Reviews for Red Lion House

Review 1:There was nothing not to like.

Review 2:We had an excellent room, far bigger than we expected, 2 windows, very nice decor, a great shower. Also there was a car park.Altogether a very pleasurable experience. We were also surprised to be able to book a double room for just 1night.

Review 3:- nothing

Review 4:- The place is very confortable, sleep really well. - The breakfast was delicious - Joanna is very hospitalary, very nice and always make you feel like at home , making very confortable all the stay.

Review 5:I received an exceptional level of service from the owners of Red Lion House, I have never felt more welcome and accommodated. The en-suite room had excellent facilities, was spacious, and comfortable and I slept well. The breakfast was of a high standard and nothing was too much trouble. A thoroughly enjoyable stay!

Review 6:The road noise is audible, but not a problem if you're used to traffic or if you stayed a few nights as you'd acclimatise to it.

Review 7:Lovely hosts, very friendly and helpful. Kindly took me back to the train station at the end of my stay. Very comfy bed and tasty breakfast. Put the heater on for me when I was back late so I wasn't cold when I got in - very thoughtful.

Review 8:The rooms were lovely and we were made to feel very welcome. The breakfast was delicious! We liked that we had our own key to come and go as we pleased. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Review 9:Some might not like the location (directly on the A590) but the double glazed windows take away that potential discomfort. I would have preferred an en suite room but i had direct personal access to my own toilet/bathroom across the landing with a key so it wasn't a major problem.

Review 10:The couple who run The Red Lion can't do enough for their customers. I felt as i though i was a friend the way i was treated. They gave me details of a local place to eat and 7.00 am breakfast wasn't a problem as i was off working early. A lovely, clean, friendly place where i wouldn't hesitate in re-booking.

Review 11:Absolutely nothing.

Review 12:Extremely welcoming and always willing to help with anything. Very nice breakfast freshly made for whatever time you need. The owners also let me use their washing machine and cooking facilities as I was there for some time. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Review 13:Nothing, really!. There could be a slight difficulty in getting out into the road during 'rush hour', but this was short-lived, and not a problem.

Review 14:Warm welcome from Jo Barker; very comfortable and warm well-equipped bedroom, which was appreciated as weather was poor.

Review 15:We were the only guests and managed to park our car off road but this could have been a challenge. This property is on a busy road and you can hear traffic

Review 16:Quality of room and breakfast The warm welcome

Review 17:Extremely friendly and welcoming hosts who on arrival readily helped solve a seemingly minor problem (NOT related to the accommodation!) without hesitation.

Review 18:The close proximity to the road meant that the room was occasionally quite noisy.

Review 19:Bathroom was enormous. The fact that it was across the hall made little difference. WiFi signal was excellent, the breakfast was very good and the two owners were very attentive.

Review 20:Cant fault this place at all

Review 21:Absolutely loved it. Staff very friendly and nice. Firat time going to a b&b and it was an excellent first experience. Rooms are lovely and homely. Very clean. Full english in the morning was great.

Review 22:Nothing in particular -- all round a good deal and perceived value for money

Review 23:The people --owners The other guests The quality of the fixtures and fittings Cleanliness Homely atmosphere yet purposeful and efficient Parking off the main road

Review 24:The only drawback for us was we had to drive to eat out. (Although the pub next door "The Miners Arms" have a new landlord that will be doing meals in the near future)

Review 25:The house was immaculately clean and very comfortable, the breakfast was good we had a choice of cereal, a full English breakfast, yogurt and a fresh pot of tea and coffee. Jo and Eric the hosts were very friendly and most welcoming nothing too much trouble. We would definitely recommend this B&B as we intend to return.

Review 26:Nothing to complain about.

Review 29:Lovely B and B, Joanne and Eric a lovely couple. Rooms exceptional. Spotlessly clean, Comfy beds, Tea and Coffee making facilities, Breakfasts Excellent, Great place to stay in a great location.

Review 30:The exit from the car park is onto a side road, which immediately leads on to the main road. This is a blind corner which could perhaps benefit from a mirror to allow vision of oncoming traffic. I decided it was safer to turn left and then turn round further up the road.

Review 31:We were made to feel very welcome on arrival and showed to a beautiful room with en-suite facilities. A side door meant we were able to come and go without disturbing the owners. Very comfy bed and a good night's sleep even though the room overlooked the main Barrow road. Delicious cooked breakfast next morning. Off road parking. Excellent value.

Review 32:There was nothing we didn't like! Everything was fabulous! Some people with very light sleep might be bothered by traffic when leaving the window open at night time.

Review 33:We enjoyed our stay very much!!Eveything was great! The hosts are absolutely lovely! Highly recommending this B and B !

Review 34:If one had to 'nit-pick' it would be on the following bases: - location is just off a quite busy road - there are no public rooms available for guest-use.

Review 35:I felt really at home here. The room was very ample, well accommodated and maintained to a very high standard. Breakfast was freshly-prepared and appealing. Joanna & Eric are delightful hosts.

Review 36:Nothing to dislike, it was the perfect base for our trip to the Lakes.

Review 82:Everything ! The owners went the extra mile to make our stay perfect

Review 83:Slightly creaking bed each time you moved and the bedroom walls are a bit thin as you could hear most of the conversation from the people in the next room. Minor things really. Faultless otherwise.

Review 84:The accommodation is spotless with great owners. 1 mile from the town centre with free parking. Once the pub next door opens it will make this an even better place to be at. Made to feel most welcome.

Review 88:We stayed here for the K2B walk and nothing was too much trouble for the owners. A lovely B&B with excellent facilities and immaculately clean. The breakfast was delicious too.

Review 89:Great welcome and helpful hosts. V good about storing our bikes and with advice about places to eat in Ulverston. Only about half a mile from the w2w cycle route and there's a quiet back road into town.

Review 90:Nothing!

Review 91:Everything about the B&B was fantastic. We had a very warm welcome and felt relaxed from the moment we set foot inside. The breakfast was excellent and the room and facilities were top notch!

Review 92:Only concern is shared table for breakfast. It worked well with us but not sure how we would have felt staying with less convivial fellow travellers.

Review 93:Very friendly, clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast with high quality food. 2 km outside Ulverston so easy to park. Cab fare is only £4 if you want to avoid walking into Ulverston.

Review 94:My Sat Nav took me to completely the wrong location. Apparently the RedLion's own website gives directions and tells you not to follow yoursat nav. The booking.com website says nothing about this. Thebooking.com website also said I didn't have to pay a deposit andcould change my reservation up until 24 hours before I was due to stay. This was also incorrect. The Red Lion contacted me a few days after Imade my reservation (by email) requesting a £20 deposit which was non-refundable. I'm not sure if that was because I was staying over theChristmas period (27-29 Dec) or if that is always required.

Review 95:My "private" bathroom was huge! Very clean, too.

Review 96:The room was nicely sized, lovely and homely, and very clean. Very comfortable. The owners are lovely people. Would stay there any time. Highly recommend it.
