Reviews for The Murray Park Hotel
Review 1:Log fire in the bar, great in winter time, Food is amazing from terrific breakfasts to fabulous dinners , Staff are so nice and helpful ,brilliant!!
Review 2:Staff, food and comfort of the facilities are all very good. The Murray Park is beautifully clean and well kept. Even though the weather was atrocious we had a wonderful time.
Review 3:Family room was a bit small for 2 adults and 2 teenage children
Review 4:Relaxed atmosphere, very good food. Staff very helpful and friendly. Although menu was a little lacking in choice for a gluten-free diet, the staff were good at informing what items were available as GF, either in their own right, or as a modification.
Review 5:There was some mould in the bathroom and marks on the bedroom wall, but other than that the room was lovely.
Review 6:The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly.
Review 7:Mattress was awful, very soft and lumpy!
Review 8:Room was good size and clean and bright. Had dinner and it was very good. Breakfast was excellent. Service great and staff very friendly and helpful.
Review 9:Not really a complaint, just something to note! It was really icy when we arrived. The car park, being on a slope, was quite slippy. Not ideal when trying to carry cases up to the hotel or for those unsteady on their feet. However, the staff did offer to help and tried to grit area as often as possible.
Review 10:The staff were outstanding. They couldn't do enough for us. The food in the restaurant was also excellent. Really delicious with great portion sizes. The hotel has a really cosy, welcoming atmosphere.
Review 11:This hotel is great value for money. It is very clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. We loved the log burning fires and the breakfast was delicious. 3rd visit. Will go again.
Review 12:The staff were so friendly and extremely helpful. We ate in the bar on the Friday night and it was one of the best meals we have had in a long time. so fresh and tasty. we will definitely be back to stay. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Review 13:The towels have seen better days. There was some mildue in our bathroom probably caused by condensation.
Review 14:The staff were lovely. They could not have been more helpful. Really nice bar area with log burner and drinks/meal prices reasonable.
Review 15:As regular visitors we know we will get more than value for money. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and as I am slightly disabled we had the room I needed on the ground floor as before. The breakfast has greatly improved from the last time, freshly cooked and hot. a big Thank you to all the staff and look forward to returning.
Review 16:I suffer from the medical condition, Coeliac Disease - the hotel ran out of gluten free bread though only for 1 meal. I had alerted them when I booked
Review 17:Staff were great and hotel was very clean
Review 18:Fabulous service for the entire family and all the events. Accommodated all of our requests and gave great tips re eating options and got us a discount at the golf course.
Review 19:My only negative comment is that we were in room 17 on the third floor with no lift. So after a good evening meal and a couple of drinks and our age, the stairs were a killer!!
Review 20:I can certainly agree with all the excellent reviews other visitors have posted. It was just GREAT.
Review 21:Only a tiny moan 2 single beds pushed together to make a double but that is the only thing I can fault
Review 22:The staff were fabulous customer service in my job is key and I often witness the negatives but all the staff could not do enough for you were extremely welcoming friendly a credit to the hotel
Review 23:Quality of cooked breakfast poor. And very limited healthy breakfast choices. E.g. Travelled around Scotland staying in b&bs which offered lovely fresh fruits and good quality and yoghurt choices.
Review 24:Cosy ambience with Log burner in the bar lounge. Menu is reasonably priced. Staff lovely. All things considered, good value but not really worth more unless improved?
Review 25:Excellent staff, well trained and very professional whilst also being very friendly. Our room and bathroom were scrupulously clean and very comfortable. Dinner was of a high standard from a good choice of menu. Breakfast , served to order, was of a high standard. This was the final night of our 50th anniversary honeymoon and as in 1965 we were staying in Crieff. It was a pleasure to stay at Murray Park and we will certainly be paying more visits. Ed Richardson.
Review 26:The European senior staff had very good English but chose to speak to speak between themselves in their own language in the public areas, reception and bar. Not sure if I am being overly sensitive but would have preferred them to speak English in front of the guests.
Review 27:The facilities available at the hydro
Review 28:As the spec had mentioned free toiletries I had not packed hair conditioner and there was none supplied. Not a big problem.
