Review 1：This is more a 2-3 stars hotel by regular standards. The rooms are tiny and feel nowhere close to 4 stars. Cleanliness is ok. Hotels caters mostly to German tourists, but for them this is a budget choice. So expect dinner and breakfast behavior on a level of a marketplace in a 3rd world country. Food quality also leaves a lot to be desired. You would not expect the cheap "salt trick" in this kind of hotel. They over salt everything and all the drinks are ridiculously overpriced. Even water. And you cannot get tap water, of course. All in all we expected a lot more from a hotel from the Valamar chain.

Review 2：Location of the hotel is superb. Right on the edge of a peninsula, the only thing you see is the sea and the vast forests of the neighboring hills. You would never guess, that it is just 5 minutes on foot to the town center.

Review 4：Everything was great. Staff was super friendly, we got an even better room than we expected, the SPA was superb, the water in the indoor pool had a great temperature, everything clean and tidy. Excellent food, all in all top.

Review 5：The room was rather small but functional. Ours was located right above the stage where the evening performances were taking place, so it was a bit noisy. During the lunch time, only fast food service is available in a separate unit nextdoor.

Review 6：The location is great, a few steps from the well-organized beach. Marvellous view from the hotel terraces. Nice outdoor and indoor swimming pools, wellness services. Cosy dehors lounge bar with entertainment programme in the evening (concerts, dances). Excellent food for breakfast and dinner. Friendly and competent staff, excellent service. We highly appreciated that dog was allowed.

Review 7：The mini golf course was a little disappointing but that did not stop us from enjoying many of the other activities the resort had to offer.

Review 8：The pool and wellness centre was fantastic! The staff was enormously friendly and accommodating. The food is buffet style with lots of options. Drink prices are quite reasonable. We brought our dog (10 euro per day) and had plenty of open places to take her for a walk. The house white wine is especially refreshing after a relaxing day in the water. Make sure you bring your snorkel!

Review 13：The pillows were horrible and the mattress itself was just ok. The air conditioning in our room suddenly stopped working on our ladt night. (We opened the door to the balcony to allow cooler air into the room, but on other nights the air would not have been cool enough)

Review 20：This was our third hotel stay on a mini tour of Istria, and we wanted a resort style hotel to chill out for a couple of days before coming home. The Valamar Sanfior was ideal. Modern, well appointed, well staffed, well positioned, and with all the facilities one could need. There was direct access to beaches and coves, and a promenade right along the front to Rabac. The clientele was almost entirely German and Austrian, which is not surprising as they can drive down. We flew to and from Zagreb which is a comfortable drive of just over 3 hours from this hotel. Would certainly use this hotel and/or the Valamar chain again.

Review 21：No bathrobe and slippers in the room (you can buy them in spa, but the reason is to get to the spa in the bathrobe). If you room above the main entrance prepare to smell tobacco and hear loud talks 24/7. No direct access to the beach from spa.

Review 25：-The entertainment at the hotel was average. The only really good quality entertainment was AcoustiCo Guitar. The Abba night was ok too. You can do better I think since everything else was perfect. - When I did my reservation, if there was a little note anywhere that the room was directly above the nightly entertainment (that sometimes goes on until 23:30), I would have definitely chosen a different type of room. I think that this is an important piece of information, especially for people maybe coming with small kids or older people that need more piece and quite. Or somebody like me that likes to enjoy a good book in the evening and a peaceful moment before I go to bed. Since I have heard each and every entertainer twice during my stay, I know that you can definitely improve the quality of the entertainment

Review 69：Two things annoyed us. 1 - They claimed that the 20% deposit that we had paid when we booked (very early) was not paid. We had to proof when and how much exactly was deducted from our account. 2 - The entrance and exit of the hotel. When we entered the machine was stuck and we had to wait a while. At exit time they failed to provide us with the ticket and we had to go back to the reception to get it. The food was quite good overall except that we noticed some cheap products being used.

