Reviews for Lea House Bed and Breakfast
Review 1:Nothing to fault
Review 2:Value for mo eye and the hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The house was fabulously comfortable and inviting. Breakfast perfect.
Review 3:Nothing
Review 4:Ideally located to explore Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. Sophie and Andy were very welcoming and made for a very nice break. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this B&B.
Review 5:Nothing really. The B&B is on a main road and , although not super noisy, would be absolutely perfect if in a slightly quieter spot, but nothing anyone can do about that! On the other hand, it was easy to get to other places quickly.
Review 6:Extremely friendly human and doggie hosts (Sophie & Andy + Saffy & Harry ..) really made you feel genuinely at home and relaxed (not always the case with B&Bs). Always there to offer assistance but not "in your face" - the balance exactly right. Breakfasts just lovely and locally sourced.
Review 7:Absolutely nothing to dislike.
Review 8:Homely and friendly atmosphere, quirky comfortable property, very cosy and breakfast was second to none! Within easy travelling distances for local and historical sites.
Review 9:Potentially the position of Lea House (right on the road with our room overlooking the street) could have been noisy but traffic died at night and we both slept well.
Review 10:We enjoyed the welcome, the bedroom, the breakfasts and the garden. Every effort was made to make our stay comfortable. Andy and Sophie have taken over the business very recently and are doing splendidly.
Review 11:Wi-fi not available in the bedroom - a slight inconvenience.
Review 12:Excellent traditional B&B with many attractive extras, such as home-made bread and intriguing and beautiful ornaments. Very warm welcome. Excellent breakfast including thoughtfully prepared veggie fare.
Review 13:the owner Sophie was so hospitable. breakfast was fantastic and she cooked it to order with freshly squeezed orange juice. place was very comfortable with a sitting room available for your use.
Review 14:I arrived late and they were very friendly and accommodating. Nice comfortable bed with tea, coffee and the odd Ginger Nut! Excellent shower with great toiletries and a fluffy towel. Breakfast was excellent!! Save clicking further just book while you can!
Review 15:Unfortunately the wifi was not connected. But hey! we can exist without that!!
Review 16:Our hostess has only recently taken over the place and could not have done anymore for us; it was a most enjoyable stay and the food was excellent.
Review 17:Uncomfortable hard (twin) bed in Cider Room. Very busy and noisy a roadright outside window, headlights shine in your face while in bed, ascars turn the corner. Aggressively obnoxious owner, intrusiveconfrontational nosey and argumentative, made me feel 100% unwelcome andwas unpleasant throughout my short one night stay. I had arrived earlierthan her allowed time of 4pm, I thought by arrangement as I had(politely I thought) rung her a few days before. She should have told methis was not possible rather than make my stay a complete misery !!Unprofessional and a disgrace. I was very cold "Im not putting theheating on just for you, its too expensive" and suggested at 4pmthat I sit under a blanket on my (hard) bed! The room was 15 degrees! Icould not have a bath as planned as it was cold and the towels weredreadful - circa 1970, very yuk. Replace the towels Caroline! Or maybeshe gave me the worst ones. I think they should be demoted to dogtowels. Maybe they were dog towels ! Caroline entered my room when I wasnot there (I had left to find somewhere warm) and made sure I knew shehad, which felt sinister. I had confidential papers all over the room ashad left suddenly as she had been unforgivingly rude to a friend who haddriven over from Cardiff with her little girl. No lock on door, Ibarricaded myself in with a chair. Dreadful dated furnishings I couldcope with, all of the above proved very hard. Should have stayed in aproper hotel in Ross for the same price! I believed the other reviewsand booked in good faith.
Review 18:Absolutely nothing, if I had arrived by car I would have left. Wouldsuit people looking for an experiential workshop by cast of The Leagueof Gentlemen.nb this is the Forest of DEAN - look it UP and divert to beautiful Wye Valley or friendly warm Cotswolds.
Review 19:Unable to connect to wi fi in bedroom .In other areas it did connect but disconnected shortly after which is unfortunate as the property was selected based on free wi fi throughout
Review 20:Secure off-road parking
Review 21:Quality & quantity of breakfast items- I ordered full English- got 1 small rasher of bacon, 1 small sausage, couple of mushrooms & beans 1 egg- where were the hash Browns, black pudding, fried bread?- could taste the cooking oil

Review 51:The building is very old, and while it is exceedngy comfortable, I have a small mobility issue and I found the bedroom floor sometimes a small challenge as they are uneven and have a slight slope.
Review 52:Friendly, clean, tidy, and condusive to relaxing. Excellent choice of food for breakfast, and all good quality. I am a tall person but found lots of room throughout, which I found quite refreshing. The stairs are quite gentle too.

Review 54:Lovely property in a good location for exploring the area. Caroline is very helpful maps etc provided.
Review 55:Nothing! To put in context, keep in mind this is a beautiful old B&B not a Hilton. So expect creaky floorboards, leaning floors, pink duvets. But those things just make for a truly lovely experience.
