Reviews for The Manessi Hotel
Review 1:The best part of out stay was the gentleman on the front desk, we got in late so he left the keys out for us. Then in the morning he made us coffees and he was also quite humorous! Can't remember his name but he was a champ!! Cheers
Review 2:A very friendly staff, a clean and well-provisioned room with a great view, and ideal location. The room was small but satisfactory and it had a deck right over Poros's famous harbor.
Review 3:Despite what appears to be very recently refurbished decor (in the bathroom specifically), in our room it seemed to be somewhat worn, but given the great price, it is nothing to complain about.
Review 4:The view is nothing short of breathtaking! If you are in one of the front facing balcony rooms, you are literally on the water's edge!
Review 5:Didn't realise the entrance was up about 20 stairs.
Review 6:Very handy location to ferry. In sight 5 mins away. George's spoke good English and very helpful. Adjacent to all tavernas and small shops. Great area
Review 7:The sink had a issue and couldn't drain properly.
Review 8:Breakfast was nice and generous. Our bedroom was good, bed was comfortable, good TV and air conditioning.
Review 9:Beautiful property in a wonderful central location! Impeccably clean, the staff was very helpful and accommodating and amazing sunsets from the balcony.
Review 10:Minor detail - the shower curtain didn't reach the porcelain tray, so water leaked onto the floor - but in the heat it dried up very quickly
Review 11:Lovely views from our room - which was at the side of the building but still had its own balcony where you could sit and read (in the shade) and watch the boats coming and going. Glorious views. Lovely staff.
Review 12:Room was small and a little tired, the Hotel offered to move us after the first night but as only staying two night was fine. Couldn't have stayed in it for a week though.
Review 13:Good Hotel, well located, nice staff, clean room
Review 14:Poros harbour has shade in the morning and afternoon sun, which means too cold to enjoy balcony in morning and too hot in the afternoon. Not an issue for this specific hotel but for the whole harbour. But, Poros is very nice and highly recommended.
Review 15:The hotel location is outstanding, across the street from Hellenic Seaways (Flying Dolphins). Full harbour view from our balcony. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean.
Review 16:The location is superb. Central and amidst the buzz. Great restaurants nearby and a perfect spot to find your feet. When we moved on we left our lugguage there, popped in to use the toilet facilities and get ,more directions. They were very helpful. Its a little like a Greek faulty towers, full of character.
Review 17:The shower did not work so well, old fittings that sent water everywhere. Yachts and super yachts moor right outside and party all night so can get noisy. But in all fairness they do so on the whole waterfront. Would I sacrifice the view for less noise. NO.
Review 18:Excellent location, staff friendly, Wi-Fi good. The view is great, right on the waterfront. September was a good time to be there , a bit less busy.
Review 19:Only mild disappointment is that they no longer serve breakfast in the hotel.
Review 20:I had a large, quiet and very comfortable room. The bathroom (in 226) is also large, towels were changed regularly, the AC purred and the room has a balcony with chairs and a table.
Review 21:The bathroom was tiny & not well laid out. A sliding door would have made it a bit better! The sheets were too small for the bed, riding up during the night leaving you sleeping on the matress.
Review 22:The room was cool & comfortable.
Review 23:WiFi in lobby, but not in rooms. No lift and a bit of a climb from street to hotel entrance, then 2 flights of stairs with cases.
Review 24:Lovely balcony overlooking sea, sunset and berthed yachts. Clean and comfortable room. Excellent location. Convenient to cafes and shops. Not hard to locate - can easily be seen from ferry port on arrival and is a short walk to hotel.
Review 25:No in room Wifi - but available in lobby.
Review 26:Clean, comfortable and extremely convenient. The staff were very helpful and offered us relocation to a front room with a balcony, which was appreciated. The hotel can be seen from the ferry port and is easy to locate. It is a five minute walk from the ferry. In room airconditioning welcomed on hot days. Rooms are small but adequate.
Review 27:Shower fittings need some fixing (with new ones!)
Review 28:Great location.
Review 29:Reasonable,central Good facilities
Review 30:The location was fabulous, and I loved my little balcony. It was very clean and simple.
