Reviews for Pride of Lincoln by Good Night Inns

Review 1:Most of all- badly kept restaurant, looked dirty, i did not dare go in for dinner or breakfast. Went to Frank and Benny stair case- torn carpet, very tiny bathroom

Review 2:Picture on website does not reflect the real interior

Review 3:Noise from other guests all night long we got no sleep. Spoilt our week end they should be ashamed .no consideration for anybody. They should not be allowed to stay in hotels acting like they did.

Review 4:Comfort of beds and rooms

Review 5:The food situation was very poor. The ordering system was chaotic with staff visibly struggling with food orders. The food was poor such a shame chefs cannot be hired to cook more fresh home made dishes rather than the frozen food mass produced standard fayre. I have travelled extensively and other countries seem to be able to produce menus with fresh food for the same or even less costs.

Review 6:Close to Lincoln city centre and all amenities and nice and warm as stayed in Wintertime also not over expensive

Review 7:Do not use the Fayre and Square pub attached next door. Horrendous food even for 'ping' chain.

Review 8:Good rooms and very clean. Staff extremely helpful, but if going to the Christmas market remember this is five miles out of the centre of town. The bus is only one an hour and takes over 55 minutes. But taxis are available £16 or you could drive to the Christmas park and ride.

Review 9:Only one slight problem. No-one at desk upon arrival. We rang bell but had to wait 15 minutes before anyone arrived

Review 10:The rooms were spotless. And the staff were most helpful

Review 11:Our room was the only one where the window did not open

Review 12:We visited at a really cold time of year and the place was both lovely and warm and because of our late arrival they even kept the kitchen open so we could eat. Quiet and clean and comfortable

Review 13:The staff were helpful but not always available on reception. The mattress was great but it was not supportive at the sides.Tea and coffee limited.

Review 14:The room was fantastic .The double sink was a blessing too

Review 15:Not enough coffee milk or sugar in the room to last over night for a couple of drinks each

Review 16:How spacious the room was how friendly staff was were when we asked for a taxi they phoned a few for us ow quiet it was to say it's in an industrial estate and main road

Review 17:Extreme shortage of staff especially in the evening in the bar/restaurant area meant that a substantial wait had to be endured when ordering food and drinks.

Review 18:Ideal location and what few staff there are available, are very friendly and helpful.

Review 19:No telephone in room to contact reception. Group of noisy lads shouting and singing with crude+abusive language next door at 1 oc in the morning.

Review 20:Spacious and clean room

Review 21:My room had a connecting door to the room next door, and although it was looked it wasn't particularly sound proof - heard their TV very clearly as well as their alarm clock etc in the morning.

Review 22:Lovely room and very comfortable bed, would stay here again and recommend to friends/colleagues.

Review 23:The bed was not comfatable and could do with new ones and the bath was dirty also the towels smelt mucky overall the whole place needs updating had to send my food back too

Review 24:Liked that the pub was so close

Review 25:I come to Lincoln to visit family a few times a year and always try to book into the Pride of Lincoln. Rooms are clean, comfortable and good value for money.

Review 26:The fact we could hear clearly the people next door ..due to an adjoining door! Fan I bathroom would not turn off...sink tap difficult to turn completely off...

Review 27:left waiting to check in, another guest found someone, and then coming back into the hotel after a night out, kept waiting again

Review 28:attached to restaurant

Review 29:There was a hole in the net curtain and the shelf under the TV looked worn and was very loose The extractor fan in the bathroom was very noisy Plus the directions to find the hotel could be better

Review 30:The attitude of the staff was very good The room was clean and tidy The brickfast was excellent for the money It was a nice and quiet location

Review 31:Had to wait 25 minutes to check in at reception (sign said there would be a short wait), neighbours were drunk and swearing loudly, management only attended the room when things started getting broken. Metal fixing on shower was incomplete and rusting. Tried to check out at 7.45, got told neither the restaurant or check out opened till 8 so I would have to wait.

Review 32:Hard to find something...ample parking I suppose

Review 33:Not a bad experience but the hotel is way out from the centre of Lincoln and we didn't want to take the car in so went by bus - the bus service in the evening is dire.

Review 34:Plenty of parking, good breakfast, staff excellent.

Review 35:In need of TLC light over basin not working reported but nothing done. The continental breakfast was very poor the English was fine.

