Reviews for Galvelbeg House Bed & Breakfast

Review 1:The traffic outside was very noisy from early in the morning so it was impossible to sleep once that started. I thought it was a little bit odd at breakfast to be told to put the bread in the toaster myself, I've never had to do this anywhere else. The host was a little bit wooden but then it did say in the welcome pack that he hadn't been doing it all that long.

Review 2:A lovely house with a really nice spacious and comfortable room. Loved the large quirky ensuite on two levels. The home baking left in the room was a nice touch. Breakfast was good, the waitress was a very lovely lady. Parking was easy.

Review 3:Lovely room. Great views. And the owners, Nigel & Stella were that perfect mix of really welcoming & friendly whilst giving you privacy. A really perfect base in Crieff.

Review 4:Everything!! Room was spotless with an amazing view, the home baking left each day was a lovely touch. Owners were very friendly & helpful. My first time travelling & staying alone. Will definitely be back.

Review 5:just a niggle which is common to most hotels and B & Bs - butter and condiment containers. More convenient but not environmentally friendly or cheaper.

Review 6:A very comfortable stay with friendly hosts. This includes Barley and Murphy, the resident pooches who gifted Millie some delicious dog treats. This is one of the best B & Bs I have stayed at recently. Millie says thank you for the bacon she had for breakfast.

Review 7:There was NOTHING to dislike!!!!!

Review 8:Galvelbeg House was immaculate, spotlessly clean everywhere. Nigel and Stella made us very welcome with their friendly yet professional aire. Their attention to detail was first rate; providing folders with local information and another for places to eat locally being one such example. The room and bed was most comfortable with a super view of the surrounding countryside. And the breakfasts are to die for!!!! We thoroughly recommend Galvelbeg House!!!!!

Review 9:Nothing to fault

Review 10:Very welcoming b+b, lovely atmosphere and Nigel & Stella couldn't be more helpful, room was clean, bed very comfortable and a lovely tray with home made baking amongst other items.Breakfast was superb and will definitely stay here again if i am in the area. Excellent location, a 5 minute walk into town centre.

Review 11:The room i stayed in had almost no heat for the two days. I was forced to book two days when i only needed one. Penalising me as a single traveĺer at new year and put in the worst room. Im seriously ill and both nights the room was ice cold. The huge bathroom window blew open in the middle of the night. It was so cold i could see my breath in clouds. It took me two days to get warm due to my condition. I ended up with severe flu. The bed was rock hard. And because i was alone breakfast was one tiny egg. Rubbery bacon. And a one sausage. I travel many bnbs this was the worst experience in years. I feel i deserve a full refund and apology. I was made to stay 2 nighrs despite needing to get to england . Im totally unhappy with this . Never again

Review 12:The owners were lovley and welcoming.

Review 13:Choice of breakfast to book ahead and individual requests catered for. Short walk from bus stop and to Crieff centre and conference at Crieff Hydro. Plenty reading material / information on local activities. Lovely HENS to watch in garden and fresh eggs daily.

Review 14:Loved the fact that Nigel & Stella seem to have thought of everything. We forgot our powerplug converters; luckily we could borrow three from them. Home baking by Stella in the room each morning. Free wifi to use. A great and varied breakfast selection (Stella even shared her homemade granola recipe). Nigel was willing to help us by calling a taxi. All in all, I would recommend their B&B very much!

Review 15:Crieff like lots of small towns is showing signs of being a bit tired. However, it is a good base for travelling throughout Perthshire and see other interesting places.

Review 16:Nigel, the Owner, was very friendly and keen to mke sure that we had a comfortable stay at Gavelbeg and his breakfasts were as hearty or as light as you would wish to have them

Review 17:The ensuite was a little cramped and the shower flow could have been a bit stronger.

Review 18:The proprietor Nigel is enthusiastic, welcoming and attentive. Always ready to chat and suggest local places of interest and where to eat in the evening. Great breakfast! Extensive views from the back of the house and safe parking within the grounds at the rear. Convenient for the town and restaurants.