Review 29:Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast very good Relaxing setting
Review 30:We loved the welcome, information given and the kindness of staff. A quaint wee hotel with a homely, cosy feel. Our room was adequate for 1 night. Our little girl loved the bunk bed :) It was so lovely to include our puppy in our stay. The chance to use Crieff Hydro facilities was an excellent opportunity and bonus to our stay. We'd definitely book again.
Review 31:Nothing - everything perfect!
Review 32:Hubby and I stayed one night in this hotel as a stop-over on our travels around Scotland and were not disappointed by anything at all. Great hotel, great food, great room and superb staff. The cleanliness was first rate and the room facilities too. The public and private rooms are tastefully furnished and decorated - particularly the dining room with it's beautiful glass chandeliers. The bar/lounge areas are in keeping with the hotel and pleasant places to relax with a drink. We found everything we wanted for a very reasonable price. We can highly recommend staying here for a restful evening.
Review 33:Easy to find very clean and quiet location, room had everything that you could possibly need very nice comfortable beds small seating area tea and coffee making facilities nice decoration hairdryer and lovely soft towels a nice bonus and a beautiful full Scottish Breakfast on both Mornings Excellent ....
Review 34:The staff was very nice and competend. The facilities were in very good shape and clean. The location is near the town centre and Close by there is a Partner Hotel were the guests can use some spa facilities, and sports like horse riding etc.
Review 35:Plant motors running all night kept us awake. However this was taken on board by Calum the duty Manager. Reason for a glum face in review!
Review 36:Having always stayed 'up the hill' at the Hydro and being unable to get our usual room this time we changed to the Murray Park and are converted. Murray Park is much less formal and has a cosy atmosphere to it. Being smaller the staff are much more personal.
Review 37:The staff were very friendly and very helpful at responding to questions that were asked. The room was big and very comfortable. The price was excellent for how much we received while we stayed at the hotel. Highly recommend The Murray Park Hotel.
Review 38:The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The food both at lunchtime and evening were very good. We didn't have time for the cooked breakfast but the menu looked lovely.
Review 39:Stayed here with my hubby, 18 month old & 3 week old. Room was big and spacious but you opened your door right into the dining area where they liked to sit everyone for some reason. Was noisy until 12am but the noise of the wine fridge was all night. Then breakfast was woken up at 7am with the noise of them starting work. Had dinner there too. Menu was good but I had to rush into our room to settle my little boy and they took my meal away after 10 mins :( then it was too late to order anything. The room needed refurbed, I couldn't open patio door as was too sticky. And general decor was wearing away. The guy who checked us in was really helpful & lovely though.
Review 40:A bit busy over the Easter break and not as pleasant as usual. It would be nice if dogs were not allowed into the hotel. Very thin walls so can be noisy at times from people moving around in other rooms and the hallway.
Review 41:Always a great stay at the Murray park with a nice base location to explore the perthshire attractions. Nice to be able to use the Crieff Hydro facilities but come back to the quieter and quainter Murray Park at night.
Review 42:Beds not comfortable and rooms could do with a fresh paint, window frames in room and bathroom were pretty grubby.
Review 43:Staff very welcoming and happy to help, good location of hotel.
Review 44:Despite the fact that we arrived late and the restaurant was closed, Lynne the hotel Manager arranged a lovely platter of sandwiches. Excellent breakfast and service during our stay!
Review 45:Nothing.
Review 46:The food was lovely and always piping hot. Breakfast freshly cooked and good variety. The staff could not have been more pleasant or helpful.
Review 47:Can't fault anything!!
Review 48:Friendly staff! Clean and comfortable. Good food and ample parking! Have stayed in many hotels far more expensive that are nowhere near as good.
Review 49:Only slight negative was the bed wasn't as comfortable as I thought it would be. Didn't spoil my experience at all just not as expected.
Review 50:Staff and facilities excellent. Food fabulous.
Review 51:The pillows were not very comfortable
Review 52:This place is half the cost of a stay at the main hydro but is the best of both worlds because its good value, fantastic service and staff and you still have full access to the hydro facilities!
Review 53:Decor could be updated and fresh lick of paint..
Review 54:Lovely location, great value, breakfast and evening meal for £89 family room for 4... Beds were huge and all clean..
Review 55:Took far too long to serve dinner - hour and a half. Everyone was waiting long. Food was nice enough but wouldn't eat here again as kids were on the edge of having melt-down at the wait... Breakfast was okay, not fantastic just okay. Selection on cold buffet was small and hot breakfast was nothing to write home about.