Review 36:The hotel was convenient to visit family and close to Lincoln City

Review 37:Very mean with tea, coffee and milk, only 2 of coffee and tea, no decaf, and very few milk portions. I asked for more but was told "sorry but it has just changed ownership and this is their policy". Not had this before even at an " economy" hotel

Review 38:Free car park and free WiFi in all rooms. Good restaurant attached.

Review 39:On the first night the next door room were very noisy from 3.30 am. I did not realise that there was a number I could have phoned for the night porter. Spoke about this at the desk the next day, but nothing taken from bill for my disturbed night. Some areas are looking a bit tired and could do with decorating.

Review 40:The room was spacious and very clean. Lots of parking. Close to the city. Staff were very friendly

Review 41:although hotel and rooms are kept clean feel it needs a little refurbishing.

Review 42:We have used this hotel on various occasions and find all friendly and helpful food is good

Review 43:The faulty cold water tap on wash basin. Had to report it twice and nothing had been done to rectify the problem before we left after a two night stay.

Review 44:Convenient for public transport to city centre. Good car parking with easy access. Handy for eating in adjoining restaurant

Review 45:Think you should state that you are on Runcorn Road for SatNav users! That's all.

Review 46:The hotel was easy to find and situated not far from the city off Lincoln. Also was sited next to a major trunk road, no road noise heard and very peaceful sleep.

Review 47:The hotel needs some updating ie wallpaper coming off and heating that works plus you should be informed if they have got a function on because its very loud

Review 48:The right location

Review 49:Went into fair/square restaurant they had sold out of items we wanted to eat which we were disappointed with and went to Frankie and Bennie's restaurant where we had a very poor meal which we ended sending back spoilt are break

Review 50:Value for money very nice hotel bed very comfy

Review 51:The hotel met our needs for an overnight stay enroute. Probably the hotel a "little tired" and could do with a make over. The english breakfast was well prepared and tasty

Review 52:Shower did not work (v/hot or v/cold)(but was fixed first thing in morning) Food in restaurant mediocre !

Review 53:Friendly welcoming staff Clean and comfortable room and bed Would stay there again

Review 54:Nothing really, could have done with a few more towels, but the front desk sorted anything of that nature

Review 55:General location and staff were very good, restaurant and nearby eateries and Lincoln nearby was also very good.

Review 56:A minor consideration, the breakfast and fish supper would have been enhanced had the plates been warmer. One appreciates that 'Health and Safety' might impinge on this comment when considering children's meals.

Review 57:Friendly and accommodating Staff in both reception and the bar. Food was good, hot and well presented.

Review 58:Had to be moved from first room, very strong smell of cigarette smoke. Second room toilet would not flush but was fixed.

Review 59:Friendly staff. Plenty of parking. Rooms tired and old fashioned but functional and spacious.

Review 60:Had to wait until 08:00 for reception to open to settle the bill.

Review 61:Friendly staff. Restaurant serves a good choice of food and prices are fair. Bus service 200 yards from hotel that goes to Lincolm City centre.

Review 62:The hotel's décor looked very tired and in need of updating. The carpet in the entrance wasn't clean, and it was odd having to go into the adjoining restaurant to announce our arrival. The bathroom was not cleaned thoroughly; there were black hairs in the bath and on the basin. The basin taps needed descaling around the base - there was unpleasant black mould on them (room 21).

Review 63:Very friendly and helpful staff. Location good for sightseeing in Lincoln. Good value. The room was spacious and the beds comfortable.

Review 64:No staff at reception I had to go and find someone in the next door restaurant. there was a sign on reception telling you go and find someone!! Hotel generally dirty and knocked about

Review 65:Nothing

Review 66:Thin walls, could hear the neighbours, communicating door with next room. Great if travelling as a family, I didn't need it.

Review 67:The staff were excellent very friendly and professional.

Review 68:The whole place looked tired and most of time no staff on reception. You had to go into the bat and wait to be served to get booked in. Staff hardly said good morning or seemed to care about the hotel guests. Baksheesh it is s pub with rooms not a hotel - or at least that is how it is run. Won't be back!

Review 69:Free car parking

Review 70:Building needs a bit of TLC with peeling paintwork and tissues stuffed into window frame to avoid draughts.

