Reviews for April Guesthouse

Review 1:Lumpy single bed Room was freezing Overstuffed with furniture leaving no floor space Kettle on low 18" table Light shade rattled when people above moved Nobody on site after initial welcome-left a telephone number for contact

Review 2:Comfortable double bed

Review 3:Our only complaint was that the curtains in our room didn't close and the street lights shone in all night making it harder to sleep.

Review 4:Hilda was very welcoming and helpful and cooked a lovely breakfast.

Review 5:Restrictions on checking in time. Uncomfortable pillows.

Review 6:Convenient location for town centre without being too close. Good for early morning walk on the beach.

Review 7:The room was well furnished, with everything that I needed. The en-suite bathroom appeared new and was spotless, as did the rest of the room. Cant see how I couldn't give full marks.

Review 8:Wi fi poor but not April's problem Blame BT!

Review 9:Great people. Very clean. Fantastic breakfast !! Good location. No need for the 'Hotel Inspector' here.

Review 10:Some difficulties arose due to there being no staff living on site and only available by going out to find a phone box! Sheets creased, bins not emptied, frig door wouldn't close

Review 11:Vegetarian dishes should be added for breakfast and the wifi was not so good.

Review 12:The guest house was just superb all facilities was great and breakfast as well. The room and ensuite bath was also very good. Enjoyed our stay there

Review 13:The only issue I had, which was a personal choice. In our room (1) the bay window was too light as there was no real blackout feature. Cream blind and unable to close curtains.

Review 14:We received a very warm welcome and the owner was friendly and helpful with regard to accomodation and facilities round area.

Review 15:Sunderland's result. All that way to watch my team capitulate!

Review 16:Very friendly staff. Lovely walk along the coast towards Souter lighthouse. Great to lie in bed at night and hear the gentle roar of the sea instead of traffic noise.

Review 17:There wasn't anything to dislike about this guest house

Review 18:We liked everything about the guest House from the rooms to the service at breakfast spot on hospitality close to the town centre and all other ammenities great location situated 5 minutes from the beach we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and if sunderland stay up we will definately be booking to stay with you again thanks for a truly magnificent stay hope to see you again next year compliments to Hilda Steve and all the staff at april guest house from Mark Lewis and the villa fans

Review 19:Everything was fine.

Review 20:Breakfast was very good, piping hot. Bed was lovely especially the quilt really warm, the weather was slightly chilly, shower room good size.

Review 21:Needs some sort of warning about satnav inadequacies. Of course this is not April Guesthouse's fault, but "St Georges Terrace" is a better indication of it's position rather than the postcode which indicates a back lane.

Review 22:Very helpful owners

Review 23:What a pleasant change to stay at acommodation run by really nice down to earth people. I was warmly welcomed & was told the necessary information for my stay. It took a bit of time as we kept chatting about the old days of football. My room was simplistic, but clean & tidy. Free wifi is great although signal drops out sometimes as I was in the upper part of the house. My bed was softer than used to but I slept really well. Breakfast was good & I chatted to the family members. There aren't really too many facilities but you don't expect any for the price you pay. It is so nice to converse with real people rather than hotel robots!! Location is great if you are going to Stadium of Light. Town centre is a bit of a walk. Seafront is certainly refreshing this time of year, especially for a Southerner!!! Overall I would whole heartedly recommend staying here. Lovely people. Thank you & see you next year hopefully if Sunderland stay up!!!!

Review 24:Just the single beds. Would of liked to have a double bed to share with my wife.

Review 25:Ideally located lovely Roker Park. Staff very friendly and ideal for the price.

Review 26:Although allocated a family room at the price of a double, the extra unused bed made the room a little congested. Duvet too heavy for mild weather.

Review 27:Quiet location with convenient parking, only a 20 minute walk from The Stadium of Light.

Review 28:Odd occasion wome up by next door opening there door with a loud key. Also a shame the wifi didn't reach my room!