Review 56:The staff were lovely (esp blonde lady at front desk). Suite of rooms large and clean. Hotel nicely furnished. Bar area with open fire, warm and cosy in the evening. Use of hydro facilities - great!
Review 57:We were there for 3 nights dinner bed & breakfast. Dinner menu was not very big & did not change. No specials were on offer so choice was limited on the menu as to what you could have as part of the inclusive package.
Review 58:Location, rooms were great and staff were friendly.
Review 59:Facilities are slightly run down. There had been heavy rain the night before and there were several leaks in the reception area.
Review 60:Very cheap. Staff were excellent, very friendly and informative. Use of the Crieff Hydro facilities was the main reason for staying as we just used the Murray Park as a place to sleep.
Review 61:I loved this hotel, it felt like such a sanctuary for me. The staff were the friendliest, most helpful staff ever! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will be back again soon. Many thanks
Review 62:Crieff Hydro facilities which can be used when at this hotel were rather crowded, and the Crieff Hydro food was a bit over priced
Review 63:Location, comfort, relaxed atmosphere, food were all very good and led us to have a good experience
Review 64:There was nothing I didn't like.
Review 65:very friendly staff, it was a freezing foggy day and the hotel was lovely and warm. The next morning I had two rashers of bacon and two poached eggs, which were both cooked to perfection. Also liked the sizeable car park.
Review 66:Nothing
Review 67:Staff could not do enough to help - they were polite and accomodating. Really excellent. They made the stay something special. Have returned time and time again.
Review 68:One small thing one of the walls in th room had had water or drink spilt on it and had not been cleaned, but we didnt complain
Review 69:The room was lovely the staff so helpfull as always and the meals were excellent
Review 70:Pleasant location, great breakfast, nicely appointed room, ample parking. Staff were well trained and courteous at all times. Would recommend and would go back.
Review 71:Although your staff were beyond help full and really profesional... it took more than an hour running back and forth between the Hydro Hotel and The Murray... to eventually access my room at 2.30am... after a 15 hour working day, I was close to despair...
Review 72:I did'nt... it was a disaster
Review 73:The size of the hotel gave it a very cosy feeling, and the member of staff at the front desk who welcomed us was just brilliant. The hotel had such a nice family atmosphere.
Review 74:The joined double bed. Would have preferred a normal double bed.
Review 75:The friendliness of the hotel staff. Warm welcome. Attentiveness of staff Being able to use crieff hydro facilities. The food was excellent and fresh.
Review 76:Anything that we didn't like was minute and would be very petty of me to mention. We used the facilities at the Murray Park sister hotel the Crieff Hydro. My friend used the gym and said it was good. I used the Victorian Spa and was very disappointed. If you were going to spend a whole day there the charge of £10 is possibly ok. For me it was too much as i was only there for an hour. The pool has seen better days with the tiling requiring to be replaced or re-grouted. I was very much looking forward to the Victorian Spa but it was not a pleasant experience.
Review 77:On arrival the receptionist was very friendly and welcoming. She asked us if either of us had a problem with stairs and as I do she went out of her way to put us in a ground floor room. The room was good and a reasonable size as was the bathroom. No complaints. We ate in the bar and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. The staff we dealt with were extremely pleasant and helpful. There was a different receptionist when we checked out and again very friendly and helpful.
Review 78:The television didn't work in the rrom, but again this was sorted out with no trouble by the staff. starter was cold when I was served it at my eveing meal, but this was sorted out quickly and we were given complimentary drinks
Review 79:The staff were very welcoming from the outset and nothing was any trouble for them. We had a snack in the lounge bar which was excellent value for money and well prepared by the chef. We had an issue with the started in the evening, but this was resolved quickly and professionally by our waitress
Review 80:Carpets in passages needed a clean. Used bed linen left lying in passages outside bedrooms long after rooms have been occupied by new guests.
Review 81:Spacious well organised bedroom. Good food. Friendly staff. Parking. General ambience.
Review 82:Stair / landing carpet very tired and unfortunately dirty / heavily stained.
Review 83:All aspects of our stay viz food, drink, friendliness of all staff, cleanliness of our bedroom / ensuite and location.
