Reviews for Victoria House B&B
Review 1:Just that the toilet rolls disappeared really quickly as it was a shared washroom.
Review 2:Nice accommodation & good access to Creiff & the host was very helpful.
Review 3:Room quite dark due to four poster bed. Breakfast not great - small selection, unseasoned eggs and no salt and pepper. No communal living area to relax in.
Review 4:Great location, close to town and Crieff is a great base for walks. The bed was comfy and room was clean. Nice staff, clear communications.
Review 5:Lovely Victorian feel to the place with plenty of space in the room. The bed was great very comfortable and huge! Real easy access to the city including a grocery store almost next door. Breakfast was good and brought direct to your room.
Review 6:Checkout was 10am. 3 times the owner roared that we had to check out. Weleft at 10.25am...normally there is a little lee way especially as checkout was very early but the owner was very cranky and wanted us out onthe dot. Made out she was happy to take our money and once the stay wasover please feck off. It spoilt what was an otherwise nice stay
Review 7:Very comfy bed, staff was initally friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast
Review 8:Wish there was a full shower, but not a big deal.
Review 9:The house was very comfortable, clean and well maintained. The location was great too, with free parking.
Review 10:The downside was there was a lot of stairs could have done with a proper shower as it was over the bath no curtain or slip mat and breakfast was only served in your room we are a couple 80 & 82 would suit younger group
Review 11:Good breakfast lovely hoist and very comfortable bed plenty tea and coffee available
Review 12:The Victoria house was absolutely beautiful, the interior and rooms actually took my breath away, the lady was so welcoming and friendly, loved everything about this place
Review 13:No common area; breakfast only available in our rooms. Only instant coffee in rooms.
Review 14:Beautifully restored building. Stunning rooms with great facilities. Huge bath, massive TV, giant comfy bed.
Review 15:Slight smell of smoke within the room.
Review 16:The lady who owned the property was very friendly. The room was lovely, bed was very comfy and breakfast was out this world !
Review 17:No full English breakfast which was advertised. Extremely rude host when questioned about this. When told we were not staying for our 2nd night she told us she would call the police.
Review 18:Not having to stay for more than one night
Review 19:The breakfast was terrible. It was served in the room and consisted of yogurt cornflakes and two cakes. No one could be satiated. The room was very dusty and the mirrors needed to be polished.
Review 20:Great B & B with a very sweet hostess. The room was fantastic and within walking distance of the main street. BUT.
Review 21:Shower at side of bath on taps, Would have preferred overhead shower.High step into bath. Would not suit anyone with mobility problems as many stairs up to room
Review 22:Quiet,spacious room and King size comfortable bed. Very clean and tasteful décor. On suite bathroom large. Very good breakfast. Owner very friendly and attentive.
Review 23:Personally I don't like sharing breakfast table with strangers but that's just my preference, the dining room was lovely and the breakfast was nice
Review 24:Loved the Victoria room it was so tastefully done and the bed is AMAZING!! Great welcoming place to stay and would Most definitely recommended it!
Review 25:Didn't feel welcomed in the house or made to feel at home. Staff could have been more accommodating
Review 26:The b&b rooms are beautiful and make for a luxurious stay
Review 27:Unfortunately we had a shared bathroom, not ideal! Also although the other guests there were lovely, I wasn't really comfortable about us all sitting at one big table for breakfast, I would've preferred a table for two.Fresh fruit (maybe) apart from this breakfast was lovely as was the service!
Review 28:Staff were very friendly, room was gorgeous as was the whole house! The fact you also had your own key and were able to come and go as you liked was an added bonus! Location for all amenities was fabulous. Really enjoyed ourselves!
Review 29:Absolutely stunning decor, very friendly atmosphere. We all felt right at home. If i am ever in creff i will definitely be booking in again. I would highly recommend the Victoria House B&B
Review 30:No face cloths & could be doing with more towels.
Review 31:Amazing room with huge comfortable bed and huge tv,couldn't have asked for a better sleep! Owner of the B&B is lovely very friendly and helpful.
