Reviews for Kidwells House
Review 1:The walls/ceilings are quite very thin. The guest/s above us snored so loud it could be heard quite prominently through to our room = hardly any sleep. The fact he/she snored wasn't the hotel's fault but this the only downfall of the stay
Review 2:The room was well kept and had everything we needed. The staff were very polite and friendly and the breakfast was lovely and fresh!
Review 3:No bad points really!
Review 4:More like a hotel than a B&B. The property is a row of houses that have been converted to hotel accommodation. Everything is in very good order and the staff are wonderful. Very comfortable stay.
Review 5:Very friendly. I was a late arrival & they kindly arranged to leave a key. Europcar rental station less than 50 yards away. Clean, comfortable and a great little find.
Review 6:Our last visit here the mattress in our bedroom was so lumpy all the springs gone, was a shame as we have had good stays before, when we mentioned it the next morning wasn't even a sorry said about it, worst night sleep ever!
Review 7:I have stayed here 3 times first 2 times was lovely, lovely clean rooms and breakfast was lovely too.
Review 8:Slightly cramped bedroom - bedside tables partially blocked doors to bathroom and wardrobe. Noise from room above.
Review 9:Just a short walk from the town centre, good breakfast, friendly staff
Review 10:All pleasant ---walk into Town not scenic--but a convenient walk away, also close to the new shopping and restaurant development. The only gripe was that the bed we had was very soft.
Review 11:£75 / night for a B&B / Guest house is very expensive,if I'd had more notice of my trip I would of used the premier Inn instead. I've paid £65 for a night at the Hilton
Review 12:Great location, friendly staff, lovely breakfast and really comfortable room. Everything you would expect from a guest house
Review 13:Clean,comfortable room with good facilities. Excellent bathroom and shower. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Reasonable price. Good parking. We will come back again.
Review 14:The mattress in our room was a bit uncomfortable as we could feel the springs.
Review 15:The staff were very helpful and attentive. The room was clean and well decorated.
Review 16:It seems like someone forgot to flush the toilet before I came. A little bit disgusting.
Review 17:Helpful staff, gave me a map of town. Lovely room, enough space.
Review 18:The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a clean and comfortable room and a large bathroom. The room was good value for money.
Review 19:Not staying in the main house and in spite of being told to get down before 9 am for breakfast, we had a 50 minute wait.maybe a longer breakfast time would be better. We got the last free table in the dining room complete with the remains of someone else's breakfast.awful
Review 20:The easy parking
Review 21:In difficult circumstances - I was attending a funeral - the staff made me feel very calm and at ease, and they went out of their way to be helpful in every way, which was much appreciated.
Review 22:Room was very noisy, on busy main road, and single glazing.......!! doesn't work. apart from that, OK for a night or two near city centre, but odd arrangement. Looks like they have bought a row of terrace houses and converted them into rooms!
Review 23:Staff friendly, breakfast was very good, hot and well presented.
Review 24:Room was over the road, so a bit noisy - top tip, ask for a room at the back! Noisy ppl in the room next door kept me awake til 5am. Not the B&B's fault though.
Review 25:Very clean and comfortable B&B, very close to the town centre. Good breakfast, lots of parking.
Review 26:No-nonsense overnight stay: friendly, helpful welcome, comfortable bed, good shower and reasonable choices at breakfast with pleasant young staff. Ten minutes walk form the centre of Hereford. Free parking. Ideal.
Review 27:Two minor points were; Clocks went forward meaning an hour less in bed, but breakfast was still at 7am to 9am (6am to 8am in real life!) and on a Sunday that was too early. The only other thing was our room was at the top of the stairs near the kitchen and the cooking smells came through the room from I think about 6am (5am in real life!!) Neither spoiled our stay and we'll come back again.
Review 28:We were given a warm welcome and the staff throughout the stay were all very polite and helpful. The building was comfortably warm and spotlessly clean. There was plenty of (free) parking space and it's only a ten minute walk into town. (Bit longer on the way back after an evening out!)
Review 29:The inside was clean and the bedroom well furnished and comfortable. The staff were friendly and efficient, going out of their way to provide any information that we requested. The car park was close to the reception, thus we did not have to carry luggage any distance. Breakfast was excellent and a sandwich etc. we had at night was very good value for money. Highly recommended.