Review 31:nice location with animated neighborhood, great view from the room on the sea. really comfortable bed and clean place
Review 32:Location and friendliness of "George" who managed the hotel.
Review 33:The room had a small window and no balcony.
Review 34:A clean and fully renovated hotel right at the port of Poros.
Review 35:Hotel was in a great location to catch the water taxi or the bus to a variety of beaches. We had a beautiful view. Perfect for what we needed.
Review 36:Bra beliggenhet
Review 37:Great price, close to everything, friendly staff
Review 38:Country like room
Review 39:Εξαιρετικό σημείο για σύντομη απόδραση,στο κέντρο της χώρας.
Review 40:IT LOOKS LIKE OUR ROOM WAS IN THE CORNER OF THE HOTEL, AN SMALL WINDOW LOOKING TO AN OLD ABANDONED HOUSE.
Review 41:THE LOCATION
Review 42:The bathroom was very cold, but then it was an unusually cold spell.
Review 43:Friendly staff and location of the hotel right in the village
Review 44:The noise from the road and the bars especially at Saturday night until 5 a.m.
Review 45:Everything is perfect.Location,clean room,staff.
Review 46:No hot water for duration of stay No breakfast available No balcony room available although one has been booked No tea or coffee in room despite having kettle and cups No electrical socket for kettle or hairdryer nearby Gap between shower screen and tray causing flooding when used (for cold shower!) No lift Dirty stairs
Review 47:Position of hotel and modern style
Review 48:Steep steps up to the lobby. Considerable noise from a local band in one of the bars. Folks are entitled to have fun, but blaring away to 2:30 AM is inconsiderate. Not the hotel's fault, bur beware, especially on Saturday night.
Review 49:Front row center in Poros' delightful harbor. Nicely updated older hotel and very knowledgeable and welcoming hosts. Rooms are small, but have everything you need.
Review 50:Nothing at all
Review 51:The location and view were really excellent . What fantastic value for money. George was so helpful and polite. Can't wait to return.
Review 52:Nothing of note.
Review 53:George was very friendly and helpful upon arrival. Very modern and right on the port. Given a key for late night entry, though a porter for backup. Clean spacious rooms with all the comforts.
Review 54:Our northwest facing third floor balcony was overlooking the quay used by all the passenger ferries, so there is constant people-watching entertainment, but without the noise that might be present on a lower floor. The hotel was clean, and the staff were very pleasant. We were very satisfied with our two nights there.
Review 55:Excellent hotel, best location in Poros. Excellent restaurant below Manessi Hotel. Lovely balcony with stunning view. Best value hotel in Poros or any other Greek island.
Review 56:There was nothing to complain about, décor is good, clean and modern.
Review 57:Staff were very friendly and helpful. In the end we had a problem where they forgot to give my passport back and I forgot to ask for it. They arranged a taxi to rush it to the airport and I just made my flight. They handled this excellently, well done.
Review 58:Room (230) a bit small. A room for two persons should have at least two comfort chairs. This room had only one chair - and it was not much comfort about it. So - obviously - my wife had to constantly stay on her feet - or sit on the bed ;-((
Review 59:Almost everything. Especially a very friendly staff.
Review 60:The staff were amazing! There was a ferry strike from Athens to Poros and I received an email from the owner telling me how to get to the Island so our holiday wasn't ruined. Everything was absolutely fabulous - location, cleanliness, price, people.
Review 61:great location, right off the boat disembarkation point. that's where all the restaurants, cafes and stores are. clean and quiet and very helpful lady at the front desk helped us with directions and restaurant recs (try Spiliada!!!).
Review 62:We had an alley view room (which was as per booking, so no issue) but there were pigeons roosting on the balcony opposite which was a bit off putting.
Review 63:We were Island hopping and the location just opposite the port was fantastic as we could check in and see what Poros had to offer. The rooms were above average for the price paid and staff were excellent.
Review 64:The location of the Manessi Hotel is superb, with wonderful views fromthe balcony. No better place to drink an evening Ouzo and watch thesunset. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are any numberof great restaurants, bars and tavernas within a short walk of thehotel. Anyone who likes fresh fish, octopus, calamari and traditionalGreek food look no further. As I write this I realise what a greatholiday we've just had. As the man said, we shall return.
