Review 1：- meals were prepared directly in the restaurant, which is not good idea indeed (dress and everything smelt horribly afterwards) - we were choosing between Valamar Zagreb and Crystal, and we decided for Crystal especially because of the hotel pool, that was supposed to be heaten up, but we expected more than 24 degrees (water was quite cold) - lady in reception (who later shown to be the hotel manager) was unpleasant everytime we met her

Review 2：+ location was great - 20 mins walk from the city centre (Porec is beautiful, wonderful town definitely worth visiting) + nearly every evening there was a live music in the lobby bar, which was great for both listening and dancing + food was excellent, and water for dinner was for free which was nice surprise + very comfortable beds

Review 7：The breakfast is good except for the fruit juice which was plain terrible. Anyway 'real', fresh made juice could be requested (but you had to pay for it). The most disappointing thing, anyway, is the idea of the buffet restaurant as a whole: I think that, even if the food was good, it was not always properly cooked (they've lots of excellent olive oil in Croatia: why not use it?). Besides, in my opinion, in a 4 star hotel you cannot cook in the same room where your guests are supposed to eat, not only because of the aesthetics but because this increaes confusion instead than contributing for the guest to have a peaceful lunch or dinner. Not to mention the smell which, by cooking in a separate room (the kitchen) would be cut off from the restaurant.

Review 8：We've really enjoyed the wonderful position and services offered by the hotel and by the structures around it. The room was very comfortable and tidy. The staff has always been kind and helpful. We definitely had a great stay at Valamar Crystal.

Review 10：Everything was perfect. We were upgraded from double room to family suite. That makes our stay more comfortable with two toddlers (1 and 2.5 years old). Very good food. Definitely coming back.

Review 13：No 4-star standard throughout the Hotel. Rooms are nicely decorated but very small, Food for breakfast and dinner is ok but nothing special. Staff is not very friendly (except for one or two exceptions). Pool area is very crowded - no sunbeds available if you come to the pool after 9am. Evening Shows are extremely loud - if you have a room with view to the pool it can get quite noisy until 11pm.

Review 14：The Location and Cleanliness was good. Aircondition in the rooms worked fine although there was a heatwave in Croatia at the time of our stay.

Review 26：It's quite a big hotel, so don't expect overly attentive individual service. However, for a resort hotel of this nature the service was pretty good. Staff will tell you that the walk to the old town takes 15 minutes. Unless you are a nordic walking expert, expect it to take about 20 minutes to the edge of town and about half an hour to the old town centre. However, it is a pleasant walk, especially in the evenings when it is cooler. Plent'y of places to stop for a drink or a rest if needed. Other options are to take a rickshaw-bike or "mini-train", if walking is not for you.

Review 27：Location set back slightly from the coast among the pine trees was tranquil and picturesque. Walking distance from Porec old town along the charming seaside promenade. The pool and man made beach area looked inviting, although we did not use them as we only stayed 2 nights and were more interested in exploring the surrounding towns and countryside. Breakfasts were adequate, but the coffee wasn't great (a perennial gripe of mine. Many hotels in Southern Europe seem to think that labelling their coffee "Caffe Americano" is an excuse to serve dishwater :P ) The Breakfast room was busy, but the staff were efficient at clearing and resetting a table for you. We did not try the dinner, even though we had booked half board, preferring to eat in the old town.

Review 54：The hotel placed in a really nice location next to the sea. You can find a lot of activity easily for you and for your child as well. There are nice beach for children. The town of Porec is wonderful, and is just half an hour walk from the hotel, but you can take the tourist train or water taxi.

Review 55：A bit far from the city center (about 20-25 min walk), but the is city is a 'must see'. Sea water pool. The beach has no use: it is far, small and you have to pay even for the sunbeds. Parking lot is limited, free though.

Review 56：This is a very good typical family hotel. Staff is nice and helpful, food is absolutely awesome and has a wide variety, wi-fi is good, free and quick. If you want to use the gym or the spa, you got to go to the hotel next to it (Valamar Diamant) and pay 100 hrk/person, but that really makes sense, because that is phenomenal. Good music programmes in the evening.

Review 64：Staff at exchange office next to reception. I exchanged EUR for local currency twice. First time amount on the exchange receipt was 721,99 HRK, second time 361,97 HRK. For my first exchange I got 721,00 HRK and I thought it was an overview by the receptionist who works at exchange desk as well and didn't want to complain as the amount is not significant. But when the same thing happened for my second exchange transaction it couldn't be an overview anymore. After I pay their attention to exchanged amount and told them they (different receptionist) did the same thing few days ago, the receptionist told me - "I will give you 1 HRK". The fact that she told this without even checking the exchange receipt or re-counting the money makes me believe that she intentionally paid back lower amount. Of course, 1 HRK is not the point of the story. If that 1 HRK is that important to me I wouldn't had vacation at all. But if there is a exchange rate list with statement that customer has to pay 2.5% commission, and if I agree on those conditions, then I expect to get full amount. On the other hand, if that 1 HRK is that important to the hotel, then they should raise commission to 2.6%. Otherwise guests might get a feeling that staff tries to cheat on them.

Review 66：It was very hot when we first arrived and the dining area wasextremely uncomfortable due to this. We looked at two hotels on eitherside of ours and both offered out-door dining. One of these hotels wasgraded a star less than ours and was a sister hotel so there's noreal excuse.

You need to pick up towels for the swimming pool at the reception and you can wait even 30 min or more! You also need time for check in and check out even you are the only guest at the reception.

Thebreakfast/dinner lounge is extremely crowdeed, even at the end of March,I can't imagine what it must be like in peak season. Because of the lackof space, I think, they put several tables together in the dinning room,so you don't really get much privacy, since there are many other peoplesitting next to you. This is definitely not a 4* hotel and not ideal fora romantic getaway.