Review 32:Digital tv didn't have all channels. Thick dust on chandelier A constant droning from heating I imagine. Was very warm and windows didn't open enough for fresh air. Wifi I used the password on about 4 different sky connections and it worked with one and I couldn't get it to work . Wouldnt load page. Also in the area if ur 02 u can't get data . Or its very slow . But not all bad negatives
Review 33:Beds were big and comftable Big clauset Plenty lighting Plesent host Goodb options for breakfastt Clean towels and plenty hot water
Review 34:There were too many smells. Too much fragrance in the bedroom and bathroom and a bit too many pillows as well. For people who are sensitive to odors, it is a bit overwhelming. (that was why i rated cleanliness at fair) As a suggestion, breakfast could be improved with just a little fresh fruit and some hearty bread. For people who have diet restrictions, there wasn't a lot of choice outside the typical Scottish breakfast especially if you were on a plant based diet.
Review 35:The owner was exceptionally nice and it was clear from the condition of the room and the little extras in the room that she cared that people had a good experience in her house. And her new born baby was as quiet as a mouse.
Review 36:No ensuite so although there was a lovely bath I would have been anxious about soaking in it as we shared the bathroom with several people. The breakfast could have been better - we had instant coffee and no fresh fruit.
Review 37:The unusual rather 'stately' nature of the way the building had been renovated. It was like a high class hotel with grand rooms and four-poster beds. The big beds were luxurious and the candelabras magnificent. The dining room was grand too!
Review 38:1. Room was filled with furniture with no purpose; 2. Only one chair in the room; 3. Continental breakfast had very little choice, no fruit and bread for toast was still in the plastic bag; 4. Bath towels were very small and not changed - even when we left towels in the bath tub on the second morning, we returned in the afternoon to find that they had been hung back on the rails; 5. Bed almost needed a step-ladder to get into.
Review 39:Spacious room with en-suite; cooked breakfast was okay.
Review 40:breakfast was alright but only white bread, no fruit, no herb teas. Too much stuff in the rooms, boudoir style, sort of fun but not really me. No tourist information.
Review 41:Value for money. Bed was amazingly comfy.
Review 42:Nothing!!!!
Review 43:This was a wonderful find in Crieff! We have stayed at the Hydro and Knock Castle before but decided this time to try a slightly cheaper option - great idea!! This was a wonderful bed and breakfast. Absolutely spotless and quite stunningly decorated in Victorian style. The bed was large and very comfortable with top quality linen. We had a very large TV which unfortunately didn't have great reception but we were there to golf!!! The owner was delightful and very pleasant to chat to. Breakfast was nice and overall I would rate this very highly - we won't be back to Hydro or knock castle as they are at least four times the price!!! Two tiny niggles. In the shared toilet the sink is so close to the toilet you cannot stand in front of it and the seat didn't stay up - difficult for my husband!!! At breakfast there wasn't a side knife so I had to eat my bacon with a jammy knife. Tiny little issues however and I would highly recommend this B and B and would definately go back.
Review 44:No on suite although we knew when we booked that that would be the case.
Review 45:The rooms were beautiful the beds really comfy. The couple who owned the B & B were so friendly and easygoing.
Review 46:Our bedroom was the only one with en-suite facilities, which with only 4 letting rooms might put some people off. Our bathroom was certainly big enough to accomodate a separate shower cubicle.
Review 47:Great Staff, lovely bedrooms, excellent decor. Very good value for money. The owners were very flexible with check-in times. We checked-in at 23.30 after attending the Commonwealth Games. Great location, an hours drive from Rutherglen (south side of Glasgow) with 15minute train ride into City Centre. We used it as a base for attending the Commonwealth Games
Review 48:Stairs - too steep and too many for elderly people. Bed in ensuite too high for elderly people. Shower in the ensuite bathroom was in the bath, which was difficult for elderly people to access if they find getting into a bath hard. A separate shower would have been better. TV in ensuite room had poor picture. Breakfast could have had more choice eg marmalade as well as jam, more cereal choice, also other guests sharing the same pot of jam rather than having a few on the go.
Review 49:Very friendly owners who were happy to help. The beds were wide and comfy. Decor was tidy and interesting. Ensuite bathroom was spacious. Bath robes and slippers in the room with the shared bathroom.
