Reviews for To Spiti Mas
Review 1:Papigo is beautiful and To Spiti Mas was the perfect home for a couple of days. Awesome location looking at the "Towers". Comfortable bed and pillow. Clean. Great shower. Little kitchenette so we self-catered, eating out one night locally. Convenient parking. George, the manager, is fantastic! He gave us perfect directions on how to get there from Ioannina (although our GPS got it correct also), kept in touch with us via WhatsApp in the lead up and whilt we were there and gave us information about the area. Thank you George!
Review 2:Gorge, the manager of the villa, is a lovely person who took care of all our needs. He was there for us completely. We felt there like it was our home. Defenetly we will back there.
Review 3:The small town is very pictoresque and the surrounding mountains are really beautiful and allow for amazing excursions. The accomodation and the rooms are beautiful and with all the facilities. The host is the kindest person, he helped us with very useful tips over the area and was very nice and welcoming throughout all the duration of our stay, making us feel at home.
Review 4:if you don't rent the entire house [4 bedrooms] there is a problem with privacy because it is like sharing a house with other people. internet spotty, and occasionally not enough water pressure
Review 5:beautiful house in a beautiful village. old and atmospheric house. within reasonable driving distance from many attractions in Zagoria. George [the owner] is very sweet, friendly, .ready to help. kitchen available for cooking
Review 6:If you travel by car the access to the property is through a narrow street so you must leave the car in a square nearby, at aprox 100m distance.
Review 7:The traditional house with nice rooms, quietness, amazing view all around, beautiful village.
Review 8:geen winkels in het dorp, dus ontbijt vooraf aanschaffen in grote plaats
Review 9:erg mooie uitvalsbasis voor prachtige wandelingen veel gelegenheden in the dorpje om te eten
Review 10:- Breakfast isn't included. That wasn't a negative for us, since we were informed about that and we'd taken all the necessary supplies with us and had breakfast in our lovely room. I'm just mentioning it for other visitors to be prepared like we were.
Review 11:- very friendly and hospitable staff - nicely decorated room, creating a cozy atmosphere - excellent view of the surrounding mountains - hot water in the bathroom all day long All in all, a great lodge in affordable prices
Review 12:Wifi was spotty at best.
Review 13:Location was great, as was the room. For a secluded stay, To Spiti Mas is great as the service is 'on request' (meaning no cleaning unless you ask for it).
Review 14:-Wi-fi connection is slow and unstable. -The only nearby foodshop provides limited options for safe-catering. -Every walk to beach or to the village implies climbing. It's not bad (and it's certainly healthy) but can make troubles for small children or aged persons.
Review 15:-Nice well-equipped studio. -A nice shady terrace and garden. -Good for family stay. -Beautiful sea views. -VERY friendly and helpful owner. -Beach is in a ten-minutes walk.
Review 16:Everyone at Spiti Mas was so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our whole family truly enjoyed the accommodations, peacefulness and how home-like it was as well as meeting other guests who we're staying there. Definitely a great first experience staying in a guest house and would highly recommend Spit Mas to anyone.

Review 23:George is the most incredible host! .Beautiful old stone house .convient rooms .great price
Review 24:"To spiti mas" is suitable for those who want to feel like home!for those who want to enjoy the nature, the amazing moyntain views and the minimal luxury of the accommodation! If you imagine somebody to take care of you all the time as if you are handicap, better go to a spa hotel...@to spiti mas you feel and you behave with the respect you would do at your place.giorgos -the landlord is amazing!
Review 25:Lovely renovated guest-house with wonderful view of Astraka mountain. The rooms are very large, cozy and clean. Guests have access to the kitchen (you can use the fridge and prepare meals) and to the living room. George is very kind and helpful! We were a group of 8 people and we will definitely go back to To Spiti Mas!
Review 26:Should offer breakfast which is difficult to find in any of the cafeterias in the area and if found it is extremely expensive, no tv in the room
Review 27:Renovated keeping untouched all traditional elements of the original building, great location in the village with view of Astraka mountain
Review 28:An amazing guest-house that offers an "old fashioned"luxury combined with the best view in the village! The manager,George, is the best person to guide you through the history and thebeauty of the place. Overall, we got what we wanted and more. We arecoming back soon!!
Review 29:Initially I wished they offered breakfast; however, George directed us to a great place that was very flexible - they even prepared breakfast for us at 6AM prior to an early start.
Review 30:To Spiti Mas is a terrific small guesthouse at the end of the village. With only a few rooms, it is a very intimate place, where the manager, George, is more like a personal guide and a friend. George is well-educated and extremely knowledgeable regarding the surrounding environment. He will help you plan hikes in the region, and if you are lucky, lead one as well. I strongly recommend To Spiti Mas for those looking for a small, quiet place and a memorable personal experience.
Review 31:"To Spiti Mas" has an excellent view to the Papigo rocky towers. We scanned with the fieldscope all the precipitous rocky towers of Astraka peak, discovering a pair of golden eagle and a small group of the extremely rare Balkan chamois. We discussed a lot about the wildlife of the area with the owner (field biologist) and learned a lot about the protected areas in Greece. Accommodation was luxury in that recently renovated mansion dated back to the 16th century. Price was excellent as well. We suggest it to everybody, especially to those with special interest on wildlife, culture and hiking.
Review 32:Unwilling to accept credit card payment. Only small outsidesitting area.
Review 33:Nicely renovated authentic village house which really lets you feel likebeing at home. Usage of common living room and kitchen possible (incl.Washing machine). Friendly owner and manager who were very helpful. Goodand reliable internet connection
Review 34:Our stay in To Spiti Mas was amazing! George picked us up at the entrance of the village (really helpful as Pápigkon has many little narrow streets) and brought us to the hotel located in an old typical house where there were already maps of the area and hiking paths ready for us. The room was very large, fit three people, had a beautiful fireplace and great mountain view. The bathroom was spacy and clean. Guests have access to the kitchen (where you can store food in the fridge and prepare meals) and to the cozy living room. Here you'll find a big TV and books many of which about the local fauna and flora. The location is perfect for hiking in the area and bird- and chamois watching. The breathtaking Vikos Gorge is also nearby. No supermarket in town (only a very expensive mini market), the closest half an hour away in Konitsa so you might want to do some shopping before arrival. You'll find delicious restaurants in the village serving typical food. We will definitely go back to To Spiti Mas! Great place with extremely kind and helpful staff!
Review 35:When we were there, the wi-fi internet was not available.
Review 36:The proprietor George (Iorgos) was fantastic, he offered us many tours of the rock pools and gorge hiking during all stay--all included in the price of the hotel. He also surprised us with a complimentary bottle of his own *very tasty* wine. The room was comfortable and romantic, traditional fireplace included. The location of the hotel in Papigo is very convenient for major sites and eating, and the views from the rooms are stunning.