Review 30:Kidwells has been my home from home for a few months staying mid week and can find no faults! Friendly staff, spotless rooms and lovely breakfasts. Not sure about weekends but if you need a place to stay during the week, its' perfect!
Review 31:Minor thing, but I found the pillows uncomfortable. But that could just be me. Other than that there was nothing to complain about , thank you.
Review 32:Easy access to most routes from the accommodation.Just a 10minutes walk to the centre.little things like replacing fresh bottled water daily.very friendly, especially breakfast staff and room service.p
Review 33:Heating needed to be switched on earlier to warm the room before we arrived as it was a little cool
Review 34:Spacious room Close to town centre Great breakfast Friendly staff
Review 35:Nothing
Review 36:Entire hotel, rooms as well as public areas, appear to be newly refurbished Clean and tidy Helpful friendly staff Location. (Within walking distance of town center) Delicious substantial breakfast Plenty of parking
Review 37:Our room was above the main entrance area and the smell of breakfast frying each morning was not very pleasant.
Review 38:Shower facilities, parking, friendly staff,
Review 39:A little problem with no hot water on my first visit but didn't put me off.
Review 40:Having been staying in B and Bs for work this is the best! Have already prebooked extra weeks.
Review 41:It isn't in the most beautiful part of town! Very close to the football ground but on, the good side, it's only nine minutes easy walk to the Old Market and the main shopping centre.
Review 42:All the facilities you would expect in a four star guest house: digital TV, make your own hot drinks with a fast electric kettle, plenty of tea and coffee, very comfortable bed, plenty of space for clothes and an excellent full English breakfast.
Review 43:cooked breakfast was made with vey poor value produce. Could up the food budget to improve this quite easily.
Review 44:Good for room facilities. Ten min walk from City centre. Staff friendly and helpful
Review 45:No negatives, apart from would have been nice to have two armchairs in double room rather than just one
Review 46:Staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Immaculately clean and well presented. Very good breakfast, well cooked Ideal location for town centre, everything in easy walking distance
Review 47:If we had a superior double (as booked) then the double room must have been small. Felt cramped in bedroom and bathroom was claustrophobic and in need of a serious makeover. We believe the photos in the ad were all taken of the newer part of Kidwells House and not the older section that we were in and did not reflect the photos at all.
Review 48:Staff were welcoming and efficient Breakfast was of a good standard
Review 49:The bed was shockingly uncomfortable. There was no fan or air conditioning in the teeny tiny room so we didn't sleep well .
Review 50:Location was great, easy to walk to everywhere we needed to go.
Review 51:The room was rather cramped.
Review 52:Friendliness of staff, cleanliness of bedroom and bathroom.
Review 53:Room could have been bigger and the mattress was uncomfortable
Review 54:The staff and cleanliness, look of the place
Review 55:Not applicable

Review 65:Handy for walking into the town and great breakfast
Review 66:Clean,tidy,friendly staff
Review 67:The double bed in Room 1 was one of the worst beds I've ever experienced: quite hard and squeaky.
Review 68:Staff very welcoming, polite and helpful

Review 83:We enjoyed our one night at Kidwells House. The room was very clean and comfortable and breakfast was just perfect.
Review 84:Staff were excellent without exception. Breakfast was delicious. Very clean and comfortable room!
Review 85:Room was spotlessly clean. Very impressed.
Review 86:Nice clean friendly and warm room
Review 87:distance from town difficult and no public transport
Review 88:bedroom comfortable and clean and breakfast good
Review 89:Central location, with car parking, friendly staff
Review 90:Friendly, helpful staff. Nice, comfortable room.
Review 91:Local area run down
Review 92:Very convenient for town centre.
Review 93:Bed a little uncomfortable toilet was very slow to fill up when flushed
Review 94:Staff friendly excellent breakfast lovely garden with table & chairs
Review 95:Lovely place would stay again nice packed lunch can't rate enough
Review 96:Members of staff are very kind. I appreciate their consideration and I love their smiles. A room is very pretty and clean. I recommend this B and B.