Review 71:Very friendly and helpful staff, well equipped room and good value for money.

Review 72:The hotel was very noisy and the wall were thin! They forgot to informus of a loud function taking place downstairs all night and that ourroom had a interconnecting door so we could hear every word from thenext room! To top it off we had to listen to boy racers screeching tyresaround a car park at 1am......Awful Night!!!

Review 73:Not a lot!!!

Review 74:We had room No.1 and our bed backed onto next doors bathroom and it was quite noisy at night.

Review 75:The Hotel was in a good location for us and parking was easy.

Review 76:great value for money, staff friendly, happy and helpful, room surprised me for the price i paid was clean and well decorated, very smart, food in the restaurant was top notch

Review 77:nothing its a top place to stay

Review 78:Excellent place The food includes some good cheap deals but it is top notch great quality. we stay every year for the Lincoln Steam & vintage show, we have stayed at 2 other hotels in the area that had better room deals over the years but we still always eat here

Review 79:Oil cloth in breakfast area was so sticky, please clean it every meal Hotel itself was great. Little thought our voucher expired before we arrived so could not use it.

Review 80:Staff were brilliant our first visit but we shall certainly use your hotels again as we regularly travel in UK

Review 81:Had to go to restaurant to check in. WiFi a little slow at times. Noisy fan in Bathroom. Curtains were coming off the rail. None of these were too much of an inconvenience. It is close to Lincoln but traffic can be very slow.

Review 82:Spacious room and comfortable beds. Free parking, plenty of space. Quiet while we were there. Very good value. I was able to go for a short run on local roads. Good deals for Breakfast and Evening meal, though we didn't try them.

Review 83:Slight problem in wanting to buy meal deal but not able to pay on check out because the reception didn't open until 8am and I had to be away early.

Review 84:Personal service of receptionist, very helpful

Review 85:Nothing - we were highly satisfied with all

Review 86:Everything - including the evening meal in the restaurant. Everything about our one night stay was excellent including caring and professionalism of the staff members

Review 87:Wi-Fi details were not readily available in the room & you had to ask for that at the reception.

Review 88:Good location with other amenities nearby. Staff in both the hotel and bar could not have been friendlier.

Review 89:Quite a noisy hotel and a little tired for a decoration point of view

Review 90:All the Staff were excellent couldnt be better made you welcome from start to finish

Review 91:Only sachet coffee at breakfast. Expected in room with tea making facilities but not really good enough in the restaurant. Also, the hotel is easily seen from road, but not too obvious how to get there. There appear to be no signs - unlike other hotels.

Review 92:The hairdryer blew up in my wife's hand, it smoked a lot and you could smell a strong burning odour. Reception were not able to supply a replacement hairdryer

Review 93:bit noisey due to some music and cars in a car park near the back of the hotel. But it didn't stop me sleeping. Run out of real ale.

Review 94:Very friendly natural staff

Review 95:Not the hotel's fault, but from 9pm the rooms vibrated to the heavy bass of boy racers outside. Thankfully the kids were exhausted and it didn't stop them sleeping. Kept me awake though.

Review 96:Attractive building, loved the interconnecting rooms great for young families.

Review 97:Public areas tired and a bit grubby looking. Pub next door not used because service was very slow with too few bar staff, went into Lincoln instead. Not great value for money.

Review 98:Bed and bathroom were clean

Review 99:It was understaffed. The receptionist was dealing with a couple who wanted their wedding there, no manager around to show the couple around (poor service). Deals were up on the lobby that didn't exist as the tills were not set up.

Review 100:The coffee shop around the corner from the hotel. (Wasn't part of the hotel)

Review 101:Setting up for an event on the Sunday morning woke us up at 7am! (Van doors slamming etc)

Review 102:Situated on the ring road makes it handy for getting out and about.

Review 103:The fire alarm went off at 20.30 and there was no coordination or a staff member in charge to let customers and guests know what was going on.

Review 104:Although we travelled by car there was a convenient bus stop going into Lincoln. There was a pub on hand so handy for meals. Friendly staff.

Review 105:Bed a little firm for my liking. Breakfast was too expensive so we skipped it. Facility had cobwebs in public areas and looked neglected

Review 106:Convenient to get into town. Easy to find. Plenty of parking

Review 107:Could not connect to the free wifi only available in selected room bath plug chain snapped off and had to prise plug out with a spoon due to rusty small chain to start with .

