we walked ...its a very steep walk up the hill to get there!
Review 12:Very comfortable room with great view out over large park. The continental breakfast selection was a whole pantry of food!
Review 13:We chose this b and b as we were sailing from Holyhead the following morning. It is located in a nice area with a good pub nearby and close to the town.Don't be put off by no cooked breakfast . The choice in our room was amazing!
Review 14:Everything about crossroads really was perfect. From the lovely owner Len to its proximity to the ferry, restaurants etc. We could not have asked for a better experience. And the breakfast was amazing!
Review 15:Nothing bad to say at all
Review 16:Len greeted us upon arrival & was very friendly & gave us lots of information on where to eat and the local area. Our room was immaculate, the bed was very comfortable and on suite an excellent size
Review 17:A few more power point would be nice but that only if I had to say something.
Review 18:Friend manager, clean and comfy rooms, big bed, hot shower, fluffy towels lots of breakfast and very close to the ferry terminal.
Review 19:Good location within 2 min walk of the seafront and 5 min of the town. Great welcome, nothing was too much trouble, we were even found great, under cover, secure storage for bikes we'd brought with us. A very good accommodation.
Review 20:Proprietor demanded to be paid in cash only, which was outside our traveling experience. Created some inconvenience due to need to make trip to cash machine, was traveling to Ireland the next day and had depleted our British pounds.
Review 21:Short distance to Holyhead ferry. If you arrive later in the evening make sure to call ahead. Was delayed two hours due to bad weather (got in 10 pm), and our reservation was nearly cancelled. Breakfast cereal in room adequate.
Review 22:I love this place ! We felt very comfy and well treated . The place has got perfect localization. Owners are more than helpfull! Can highly recommend .
Review 23:Great location.Easy to get to.Convienient for Irish Ferry.Very welcoming host who made sure we had the best room for an early start to get to the ferry. Good breakfast supplies .We would recommend this B and B to anyone
Review 24:What's not to like. Pleasing experience, will visit again.
Review 25:So convenient, no hassle. Len very pleasant and helpful. Loved the idea of breakfast in room.
Review 26:We would have liked to lay in on the Saturday morning as we both normally have to get up but Len insisted that we go out so that his daughter could clean the room even though we had earlier said that we were happy for it not to be cleaned as we only arrived the previous afternoon. It would have been nice to know that it was expected that we pay in advance as every other B&B I have stayed in you pay when you leave. I have no problem paying in advance but to have someone almost demanding that I get dressed and go into town to get some money before coming straight back made me feel like I was a child again
Review 27:The room is lovely and having a private entrance means you can come and go as you please. The access to the garden is nice and it is a lovely little garden and patio. Having the breakfast there in the room is a nice touch which means you can help yourself when you are hungry without having to sat in a breakfast room at a certain time in oreder to get your breakfast.
Review 28:Fantastic host, thoughtful and considerate. Full of information and most helpful. No hot breakfast but plenty of fruits, cereals and juices to pick from.
Review 29:Cash only payment - Admittedly, this was stated on the booking.com email, but I didn't notice it
Review 30:Friendly, helpful hosts. Huge room. I enjoyed the array of cereals and breakfast snacks (with fresh milk!) - much preferred to a cooked breakfast
Review 31:The stay was too short. Holyhead has more to offer than a port that will take you to Dublin.
Review 32:Friendly staff, local knowledge imparted so thta we could prioritize our planning for spending a day in this part of Wales
Review 33:The location is very convenient, within walking distance of the ferry terminal and train station. Our room was very clean and comfortable and had a beautiful view overlooking the park and the mountain. Len was very welcoming and helpful with any questions we had about Holyhead and gave us great tips about where to eat, how to find the laundromat and the best way to hike to South Stack lighthouse! We would definitely book here again the next time we visit Wales.
Review 34:Nothing!!
Review 35:It was clear that our comfort was absolute priority, comfy bed, good shower etc. the owner had a personal touch and directed us t o an evening meal. Nothing too much trouble.j
Review 36:The bed dipped in the middle, terrible for a couple.
Review 37:Very good location and great staff. Been here before and the room was great. Not so second visit. Ask for room 5.
Review 38:Perfect for an overnight stop to get first ferries to Ireland. Easy trip to Holyhead. Excellent parking for motorbikes. Continental breakfast ideal for early dash down road to port ( 3 mins)
Review 39:Excellent location and the accommodation was absolutely spotless. The breakfast bar is a marvellous idea and the selection is very wide. Len is very hospitable and helpful giving detailed directions and up to date information on the ferries
Review 40:Had to leave staying only one night without getting to know more about Holyhead.
Review 41:We, my wife and me, stayed one night at this nice house on the way from Dublin to Bath Spa. We stayed in a room on the first floor with a view of nice green field from the window and spacious bathroom. Various cereals, juices, fruits, oatmeal porridge, coffee, tea, etc. were prepared in the room for our own breakfast making in the morning. A small cute fridge containing a bottle of milk in the room is a good idea and made us smile. Len, the owner, kindly gave us a lift to the railway station for our further journey to Bath via train. Thanks!
Review 42:The 'serve yourself' breakfast was ideal for an early start. Particularly liked having a large jug of fresh milk in the fridge. Plenty of tea, coffee, small juice cartons, individually wrapped pastries and cereals etc. A much better choice than expected
Review 43:None.
Review 44:It's location in a nice residential area lends itself to great walks in almost all directions. Just a short walk from town center but beware it's uphill from the ferries and station. Excellent seafood restaurant close by with a great view of a marina.
Review 45:Nothing.