Review 97:No useable WiFi in my bedroom - couldn't access my Sky Go. Had to go to a nearby pub for the football - so maybe not such a bad thing. Some water heater type gizmo in my bathroom which fired up to provide guests with hot water I think.
Review 98:Friendly atmosphere.
Review 99:Unfortunately, our mattress (in room 1) was quite lumpy and uncomfortable and was very noisy whenever you moved. Not the best nights sleep, I'm afraid. The bacon in our breakfast was hard and frazzled - couldn't eat it. No-one asked why, or if our meal was ok?
Review 100:Plenty of free parking. Property located on quiet street. Good size bedroom with excellent bathroom and lovely shower. Excellent breakfast apart from the bacon. Very friendly host
Review 101:No- can't think of anything for this cloumn
Review 102:Friendly and welcoming staff, how put my wife and me first. Nothing seemed too much trouble so we could enjoy our visit. Suggested outings were welcome and of course local knowledge was first class.
Review 103:Our room was in the same part of the building as the kitchen. When cooking is on (and a long time afterwards) the smells go straight up the stairs to the rooms (1,2,3 and 4) - my guess because the kitchen is in the center of the building and has no exhaust to the outside air.
Review 104:Breakfast was good. Rooms were clean and tidy
Review 105:The only negative comment would be that when were were shown to our room, which was upstairs, that in the small corridor by the stairs there was furniture pilled up, which was a bit off putting to be honest, made my initial thought before seeing the room a bit, 'oh my word what's the room going to be like'. But, thankfully the room was lovely, bright and airy.
Review 106:The hotel was very close to the town centre which was great for us. It was also great to have somewhere to park. Staff were lovely on arrival and very welcoming. Breakfast was lovely and the service was very efficient. The room was warm, clean and tidy. Will definitely stay again.
Review 107:Position of my room which was next to a taxi office. Loud talking and music from the car radio late in the evening.
Review 108:The staff were very accommodating e.g. with timings for collecting the keys and leaving as well as being able to leave our car in their car park the next day. Spacious room with plenty of hot drink options.
Review 109:Difficult to find for lone driver in the dark. Could do with a map on the website. No-one on reception. Rang bell several times then phoned but their phone was on Voicemail. Then went and banged on the office window. Need a louder bell! WiFi very slow
Review 110:Very clean, comfortable room. Excellent lighting. More than 10 ceiling lights and 2 very conveniently placed reading lights over the bedhead. Very good breakfast
Review 111:'Free Wifi' didn't work for either of our devices. Bed was extremely squeaky. This was not only our experience, but also others who stayed in different rooms. Road noise - try and get a room on the carpark side if you stay. Heating was centrally controlled, so the room was quite cold at various points during the day.
Review 112:Location was ideal for visting the city and the Leisure Centre. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was OK, stock standard English Breakfast.
Review 113:too hot in room but my fault really should have turned radiator down. and as every hotel i go too not enough mini milks in room bit picky but if thats the only fault its very small
Review 114:welcoming,very clean, good location excelent facilities and parking. will ues again and recomend.
Review 115:Cold room on arrival. Heating has been off in hours prior to our arrivalat 5pm. Despite heating on full, room (10) not warm enough.Wi-fi reception very poor. Room sockets all at lowest level so don't take some chargers where some clearance is needed beneath socket.
Review 116:Breakfast is ok and service is quick.
Review 117:Traffic noise from the busy road directly outside the room. Unbelievable not to have double glazing or at least secondry glazing. Twin beds need updating, very creaky and one headboard fell sideways.
Review 118:Everything spotlessly clean with nice towels. Toiletries appreciated. Twin room good size. Free and spacious parking.
Review 119:The bathroom was very tired and the shower over the bath was a bit of a pain.
Review 120:Staff were very helpful and efficient. Convenient parking facilities and tasty breakfast.
Review 121:There are no faults to find.
Review 122:We have been staying here for quite a few years & it never fails in any area. The rooms are spacious, warm, clean & comfy. The staff are lovely & it's a family business. The location is great too. The breakfast is plentiful & lots of choice. Plenty of parking too.
Review 123:Nothing.
Review 124:Room was Very clean. A warm welcome and helpful staff. Very good breakfast. Easy walking distance to City centre. Everything you need from a B&B. No problem staying again.
