Review 1：My elderly mother struggled with the steps and the kitchen facilities need enhancing.

Review 2：The staff at Sunrise Suites were always welcoming and willing to help make our stay a happy one. The ambiance of the resort was relaxed and pleasant with great views of the town and coastline.

Review 4：This is a modern family owned and managed small hotel with great facilities, clean modern efficient rooms with kitchenettes and balconies or patios and ocean views from probably every room. The lobby is amazing and the outdoor breakfast area has amazing views of Chania and Souda bay. The breakfast is optional, which is nice since the rooms do have kitchenettes, and very reasonably priced and included cooked meats and eggs along with all the typical Greek breakfast items like yogurt, breads, cold meat & cheese, honey, jams etc, the pool area is enormous classy and clean and has a great bar at the pool for alcohol, soft drinks, snacks etc. staff is very attentive, friendly and helpful. I know this sounds like management must have dictated this review but they didn't! We're from the US and have high expectations for accommodations and we were extremely pleased with our stay and will be making a reservation again next time we visit Crete. Oh, and only a short walk into town for restaurants on the bay, bank, supermarkets and the like. Stay here if you are going anywhere on the west or north coast of Crete.

Review 5：The owners, Greek/Americans, Gus and Ebsi and there staff Catharinaand Reina are the most accommodating hosts I've encountered. I havestayed at and own various 5 star timeshares in Mexico and Sunrise Suitesis comparable in every way. The views are wonderful. The breakfast good,the service outstanding. Catharina will break her back to make youhappy. The afternoon host, Reina, climbed thru my kitchen window torecover keys I left in the room. I can't say enough positivedescriptions about this operation. Book a stay. You'll see and feelwhat I mean.

Review 9：The wifi should be updated so that it actually works in the room and not just on balcony. Breakfasts need 100 percent juice and fruit and perhaps more variety, but we loved it anyway. Kitchens need cutting boards and actual pots and pans. If I could make some suggestions: offer the option of a welcome package for families that might include some basic grocery items (salt, oil, first dinner if arriving late). Offer laundry service for a fee. Offer a list of nearby trips and pros and cons for families. Lobby is wasted space and could have some play stuff for kids, there is room somewhere on property for a play area. For small children, microwave would be good idea. Our AC needed to be sorted out upon arrival and we had a non functioning coffee maker, which was happily replaced. Also, there needs to be better description of different kind of rooms (better photos) and how they work with kids (we had to block beds with chairs so 3 year olds didn't fall out!). Only disappointment was that even staying far from the road, I heard cars all night.

Review 10：This is the ideal place for a young family to explore the area without getting stuck with tourist hordes! It is a 3 star hotel with 4-star management, super clean and accommodating. Very laid back, perfect for people who hate resorts but want to be near the sea. Beautiful view. Nice fellow travelers. Very few hotels not packed in August and this was so peaceful! Owners are true pros. GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY. If you get to stay here, you will be happy! Restaurants in Kalives are yummy.

Review 15：Having to leave; for the first time that we can remember, we didn't feel ready to come home at the end of the fortnight as we really wanted to stay a little longer.

Review 16：Kalives is only 30 minutes by taxi from Chania airport, so we left at breakfast and were in the pool by lunchtime - bliss! We were made to feel like guests rather than "customers" as the Kostas and Aspasia's team were so warm and friendly; nothing ever seemed to be too much trouble (e.g. we asked for a kettle and extra pillows and they were brought to our apartment within 10 minutes). The cleanliness in both the shared areas and the apartment was second to none with regular towel and linen changes throughout our stay as a matter of course. The generously sized pool was spotlessly clean and the pool bar a great asset. You could order a toasted sandwich or, if you wanted something more, you could choose from a selection of menus for a delivery from the village and the friendly service of Katerina and Renya was a real bonus; If you prefer the beach, it is a 10 minute stroll away with plenty of amenities to choose from. The apartment is no-frills but is comfortable and more than adequate for a holiday stay and really is very good value for money. The Sunrise Suites is away from the bustle of the village centre and is a little way up the hill overlooking the bay so we sometimes were very lazy and treated ourselves to a short taxi ride (Euros 5) but it is only a10 minute stroll up the hill.

From the start we got a very warm welcome and it just got better and better through out our stay. Everybody at Sunrise are doing their very best to make everybody happy, relaxed and comfortable - it was a great plessure to stay at this beautiful place!! The pool was very clean and our children loved it! Breakfast great, rooms very clean! We will definitly return to Sunrise and the heartwarming atmosphere we experienced!

