Review 1:The proprietor was a most welcoming host. He appeared to run a one man show but nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast at the time requested. Local knowledge offered.

Review 2:Fun quirky informative owner. Lots of great info and a great sense of humour. Comfie beds and close walking distance to a couple of good pubs. nice quiet location. Check out the huge Holly Tree in his side yard.

Review 3:Our host was extremely pleasant and welcoming, got along wonderfully with the children, sleeping arrangements were perfect for our little family, and breakfast was delightful! He offered great advice on where to dine when we got in late, was very sweet the whole time!

Review 4:Michael was very welcoming and made everything possible to give us a great comfortable stay. He was very helpful even taking time to suggest places we should go to and a route we should follow by car to get the most of our time there! place was very comfortable with a large bedroom, and a very good breakfast each morning! will definitely recommend!

Review 5:Scrambled egg for breakfast was not cooked properly. We were in a 4 * hotel in seville last week for £57 per night with all facilities and pool and yet it cost £76 per night to rent a room in someones house- rip off.

Review 8:Host very friendly and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The cooked breakfast was excellent including Haggis if requested. If we return to Crieff area again in the future will use James Cottage.

Review 9:No wifi and had a few cobwebs in the corners which has a few big spiders in. also we drove past it twice as the sign outside ain't the clearest to see.

Review 10:Very friendly owner ! Helped organise a taxi and let us check in a few hours early. great breakfast, lovely big bed with lots of cushions and decent mattress. Shower was very nice and although no bath wasn't a issue at all. Has a sky light in bathroom so lighting was excellent and big thick black out blinds so at night was brilliant.

Review 11:Wanted to keep the bed was far more comfortable than my own.....Michael had a nice charismatic warm feel about him and gave us info on bars and restaurants locally on sat night.....enjoyed our overnight in Crieff.

Review 34:Nothing really - you must never expect Claridges in a small(ish) B&B

Review 35:The friendliness and genuine concern for the welfare and comfort of individual guests. Michael is the ideal host, and it feels like home. The restoration of the 200 year old house has been done sympathetically and you sort of wrap it round you when you go in. Free, safe parking right outside the door. The breakfast was great! The conversation was stimulating; fascinating facts emerged, but you have to be patient!

Review 99:Staying at James Cottage was like staying at the house of a friend or member of the family. What a wonderful older house with real character, an Michael giving us such a warm welcome to his home. Also 10 out of 10 for an excellent 'full Scottish' breakfast. Michael's parting phrase - "Haste ye back" ..... we'll be sure to call next time we're in Crieff.

Review 101:Breakfast was excellent, and served to our liking. Michael, the host, was very nice and helpful. It is also within very close driving distance to sights south of town.

Breakfast included & was quick to take care of any needs! Michael also took the time to tell us about the area and offered information about our upcoming drive. Could not have asked for a nicer host!!

Review 103:Minor issue - would have preferred choosing what to have for breakfast later than immediately on arrival.Although overall our room was clean and acceptable, there were some dusty areas. This in no way affected our enjoyable stay at James cottage

Review 104:A very warm welcome was given by Michael and his wife. Both were very pleasant and helpful especially over parking the motorbike and also recommending places for our evening meal..
