Reviews for At No 9

Review 1:Absolutely everything from the very first minute we arrived to the minute we left the welcome could not have been warmer, nothing was to much trouble, breakfast was first class not to mention the tea and cake on arrival and the card and wee dram provided for New Year could not have asked fro more.

Review 2:Beautiful accommodation, very well appointed rooms. Very comfortable bed and spotlessly clean. Evelyn couldn't do enough for me. lovely residents lounge with wood burner, the welcome coffee and cake was a nice homely touch.Fabulous breakfast. Can't reccommend this place highly enough.

Review 3:Nothing.

Review 4:A warm welcome which complemented the comfort and warmth of the house. Comfortable bed, excellent breakfast and a great location combined to make it a very enjoyable stay.

Review 5:We liked it all.

Review 6:Evelyn was great, so helpful and welcoming serving tea, coffee and cake upon our arrival. The B&B is really nicely decorated and homely.

Review 7:Pack lightly as no elevator.

Review 8:Beautiful rooms. Fluffy feather duvet. Peaceful and brand new bathrooms. Wonderful made to order breakfast. Evelyn was so helpful.

Review 9:There is nothing to not like about this B&b!

Review 10:Everything! From Evelyn's warm welcome, the delightful and stylish decor, the location, the supremely comfortable bed and bedding to the first rate breakfast this is one classy establishment! All other b&bs should aim for this standard!

Review 11:Loved the "snug" room. Where we met the host for a tea or coffee and some homebakes. Room was lovely with nice little touches like 2 shots of whisky and complimentary chocolates. Breakfast was really nice, so all in all a brilliant experience.

Review 12:Our host provided us with her personal warmth, a beautifully appointed facility, great comfort in our room and a delicious, healthy breakfast to start the day in a very special town.

Review 13:This is B n B with afternoon tea thrown in. Beautifully appointed house with lots of little Scottish country life touches. Evelyn has gone to a lot of trouble to make it homely and comfortable and starts your experience with afternoon tea, topped off with her warmth and friendliness. Nothing is too much trouble. Thank you for our lovely stay. We will be back.

Review 14:Evelyn is a delightful host who greets you on arrival ,in our case with most needed (stuck in traffic getting there) home baking and tea or coffee in a beautiful residents room with a wood burning stove on the first flooroverlooking the cathedral. There is a small room on the first floor for residents with a kettle , every tea you can think of and a coffee machine , also a fridge to use . Evelyn was a great source of local knowledge and can suggest places of interest to visit and places to eat also.

Review 15:There is absolutely nothing negative that I can say - a wonderful find.

Review 16:What a wonderful find. Stunning little B&B in the centre of Dornoch. A fabulous welcome from Evelyn, a stunning room including our own lounge with everything you could possibly need. One of the best breakfasts to be had in Scotland. We will be back.

Review 17:This is a simply outstanding place to stay. It is beautifully decorated and furnished and supremely comfortable - sumptuous bed, down pillows, top quality bed linen, etc. We very much appreciated all the extra touches in our room, such as fresh flowers, chocolates, and Highland Park whisky (my husband's favourite!) and, of course, the delicious cakes and coffee on arrival. Evelyn is the perfect hostess, warm and welcoming and very attentive to her guests' comfort. We would take a sizeable detour to stay here again, and would heartily recommend it to anyone else.

Review 18:My husband and I had a lovely overnight stay at No 9. The owner Evelyn couldn't have been more accommodating. On arrival she brought us lovely tea and coffee and some home bakes to the residents lounge (snug). Our bedroom at the front of the property had lovely views of the cathedral. Evelyn also kindly recommended a few places for dinner, the one we chose being very good. Everything is of the best quality from the furnishings to the bedding. The breakfast selection is also of a very high standard with all produce locally sourced and very good quality. Thank you to everyone who recommended No 9 on this site. I cant recommend this B&B highly enough. We will definitely be back.

Review 19:The stay was very comfortable and relaxing. The B&b is an excellent property and host Evelyn is a very nice and helpful lady. We really had a good time and were well taken care of.

Review 20:A really lovely experience in a beautifully decorated period house. Evelyn was a warm and welcoming hostess. A generous and extensive breakfast menu, delicious and locally sourced. The small thoughtful touches of tea and a home bake on arrival, and a small whiskey before bed, were most welcome after a long journey. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon.

Review 21:Nothing at all

Review 22:This was the perfect B and B, in our opinion. It is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and full of interesting books and objects. The provision of drinks and a TV lounge was great for us as a family. Breakfast was a real highlight. Evelyn is welcoming and informative. Thanks to her, we found a good place to eat and saw seals and Ospreys on the next section of our journey. Fantastic! Thank you, Evelyn. We'll be back!

Review 23:None

Review 24:Host was so friendly and greeted us with afternoon tea on our arrival. Special touches like slippers and body moisturiser in the bathroom set this apart from other b&b's.

Review 25:Nothing

Review 26:Our host was welcoming and friendly from the start. She provided all the comforts we needed and a few more we hadn't thought of. A delightful stay.

Review 27:Everything. Best we have ever stayed in. The decor was really lovely, Evelyn most welcoming, beautiful bed linen on most comfortable bed and excellent breakfast. All in all 10 out of 10.

Review 28:The gracious proprietor, Evelyn, couldn't be more welcoming! She has created the ultimate B&B - warm and inviting, modern with traditional touches (love the antique furniture & beautifully and creatively decorated interiors) and cozy with all the conveniences of a larger establishment. Breakfast was exemplary. We can hardly wait for our next visit!

Review 29:You can't say anything bad braise there was nothing bad about this wonderful b&b

Review 35:Bacon was tough at breakfast

Review 36:Rooms and beds were large and very comfortable. Wonderful mix of newdecor and fittings (the shower was big). We particularly enjoyed seeingold Scottish pieces and soft furnishings decorating No 9 eg a largesporran as a tie back. We had the use of a small kitchen with tea andcoffee making facilities, a good selection of teas and biscuits and aTassimo coffee machine. A cosy snug was provided, with a wood burningstove though too warm to light it up, to enjoy our coffee (wine!) in.Breakfast had a wonderful selection especially the fruit compote. No 9is in the centre of Dornoch, a small historic village, right oppositethe cathedral. There are many good restaurants (Luigi's), gift shops(The Jail) and hotels within walking distance. Countryside and sea viewsare fantastic and memorable and the golf course is utterly superb. Woulddefinitely go back!
