Review 1：Everything was perfect! Vivian was very kind and welcoming. The room was amazing, clean and stylish! All staff members were polite and always available.

Review 2：I didn't like that I paid more than double for an alternative room since the room I ordered is a choked basement that is not suitable for staying. The crew was very polite and behaved as they were really trying to help me, but then again I wonder how come we got into that situation in the first place. There should be a clarification about the basement room including proper pictures that shows there is only a very small window for air, especially when the price is 60 euros for that kind of room (other hotels give better rooms for much less). Bottom line, depite the kindness of the hosting crew, I felt deceived.

Review 3：The alternative room that I got was very good, comfortable and felt prestige (which wasn't needed in my case), the crew was nice and very polite although not reliable.

Review 4：There seemed to be a shortage of staff so the service was a bit poor for the 150 euros a night. We encountered problems getting picked up( they forgot), picking up our left luggage, getting dropped off at the port and even trying to get a second cup of coffee at breakfast , there was never anyone to be found on site.

The owners are lovely people, very helpful, offering us a lift to town or beaches.Our room was well designed, contemporary but with a Cycladic influence, a breathtaking view of mountains and a lovely terrace over looking a new pool, thoughtfully designed gardens. Breakfast is good with lots of choice.we were sad to leave and this was our favourite from our island hopping holiday!

Review 17：Portes Hotel is a small, cozy, quiet hotel, the ideal place to live relaxation. It is very well located, very close to beautiful sandy beaches and to the centre (chora). Perfect spot. The view from the colorful (due to boukamvilies) balconies and the pool is so wonderful, that makes you not want to go anywhere. Very nicely decorated rooms, in Cycladic style, comfortable and always very clean. The service was top notch with very polite staff and the host, willing to help and organize everything for us. Would heartily recommend it. Stayed late June 2015, travelled as a couple.

Review 19：The location. In between the gorgeous beach of Finikas and a short evening stroll into the town.. Easily achieved even with children aged 4 and 6. The fresh breakfast. Especially the homemade honey and jams. The quality of accommodation. The owners and staff are extremely helpful, kind and generous.

Review 22：Fantastic location within a short walk of the town and the beaches. Breakfast was wonderful, freshly prepared and served on a tray each morning. Staff were really friendly and very helpful, we were given a lift to and from the port for no charge. Room was spotless and typically Greek but with a modern touch (no shower curtains sticking to you!) It's a beautiful island and we couldn't think of a better place to stay, it was fabulous!

Review 24：Our room was at the basement - about 13 steps down the earth - but there was plenty of light in the room because of the window. The yard was under construction but there was a place were you can have your breakfast and spend some time in the afternoon. Maybe the price was a little bit higher than what we expected but during the high season it is very difficult to find a room in Koufonisia.

Review 30：Loved the accommodation - we had a suite with our two teen boys and were happy to find our bedroom with both a patio door and door separating our room:) We did not have beach towels and they very kindly lent us some. Delicious breakfast delivered to room. Fridge and tea/coffee making available but need to bring your own tea and coffee. Fabulous bathroom.

Review 31：A real bargain in terms of its quality/price ratio and 15min walking away from the port. Personalized breakfast on their beautiful terrace - what a joy! Very, very clean and brand new plus, importantly to us, with a coherent aesthetic: no bric-a-brac, no chipboard closets and beds, no leaking pipes. In short, nothing reminding one of the deplorable rooms-to-let approach often encountered in the Cyclades.

Review 57：Had an excellent 4 night stay at Portes Houses. We arrived shortly after 8am and were met at the Port and driven to the property. On arrival we were offered coffee and this arrived with some delicious cake. The room was wonderful. Large airy very tastefully decorated and the huge terrace had a fabulous view over the sea towards Keros island. A great place to sit and relax! The property is a 10 minute walk from Chora where there is a good selection of tavernas and restaurants all serving wonderful fresh food. If you walk the other way you are soon met with sandy beach after sandy beach each more idyllic than the last! A true paradise.

Review 60：Super-holiday, we would really like to come back. Nice and quiet surroundings and although Koufonissi isn't that big they picked us up from the port and also brought our luggage to the port when we had to take another superjet. And Stella, you are very talented and the perfect host. 9/10

Review 61：The service was excellent, beautiful view, short walk to the beaches. The owners met us at the port to pick us up even though our ferry was 2 hrs late. Breakfast was always served on my balcony in the morning. The last 2 mornings breakfast would just appear without my ordering it. They had gotten used to my choice of breakfast and the time that I would wake up. The staff always made themselves accommodating to whatever need I had and never hesitated to answer any of the never ending questions that I had. I will book there again if I ever get a chance to return.

The homemade breakfast was excellent and has nothing to do withthe uploaded photo at their web site. Overall, it's a highlyrecommended hotel!

Review 63：Brand new hotel, excellent linen and comfortable mattresses, generally marvelous design that matches in every detail with the environment of Koufonisi island! We stayed 8 nights at the semi-basement room, which is a real value for your money, since it offers exactly the same facilities as the ground floor rooms in almost 1/3 of the price! We payed only 360 Euro for 8 nights in high season, including an excellent breakfast served personally in a terrace with a breathtaking view to the sea. The semi- basement rooms are naturally cool and give you the feeling of an oasis of coolness in the heat of the summer! I would highly recommend them! I would also describe the location of the hotel as perfect as it combines privacy and quietness, is very close to magnificent beaches, and also only 10 minutes by walk to the center of Koufonisi!! The hotel is run by a family that maked us feel at home from the first moment, since they welcomed us with traditional sweets, offered us free bicycles and a goodbye traditional present! The best and most relaxing vacation we ever had!!

You have to walk down about 15 steps to go to a basement-room with no light, no sun and of course no view. But there is an LCD/Plasma TV! Probably to see the sea from the screen… For whom are those rooms made for? It could be nice hotel with good reviews, but the basement rooms, the high price, the long distance from the main town and the lack of services (air-condition) do not allowed you for...

It is located about 7-8 minutes by foot from the main village, making it even closer to the best beaches, a bonus! The rooms are modern, clean, well finished and spacious, with all the amenities that you'll need for an island holiday. The family owners were exceptionally friendly and helpful, making the stay very enjoyable. Breakfast was a real bonus on the lovely outdoor terrace. We enjoyed our stay at Portes Houses very much.
