Reviews for B - Simply Rooms
Review 1:The only downside was trying to find the place - we got to the right area, but had to run around the houses in the dark and rain to find the right door number. Once we found it, it was fine though!!
Review 2:We stayed at B on New Year's Eve as some friends had organised a dinner for the evening in a local pub. We couldn't have asked for much more with the room - the owner was really helpful with directions, the room was so warm, modern and clean, and we could park right outside our window! I was hoping for a nice space as my other half and I hadn't seen one another in a month and we were so happy with the venue.
Review 3:Modern, clean room with everything you need. Johnny the owner was friendly and very helpful - had great tips and recommendations. Excellent value for money
Review 4:Great value modern new apartment very reasonably priced and very friendly welcome by the owner (Johnny). Good size room and the fact that no breakfast is provided didn't worry us - short walk only to nearby cafes.
Review 5:The apartment is very well located. The staff were competent and friendly. The facilities were pristine as well as beautifully designed. A very modern apartment.
Review 6:As Jonny warned, the shower head is a little sensitive to hot and cold.
Review 7:Jonny was very friendly and gave us excellent tips. The rooms are very new, comfortable and warm inside.
Review 8:Being told that breakfast was available at nearby cafes from 8am when it was actually 8.30.
Review 9:The convenience of being able to walk to all the neighbouring amenities
Review 10:Location was superb within 2 min walk to square. Very peaceful and laid back. Bourton on the water,Bibury & coteold wildlife park all 20 mins away.
Review 11:Nice spacious room, quiet location but close to the town. Exceptionally clean and very accommodating regarding check-in / out. Easy to get breakfast nearby.
Review 12:Ground floor bedroom window overviewed by anyone passing needs some consideration
Review 13:All as described and would have been perfect if a little cheaper for room only. The cleaner, who was staying next door, was very friendly and helpful.
Review 14:It was very close to town, but in a quiet neighborhood. Very spacious rooms that were very clean and comfortable. Nice sized bathroom. Wifi was great. We would recommend this place.
Review 15:Room not prepared as mentioned above was fixed to our satisfaction and staff were great.
Review 16:Very comfy bed and room. Located in a beautiful town. Staff were very good was a problem with room preparation at first but staff fixed and were wonderful about it and really looked after us thanks!
Review 17:Stay wasn't long enough.
Review 18:Absolutely wonderful room and attention from the owners. Excellent location in the village with handy car parking. Highly recommended.
Review 19:Nothing.
Review 20:Location 150 yards from center of town. Modern clean facility. Jon was very accommodating. Quiet location. No breakfast. Full tub and shower Highly recommend for Stow On The Wold.
Review 21:The weather was nice so going out for breakfast didn't matter but wouldn't like to have to do it in bad weather
Review 22:Nicely appointed and comfortable and convenient for the centre of Stow
Review 23:bed was a little too hard for me but we only stayed a couple of nights
Review 24:nice walk to town very clean no problems with hot water plenty complimentry tea/coffee ect facilities lovely spacious room
Review 25:Arrived late for check in which was no problem and owner was very friendly. Room really spacious when considering the internet presence was not expected. The photo's on the internet do not do justice to this lovely room
Review 26:Check in procedure is unorthodox, so read the fine print. But we had no problem.
Review 27:Modern, clean room. Quiet. Easy walk to central part of town. The host Jonny was easy going and very accommodating.
Review 28:A very friendly host who gave some great tips. Located a 5 min walk to the centre of town. Not a "rustic" stay with exposed beams etc. but the modern rooms have a tasteful design. Overall a great base for travelling around. Free easy parking.
Review 29:Sockets near the mirror would be a more sensible.
Review 30:Smart, modern rooms, great value, easy access to lovely cafes in village, as room only. Fridge/ freezer shared with other rooms. Quiet, comfortable. Highly recommended.
Review 31:The soundproofing is poor. We were waken up by the female's moaning from next room.
Review 32:The environment around the house is nice and quiet. The room is spacious and clean.
Review 33:It's room only so no breakfast available but it was nice to try out different cafes nearby so wasn't a problem for us. Jonny suggested great places to eat.
Review 34:Ideal location just 2 minute walk to town centre so left car in drive. Huge bedroom and large ensuite bathroom both clean and modern. Also fridge in hall for use of guests which was really handy.
Review 35:Missed having a Breakfast served at the Inn-otherwise was a great place to stay.