Review 19:The combination of efficiency, welcome and relaxation was charming. The food and service were excellent. The offer of fresh milk and the provision of home-baked cake were nice touches. One of the most interesting things was an A-Z of useful and light-hearted information about Galvelbeg and Crieff generally. I would certainly recommend a stay here for anyone looking for a bed in the area. Many thanks for a most pleasant and comfortable stay.

Review 20:Early morning traffic noise; my room was at the front of the building and as it was a warm night I needed the window open.

Review 21:General friendliness of staff. Flexibility of arrangements.

Review 22:The shower goes from scalding hot to freezing cold every 30 seconds so you get a brief second of tolerable on each pass to rinse off. That was a bit tricky. Everything else was lovely.

Review 23:They are seasoned, capable B&B owners and they have their own chickens who lay the eggs for breakfast! I really enjoyed my stay, the place, and the people.

Review 24:Room was a bit hot for me (but I found this nearly everywhere in UK and even Europe), breakfast only available for a short time.

Review 25:Very friendly owners, located an easy walk into town (only a few minutes), well set out room, breakfast was delicious, biscuits and some home baking provided which was very thoughtful.

Review 26:Friendly couple provide a warm welcome. Breakfast was excellent, home-made jam and wonderful scrambled eggs. Room was fine. Parking place for the car.

Review 27:The owners were warm, friendly and extremely helpful. Rooms provided all of the comforts of a home from home. Stella' s home baking was delicious. Breakfast was well presented, cooked to order and very enjoyable. A leisurely breakfast can be enjoyed while taking in the view from the hills, and at the same time admiring the photographic talent of a local resident in the many framed photos on the walls together with Nigel's own display of talent in the local views represented on the place mats on the tables. I would have no hesitation in booking another stay.

Review 28:Restricted Breakfast Times.I wanted a weekend break, but had to go up early, because no other option. on day of leaving need to be out at 10am.(even on a sunday!)

Review 29:Very comfortable bed, very good sleep. Also very good food for breakfast,& lots of choices.

Review 65:A small BnB. Welcoming to see my name on the blackboard at the entrance with room number. Nigel really helpful. Even though the room was tiny it had all we could wish for and a nice 'feel' about it. Ample and delicious breakfast. Oh, and it was lovely to get some of Stella's home baking to go with the tea, coffee or hot chocolate in the room. Thanks for having us.

Review 69:I have stayed 4 times now and every time I have been made most welcome by Nigel and Stella. The home baking a lovely welcome gesture, the breakfasts very wholesome. Thoroughly recommend.

Review 70:Nigel and his wife were very welcoming and our room was beautiful with amazing views out over the countryside! It was in a great location within Crieff right on the main road. And the breakfast in the morning was also delicious! We didn't want for anything and we were especially big fans of the homemade cookies that we found in our room!

Review 71:it was really comfortable and had a very warm welcome breakfast was delicious plenty to eat will stay there again and would recommend it to friends many thanks

Review 72:Electric shower was dated, set extremely hot (took a while to work out what was wrong - had been set to maximum heat (unbearable to even put a hand under for more than a second) and water flow was inadequate. Really needs to be replaced - looked 30+ years old. Room was adequate for a single person or couple's needs but was really too small to be a family room - no space for a wardrobe and coat hook style rack was too small for three people to stay more than a night or two.

Review 73:Breakfast, friendly owner, car park, spectacular views.

Review 74:Can't think of anything.

Review 75:Warm welcome, cases carried to our room, clean warm room. Breakfast choice was varied and excelent value for money. We will certainly go again.

Review 77:Lovely welcome with fresh home-baked cake in our room! Warm and friendly service, excellent breakfast too.

Review 78:Having a see through shower screen on the shower cubicle in the room beside the bed. I was fine as I was a single traveller but I might feel a bit uncomfortable if travelling with someone else.