Review 50:Shared bathroom a bit awkward but we were aware when we booked so it was fine. Also at the bottom of a big hill if you want to go into the main town so ladies be warned, flats are essential. I'm sure passers by had a good laugh watching me come back down the hill in 5inch wedges :0)
Review 51:Beautiful hotel, decor stunning. Massive comfortable bed. Hosts we're very welcoming, made you feel at ease in their home. Good selection at breakfast, nice & tasty. Ideally situation for a nice evening stroll into the Main Street which has lovely bars & restaurants.
Review 52:The owners made us feel very welcome on arrival and throughout our stay. The bed was very spacious and comfy, loads of space in the room, massive telly with DVD player, free Wi-Fi, very well decorated and a very good full Scots breakfast. Thoroughly recommended.
Review 53:Full Breakfast could have included more Scottish breakfast items(haggis, potato scone & lorne sausage)
Review 54:Very spacious with separate area to keep clothes and luggage, comfy bed, and large bathroom. Friendly owners and lovely building
Review 55:The breakfasting hour wasn't suitable, although we had the B&B to ourselves one night and they were very kind to push breakfast ahead by 30 min. However, the complementary breakfast between 7-8:00am was too easy to miss - or too difficult to get older children up for - and had to pay for breakfast for 4 people at a local restaurant at 9:00am. (setting me back another £16). Also, the towels were on the small side, and this is going to sound odd, but the mirrors were hung too high on the walls for anyone.
Review 56:The rooms were stunning - definately a "wow", and the staff were delightful, informative and friendly. I would probably go back there because of their good nature and the clean, beautiful facilities! In addition, it was very easy to get from the B&B to anywhere in town.
Review 57:Shared bathroom
Review 58:Room was lovely.
Review 59:Fabulous property, really stunning. Gorgeous rooms with very friendly staff
Review 60:It was just perfect
Review 61:Breakfast -no fresh coffee option
Review 62:Friendly owner Good location Very comfortable
Review 63:Excellent Stay in luxurious comfort. Will be back soon
Review 64:Hmm, the polyester towels were ineffective.
Review 65:The fabulous decor and opulence.
Review 66:matters lacked support
Review 67:Everything was great apart from the fact that the mattress didn't have much support
Review 68:No ensuite. Limited choice of breakfast.
Review 69:Lovely host. Great location.
Review 70:Very nice stay. Very good breakfast. Absolute privacy. Great place to explore the area. Very exclusive room :-)
Review 71:The size of the room, quirky decor, parking nearby, close to supermarket.
Review 72:just a minor thing, but the water in the bath drains away slowly while you are in it
Review 73:the decor, bed, and staff were great.
Review 74:Television didn't work. Breakfast poor. Shared bathroom shower head difficult to move.
Review 75:Lovely bed large room.
Review 76:maxine is an excellent host, she makes a fine breakfast. the room we used was very comfortable, overall a great weekend away.

Review 78:The breakfast at room. To share the bathroom.
Review 79:The bed.
Review 80:Water could have been hotter.
Review 81:Very welcoming, beautiful decor and very comfortable bed! Breakfast was excellent.
Review 82:Gorgeous rooms. Very nicely appointed and clean. Service was superb and we felt very welcome. Comfortable bed. Breakfast served to the room.
Review 83:No hairdryer, no selection of freeview channels, small towels, no toiletries
Review 84:Facilitues
Review 85:Did not like breakfast in the bedroom
Review 86:Polite owners very helpful.
Review 87:No real shower
Review 88:Price, location, lovely hostess and fantastic breakfast
Review 89:A warm welcome, friendly and helpful and accommodated my request for a later check out, my 6 year old felt very special
Review 90:There was no shower in the room and the water ran cold after so my husband did not manage to have a shower
Review 91:Spacious room and very nice owner
Review 92:Very welcoming, beautiful interiors and spacious rooms, very comfortable bed and great breakfast
Review 93:Hotel standard room and bathroom

Review 97:we loved everything!
Review 98:From the moment we were greeted, to walking in our room and then our breakfast in the morning ... just one word ... WOW!
Review 99:Some of the paintwork needed touched up.
Review 100:The size of the bed
Review 101:Very personal experience. Owners were very friendly.
