Reviews for The Sun Inn

Review 1:Nothing . . didnt eat or drink in hotel so cant comment

Review 2:Stayed in room19 on top floor. Clean refurbished double room, Plain decor & modern furniture, good shower, good staff, rroom cleaned each day.. Used hotel as digs while working in Barrow. Great location in Ulverston market place. Private carpark at rear of hotel.

Review 3:The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. The rooms was spacious, clean and well equipped. Cup cakes with the tea and coffee was a really nice touch and the breakfasts were amazing. The top floor rooms have been recently refurbished and the if the rest of the building is done to the same standard it will quite outstanding.

Review 4:Third floor room bit of a hike however if you stayed for a week you would be as fit as a flea. Lively friday and saturday night if you cant beat them join them or take ear plugs ha ha .

Review 5:nice big room and bathroom as well . Comfy bed . Great view of the town . Lovely Staff . Left to get on with your holiday but staff on stand by for any advice on where to go and what to do whilst you where there. . Great location and nice pubs and restaurants . Lastly a delightful afternoon cup cake and a cup of tea was an added extra in our room on our return from a day out to Conishead Priory which was just down the road .

Review 6:The noise was unbearable, as a young couple we aren't new to loud music however this wasn't just loud, with a live band and rave music along with the noise from the beer garden until well after 4am. Being on the 3rd floor you would not think this would be a problem, however we could not sleep on our pillows due to the vibrations from the bass. Also when the issue was raised with the owner of the inn, he seemed disinterested and very unhelpful, I somehow feel he may have dealt with this sort of complaint before.... We were also treated to our bathroom being painted, during our stay. This was without warning and caused my girlfriends eczema and asthma to flare, leading to even more discomfort that night, before we even heard any music or considered the plastic lining to the mattress. If you want a night out in a pub/rave and somewhere to stay after then this is the place for you. If you are looking for a place to stay whilst exploring the lakes please avoid at all cost.

Review 7:We liked that it was easily accessible and central to the town.

Review 8:very noisy in the early hours but you are warned in advance of this

Review 10:No lift, and loud music, although we were informed about it before booking, just didn't expect the amount of stairs and the loudness of the music in the early hrs

Review 11:The location was superb, bang in the centre, price was very good.

Review 12:The night entertainment till late night, however we had a top room so could not hear much. Guests on the lower floors might find the music disturbing.

Review 13:The location was very convenient, right in the centre. We stayed just for one night, however the staff was very helpful at all times and the breakfast the next morning was superb.

Review 14:The hotel is located centrally in Ulverston, a few minutes walk from the station. My room had very good en suite bathroom facilities and a modern flat screen television.