Review 36:As advertised the rooms were modern new construction which was a welcome change from the dated B & Bs common to England we had otherwise stayed in. Loved the real neighborhood feel & the interesting short stroll into the village of Stow on the Wold. We highly recommend this Inn & would stay here again.
Review 37:Tried to book on the return journey sadly booked up owner runs a local pub which is a friendly place for a chat with the locals and a nice meal and pint. No breakfast facility means you can have a lazy start to the day and five minute walk into the centre of the town for breakfast Already planning a return trip.
Review 38:Jonny (the owner) was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. He provided a list of taxi numbers so we could attend a wedding in the next village and allowed us an extra hour to recover the next day!
Review 39:Great central location in the Cotswold's. Johnny was a tremendous help with recommendations for Breakfast and must-see places. The rooms were spacious, very comfortable and modern. His Pub (Queens Head) had a wonderful atmosphere, food, and ales.
Review 40:There was nothing we did not like
Review 41:We were travelling with our two teenage children who stayed in the room next door to ours. Both rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. Jonny also provided a full size refrigerator right outside our door with ice and amenties available to us. He was also very friendly and knowledgeable about the area.
Review 42:Noise from other rooms - plumbing etc. no breakfast and nowhere to get any breakfast before 8.30. But use of a fridge was v helpful.
Review 43:Clean and very comfortable. Nice design and decor.
Review 44:The hotel was in a quant village. The owner was lovely and very knowledgable of the area. He suggested two great places to eat and was very helpful and friendly. The hotel rooms were tastefully decorated and comfortable.
Review 45:Comfortable retreat just out of the heart of the village. Large rooms, Comfortable bed and pillows, excellent little extras like tea and coffee, little snacks. Wifi excellent. Short walk into the village for meals.
Review 46:Lack of any counter space in bathroom meant nowhere to set a toiletries/shaving kit. Even a small stool would be a welcome addition.
Review 47:Room was clean and quiet. Very central location. Host was very personable.
Review 48:Johnny is so friendly and easygoing! He welcomed us into his B and B and offered local knowledge for us to explore the Cotswolds. The room was a good size, very clean. The location was perfect!
Review 49:patio not finished - this will be a real feature when completed and will be so relaxing - not real clear about where to go to find Queens Head or Arm Pub, maybe a map would be better then written explanation
Review 50:Clean - new - host most helpful - economical
Review 51:Absolutely nothing!
Review 52:The location of "B" is perfect. Just a short walk to the centre of Stow. The rooms are excellent with everything you need. A little gem that I was so glad I found. Highly recommend it!
Review 53:A terrific spacious bedroom, modern and attractive; great bathroom with a bath. Jonnie's organisation was thoughtful and efficient. Outstanding accommodation.
Review 54:One tiny thing I missed was a bath but that is specific to me and many people wouldn't be bothered by this at all, so barely a complaint!
Review 55:Beautifully decorated and kept rooms, lovely area and view from room 3. Great WiFi. Good service.
Review 56:We found bedbugs and the proprietor did not seem surprised when I mentioned this to him the following morning of our stay. Glad we only stayed one night. We have been traveling three weeks and this was our first experience with these night visitors !
Review 57:There isn't anything that we didnt like. I wasn't sure initially re there not being breakfast on offer, but that was fine as there were plenty of places to choose from in town.
Review 58:Although the location is a little unusual (on a pretty private housing estate), the location is great (2 mins & you are in the centre of town). Lovely rooms, simple, but very comfy accomodation. Jonny is also very helpful.
Review 59:as we'd never been to the cotswolds before, location was key for us and this offered the perfect location just a 200m walk to the town square. Couldn't fault the place or the host
Review 60:The greeting and help we recieved when we arrived. The room was beautiful spotless, and a short walk to the centre of stow. We will certainly stay here again
Review 61:Bed was advertised on Booking as Superking - it was only a King and a bit on the soft side for my taste. The room was quite noisy, the sound proofing from the other rooms meant we could hear 'water works'... Taps being run, toilets being flushed. Not ideal if you're a light sleeper.
Review 62:Great location, nice big room. The owner Johnny was also very friendly.
Review 63:Only issue was that the walls are fairly thin: I think we were unlucky that the person next door had a loud voice, but we could hear their conversation.
Review 64:Lovely big rooms, tucked away out of the centre but a very quick walk to town. Jonny was a lovely host. Not having breakfast included worked well for us as we didn't have to decide in advance when we'd want to eat and got a nice lie in.