Review 65:Room a little small, but well equiped and comfortable
Review 66:Nice hotel in a prime location overlooking the sea and Galatas. Goodbreakfast served on balcony with superb view. Breakfast cost circa 6Euros each not the 20 Euros quoted on this website
Review 67:a little run down and impersonal decoration.
Review 68:very convenient location as close to the ferry port as you can be. Recommended as a stop over to connect with ferry
Review 69:The staff at the manessi hotel went above and beyond to provide anassistance that was needed during our sat with them. The location of thehotel is also perfect, being one minute from where the ferry drops youoff, fantastic!
Review 70:WiFi is present but not a very strong signal.
Review 71:Excellent situtation right at the arrival of all the ferrys andsurrounded by the port and restaurants.
Review 72:The staff were very politely and helpful, the atmosphere very cheerfull. Don´t miss to enjoy the breakfast at your balcony with a view to the habour as a special service ot the hotel.
Review 73:Since the hotel is located on a hillside there are some 15 steps toreach the entrance. This makes it difficult for a person in awheelchair. Other than this I cant see one reason not to like the hotel.
Review 74:This hotel is one of the best (if not the best) "value for money"-hotels Ive stayed in, in Greece. And since Ive been to over 15 islandsin Greece I have a few to compare with.Location is perfect, just some 50-100 meters from where the Flying Dolphins from Pireus stop. Close to everything (=buses to the beaches, restaurants, bars and the Clock Tower) in the small town of Poros. Rooms are really clean and comfortable with AC and have tv with international channels. Staff are excellent! VERY helpful and will do everything they can to help you during your visit. I spent 4 days in Poros but by mistake only booked the first two nights at the Manessi. And this during the absolute high season. However, when I arrived I told the staff that if possible Id like to stay another two nights and they sorted this out within 24 hours. I recommend any person travelling to Poros to stay at the Manessi. It dont get much better than this for the prices they ask. If I return to Poros (still have a few other islands to discover first) I most certainly will stay at the Manessi again.
Review 75:The Entrance is 2 flights of outdoor stairs from street level, 19 and 8,the second of marble which can be very slippy with no handrail. This wasnot made plain and I was recovering from 3 foot Operations. It wasextremely difficult and painful at the start of our Holiday but with thehelp of the Staff and my friends, by the end I was able to negotiatethem with alacrity. It should however, be made plain that this is thecase, in case older / injured Guests have mobility problems.
Review 76:It's location is excellent as a base forr Island Hopping. RegrettablyHellenic Seaways are having problems and constantly change theirtimetable. Ferries are few from |Poros [1 a day] and the Cats andDolphins which serve most of the Islands in the chain are fully enclosedwhich spoilts the 'cruising' quality of being at Sea.
Review 77:Bathrooms are uncomfortable and not very clean beds move around
Review 78:Located right in the center of Poros island easy access to shops, restaurants, ferry extremely friendly staff stunning sea views frombalcony wi-fi throughout the hotel great value for money
Review 79:Nice little hotel run by a family from Poros, very clean, excellent helpand care from the staff - lovely view from our room, with a balcony.Great location, just a few feet away from the Dolphin ferry landing.
Review 80:Perfect location with view of yachts and mountains in background
Review 81:The location of the hotel is excellent for all ameneties and was excellent value for money. The staff were curteous and nothing was too much trouble.
Review 82:Having to leave.
Review 83:Location is brilliant. Front facing rooms are brilliant. Staff are lovely.
Review 84:Nothing
Review 85:Great port location, friendly staff
Review 86:the staff where very helpful and friendly. They spent time talking to us about the island and what it had to offer.
Review 87:Walking up three flights of stairs when it was very hot
Review 88:Superb location
Review 89:It can be noisy at nights
Review 90:Stuff great location the rooms are new and the viw to the port fantastic
Review 91:Immaculate modern facilities for a budget hotel. Right on the port near many restaurants
Review 92:Staff very helpful and always very friendly. Made you feel at home.
Review 93:Small room, showerheads needs to be fixed
Review 94:Great location, friendly staff, great balcony
Review 95:Excellent, helpful, and friendly staff!
