Reviews for The Priory Hotel
Review 1:It was curious that the over bath shower in our bathroom had no shower curtain. (It wasn't just that it was missing: there was no rail or other way of having a shower curtain.) Not a big problem, but it did mean that we had to shower very carefully to avoid getting the bathroom floor wet. (Didn't always succeed ...)
Review 2:Pleasant quiet location, a few miles from Hereford city centre. Good size of room. Excellent breakfast. Helpful owners.
Review 3:Nothing!
Review 4:Our hosts, Chris and Chris, were superb. They made us very welcome and had a great eye for detail. The chef was excellent and gave us a superb meal.
Review 5:Excellent, friendly welcome. Chris and Chris are the perfect hosts and make you feel instantly relaxed in their lovely hotel. Lots of laughter puts you instantly at ease.
Review 6:We were in Hereford for business and the reviews of the Priory Hotel were so positive, we decided to book our stay here. And what a wonderful surprise! The hotel is charming; the room was spacious and bright, with a beautiful view overlooking the Hereford countryside; the bar was cozy, with a roaring fire in the fireplace; dinner in the restaurant was absolutely delicious; and Chris & Chris (the owners) made us feel both welcome and at home. We will definitely be coming back -- but for holiday next time!
Review 7:Absolutely outstanding, friendly service and a lovely little hotel. Catered for dietary needs at the drop of a hat and a warmly welcomed throughout our stay. Although we only stayed a night, looks like a beautiful place for weddings and other large events. Unreservedly recommended!
Review 8:The owners (Chris and Chris) were extremely friendly and helpful. The staff were great. The food was fantastic. Can't say enough wonderful things about our stay here.
Review 9:Unfortunately woeful internet (basically non existant), terrible mobile signal, and no stand up shower (they promise to be addressing this though) puts me off booking into the Priory any time in the near future.
Review 10:A nice place with a friendly welcome. Great food, tranquil setting, and a cosy bar. These should all add up to a great place to stay when on business.
Review 11:Evening menu was limited
Review 12:A lovely family run hotel in a beautiful setting with easy access to many areas of beauty and interest to visit. The food was good
Review 13:On our arrival the receptionist was very unhelpful. She told us "the bar is closed but it might be open at 5". She gave us a phone number for a taxi we wanted to book but didn't offer to book it for us. She then told us "you're in room 7, .............pause.......do you want me to show you ?" We couldn't use the restaurant as it was booked out for a function and when the bar did finally open it was crowded with people attending said function, it was closed again when we arrived back from our evening out at 11.15 pm. The room was just OK but chilly when we walked in and the radiator wouldn't turn on. It had one small table upon which there was a lamp, an information folder and the tea/coffee tray so no room to put anything. The Kettle was not plugged in so we either had to move the table, feed the lead down the back to plug in or place the kettle on the floor to use as the lead was so short. The glass protectors on the bedside cabinets slid about every time we touched them and the wardrobe was too short to hang evening wear. The bathroom had only one very small glass shelf so, again, no space for our toiletries, the toilet seat was so cheap and flimsy that it shifted if you sat on it, the heated towel rail wouldn't turn on. and there was no bathroom bin. All in all, although the actual hotel was very pleasant I consider £120 per night for a mediocre room very over priced. I have rated the staff as poor with the exception of the young girl who served us at breakfast, who was extremely pleasant. When I raised my concerns with the owner I got the impression that she was not at all worried as I had "booked through bookings.com and not booked direct" Each of these faults are not major in themselves but all together made our stay not a good one. We were made to feel we were in the way of their real business of holding functions. Would certainly not book again or recommend to anyone...