Review 65:Great location for Stow on the Wold, room was immaculate, parking facilities always a bonus. Would definitely recommend a visit if your not bothered about breakfast as this is room only. However, plenty of lovely places to eat at nearby.
Review 66:the room was absolutely fantastic for the price & its so close to the market square that you can walk everywhere & leave the car behind . to sum it up we loved it so much we are already planning on going back in the summer .
Review 67:What a lovely place this was! Stayed here with a group of friends so we had 3 rooms out of the 4 available. All lovely and spacious, clean and comfortable. Will definitely recommend! And stay again if I come back again :)
Review 68:We had a friendly welcome to our room and an early check in. The room was impeccably clean as was the lovely bathroom. The bed was super comfortable and the location nice and quiet.
Review 69:Nothing we can think of !!!!
Review 70:We stayed for just one night. We met by the very pleasant and helpful Jonnie, who could not have been nicer. The room he provided was extremely clean, light and airy. It was a little unusual in that it was a building connected to his home but it was done to such a high standard and was so close to the town centre. Parking was great there as it can be so congested in the centre. Lovely room and well worth visiting. We would deffinately use it again.
Review 71:Sound proofing could have been improved. I could hear someone snoring in another room! And when someone else used the shower the water went cold so it needed its own water source (?).
Review 72:Ideal location, modern and quirky decor, good facilities. Good advice on local amenities.
Review 73:No breakfast included in the room rate. There are a couple of places to eat but we didn't bother as didnt wat to go back to town. Even though there is no available space for a breakfast room, breakfast bought to the bedrooms at a specified time would be amazing!!!!
Review 74:The customer service was excellent, even on the day of arrival opening an email advising us on alternative routes to the B as there war road works. Fantastic.
Review 75:Nothing to complain about at all.
Review 76:Very close to centre of Stow - few minutes walk via sheep alleys to centre so convenient to shops, pubs and restaurants. House and room very clean with plentiful provisions of teas, coffees, biscuits etc. Plenty of hot water. Quiet cul de sac with very little street noise. Jonny was very obliging. As we're quite frequent visitors to Stow look forward to staying at 'B' again.
Review 77:We stayed for a friends wedding in the area. There were a few of us staying at B. It was a lovely place with a nice homey feel. Great showers as well! The owner is very friendly and very helpful and made us feel really welcome. Would definitely recommend it!
Review 78:Nothing!
Review 79:Really close to the town but away from any noise. Comfortable bed and good facilities with the fastest ever kettle to boil for that morning cuppa!
Review 80:Owner of the guest house, Johnny, was friendly and welcoming. The room had everything required for a short stay, Well positioned, lovely stay and I will be back for another.
Review 81:Needed a desk and chair for laptop use.
Review 82:Great location. Smart property done to a high spec. Biscuits and plenty of milk with coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Lovely big bed. Very impressive.
Review 83:I think in the Summer it is fine to go out for breakfast but in the Winter not so great.
Review 84:We liked the fact that we could easily walk into Stow and that we could leave the car in the parking area. We liked the big room and the comfy bed and the bathroom. All very modern and fresh. I have since bought a kettle like the one in the room . Very smart.
Review 85:Absolutely nothing!!!
Review 86:The owner (Johnny), was such a nice fella. He made us feel very comfortable. He owns a local pub, which was also excellent. The B&B was very modern, with excellent facilities and stylishly presented.
Review 87:The rooms were immaculate, and had everything you need, bed was comfy. The main town was a short stroll aaway, brilliant location, would definitely stay there again.
Review 88:Would be nice to have a small fridge in the room.
Review 89:Simple yet well finished rooms. Smart TV was a real bonus. Great location, really central. Couldn't fault anything about our visit.
Review 90:The only thing I would say, and this is completely from a personally perspective, that it would have been nice to have a little fridge in the room to keep things like milk, wine and snacks.
Review 91:This was in the best location, feels like home away from home, really comfortable warm large newly decorated rooms. Although breakfast is not included, there are so many lovely places to visit for breakfast in and around the town which for us personally, suits us best as it gets us up and out. The scenery is beautiful, plenty of parking and a stone-throws walk from everything you need. We didn't want to leave. The owner, Jonny, is the nicest chap I think I have ever met. Trustworthy, happy, friendly, chatty, bubbly, knowledgeable, informative and welcoming. His pub does the best food as well, we thoroughly enjoyed the meal there.
Review 92:Stayed at "B" with friends, very clean and in a good location. The owner was very helpful and pleasant to deal with, would highly recommend and we will return. No breakfast but good places in the town, and we did not have to rush to get up.