Review 71：I believe the hotel is not more than a superior three star hotel. The rooms are too small for this category. We it found difficult to sleep due to the fact the room had no ventilation and the beds were very uncomfortable. Since the beds are built with a wooden frame, there is a disturbing hole between the beds, when put together. They don’t have normal double beds. There are no tea or coffee making amenities in the room. The pool and the wellness area are very small. I don’t know how the hotel functions in top season since the room capacity is obviously substantially larger than the capacity of inner and outdoor pool and the restaurant area. We found the restaurant to be cramped for a four star hotel. The food presentation was excellent but of average quality. No soft drinks are included at dinner, one small bottle of water costs almost €2,50. The wifi didn’t work through our entire stay not even in the common areas. Rabac as itself seems somewhat cheap, we wouldn’t stay in the resort for a longer period.

Review 72：We liked the location of the hotel, surrounded by pine-tree forest. The hotel park and beach access are completely new although not totally finished. The view from our room and the hotel lounge and restaurant terrace was nice. The staff is very friendly. We appreciated the fresh fruit at breakfast and dinner.

Review 93：The wifi signal was very poor, the staff was not well prepared. When we arrived the receptionist said there was a free buffet because of the bad weather. It turned out the buffet was only free for people attending a conference or something that was taking place and the price was 70 kunas (10 euros), that was fair because the quality and variety was good, but that kind of information should be given without mistake. And when we wanted to have dinner, the room was quite full and one of the waitress wanted to sit us in the same table with a couple that was already there having dinner, quite awckward, and when we refused she managed to find us a table. Another thing we did not like was that they were showing the indoor swimming pool to those attending this event and when we went to the ladies changing room there was a "parade" of people (including men) going through which was quite uncomfortable, but the staff of the wellness center did not seem to bother.

Review 101：I realy don’t recommend Valamar Sanfior Hotel to anyone and I don’t have explanation why this hotel is so high rated in www.booking.com We had a terrible holiday in this hotel and I never come back to it. I think the ammount we paid for this hotel is not responsible for the services we received. I made a reservation for 2 double rooms with a french double bed. The price for these two rooms was absolutely the same, as it should be. The first couple arrived eralier and were accommodated in room number 063. This room is nice, renovated room on the first floor with nice patio and new furniture, but it was with 2 single beds. The complaint for this room is only that the hotel provided a room with 2 single beds, wich were collected in the form of French bed, but there was a distance between the two mattresses. We (the another couple) were placed in room 309. This is a room with 4 beds, 4 single beds, not new furniture and the difference between our room and room 063 is huge. In room 309 you feel that you are staying in a dormitory, but on the beach. We went to reception and explained that we booked a double room with French bed. The receptionist told us that the hotel do not have any available double standard room and that we obtain upgrade to a larger room (with 4 single beds), because double standard room is small and narrow. I think that any normal hotel inform when there is a problem, but this hotel does not tell you anything and when you enter in your room you're shocked. There is no matter what room you booked and at what price, the hotel themselves make the final decision in what room will accommodate. I do not understand then why booking.com has various rooms at different prices for this hotel. The service you get is at the discretion of the hotel, not based on what you booked and what you pay. We left the Hotel Valamar Sanfior with mixed feelings, but we never get a new booking especially for this hotel.

Review 102：Our view for the restaurant is positive. Excellent food, excellent service, variety of food, great staff attitude and mostly F & B Manager Mario and the waiter Milos Trajkovski.

Review 111：Everything. The staff were so helpful. The hotel delivered champagne onthe house for my birthday with a hand written card from the manager. Thepool was great, clean, enough room and tomislav at the pool bar was thenicest man. Review 112：Resort type of hotel. Basic room but plenty of hotel extras like indoor and outdoor swimming, hot tub, massage, bar, ect. Price was great when you consider it includes half board. Meals (bfast and dinner) are buffet style. The buffet style of eating might get a bit old if you stay for a long visit but since we just stayed a night we thought it was great. Food was excellent, staff very nice and helpful. We asked for a beachside room when we booked, which was an excellent view. However the disco is beachfront too, if you are a light sleeper you may want an inside room. I was not bothered by it but my husband had some trouble sleeping. Realize that it is a resort and there are lots of people and families. May not be the best for a quiet get away.
