Review 1：Bed a bit too soft for our taste. The staff was good and helpful but we never got the tiniest smile from the main receptionists, not even during welcome. Their replies seemed a bit "short" and "strict", in a way that it made me not to want to do a follow up question.

Review 2：We booked a Superior Double Room with Sea View and a fireplace. The room was lovely and modern. The sea view is poor but I did not mind. Located 5min max from main Portaria square. They provided wood and everything to light up our fireplace although it was late at night.

Review 3：For a four star hotel we would expect some supplies to be of better quality, eg tea (cheap brand), toiletries (were not replaced regularly, we forgot one toothbrush and they did not have any to provide). A boiler for tea would be nice in the room of a winter hotel. We did not have chairs in our balcony.

Review 13：It a hotel in a small quite vileg above Volos, It was a great choice! The area is beautiful, the hotel is amazing, the staff always helped us, the breakfast was really good! The pictures here are all true it's near the sure line so we went to magical beaches according to the staff advice thanks for lovely 3 days!

Review 32：The hotel is located in an idilic, small historic city at 620 m. above the sea level and overlooks the port of Volos, located at the bottom of the valley. The view complements the great staff and nicely decorated modern rooms. Excellent bathrooms, beds and common facilities. There is no restaurant, but the breakfast is rich and well prepared.

Review 35：Despotico is at an amazing location overlooking at Volos. The main building has kept the aura of the old aristocratic house as the refurbishment has been done with respect to the history of the building. Clean, comfortable and very very cozy! The swimming pool is small but big enough for a hot summer day. The room was beautiful with a very nice walk-in shower! Difficult to leave the room! For all those who complained about the narrow street going to the hotel all I can say is that it is a shame to downrate a beautiful hotel like this because of that. Despotico was built on a mountain way before cars were available and that needs to be appreciated! Narrow streets were made of stone for horses not cars with horsepower! If you are not experienced enough or simply can't drive in narrow streets (which is not really difficult!) leave the car on the main street or at the car park in the village and simply enjoy the walk but don't downrate without thinking! 10 out of 10!

Review 36：Warning if travelling with car, the access road to the hotel is narrow. You can also park with no issues the town centre ( there is a big parking lot available for free ).

Review 38：The hotel Despotiko, an oasis of tranquility and luxury, is located in a beautiful old village surrounded by nature. The rooms are beautifully renovated (even with a fireplace!) and equipped with all luxury. The pool is perfect and clean, and the breakfast offeres many choices. An additional thank you goes to the staff who are all very cordial and professional at the same time. We love Pillion, Portaria and Despotiko, and we'll definitely come back. Do not hesitate to book this hotel!!

Review 40：There was a hill that had to be climbed to get to the premises and traffic was very busy, but there are no footpaths. Lighting around the outside was non existent, so a bit scary climbing steps etc. Some of the staff were lovely, whereas others were very sour. Asking for another spoon at breakfast was a No No!!!! Had to pay to use a safe in your room - should have been included in the cost. Wi Fi available, but only for a very short period of time and the computer in the reception was able to be used, but at a cost. Thought it may have been for free as the Internet is already connected. Not so!! A bit disappointing.

Review 42：Not very easy to reach by car, because of the narrow path which leads to it-but that is the beauty of the location after all. Some problem with the parking for our car was solved quickly by the staff.When we booked the room the hotel called us back to tell us kindly that our visa was not working, we sent the money to the hotel's account. When i checked with my bank, the told me that the payment was rejected because our visa was used in an unsafe web page-maybe this should be checked...

Review 85：The hotel description talked about cable TV, but we barely had the basic Greek channels in acceptable reception and definately no music channels. There were two-three stains on the walls/bathroom door of our room from previous guests which weren't cleaned properly. The A/C unit was barely producing any chilled air and was too noisy. The windows didn't have any screens to keep out bugs. The breakfast buffet was not as lavish as described in the website.

Review 95：No chance you can find the hotel (even when we used GPS) - if you are coming to this hotel just ask people in village and they will direct you. The narrow access road - well people wrote here about it but we refused to believe - well it is so narrow and we actually scratch our car once, and the second time a car came in front of us - so we have to go back in this narrow road - which took us more than 30 minutes drive for 150 meters !

Review 101：there were a few times that water was not running properly in the shower and the tv antenna had very low power. but both issues were minor compared to the outstanding location, comfort facilities and overall feeling.