Review 27：The Hotel and The Atmosphere was great and fantastic. Room was spacious, clean, with kitchenette, big balcony and fine sea view. The pool was meticulously well kept and never too busy with drinks and snacks always close to hand. Generally good location with 5 min walking to beach and town with it's plentiful selection of tavernas … and Staff. Dimitiris … the manager, extremely welcoming and helpful and Katerina with her amazing attention. They went out of their way to make us feel relaxed and enjoy our stay. There was only white wine in the pool bar but I like only red one … so next day red wine was in menu. Fantastic !!!. Thanks Dimitiris and Katerina not only for fantastic organization.

The manager, Dimitri, is friendly and helpful, no need to bring a guide book of Crete as he has excellent knowledge of everything you need to know. Katarina is a happy and friendly person who makes breakfast entertaining and is always ready to help.

Review 35：Have just returned and have nothing bad to say about Sunrise apartments, a fabulous place, beautiful views, the cleanest pool and surrounding area I have ever seen. No towels on sun loungers, 'heaven' The rooms were cleaned regularly, beds were comfortable and I loved the sheets good quality cotton!! ( I think Dimitri thought I was a bit mad when I asked where I could buy some from) Dimitris and Katerina are so friendly and helpful and can't do enough for you. They are so busy but always have time to stop and chat. The beach is only a few minutes away, we didn't mind the walk. Some lovely restaurants and good food and not expensive. Go to Chania, it's beautiful, so much to see. A fantastic holiday, will definitely return. Thank you Dimitris and all at Sunrise.

Review 39：The atmosphere was great. The staff (Katherina and Demitri) were genuinely friendly and always helpful. Katherina even drove my wife to a local super market to buy cheap nappies for Elodie. We loved the views from our terrace and from the pool. There are two super clean pools, one for adults and one for kids. The pool bar was reasonably priced and Mithos served in frozen glass. Our daughter Elodie loved the doll Katherina gave to her. The place overviews the sea and is not further than 5 minutes form the beach. There is also a pretty little harbor not far from where we were staying. All in all amazing stay, highly recommend.

Review 40：Steep walk to the beach and town although the distance was short- definitely not for those with mobility problems. Likewise some of the upstairs apartments had narrow, steep winding stairways. We would have liked a kettle and kitchen amenities were basic but we didn't do any cooking this time so this wasn't a major inconvenience.

Review 41：Well appointed complex with fabulous views all round over the pool, village and mountains to the rear. Dimitris and Caterina were welcoming and couldn't do enough to ensure our stay was everything we wanted. As a family of 6 adults and a toddler Dimitris made sure we had 3 rooms near to each other. The travel cot supplied was immaculate. All the rooms were more than spacious and could easily be classed as family size. Having air conditioning which we could control was such a bonus as it was very hot this July. Our holiday was combined with a family wedding on the beach and visiting family members were made very welcome. I would definitely recommend Sunrise Suites as a superior accommodation in Kalyves. Thank you for a memorable holiday.

Review 55：The location is wonderful and the views are amazing. The accommodation was really good, everything spotlessly clean. Beds changed every day and lovely soft white towels. The staff were fantastic, especially Dimitris who has a charming personality. Nothing is too much trouble. We had such a relaxing stay, the village is simple but had all that you need. We would go back in a heartbeat!

Review 56：I love this place, but the beds are in need of more comfort. The bedsare almost a deal breaker for this place. We are 40, my husband 50,respectively and in decent physical shape, but the beds were destroyingus. Still, we love it here so much that next time we would bring campingpads with us for the beds, but not before begging the owners to upgradeor at least put some comfort foam on these hard beds. Please.

Location was good with 5 min walking to beach and town. Because Hotel is situated on the hill, there is little bit uphill walking and stairs when coming back to hotel. We could definitely come here again and can recommend this hotel for others. If you look for a nice and peaceful hotel with friendly personnel and fantastic views, you will like this.

Review 68：My recent 3 week stay with Sunrise Kalyves was one of perfection, warmth and a wealth of hospitality given by Dimitris, Katerina and all staff. Nothing was too much trouble and as I was staying there on my own, I felt completely safe and secure. The appartment was cleaned each day by lovely Anglaix who was always smiling and friendly as was Dimitris and Katerina. Sunrise was very relaxing, wonderful views and swimmjng pool excellent. There is also a sun terrace where breakfast can be taken if required. Dimitris, the very efficient Manager, greeted me upon my arrival (bearing in mind that I arrived quite late in the evening) showed me to my room and immediately I felt 'at home'. Review 69：The appartment is a bit up the hil. Therefore u need to take the car to go down to the beach. There is only one aircondition in the appartment so it is a bit hot to sleep in the living room.