Review 46:Convenient to ferry terminal in quiet residential area. Very sociable, pleasant host. Very clean comfortable facilities with lovely view across from the room.
Review 47:Didn't get to stay longer
Review 48:Lovely and comfortable, have stayed in 5 star hotels all over the world! And Iv yet to find a place as clean as this b&b. Highly recommended and il for sure be staying there again when I passing through. Patrick.
Review 49:The accommodation is very comfortable and kept in excellent condition. The owner has considered the traveller's every need. We stopped at Crossroads before catching an early ferry and Len, the owner, was really helpful in ensuring that we had all the information that we needed to ensure a timely & convenient stay.
Review 50:The proprietor was very welcoming, knowledgable and helpful. Ideal location just a short walk from the town. Fresh sweeties left everyday! Parking available too.
Review 51:Everything. Len was very welcoming and knowledgeable. I had the ground floor room which had it's own private entrance and small garden area, It was very comfortable, clean, warm, safe with everything you could need. Location perfect. Great value for money - highly recommend it to anyone.
Review 52:Limited power sockets- could be perfect if dealt!
Review 53:Spacious bedroom&bathroom Informative host Dinning table Powerful shower Double bed Cozy and tidy Comfortable bed
Review 54:Nothing
Review 55:Very comfy room arrived early hours and booking in was easy, room, bed, tv, kettle with all manner ov teas and coffee, breakfast was ample. Well recommend xx
Review 56:Nothing to complain about.
Review 57:Quiet and comfortable. There were all kinds of cereals and other stuff for breakfast in the room. The owner was very friendly. He even drove us to the train station in the morning.
Review 58:Nothing to dislike.
Review 59:A very comfortable, friendly Guest house. We were very comfortable and had everything we needed. Great to have free wifi and excellent tea, coffe etc. facilities. Thank you for your help and friendliness. A really good find. We would recommend it strongly.
Review 60:It is not sign posteted well, it reads Crossroads only not letting you know it's the guest house.
Review 61:Dad and I stayed in the ground floor room with our own access and free parking. The rooms are well thought out and having choices of cereal, fruit juices, tea and coffee was very convenient for an early morning ferry trip.
Review 62:The owner Len was very nice, the room was a very good size with good facilities. Would definitely recommend to anyone and would definitely stay there again
Review 63:If you like the style of decor, there's nothing to gripe about, if you don't likethe style, still don't gripe, because it's beautifully ,maticulacy done
Review 64:Immaculately decorated. Spotlessly clean, neat, tidy. Comfortable, relaxed. Good location . Pleasant area. Easy parking. All facilities. Friendly, hospitable, knowledgeable. Obliging. Professional.
Review 65:Nothing really but was surprised that he couldn't take Visa card. No mention on Bookings.com? Needs a fire escape plan in each room.
Review 66:Len was a great host and his home professionally presented. Breakfast was adequate as presented in room. Facilities all in good order.
Review 67:Wifi excellent in the upstairs room, but poor in the ground floor room. Breakfast is help yourself to a choice of cereals, yogurt or biscuits but no toast or croissants with preserves.
Review 68:Very comfortable room, we saw both & opted for the first floor room because the wifi was better. Len was very helpful directing us to a Marston Pub called The Stepping Stones where we had a very nice meal (buy one get one free). He also provides a chinese takeaway menu for those that prefer. He also apologised that he was not allowed to express what he provides for breakfast accurately on the website. Len provides an excellent choice of tea, coffee & hot chocolate, a variey of individual cartons of juice, a variety of biscuits, cereals, with yogurts & fresh milk being provided in a mini fridge. So basically you are self catering but everything is provided for your supper & breakfast (unless you prefer toast)
Review 69:Len is the perfect host. He is so easy to talk to and nothing was a problem for him. His advice on everything from where to eat, returning our rental car and the logistics of catching our ferry to Ireland was spot on.
Review 70:Towels washed with conditioner - thus non- absorbent and very small. Continental breakfast not appropriate term for what is offered and had to be eaten in the room. Milk left uncovered in the fridge. Cash only payment.
Review 71:Homeliness and quiet location. Comfortable bed and good bed-linen. Warm reception.
Review 72:Arriving after midnight, it was great to find a very clean, quiet and comfortable room 5" from the ferry. Nice choice of breakfast goodies, nice location. We would come back.
Review 73:We were welcomed at the port by our friendly and knowledgeable host after the very late ferry arrived from Dublin. The accommodation is in a lovely spot with a pretty view and is a solid attractive building. Our room had a very comfortable bed and all amenities including 'help yourself' style dry breakfast and table setting in our room. Bathroom very good too. Would like a couple of days there next time.
Review 74:len the land lord very friendly and helpful what people do not realise that this b and b does not do a cooked breakfast you have a breakfast bar in your room if you look at the pictures you will see a breakfast bar in the rooms
Review 75:Would have liked hot cooked breakfast web page said breakfast includes but was cereal and hot drink only but very hard to find a pub meal or cafe open after 6 pm
Review 76:The house was spotless very comfortable and not far from seafront
Review 77:Very poor breakfast, even by 'continental' breakfast standards. It was just a choice of mini boxes of cereals and milk! This wasn't disclosed until we arrived. If the room is advertised 'with breakfast' I'd expect more than was offered.
Review 78:Room was clean and adequate
Review 79:The owner was very kind and generous, making sure I was comfortable and that it was quiet. He freely offered to help me find my way around Holyhead, and aided me in my preparations to go to Ireland. The rooms were spotless and cozy, and teas, biscuits and cereal was all included. If I ever return to Holyhead, I will insure I return to crossroads.