Review 108:Bath and shower available spacious rooms good choice of food available good value for money excellent breakfast

Review 109:Cleanliness of cutlery and tables at breakfast. Steaks over cooked at dinner. Poor flushing toilet in the room and no shower mat in the bath, (you could request one from the reception) General appearance of the Hotel, needs a coat of paint for a good facelift.

Review 110:Friendly staff in general. Plenty of parking.

Review 111:for me i have to leave early so for sat and sun i have to get b/fast at other places. that is not a complaint

Review 112:convenient with the pub next door tio eat

Review 113:The wifi connection was not available at times during the evening which was a bit frustrating!!

Review 114:The rooms were adequately sized, clean and the beds comfortable! The restaurant staff and the breakfasts provided were good! Value for money!

Review 115:Nothing.

Review 116:The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. The staff in reception and particularly the restaurant are friendly and always happy to help. Food was excellent, huge portions, and very good value.

Review 117:Bathroom was horrendous! Water was very very hot! The shower was useless unless you wanted 3rd degree burns from the heat of the water! The thermostat was obviously broken. The plug in the sink did not retain water.

Review 118:Size of room

Review 119:Noisy customers. Thin walls so could hear everything 3 doors away. Noisymusic from reception which they were reluctant to turn down at 11.00pm

Review 120:Air conditioning in the room would be nice Not as close to the centre of Lincoln as I would have liked about a 20 minute drive out

Review 121:Clean and well priced room Bar attached closes early so quiet The staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble

Review 122:I was a lone female & didn't like the fact the room had a connecting door to the other room. As I arrived late in the evening I didn't want to check it was locked as the other room was occupied! Felt a little uneasy if I'm honest.

Review 123:Friendly receptionist.

Review 124:Not enough milk provided but extra provided by reception when requested.

Review 125:Cleanliness. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff and very good location for access to Lincoln. Milk provided does taste like 'fresh' not the usual awful UHT stuff. Well done.

Review 126:The location of the hotel was perfect for our needs and the staff were very helpful and always seemed to have a smile for you. And we shall be returning in the future.

Review 127:The hotel had run out of many foods on the first day which was a bank holiday. ie Eggs, tomatoes, etc. There was a delay in getting shown to a table even though there were many available. There was no entertainment or additional services other than the bar. Some music would help.

Review 128:Location, polite staff, cleanliness.

Review 129:There appears to be a problem with wi-fi but I reported it and was assured it would be sorted.

Review 130:The staff here were welcoming and helpful making our short stay very pleasant. The value for money was fantastic and it was great to see original photos of Lincoln on the walls rather than typical "hotel abstracts"

Review 131:Not sure about the salsa dancing classes ongoing until late.

Review 132:Great location for my visit. Plenty of car parking and secure. Good choice of food and good value too.

Review 133:The rooms are all above the function suite which, on my night, had salsa dancing which took place until just before 11pm. Not good on a school day.

Review 134:Stayed because it looks so silly. It's a windmill. Even better it turns out to be a purpose built windmill. Who doesn't love a 1970s folly? Free parking, good breakfast, good wifi, good TV, and on the right side of town for my work. (NB: Lincoln has a level crossing running through the middle and you can be made late for work by queues waiting for trains if you set off on the wrong side of it. I was half an hour late for an evening event, having started on the Castle side and needing to be on the other side)

Review 135:Rooms not fully cleaned and very tired looking. Seemed to run out of food at breakfast and were very slow to top up. Had to keep asking staff for cutlery, crockery, glasses, mugs, as well as coffee and pastries.

Review 136:The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Review 137:The staff were extremely helpful, courteous and polite. They also informed us before we arrived that there was a function that night and the noise may be an issue giving us time to change our arrangements. Excellent facilities I would stay again.

Review 138:Only book if you are traveling by car. This hotels location is outside Lincoln located on the edge of a industrial site of a surrounding town.

Review 139:Friendly staff and comfortable rooms.

Review 140:The hotel was first class and the staff were so helpful nothing was to much trouble. At breakfast your duty staff member Joe was so helpful as my wife can only eat certain things nothing was to much trouble she was polite and her customer service was outstanding. we would like to thank one and all for our stay we will be back again thank you