Review 84:The staff can't help you enough very friendly and helpful. Food was first class and a bonus you can use the facilities of the hydro just round the corner.
Review 85:Wifi, tv is tiny and bed is a two singles stuck together.
Review 86:Staff were v friendly and helpful,Had a great variety at breakfast and overall had a great stay.
Review 87:Great setting to access Crieff hydro and all its leisure facilities! I travelled with my 3 children aged 2, 6 and 10 and there was plenty to suit all! Will definitely be back! Didn't hang around much in the hotel as we were out most of the day but what we experienced was excellent!
Review 88:Room very hot despite window open, however this may be welcome as winter is on it way
Review 89:Lovely welcoming and attentive staff at reception, bar and restaurant. A credit to the hospitality industry.
Review 90:The smaller hotel with a friendly atmosphere and a personal touch. Very close to the Hydro but preferred the Murray Park. Food and wine was good too. We went into the town and enjoyed a stroll around the shops. A good base and close the Glasgow.
Review 91:Beds not properly made every day, e.g. botton sheet not straightened and pillows just thrown any how on the bed. As menu was obviously not changed regularly we thought there could have been a couple of "chef's specials" every night to ring he changes. Rooms very cold from 3.30 onwards and as the weather was poor during our stay we found this very uncomfortable. As the main guests' lounge was in the Reception area this was also very cold so there was not a comfortable area for guests to sit and read or watch tv. The bottom of one bed was very worn and strands which appeared to be shredded paper were coming loose. These became stuck to the carpet.
Review 92:Location of Hotel.
Review 93:The room wasnt huge and ours was at the back of the building beside pipes which were quite nosey and on til late at night
Review 94:The staff were very friendly. The closeness to Crieff Hydro and being able to use its facilities made for a very good weekend
Review 95:TV reception - signal disappeared after half an hour - TV had to be turned off for 30 mins to get it back No BBC channels - why? Wifi signal dreadful & turned off at night.
Review 96:Lovely staff - very helpful
Review 97:Our room was at he rear of the hotel and over what seemed to be the kitchen, which meant the cooking smell was constantly in the room.
Review 98:The staff were very good and helpful. The service was very good.
Review 99:Common parts and staircase looked dingy, and shabby. Breakfast was not brilliant. Orange juice tasted like squash!
Review 100:Staff very friendly and helpful. Room spotless and comfortable. Nice view. Parking a problem due to bird mess on car and wasps descending from trees above! Staff promised they would do something about it.
Review 101:No serious dislike. The room was warm in an unusual heatwave but that was hardly the hotel's fault.
Review 102:Its location close to Crieff Hydro, and the use of the Hydro's facilities
Review 103:breakfast - continental choice was poor room - comfortable, but a bit 'tired' mirror in bathroom up too high - I'm only 5ft! tea making facilities - why are they in a drawer? would be nicer on a nice tray on top of drawers
Review 104:staff were brilliant, always willing to help and offer advice location - ideal for town and hydro size of room - great views
Review 105:Carpets very dirty and old Breakfast was poor - cooked food on cold plates and tasteless sausages
Review 106:Staff - frint of house young man was excellent Bar staff and restaurant staff were also very good Bar area good and bar well stocked Batghrooms very clean and modern Dinner good
Review 107:Food on an evening took a long time to come. Good job it was worth the wait.
Review 108:Using Crieff's Hydro for free - loved everything there. Staff were lovely and helpful, although I think they work very long hours! The food was great.
Review 109:A really lovely, friendly hotel, would definitely recommend a stay. Facilities at the Hydro are fantastic and only a 2 minute walk away. The food at the Murraypark is delicious we really had a wonderful time.
Review 110:mattress and pillows on the bed were too soft so we didn't sleep that well.
Review 111:Loved our room with the decking and stairs down to the climbing frame and seating area. Our children were thrilled with this. The staff were very efficient and friendly and the food was amazing.
Review 112:The hotel is a little tired in public areas but we would still go back.
Review 113:The staff where great and a super atmosphere. Very welcoming.
Review 114:Friendly staff, great food and nice, spacious rooms with comfortable bed. Great value for money and would definitely return.
Review 115:Staff very helpful and friendly. Great you can take dog to bat when you eat. Great breakfast

Review 119:Room
Review 120:Staff were so friendly and helpful.
Review 121:very friendly and welcoming staff