Review 102:Spotlessly clean. Friendliness and warmth of our host. Ease of parking (free) right outside the door. Value for money.
Review 103:The stairs and a bit overpriced
Review 104:Location and personal welcome
Review 105:breakfast time-latest 9am, feel this could be extended slightly for those that wish a longer lie
Review 106:everything
Review 107:cant think of a single thing
Review 108:Warm welcome, décor beautiful, lovely owners and you can come and go as you please.
Review 109:We were staying in Crieff while travelling to see the surrounding area. Our room was lovely, the bed was incredibly comfortable, fabulous breakfast and the owners have done a fantastic job giving this B&B the feel of a much more up market hotel. I would also like to compliment our hosts who were incredibly friendly, welcoming and only too willing to provide advice about where to eat or visit during our stay in the area, and we appreciated them taking the time to chat with us. Victoria House was a wonderful place to stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone.
Review 110:Very warm welcome by staff, with a pleasant "come and go as you please" attitude. Very helpful when we asked for help with transport. Good breakfast cooked to order. Decor made a nice change from generic chain hotels.
Review 111:Very friendly staff, lovely big room with very comfortable bed and nice decor throughout the property. Requested early checkin and this was no problem to the staff who were very accommodating.
Review 112:Owners were very friendly and helpful. Interior of the house is absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Crieff.
Review 113:Nothing
Review 114:The decor was beautiful and well kept. The couple were very friendly and especially helpful recommending local restaurants. Warm, clean, and very central for the heRt of the town and a visit to the local distillary. Highly recommended.
Review 115:Very friendly couple made us very welcome from the very start of our stay .. The rooms were beautiful in fact the whole place was .. Breakfast was lovely .. We would stay again if we were in that neck of the woods !!!!!
Review 116:We were staying here as a group of friends and family. We found the owner to be very welcoming and friendly. The rooms at the Victoria were beautifully decorated with comfortable beds. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast before heading off home but have every intention of staying here again and would highly recommend it to anyone. Great value for money.
Review 117:While bed looked beautiful and was very comfortable when actually in, getting in and out was a major problem. The super king size bed was very nice - obviously hand made. There was a large channel of about 4 inches between the wooden frame and the mattress. The frame was higher than the mattress so it was actually painful to get in and out. My husband and I are in our late 50s but very fit and we found this very problematic. I asked on leaving if anybody had mentioned this before. The owner said no but she did have a new mattress on order as they were aware of the issue?? While I enjoyed my stay, I would not go back unless I knew this had been sorted. One other thing was the toaster at breakfast and help yourself to toast. I always think it's nice to have toast brought with your breakfast. The outer door was very tight to get into with luggage.
Review 118:Very warm welcome - room very nice. When I booked I knew they only had a shared bathroom room left so I was aware - the bathroom was right next door to our room so wasn't too much of an issue. Nice touch - dressing gowns and flip flops supplied.
Review 119:Brilliant style but it got in the way of comfort: cold marble-style floors, no chair in bedroom, no soap, cheap kettle, no bedside table and bedside light behind the curtain so difficult to read in bed. And breakfast, while cooked perfectly, was hardly adequate: B and Bs at around £35 a night that I have used over several weeks in Scotland this year all had fresh fruit, porridge, good bread often home made, and the majority do cafetiere coffee.
Review 120:Beautiful and large stylish room, spotlessly clean, near town centre. Lovely hosts who couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful.
Review 121:Shared bathroom. No paper tissues in room. Towels were microfibre instead of cotton.
Review 122:Friendly welcome. Breakfasting facilities. Comfortable bed. Location
Review 123:There was just one bathroom to share. We stayed there at the same time as a family and it made it hard to get bathroom time.
Review 124:Amazing! The owner was so friendly and helpful; the rooms were amazing- the bed was fantastic! It definitely felt like a luxury stay! The breakfast was really good. If I'm ever lucky enough to get back there I would stay here again without question. Amazing!
Review 125:We liked everything. The decor was sumptuous and elegant, the bedroom (Victoria) was palacial and comfortable and the breakfast set us up for the day. Few yards up the street were restaurants for evening meal. Free parking next to the B&B. The owner was lovely and very helpful, we wish her all the best in her new venture.