Review 93:Unable to open door to outside deck! Host was out of town and woman whowas taking his place was not helpful.
Review 94:Clean, comfortable room. Very modern and larger than your typicalEuropean room.
Review 95:Excellent Service from our host, who recommended places to eat, drink, visit etc. Fab Location; a very short walk from the main square. Off-street parking included. Extremely Comfortable, Large Bed. Quality Towels and Bed Linen. Lovely en-suite Shower-Room. Coffee, Tea and Biscuits provided. Great TV if you want to relax in the room. Hairdryer is supplied.
Review 96:No breakfast although easy to walk to cafes
Review 97:Large open room-great for someone over 6 feet tall unlike most European hotels. Close to Stow center with an easy walk.
Review 98:No fridge; no where to hang your good clothes. (could not call coat hooks ideal). No breakfast included. Other B&B's stayed at on our 3 week holiday provided breakfast at similar tariff.
Review 99:Location great, excellent parking, modern fresh design.
Review 100:Nothing
Review 101:Liked the thought that had gone into the room design, never felt that it was joined to a normal house, owner was a way, but neighbour was great and took the time to speak to us through out our stay, would definitely stay again.
Review 102:Everything. It's clean, spacious, a short walk from the town center. The lady running it the day we were there was unbelievably kind to us.
Review 103:We didn't want to leave. The bed was so comfy it made getting up in the morning very difficult. Amazing value for money, we will be returning next year.
Review 104:Would suggest that a small fridge would be a good idea.
Review 105:Quiet position but close to main square - pubs, coffee shops, cafes etc. Close proximity to other interesting villages and towns in the Cotswolds - bourton on the water, the slaughters. Lovely to have tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits.
Review 106:Lack of water pressure. It took ages to run a bath, water was nice and hot though. The only real problem was finding the accommodation on first arrival. As this is a Village it had lots of no through roads, little allies etc. however once we found 'B' it was well worth the ride round to find it.
Review 107:Spotless clean . It was rather cool so the warm welcome and the radiators being on was very pleasing..Quiet location. Plenty tea/coffee/ biscuits. Ample parking. Landlord easy to contact, helpful but unobtrusive . A short walk away you can find a number of pubs that sell a variety of hot cooked meals. Easy access to the rest of Cotswold Villages.
Review 108:could have done with a sofa in room which had ample space for one, maybe some outside seating to enjoy the afternoon/evening before heading into town.
Review 109:quality of room which was finished to a very high standard, short walk into town centre. good atmosphere in local area, felt very relaxing.
Review 110:Can't think of anything, really. Perhaps it would have helped to haveclearer directions for getting there once we were in Stow, but the mapon our phone got us there without too many wrong turns!
Review 111:Lovely room - very tastefully done with no clutter. Wonderfullycomfortable bed with cotton bedding! Warm welcome from Jonny but thenleft to get on with it which was nice. He was available if we neededhim. Nice view on to the garden. Quiet, All the amenities you wouldwant. Best B&B experience I have had - even without the breakfast! In fact if felt like less pressure because we could take care of our ownbreakfast when we wanted to. All in all - excellent!
Review 112:Had to chase the landlord to pay ! Had to visit his pub and give the money to an employee, with no receipt.
Review 113:Landlord very laidback, nothing too mmuch trouble and very helpful. Really close to the square of Stow but far enough for the quiteness wr wanted.
Review 114:Everything was lovely. Big comfortable room. The bed was so comfy with nice clean fresh smelling sheets. Good selection of biscuits and hot drinks. Nice friendly welcome.
Review 115:Stow is a pretty ordinary example of a Cotswold town. If you're looking for somewhere pretty, go to Chipping Camden - they've got thatched roofs as well as nicer shops. The room was comfy, the bed was good, but they give you a doona with no top sheet. So the doona is off and on all night because the doona is too hot and no doona is too cold.
Review 116:Nice room, close to the main square. The owner was friendly and helpful.
Review 117:Poor soundproofing with the plumbing from adjacent rooms particularly noisy. Puzzled as to why in a modern property there was no shaver socket to charge our electric toothbrush.
Review 118:Spacious room and simply decorated. Bed was very comfortable. Quiet area within walking distance of the main square. Easy parking.
Review 119:Nothing - all good
Review 120:Arrived at 8:30 want straight to The Talbot to find Jonny - ended up staying for dinner and drinks after which Jonny walked us home and let us in to the room, which was clean, modern and very comfortable.
